I love the movies, but alot of things are wrong in them. that's why me and my friends love spoofing them. making fun of the mistakes.
but it's a movie and just that. you really can't learn anything from it but it will get you intrested in Egypt enough to go and learn more about it I think. ^_^

Gods I LOVE those movies, but gods they are SO historically inaccurate. Poor Yinepu got such a bad rap...and they don't even mention my fave dieties at all!!

i thought it was quite funny how they arragned the names from the royal family into the movie

making nefertiti and anaksunamun rivals..

These two movies are my go-to movies for when I want to feel better. I know that they skew Egyptian history but they are so enjoyable nonetheless.

Also I must complain about the third installment of The Mummy. That was such an enormous waste and clearly just the cashing of a paycheck for Brendan Frasier. It was so outrageously ridiculous.

Ow I agree! My fiancé took me to see the film and I was disappointed .... Imhotep's was funny, but the film in general, not pleased.

But I too watch the films when I'm low, I sit there critsising everything that is wrong xd

I've just watched "The mummy returns". And now I'm a bit curious. What do you guys think of those movies?
Can the audience actually learn anything about egyptian mythology from them? (I'm quite mad right now because of "the evil god Anubis" thing...)

Such movies are not very real, but they are fun to watch. Watch them and enjoy, but do not believe they tell truth, as they do not.

I love the first two movies, but TODE was almost embarassing to watch. And I heard they were coming out with *another* one that takes place in Peru. Oh lawd.

I will only watch the last two because of Brendan Fraser <3

I too saw TODE...and I have to agree, it was meh. Luckily I didn't waste any money to see it ninja

I'm a big Jet Li fan, and this doesn't rank in his best work. Not even his good work. It depressed me, but it wasn't his fault. emo
