((Oof! Haven't been here in a very long time!))
Yeah, I'm very similar. When I'm with my friends I'm usually able to get up and say something, but if I'm with anyone else I'm very reserved and really wait to be talked to. I didn't get out much either...cause well... there just wasn't anything to do.
But in the past year, since I live close to a more urban area, I've been walking a lot to see movies and getting stuff at le mall. Getting lunch at the little locally run for 30 years Sub and Pizzaria. Heh, I'd have to say half the fun though is listening to my music in le music player device as I walk. I couldn't stand walking for 30 minutes without any music or radio.
But I don't know if you've got places within walking distance. sweatdrop That's kind of the key for the thing I do.
Oh, one thing about shyness though... buy a microphone, play on a game that has voice chat, and just yell out everything you say. It lets out so much stress, everyone online things your hilarious, and over time you get a little bit more comfortable with letting out those crazy urges to jump into a conversation.

The microphone idea sounds really good... I might try that out. I've been wanting to play on online game, like World of Warcraft, or Everquest, for a long time, too.
