Fen took off as fast as he could; he wasn't about to lose to his brother and prove to be the slowest! He bolted off after him; Fen was already at a disadvantage due to Mbura's head-start. "Bet I'll beat you!" he shouted as he caught up, far away from either of his parents. The cheetah in him was coming out; it had always been a touch stronger in the cheeton than the lion blood had been.
Sukari chuckled as the boys raced ahead of her and her mate. "They've got your genes, I can see," she commented softly as the boys rushed off. They were so much faster than Sukari had ever been as a cub... She shook her head, wondering silently if Jani ever wished he could run that fast on the ground as opposed to in the trees.
"Looks like we're alone for a little bit," she said, licking her mate's cheek playfully before slowly heading off towards the water hole.

Jani smiled as he watched his sons race off after one another. He smiled lovingly at his mate, glad that his cubs were not disabled as he was. Although his time in the trees had left him a magicien up there, on the ground he was akin to a cripple. He had often wished he was like a normal cheetah able to fly accross the ground, but then he always accepted the hand the gods had dealt him. Noone could capture him as long as the trees were around. Unfortunately out on the savannah, he was rather useless to his mate and cubs.
Mbura grinned as his brother caught up to hima nd he laughed, he was certainly slower than his brother but in size he was the largest of his siblings. He was still fast, certainly than nay lion but he held more mucle tone like his mother. He was growing up to be more like a lion, quite the opposite to his brother. He reached the pool of water just as his brother did though and splooshed in to the water, dropletts clinging to his dark fur. "Whee!"

"Ha, I beat you!" Fenris exclaimed, though he hadn't beat his brother by much, before he pounced at him in the shallow water. The cub was completely unaware of his mother's absence, and completely absorbed in play and further beating Mbura in contests. Though, odds were, he'd lose this wrestling fight, since his brother was stronger than him. Fen was pretty strong, but more on the speedy side.
"Look at them, Jani," she said as they got closer to the cubs. "They're so... rambunctious." Her tone was almost regretful, it was fairly difficult to keep up with such fuzzy balls of energy. Fun, but tiring.

Nudging his large mates cheek, the dark green cheetah gave a gentle smile "Don't worry my love, they are only cubs for a short time, they will grow and they will mature, then you will be able to teach them the worlds knowlege that you have." He groomed her ears softly having to reach up, despite being a large cheetah, to perform this. He loved his lioness, she was more beautiful to him than anything and their children, well he admired them above all else, he considered them far beyond a miricle, after all who knew that cheetahs and lions could breed?
Plocking his brother on the forehead with a soggy paw Mbura pulled a tongue at his brother. "Yeah well I betcha you'll be wetter than me by the time we get out!" He grins and pounces his brother then his paws out wide as he tackled his brother in to the shallow waters of the pool.

"We'll see about that!" Fen exclaimed before being dunked under the shallow water. the lighter fur of his snout was now tainted brown with mud when he came up, gasped for a breath, and pounced back at his brother. It was a losing battle that he was fighting, but he didn't care. It was now Fenris' goal to get his brother as wet as he could, as fast as he could.
Sukari sat down next to her mate, glad that the boys were having a fun time. Too bad the other two were back at home... Ah well, some good brother-brother bonding was always a good thing.
"You're absolutely right," she said to her mate's words. "We should enjoy every second we get." She leaned against the cheetah with a happy grin across her muzzle. It was an odd-looking expression on the normally-agitated lioness, but she couldn't help but throw away that dark past of hers.
