Gah! She couldn't believe it! She'd done it again! Somehow she had lost TeliTeli and Lady. They were always moving faster than she was... Or waking up earlier than she did... Or asking her to scout ahead.
Well, Teli always asked her to scout ahead. Where he went from that was always a mystery which then lead to the matter of trying to find him. He was a big, white stallion with pretty shinies and a loud Miss Lady. He shouldn't be all that hard to find, should he? Of course not.
At least, he wouldn't have been hard to find if she didn't often find herself distracted. Her current distraction had been a nice patch of berries with a bush that was just the perfect size for perching. She had nestled into it, munching away. Berries made up for loosing TeliTeli and they also made a nice breakfast. Mmmmm. Breakfast.

Kal would have said adventuring in this direction had been a success. Although the forest had looked a little dark from the outside, once he got in his eyes adjusted easily to the dimmer light, and the sun still filtered down through the canopy and flickered on his white hide and glittering gold markings. With his cloven hooves the uneven terrain wasn't as bad as he expected either, and it was an easy thing for him to pick his way through the underbrush between the large trees.
But what truly astounded him about the area was it's diverse plant life. Every couple steps he saw a new plant to try, and as a result he had hardly made it deep into the forest at all for all the nibbling he was doing. Although he occasionally ran into a foul taste, most plants were edible, or even tasty, and the berries and fruits he had sampled were certainly better than anything he could find out on the plains where he usually stayed.
One by one he nibbled at plants as he passed, until he came upon another strange looking berry bush. He lowered his muzzle to nibble at some of the berries, but he wouldn't have objected to trying some of the leaves as well.

She had been fine... Perfectly fine minding her own bussiness surrounded by berries and the comfortable shade that the bush's branches had provided. Everything had been just perfect... And then she felt a tug at her tail. Her eyes went wide as she turned just in time to see a large muzzle with teeth attatched to it. TEETH.
She let out a loud squeak as she tried to tug her tail free, petite wings flailing about as she pawed at the bush with her hooves, sending berries flying. "Lemmego! Lemmego! Don't eat Tapanga! She doesn't taste good! LEMMEGOOOOO!"

Kal's eyes widened, and he abruptly spat out his mouthful of leaves, berries, and tail and pranced backwards in a horrible fright. He had never eaten a bush that had squeaked at him before, but this one certainly just did. At first he thought maybe it was a spook, but then chided himself through his fright for letting Van get to him with all her talk of spooks.
The delicate little stallion resisted the urge to just turn tail and bolt, but he didn't take any step closer even once he was sure the bush wouldn't just rise up on it's roots and come after him.

Once her tail was spit out she darted towards the nearest tree, perching herself on one of the lower branches. She huffed and snorted as she made certain that everything was still in place before glaring down at the Soquili that had tried to eat her. Had it been one of the fangy meat-eaters she wouldn't have gotten away. This was just a... A silly boy!
"You! You down there! No eat Tapanga!" After a moment she hopped off of the branch, fluttering closer so that she could attempt to examine the stallion's mouth to make sure none of her feathers or beads were clinging to his lips. "Berries okay to eat. Not Tapanga."

Kal blinked, all his fears about spooks and soquili-eating berry bushes forgotten for the moment. Had that tiny little mare been inside the bush and made all that fuss? Granted it would be worth making such a fuss if one were afraid of being eaten, even if it was intentional.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't see you there," the small stallion stuttered apologetically to the tiny female, trying to stay as still as possible as she flew closer to him. She was indeed the smallest little soquili he had ever seen, and wouldn't want to accidentally hurt her by ducking his head or flicking his tail.

She snorted softly, giving another indignant huff before landing on the ground in front of the stallion. Rather than stay as small as she currently was and wind up crushed beneath his hooves she focused her attentions (a hard task in her case) on changing her size. With a little *pop* she found herself standing before him, now slightly larger than a foal with the build of a full grown mare.
"Better. No more munchies now, yes?" Her brow lofted slightly as she gave her small head a light toss. "Tapanga." She bowed her head as if nodding to herself before glancing back at the stallion. "Who're you?"

If it were any other stallion, it was likely the mare would still be called pretty small by their standards. But Kal hadn't quite managed to hit the average stallion's size so her own stature was now much more comparable to his own. Thankfully for the white stallion's pride, she was still smaller than he.
He shook his head in agreement that there would indeed be no more munching, and then nodded, and finally spoke up when bidden. "I-I'm Kal, pleased to meet you."

She eyed the stallion once more from this new height, realizing that there were a few things that she could see from here that she hadn't noticed before... Even if she'd been so high up above him before. White fur, fluffy tail-thing, golden horn... This stallion reminded her of...
"TeliTeli." She said without warning, brow furrowing slightly. "Have you seen him? Big guy. Big tail, gold horn, white.. Tall. Biiiiiiig, big. Much bigger than Tapanga. Doesn't have wingies like Kal though..." She could continue to ramble on for a while, coming up with one description after another as far as Telikos went. She probably would continue to ramble on unless she was interrupted.

Kal blinked, both startled and confused at the brown one's outburst. As it was he let her ramble on for a bit on a description of the soquili she was apparently looking for. He only spoke up when she paused once to breathe, mistaking that for an opening in which he could reply.
"I haven't seen anyone in this forest," he said regretfully, but he was too kind hearted to just leave it at that. "Did you need help looking for him?"

She pranced around on her hooves for a moment, turning her gaze towards the forest before glancing back at the stallion. "N-... Maybe? Tapanga always finds him somewhere. He's quick. And tricky. Always moving somewhere different. Never in the same place. Never ever." One of these days he would be and that was when she'd be caught offguard.
"If you were bigger where would you be?" It seemed like a good question to ask... Afterall, Kal and Teli had several things in common. Maybe they'd have more?

Unfortunately Kal was rather sensitive about his slight build, and the feathers on his wings immediately fluffed up a bit to make himself look larger. The little stallion probably wasn't even aware he was doing it.
"I don't think size has anything to do with where I would be at any given time." He said, trying to protect his dignity. By that point he would probably go help the little mare hunt down this big, quick, tricky stallion just to prove he could do it despite being smaller than most other stallions.

"It might... If Tapanga were big, big like Teli, she wouldn't be inside a bush." Then again, she might be... But that would have to be a really big bush and she had never seen a bush that big before. "She would be... Out stomping grass, maybe. RAWR." She stomped around for emphasis, spreading her wings out in her own attempt to seem larger.

Kal's fluffing unconsciously settled itself as he realized Tapanga did have a point, even if it was a little oddly worded. With his dignity soothed he was better able to concentrate on the problem at hand.
"Where was the last place you saw him?" The little stallion asked, tossing his head a bit to get his long bangs out of his eyes. Sometimes he thought it figured, the only place in his mane to grow out since foalhood was the one place that longer hair would irritate him most.

Her brow furrowed slightly as she tried to recall exactly where she had last come across Telikos... Nevermind when. "Teli was... By biiiiiiiiig water with Lady and her shinies." She recalled this because Lady had tried to eat her which hadn't been pleasant at all. "Lady is very grouchy in morning... Like big lion without fangs."
