Harper stared at the flower, slowly reaching out he took it and examined it further. He glanced back at Deva as if she were insane and them promptly started pulling the bits of frayed petals off the dandelion. "I blow in daddy's face?" He asked quizzically, pointing at Zack.
"You lived with a guy named Seamus?" Soloman asked, giggling quite maturely he eventually got over and gave a shrug, "Well, I could see why she might be upset! I sort of feel like I ought to name things now... but I have so many drums, do I give them each a name?" He turned his head to the side and thought intensively about this.
Sunny gave a loud sigh, "Well it doesn't matter." He rubbed his hand over his face in a horrific gesture, pulling on his eyelids and lips to form an expression that was quite odd though it didn't seem like he realized it, "You know anywhere we could play at? Like a good club or something? My sister, you see, is sort of... refusing to sing again..."

Devakanya blinked. The flower wasn't dead. How could he blow the puffs if they weren't there? She sighed and shook her head, delicately placing herself on the grass. Apparently, Harper hadn't understood the gift. Maybe only boys gave girls flowers, and not vice versa. Well, what should she give him then? She then noticed the ladybug crawling across her foot. Hmm. Scooping it up in one hand, she offered that to the boy.
Zack watched Soloman quietly, eyebrows quirked. Was this guy for real? Well, how could he tell? He would have gone along with that hooking up thing if Zack hadn't freaked him out more than he ever intended to be freaked out. "...go for it," he finally said, shrugging. How many drums could a guy have, really?
He turned his attention to Sunny, shrugging again. "There are two clubs around here. One's hard to get in, though. To play, I mean. Don't take garage bands." He gave him a sideways smile. He would know, after all. God knows how many times he tried. "...refusing to sing? How're you gonna play without a singer?"

((... I must be thinking of a different flower! oh well, harper's an idiot, lalala!~))
Harper stared at the lady bug and breifly considered doing something cruel to the thing, like tearing off it's wings and what not. The urge wasn't in him to destroy anything living, thankfully, so instead he carefully reached out to take the bug making sure to use as light a pressure between his fingers as possible. "Is tickly!" he discovered as it crawled across his skin, grinning at Dev. "Your bug? Pet? Name it?" He asked.
"Which begs the question I suppose if bugs are male or female. Maybe half of them are-"
"Solo don't name your drums," Sunny interrupted, then shook his head at Zack, "Well, that's why we were asking you, obviously. Besides, some people, after they get to know my sister, would rather we played without a singer anyway. It really isn't a big deal, she will come around eventually, she always does ridiculous 'strikes' like these anyhow.." He sighed.
Soloman was looking quite put out. "Well, now I feel a bit left out." He said honestly, crossing his arms. "So I shall go play with the children, dudes." He informed, while walking to the kids and giving them one of his copywrited Soloman wacky-insane dude grins.

The unicorn could finally smile now that Harper seemed happy...or amused, at the very least. It was better than screaming or being upset at any rate. But this lady bug was not her pet. Devakanya shook her head, pointing at Harper. It was his bug, his pet! She gave him/her to Harper, so he should get to name it. She leaned forward a little, watching the bug crawl across his skin before looking back up at Harper anxiously. He understood, didn't he?
Sometimes Zack was very glad he was an only child and dropped out of the proverbial school of rock. "...I see," he mumbled as he nodded, clearly not understanding the whole idea. He glanced up, watching Solo as he wandered over to the kids. "...er...sorry?" he muttered, sighing a little. He looked back at Sunny. "Maybe if you play without her, she'll get jealous."
Devakanya paused, rocking back and looking up as one of Harper's men wandered over. She started chewing on her lip, clearly unnerved by him.

Harper stared at Deva expectantly, looking a little frustrated when she didn't verbally respond still. He gave a loud sigh and rolled his eyes, "I forget, you pretend no talk." His attentions went back to the ladybug running around his palm and he giggled again at the tickle, "S'my bug now!" He promptly declared, not connecting that it was a gift but rather that it was in his possession. "I name it Syster."
Soloman walked over and shook his head at Deva, "No reason for that little face little girl." He quickly collapsed to the grassy floor next to the children, crossing his lengthy thin legs. "He's the one that turns little girls into snails." Soloman whispered, motioning at Sunny. Harper giggled.
Sunny smiled slightly at Zack, "Possessive is more like it. Would be especially bad if we got another female singer, but we coulden't put anyone at physical risk knowing better... She will come around, like I said, I'm just worried we are going to be living in a homeless shelter by the time we do. We are a little more than a garage band, though." At that note he coulden't help but snort in his own amusement. He quickly looked back to Zack and shook it off, "What about you? What do you do for work then?"

Devakanya sighed, giving Harper a pouty face. She didn't pretend. She was a good pretender, but being quiet all the time would be a really stupid game. It was his bug all along, silly boy. Didn't he know how presents work? His parents must have never given him one. That was terrible! What kind of parent didn't give presents.
Speaking of said parent, Devi continued to eye Solo warily despite his proclaimed innocence. She got up and trotted a few steps over to Harper, taking a seat behind the smaller boy. You know, just in case Solo was also some sort of slug magician. She didn't want to be a slug. Slugs were disgusting. Gross and slimy and creepy crawly. She was none of those, and had no intention to be one.
She reached out, not entirely paying attention to what she was doing, and latching onto Harper's sleeve. Apparently, he had become her new saftey blanket.
Zack shrugged. "So get a male singer. Or...get her a boyfriend." He snickered. "Tames the craziest of bitches, y'know." That's what happened with his roommate's psychotic sister. Hooked her up with some guy they only sort of knew and they rarely heard a complaint and even then, it was half-hearted. It was practically a dream come true!
...work? Zack threw his head back and laughed out loud, green eyes sparkling as he shook his head. "Me? I just fail at life. Only get an odd job every now and again."

Harper blinked a couple times bewildered when he discovered his sleeve being tugged. He turned around and stared at Deva blankly, "You scared of Solo?" He asked slowly, only to burst out in giggles. "He no scary!" He assured, pointing at Soloman.
Soloman looked quite wounded. He crossed his arms and pouted. "I'm not sure why kids always think I'm scary. If you stop with that face of yours I'll buy you an ice cream or something?" He suggested, turning his head thoughtfully. "I want icecream.." He stood up, obviously intent on finding some icecream despite the kids.
"She is a male singer too." Sunny smiled a bit coyly. One on one conversations were a lot easier for him, and he liked being cryptic. "And she has boyfriends..." He trailed off and stared blankly at Zack. "You do know we are talking about my sister here, right?" Sure, he had heard worse things, especially about his sister, but given his friends and rockstar status he was remarkably still quite uncomfortable with derogatory words.
Then he changed the subject, smartly. "My sister and one of the men we are living with don't have real jobs either. Only me and Solo here, and it isn't exactly anything glamourous.. I'm working as a waiter at Sunny Peacock's." He cringed, obviously displeased with his work experience.

Devakanya nodded sheepishly, magenta eyes darting from Harper to Solo and back again. She didn't let go of her new friend, if you could call him that, but she did stop giving his guardian 'the hairy eyeball'. He did offer ice cream. She'd be a fool to pass up a chance like that. The unicorn stood, ready to follow him. She pulled on Harper's sleeve, looking towards the grown-up. He needed to come too!
Zack blinked. That didn't make a lot of sense, unless his sister had an amplifier...or something. He shrugged, rubbing his eyes. Never having any siblings of his own, he managed to forget how protective most people were of theirs until he went and said something dumb. Like now. "Right. Sorry, man. Didn' mean it like that," he apologized, feeling a little bit dumb as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Heh. I was filing stuff for a while. Was a janitor at some point and I..." He paused in mid-sentence, the thought fleeing. "I've done a lot of things." He gave Sunny a wry grin. Half those things probably weren't legal. "Real jobs are hard to find. Dropped out of high school."

Harper bolted to his feet and clapped merrily, "Ice cream! Chocolate! Strawberry! An' vanilla.." Vanilla, yech. He made a face at the thought and then pointed at the ladybug still frantically running around his hand, "Syster have vanilla. You like vanilla?" He asked Deva, frowning at her in a way that suggested she ought to say no.
Soloman surveyed awhile longer before he spotted, quite a ways off, an ice cream station. "I'm gonna take the kids to get ice cream, cool?" He asked Zack, but he didn't really care if he got an answer. "COME ON LIL DUDES!" At that, he madly began skipping toward the ice cream man. Harper did his best to skip after him as well, but found the movement incredibly...stupid. But in a fun way!
Sunny shook his head in a 'don't worry about it,' fashion. "High school?" He briefly asked. He had heard it before for certain, mostly things about high school aged fans and such and more recently job applications, but there wasn't any 'high school' where he was from. Just white halls, white robes, and a lot of servants. "Err, right... well, neither have we. We were musicians up until... we moved." He coughed nervously and shook his head. He was talking way too much. "So you don't have a job right now? How do you support the kid?"

Lucky for Devakanya was not a vanilla fan either. Too plain. She shook her head at Harper, making a number two with her fingers. Strawberry was her favorite flavor. Even better was when it was with chocolate...and sprinkles! Yum, sprinkles. She liked the colorful kind, though the chocolate kind was pretty good too. She finally let go of Harper, looking towards Zack as Solo hollered at him. Please say yes!
Zack glanced over, raising his eyebrows. Take them for ice cream? Well...he didn't see why not, as long as Solo knew enough to order for Devakanya. Couldn't do it on her own, that one. "She likes strawberry!" he called. There was no way for her to tell him herself. "I'll pay you back later." They were in the same situation as he was, after all, couldn't expect them to pay for his brat too.
Yay! Devi smiled at Harper. She could come! She clapped, much in the manner Harper did, and looked up at Solo, watching him skip. That was weird. Puzzled, she watched Harper as he tried. Not inclined to try and ruin her dress, the unicorn just trotted after the punks.
Zack chuckled and shook his head as he watched them go before turning his attention to Sunny. "Yeah. Dropped out my sophomore year, soon as I turned sixteen. Not like I was a good student, so no one really gave a damn." He snickered to himself. "Thought I was gonna be a rockstar." Oh, the disillusions of a doped up kid. "Right now?" Well, he didn't have to pay for his apartment, just for food and the like. And clothes. Osha went through clothes like tissues. "I do an odd job every now and again. Make some spare change."
"So why'd ja move? Didn' like your neighborhood?"

Harper tried to skip over the wrong clump of dirt and grass and found himself face first in the dirt. He frantically sat up and looked around for his ladybug, relieved when he found it tucked into his sleeve. "So'kay," he assured everyone before toddling after Soloman who (by now, given how large his legs were and that he was an expert skipper) was far ahead of the children.
Personally Harper liked most anything sweet but vanilla generally didn't agree with him. It was, of course, the base for most every other type of ice cream but after tasting things like chocolate or, forbid the thought, double chocolate chunky fudge nut syrup dentist disaster things like vanilla only made him think of something better.
Soloman arrived at the ice cream stand, manned by a half awake teen boy with freckles covering his face like an extremely underweight army boy in camouflage. "What may I get you, sir?" The boy asked.
Soloman turned back to the kids and yelled for them to hurry up, "If you don't get here in time I'm eatin' all your ice cream!"
Sunny shook his head at Zack, "Don't worry about it, we aren't broke... well not quite. We have assets. It's just my sisters incredibly vain need to hold on to things she coulden't wear in most less reputable parts of gaia in the first place..." He took a deep breath. "She's gonna get mugged, and given her general disposition to LET GO of things the robber in question will just likely cut her arm or head off. Which is why I say we sell her necklaces and earrings first, if one were to cut off her arm for a bracelette she might yet survive."
He took a deep breath and remembered where he was.
"Er.. you could say that.." You certainly could! They were banished without any option through a plane loop, they were just lucky they landed on a version of modern earth and not in the laps of some cannibalistic primeval Indians!

Devakanya slammed to a halt as she watched Harper do a face plant in front of her. The young girl trotted to her friend's side quickly, about to offer him a hand when he pushed himself up. He seemed more concerned with Syster than anything else so she hung back as he search, but his ladybug was okay anyways. There was nothing to worry about. She wandered after Harper, always staying at least to steps behind.
At least, until Solo threatened to eat all their ice cream. That wasn't fair! Darting forward, she grabbed Harper's sleeve again, tugging and looking towards his guardian. Didn't he hear? Solo was going to eat all the ice cream by himself! (Think of the brainfreeze!) It wasn't fair! They needed to catch up!
Couldn't Harper do something about it?
Zack watched in silences, nodding when he felt it appropriate. Personally, he liked a little jewelry. Given, all his was permanently attached to his body. He head piercings in both ears and had a piercing on his tongue at some point in his younger years, but recently let it heal itself up. It was awfully hard to sing with the damn thing there, and the novelty had worn off months after the piercing itself. "Alleys of this place ain't that bad if you know how to handle yourself." Don't ask why he knows that. Better off sparing yourself the knowledge.
"I got kicked out of my old apartment," Zack said proudly, smiling at the memories as if they were fond. "Played music too loud, sang too loud, had too many guests. Didn't appreciate my sense of humor either." Personally, Zack thought overflowing the tub so water leaked through the floor into his neighbor's ceiling had been rather amusing. Certainly shut him up. No one else agreed.
"Never lived with any of my lovers, either," he noticed, realizing it for the first time. That was probably for the better. He seemed to get dumped really...often, even if he was a lady's man while he was single. Maybe he just lost his charm after awhile? "l'get a real job someday. Maybe when the kids 'r older. Kinda gotta be around for them, y'know?"

Harper narrowed his eyes on Soloman and, as his sleeve was tugged, moved as fast as his stubby legs would allow, "NUH UH SOLO! MY ICE CREAM!" He yelled quite indignantly, flailing his loose hand.
Soloman was grinning to himself and looking over the counter into the six or so tubs of ice cream sitting half exposed inside the boy's stand. Some pink ice cream, white, brown, some green ice cream, some rainbow sherbet, and finally some blue ice cream with what looked like chunks of bubblegum. "Mkay, I'll have.." he paused, noticing the kids should be there by then.
Soloman glanced down and without even asking for permission went to grab Deva and Harper in either arms and lift them up to see.
"What would you like?" The tender asked again, pushing his glasses up with his index finger and looking annoyed that his minimum wage nap was being disturbed.
Sunny shook his head again, not being able to relate to that experience in so many ways. They had always been encouraged to throw parties, and the apartment complex they were staying in currently seemed to welcome their antics... for now. It probably had something to do with Eliot dating the landlady, but that was another story.
"That sounds quite unfortunate. I'm sorry for your experience." Sunny said maturely, while scratching his cheek thoughtfully. "Yes I imagine living with lovers wouldn't prove wise at all.. I dare say living with one's wife is just as stupid.." He knew the kinds of trouble that happened in their house as it was, but when Ashley and Eliot were going through one of their 'stages' together it was absolute hell. Of course Sunny wouldn't know from personal experience, stalkers had scarred him long ago.
"So you are doing okay for now, getting them food and stuff? My friends wont admit it but if you need help getting them stuff you can let us know. Our info should be somewhere at the liberty center, and my sister loves playing dress up with Harper I can't imagine the glee she'd get from being able to shop a little girl. Heh, she wanted Harper to be a girl..." Of course, judging by the way they were dressed, most people would sooner shop at good will.

Devakanya was dragged more than she ran, but nevertheless she more or less kept up with Harper. She didn't dare let go; she'd get left behind, or worse, trip and fall down in her new dress. Zack would not be happy if she got grass stains all over her nice clothes. He'd probably make her wear Osha's clothes. Euck. Those clothes were always dirty.
Suddenly she was swept off her feet. She clung to the nearest object -Solo's arm as it were- with a death grip, closing her eyes until the movement more or less stopped. She opened them slowly, peering at the arm before glancing up. Oh no. He better not turn her into a slug. She'd have to wear her brother's icky clothes for sure.
All this panicked thinking, however, was erased at the prospect of picking her ice cream. Initial impulse told her to go for the pink (pink = strawberry), but for some reason, she found herself rather drawn to the blue. She liked blue. Chewing on her lip, she glanced at Solo shyly before pointing to the blueish ice cream.
Zack shrugged at the apology. He hadn't meant to go searching for pity. In his opinion, the entire situation was rather hilarious, and his finances never really concerned him until his two kidlets came aboard. "Yeah, I got enough cash for the rest of the week," he said, nodding. Hopefully, by then, Charli or one of his boys would need something delivered or...well, you get the picture.
"Butcha know, I bet Devi would love to go play dress-up, if your sister ever felt like it. Plays it with costumes a lot. A'sides, she could probably do with a girl's touch." Zack laughed, suddenly feeling very awkward. "Feels like I'm bound to be messing the kid up, half the time."

Harper, meanwhile, was shamelessly picking all the ice cream colours but the white one. Further, Soloman nodded as if that were an appropriate answer and then gave Deva an odd look, "That's all you want?" He asked, sounding like he didn't quite believe her.
He set Harper down, (well, okay, more like dropped him) and then told the teen what Harper's order was.
"Five scoops? On one cone?"
"Yep. Make it the leaning tower of Creamza."
"...It's 80 cents each sc-"
"Did I stutter dude? Chop chop!"
The now somewhat miffed teen created the ice cream and quite awkwardly handed it to Harper who needed to hold the cone with one hand and the top of the last ice cream with the other just to keep it all together. He proceeded to gleefully mash his face into the mess.
"Now do you really just want the blue one?" Soloman asked with a grin at Deva.
Sunny smiled, "Well the offer stands! I'd be glad to do something worthwhile with our money, for once..." He crossed his arms and glanced to the side looking rather bitter, "It isn't like she earned it all, you know?" That's singers for you.
"She seems well enough, if just rather timid.. Timid isn't bad, though. Keeps you outta trouble. Plus she's certainly got that girly thing down, ain't at all tomboyish. Girl's touch? Good luck getting that out of Ashley. Hell I'm more of a woman than.." He paused suddenly realizing what he was about to say and then he quickly gave an irritated cough and tried to change the subject;
"Guitarist too, huh? Maybe you could play with us sometime."
