Big water? Perhaps it was outside the area Kal had previously explored, because the only water he could remember seeing in the area was a small stream, and a pond. Of course, the pond could have been big if Tapanga had been small when she saw it, but there would be no way for Kal to know without asking.

"Can you take me there?" he said, figuring it would be better to just have her lead on just in case it was somewhere he was unfamiliar with. Hopefully she wouldn't get him lost.

She paused for a moment before 'poofing' back down to her smaller size, giving her wings a flutter to lift her into the air. "Follow Tapanga!" That said she darted off towards the woods in a flash of color.

Kal's eyes widened and he immediately took off after the little mare. He was hard pressed to see her with the way she blended into the forest, so he crashed through the undergrowth in a desperate attempt not to lose her. They were going deeper into the woods than the stallion had ever been before, and at that pace he certainly wouldn't be able to look for landmarks to familiarize himself with the area and get himself back out. Hopefully the blunt trail he was making would be able to lead him home if he got lost.

She came to an abrubpt halt, hovering mid-air for a moment as she assessed her surroundings before making a sharp left turn. When she finally paused it was because she had heard something. She darted into a knothole of a nearby tree, peeking out from within it while listening carefully. Was that Teli?

Kal caught up in a hurry once the little one stopped so suddenly, but 'caught up' quickly became 'about to run into', so he tried to halt his frantic charge. He was only relieved she had moved to the left, so when his hooves skidded in the dead leaves and his side slammed into a nearby tree she wasn't completely flattened in the process. The loud thud that resulted probably would have disrupted the little mare's attentive listening.

By this point he looked like a complete mess, his golden hooves were all dirtied up, leaves adorned his mane, and he was a little scratched up in places, but at least he was still game to help her search for her missing Teli. Well, after he used his teeth to tug off a dead branch that had gotten tangled in one wing.

She listened for a moment longer before fluttering out of her hiding place, bouncing up and down in the air as she slowly made her way towards a pond. When she landed it was in a rather large hoofprint. "Teli was here."

Kal followed at a slower pace, stopping where she did and dropping his head to look at the giant hoofprint in the soft ground at the pond's edge. The unicorn that left that mark must have been massive by Kal's standards, and it made him feel so much smaller by comparison as he stepped back to look around the area. Two of his own hoofprints could probably have fit neatly into the mark Tapanga stood in.

There were only clear tracks near the pond, but it looked like there were some scuff marks in the dead leaves where the tracks left off. "I think we should try looking in this direction," the little stallion said, raising a wing to gesture towards that area.

Telikos was massive by her standards... But she had always known him as a 'gentle giant' of sorts, even if his personality was a bit abrasive. He was one of the Good Guys which, in her book, made him far better than the Bad Guys no matter what size he was.

"Why does Kal think that? Kal doesn't think Teli will come back here?" Her brow furrowed slightly. Her attention was waning... There were flowers here. Flowers that tasted yum and water to wash them down. It was a nice place; a very nice place. Alot like the place that she'd left behind long, long, long, big time ago.

Kal dropped his head again to look at the marks in the ground. "The hoofprints disappear over there, which means they went over there, and there are some less obvious marks in the leaves just beyond that. Those were probably made recently. I don't know if your Teli will come back, but following the tracks are probably better than just waiting."

He trotted to the edge of the pond clearing where the scuff marks led into the underbrush, and was glad to see more signs of a large creature's passage. It might be difficult to track, but not impossible.

"M'kay... If Kal says so." She lifted herself back into the air, fluttering not far from the stallion's shoulder. This time she'd let him lead the way. Tracks weren't something she had every learned to follow. She had always let her memory guide her... And it wasn't always right.

Kal was a little unnerved to have someone so small right next to him, he didn't want to make a move and accidentally hurt her or anything, but he carefully started deeper into the forest.

He could only hope he was going in the right direction, he would follow the scuff marks to where he could see a broken branch, and from there move to a bush with some green leaves lying on the ground. All the while he kept his eyes and ears open, hoping to catch a more convincing sign of the big unicorn's presence.

The alicorn should have seen him right about the time they nearly ran into one another. He had heard a rather familiar (rather loud and obnoxious) voice and he'd come to investigate leaving everything else behind. His brow lofted slightly as he straightened himself out and snorted. "Well, well... What do we have here?"

"Teli!" She shrieked with delight before zipping towards the large stallion, buzzing around him for a bit before flitting back towards Kal. "Found him! Found him!"

Kal's straightening out took a little longer, since he took a couple hasty steps backwards so he could both get out of the large unicorn's personal space and have an easier time looking up at him. Then he had to toss his head to get his long bangs out of his eyes, and he couldn't help but paw nervously at the ground.

"I-I'm s-sorry!" The small stallion stammered his apology for the near miss, rather flustered by the confrontation. Nearly running into such a large soquili was very different from simply seeing the hoofprints.

He snorted softly, giving his head a toss before eyeing the smaller male. "Straighten up, boy! Skittering about like that as if you've just seen a ghost; you're just as bad as that little mare." His eyes narrowed. "Like does draw to like though. Flighty little things."

She seemed oblivious to the fact that Telikos spoke 'negatively' about her. She rarely paid any mind to the 'bad things' anymore since the Dark Lady had told her that Teli!Teli was full of 'hot air'. She was, of course, never to tell Telikos that he'd been called a 'windbag'.

Kal was used to being called small, and it would certainly be appropriate for the large stallion to refer to him as such, but so much of it all at once wasn't something he could handle well. But he did straighten up, and his feathers rose on his wings, and he firmly planted his feet and ceased his pawing.

"I'm not a boy," he said, for once wanting to say a lot more. He certainly wasn't as flighty as the little mare he had helped, that was for sure.
