Gabriel, the boy's guardian, had gotten a message a few weeks back from his home realm. A massive war was slowly making its way to his homeland and he was needed to help arrange a strategy and mobilize the armies according to those strategy. Gillian was far too young for such matters, and the risk of harm coming to the boy was far too much for the elf to stand. So after making arrangements, the child was put in the care of his close friend Yukito and his guardian. Gabriel had often looked out the window of their home, watching Yukito and Gillian conversing over what the child was capable of. He'd explained very carefully the situation, knowing he had brought Gil up in a mind state enough to understand.
It was still hard to accept it. It would be the first time that Gabriel would be gone for so long... the recent death of his horse was still pretty heavy on the infant's mind though he tried hard to keep in high spirits most of the time.
He sat on the steps of the manner, watching the wind ripple over the grass on the hills. Waves of emerald and silver moving like water over land. The colors were so vibrent, so vivid and alive. He found peace in the land, in the natural colors, the endless blue of the sky, the grays and whites of the clouds- blues and greens hidden in those grays. The grass- gray and green, yellows, and whites. The soil had flicks of red, yellow, and all sorts of grays, it was amazing how the colors broke down.
Rune Traverse "Bwover!" "Siser!" Rune sighed, massaging her temples as she headed up the path to the mansion. Of her four infants, Daimon and Angel were still slightly under the weather, and so were napping back home. Unfortunately, with Morgan at home under siege, Aimee taking proficiency exams at the Tenjutsu Academy, and Allie nursing some of the older children and keeping an eye on the babies, that meant Rune had to bring Horo Horo with her and Yvette to visit the Sin. Which meant their argument could continue unabated. "Bwover." Horo Horo waved a fisted teething ring for emphasis. A Shaman child with spiky blue hair and a love of food, he was only slightly older than Yvette, still an infant. His blue eyes were intent. "Mow oys." "Siser." Yvette countered, voice and dark green eyes firm. Her own little hands, tattooed with dark green, vine-like markings around the wrists and forearms, flapped airily the way she'd seen her Aunts do when they dismissed something. For a baby with her lack of years, she was surprisingly talkative, though sometimes her child-talk was a little hard to understand. "Giwl beh-er." "You guys, that's enough." Rune raised an eyebrow, craning her head back to look at the two strapped in a double carrier on her back. "I don't want to hear any more about it." Horo Horo frowned slightly, then nodded, grinning at Yvette. "Bwover AN siser." Yvette giggled, nodding in unison. "Two. Bes!" Rune groaned. "I am NOT adopting two more. Four of you little nuts at a time is my limit." Looking forward again, she spotted Gillian, and her brow furrowed slightly. What was a little boy doing by himself on the porch?
He smiled a bit, listening to the arguement behind him. Gabriel hadn't even expected him to have one child in his care. The odds of him getting a sibling was pretty slim. He wished he could stress how fortunate the children were to have eachother. He had his books, his daydreams, and his studies. That should be enough.
A long cow-like tail curled around him as he turned, feeling eyes on him. A pair of deep blue eyes slowly met with those that had fallen on him, joined soon by a gentle smile. "Hello Ma'am."
For such a young infant, he had already developed a bit of an accent- sweet and gentle like those of the elves. He had been raised by one afterall. They stressed very heavily on the gentle prounounciation of each word, the softness and sweetness of the voice- and having been an intligent people, he was quick to learn how to speak. Of course, large words were still difficult.
Rune Traverse Rune blinked, rather surprised to find a child as eloquent as her own Yvette at this stage. More, really, since Yvette tended to speak with an American accent; she heard quite a few languages at home, but so far, she'd only picked up a few words in the differing tongues. "Hello, sweetie. Who're you?" Yvette craned her head, peering through Rune's hair at the baby on the porch. Oooo, another baby! She hadn't seen a fellow Sin baby since Cameo, and Cameo had grown a while back. A friend! She wriggled slightly, eyes wide and giggling. "Fwend." She waved. "Hi." "Fwend." Horo Horo agreed, grinning down at Gillian and waving his teething ring. "Hi Hi. Why sotted?"
He smiled again, chuckling at the two other children that had taken notice of him. "My name is Gillian. Most call me Gil for shorter." He still had a bit of baby talk, but it was improving with practice. He had the time for it in recent days and Yukito was always there to help him if he asked him. "And... your name?"
The other two piped in right after that, both seeming pretty eager to talk to him. The first one had already called him friend, bringing a blush to his face and a bit of a shy smile, his head ducking into his shoulders. "Friend?... well...I...su....p...pose."
Sotted? Sot.... he looked to his tail, running a hand over the black and white dotted tail, Shrugging a bit he looked back up to Horo Horo, "Because that is how I am." He was pertty at terms with what he was. He and his sister were perhaps the smallest of the sin children. Each only having half the make and ingrediants for a single child- each was half the size, half the health, but as Yukito said- it didn't mean he was half the person. Junkie had grown already, leaving him to be the absolute smallest- not that he minded. Yukito said it made him different. "Your names too?"
Rune Traverse Rune smiled, entranced, and sat gently down beside Gillian, carefully unhooking the carrier and freeing her own two infants. "I'm Rune, Gil. This is Yvette," she touched the little blonde's head, and the baby giggled merrily, "she's a Sin like you. And this is Horo Horo, he's a Shaman." "Gil." Horo Horo tried the name out, then nodded slowly. "Gil han - han - " He frowned, trying to pronounce the word he was thinking of, then gave up. Pretty would work just as well, after all. "Gil sots pitty. Horns pitty too." Yvette gently held up a hand, palm to Gil. "Fwend Seen." She grinned impishly. "Coot."
Gillian tilted his head to one side, "Nice names. Yve n'....Horo for short?" He wasn't sure if they appreciated nicknames in the least. Some didn't, some did. It was always polite to ask. "Nice to meet all of you." He said again with a polite bow of his head, putting a hand to his chest in the traditional elfin greeting.
Sitting himself upright he returned his hands to his lap, looking between the children as their races were introduced. "Shaman are wise. Gabe told me." He smiled a bit, "They have healing in their hands I think. Respe.....t... a lot." He looked a bit embarassed at not being able to say it, but quickly distracted himself with the complements. "P...pretty?" he blushed a bit, reaching up to feel at his horns, they were horribly sharp- and looked it. He had to be careful in feeling them, he'd pricked himself far too many times.
"Why...th...thank yo..u... you are pretty too, Yuve."
Then Horo's hand, he paused, looking at the hand. Perhaps he was offering a handshake? Gabriel said it was how -gentlemen- said hello. Smiling he reached out and shook the boy's hand- his own hand dwarfed in size. "Yes, friend."
Rune Traverse "Evie." Yvette informed him her nickname, grinning, and blushed a little at the compliment. She liked this boy! He reminded her of her Aunty's people, the ones with the pointy ears, and they were her favorites. Horo Horo nodded, shaking hands cheerfully. This boy was polite and well-raised, just like his cousins. "No hewl." He couldn't heal, that was more his Mother's specialty. "See sirits. Gostiees." Rune said nothing, just sat carefully and watched. She could see the signs already; Yvette liked Gil, especially because he could speak so well for such a little guy. And judging by Horo Horo's expression, the little boy was quite pleased with his sister's playmate. The mother had to admit she was a little taken with the boy herself. He might not be related to the elves of her own world, but there was definitely something of the pointy-eared elegance in his manners.
"Evie then." He smiled with another nod, "I like it, it's very fitting."
He hadn't really gotten to know many of the other children, it was nice to have more of a knowlege of who he was alike in race. They all looked so different, dispite being the same. He was sure that Gabriel would have something poetic and meaningful to say on the matter. He always seemed that way. He was probibly staring too long over the girl's features, more of a curious interest than anything. She was pretty- he hadn't met anyone that was likewise. In personality, perhaps- but he'd never actually spoken to that one.
Horo's voice snapped his attention back to him, "Ghosts? Wh....the.....dead ones?" He tilted his head to the side, looking a bit confused. "I thought they weren't real..."
He chuckled a bit, "I have friends in the flowers. They are like us you know. They need help grow....nin."
The book was a bit of a suprise. Flich had shown him books- all in the common language that Gabriel always talked about. Gabriel had elvish books, volumes of them all along the walls of his study. He promised to teach Gillian how to read and write all languages he knew whenever he was old enough- for the moment, the boy only knew how to read and write his name.
Looking down a bit he shook his head slowly, "I.... cannot read yet. I am sorry..."
Rune Traverse (I almost beat it, but I was renting, and it was time to return. *is asking for it for her birthday* Heh heh, Jeane recommended it, and so I'm addicted.) Horo Horo nodded, pleased his friend knew what he was talking about. "Gosts fwends - weal to me." He motioned to his mother and Yvette. "Mummy, Evie no see. Not der magic. Sha-man magic." Yvette smiled. She quite liked this new little friend of hers. He reminded her of Flitch, in his own way. Digging in the bag her mother had set down, she held up a slightly-battered copy of childrens' fables, apparently written in some sort of Elvish script. "Gil wead?"
He chuckled a bit, "I have friends in the flowers. They are like us you know. They need help grow....nin."

Rune Traverse Yvette patted Gil's arm gently. "Kay. Evie an Oro no wead eeder." She opened the book and pointed to a picture of an apparently elvish young woman seated on a stone bench before a small cottage, playing a harp with a Ki-rin at her feet. "Ike piters. An Mummy wead."
"That is a kirin." He said with a slight gasp of awe, "Gabriel tells me about them all the time. He knows some that have them... n...", he looked at the woman in the picture, turning his head a bit more to get a better look, "...wood elf. See?" He smiled, at least he thought it was. She looked fine-featured enough... and they always seemed closer to animals than anything.
"Gabe is an elf- high I think. He says they mostly have brown hair."
Rune Traverse "In the world I come from, they're a bit rare, but they're sometimes pets." Rune ruffled Gil's hair between his horns, smiling. "That lady is an elf from Illuzen. They're not quite the same as the elves in other dimensions, but I think she's a High elf. The Illuzen elves have different sub-species. I think she's a Tallic, or one of the royal elves." Horo Horo nodded. "Auni haf bond hawer." He explained earnestly to Gil. "Tawwic elves haf bight hawer."
"Gabe tells me that they are very smart, very pretty." He had a bit of a distant tone, sort of dreamy, "He is going to where there is a lot..." he giggled, reaching up to bat playfully at Rune's hand as she ruffled his hair, "Careful, careful!" He was very, very concious about those horns of his. Even Gabriel had a few nicks here and there from a few accidents- on both their parts, "Very sharp..." He thumped one of his horns, "Very careful."
He looked back to Horo, nodding his head a bit. "I want to meet lots of them one day. We can both perha....p...s."
Rune Traverse Rune laughed, amused by the little boy. "Some of my kids have horns too - I had to learn early how to ruffle hair right." She told him in a mock-serious tone. Then, surprised, she added, "You've never seen a lot of Elves?" "We take!" Yvette nearly toppled over, she was bouncing so hard. She could take her friend to meet her cousins, the elves! They could go to the cool city where her Auntie and Uncle lived in the big house! She bet Gil would like that. Horo Horo nodded too, tugging at Rune's sleeve. "Take Gil! Pweese?"
Gillian's eyes went wide, looking between the two. He could go? They knew where there were lots of them? Gabriel lived in a place where they were, lots of them, but he couldn't go at the moment because of the war. It was discouraging but now he had the chance to see more. What would they think of him? So tall and beautiful and him so small and... well small. "I would...very much like that." He said, containing his excitement as best he could, "Gabe tells me of ones with wings. They are...ruling where he has his first home. I want to see that too."
Rune Traverse Rune grinned. "They're not the same as your dad's elves, probably, but they're fun." She patted Horo Horo's head as the little Shaman beamed. "Hmmm, elves with wings? We have Celestials - Yvette and Horo Horo's uncle is a half Celestial, and we visit there sometimes. Do you think your Guardian would mind?"
"I can ask when he comes back...", he looked away, then down at his feet, "I am being watched by Yuki. Gabe went... to help a war." He slumped down a bit, his tail curling around to rest in his hand, the thin fingers picking through the black and white fur that made the tuft of his tail. Something he did normally out of nervous habbit. "I want to go though... I want to see it though. When I get older, I want to be like one." He smiled, looking between the three, "I do...not want to be a bother."
Rune Traverse If Rune's heart hadn't already melted with this sweet little boy, his comment about the war - and not wanting to be a bother - would've done it completely. She knew what it was like to leave children behind during a battle, even a long skirmish, but for a war? She'd never done that, and she honestly prayed she'd never have to. Even when the children had people who loved them and cared for them, it never replaced the parents that had gone away. "You could never be a bother, Gil." She assured the little Sin, fighting an urge to pick him up and hug him. "You're welcome to come hang out at our house or go with us any time you want." Yvette, too, nodded seriously and scooted close to Gil, hugging his little shoulders. "Gil fwend, come pway all times." She insisted. Horo Horo looked solemn. "Gil no boder. Take see Aunni, get nanie." He grinned, almost shyly. "Aunni give choc-ate, good nanie."
"Really?" he blushed a bit, sinking into his shoulders and looking away, his tail fluffing up in his hands. They were being so kind, it was flattering really, he didn't understand how they could be so kind to someone they'd just only met. Perhaps... it was more of the elfin mannerism. It was flattering, "...I...thank you...very much." He looked between the three of them again, leaning into the minature hug with a bit of a chuckle.
"...how do you play?" He looked over to them, tilting his head to the side just slightly. "I touch you... and run away? Then you catch me? I did that...once I think."

Posted: Thu Dec 01, 2005 9:02 pm - In-Thread RP between Thalion & Rune Traverse - [~]Gabriel reconised the woman in the doorway... the children were a bit harder to place. Squinting a bit he allowed his dappled charger to walk itself up to the front of the manner before he slid down. He looked tired but pleased enough. Glad to be home if anything, it had been a trying few weeks. The war was about to begin and it was time he felt, having done his part to help. All was in order.
"Miss Rune if I remember correctally...", he bowed his head a bit, "What a pleasent way to return. How have you been?" Rune Traverse "It's mister Gabriel!" Rin squealed, though how she knew who Gabriel was could be anyone's guess. Skidding into the doorway, she hugged the Elven man happily. "Where's Gilly? Didja' bring him? Mummy has a present for you!" "Rin!" Rune sighed, though her eyes were bright with amusement, and nodded to Gabriel. "A pleasure to see you again, as well. We've been quite good, all things considered. Yourself?" "He's at home still...", he smiled, reaching down to ruffle the girl's hair as she hugged him. She was quite adorable. "I've not been back, I'm sure he's doing well... he was in Yukito's care, the boy is reliable enough.
"I've been well. The work was long... quite a difficult situation our army is in." He shrugged a bit, reaching a welcome hand out, "But it's good to hear that everyone's doing well." Rune Traverse "Can Mama bring him here?" Rin beamed and wagged her tail. "He has to be here when you gets your present!" Rune sighed wryly, taking Gabriel's hand as Yvette and Horo Horo both began squeaks and baby-babbles of delight. This was Gil's daddy! Rin said so! The Water Slider grinned sheepishly. "She is slightly right, though I thought you might want to settle down a bit first." "Well I have a better idea." He chuckled, glancing between the girl and Rune, "How about you all join me for dinner at my place? I got plenty for everyone and I always do make too much." He motioned down the road, "It's really not far from here actually... I can meet you there or show you the way. Either way." Rune Traverse "Oooo, can we mom?!?" Rin's eyes were wide, and Rune grinned as the dusty-blue-haired little girl beside the kitsune nodded vigorously. "Well, we've already eaten, but we'd be happy to come visit. We can walk."s "Ak!" Yvette giggled, and Angel nodded, grinning. This was going to be fun! He nodded a bit, motioning for them to follow after him, "It's really not much of a long walk. I do have some light snacks or drinks if you'd like."
His mount grunted as the elf placed his hand on it's thick neck, guiding it at his side. The small colt watched the children from behind the dappled stallion. All things considered it looked very much like a normal horse- save for it's four extra legs.
"More people? Which one's mine?" It grunted, looking up towards the elf.
"No no, he's at home. These are some of his friends."
The colt turned his head to the side, leaning forward to sniff at Rin, "They're fun looking."Rune Traverse "Thanks!" Rin giggled, and with her general frankness, answered the mount. "I've never seen a horse like you. Or are you a horse? Sometimes calling someone a horse is an insult, but I don't mean it like that." Rune laughed and rolled her eyes, manuvering the infant-laden stroller onto the path again. The little girl following behind them - and holding tight to Rune's belt loop with one hand - peeked out at Gabriel with interest. Rune touched the little girl's head gently. "This is Karaya, by the way. She's one of my younger ones. How're you doing, anyway?" The colt snorted, shaking his short mane out, "Well I'm a sleipnir. That's a silly question. I run twice as fast as a horse- or.... a little one anyway." He walked beside the small girl, poking his nose into her side a bit, "We're not many.. not... much.... there's... little bit of us. Yeah." His head turned to the side, glancing to the wheely thing, "A little cart? What's in it.. carrots?"
Gabriel kept up to pace with Rune, bowing his head to the other girl, "Pleased to meet you." Looking back to Rune, "Oh I'm doing as well as can be expected. It's been a long few weeks... good to be back."Rune Traverse Rin giggled. "My brothers and sisters are in it!" She petted the colt's head, completely at ease with the young creature. "Well, my brothers, sisters and cousin. They're even smaller than me, and hu-man-oid babies aren't like horse babies or sleipnir babies. We can't walk or run right away." Karaya smiled shyly, though she blushed and ducked back behind her mother. Rune nodded, the expression on her face saying that she DID understand what Gabriel meant. "Yes, I imagine it was. Gil seemed to miss you quite a bit." "And I missed him...", he said through a sigh. Lords did he feel horrid for leaving the boy all alone here... even if he was with one of his friends it must have been so hard for him to understand that Gabriel wouldn't come back for a while, "Oh yes, how did that.... thing go? The event. Such strange holidays here I cannot remember it's name... he had me make a costume for him...."
The colt whinnied in laughter, "You're all little, that's why you need us around so you can get places faster. Don't worry though, it's not your fault you don't have enough legs."Rune Traverse Rin laughed. "Fair 'nuff." She said agreeably, grinning. "But you couldn't feed yourself apples or brush your own coat, either. And I can run real fast!" "Halloween." Karaya said softly, then blushed and ducked her head. Rune grinned. "Yep, Halloween. It went quite well. Gil went as Hugo from Suikoden, he was adorable. And he went on a hayride!" She paused. "There was a - slight problem with him, Yuki and Yvette, but it got smoothed over quickly." Gabriel nodded, "He had me make the costume. Another child had shown him a picture and he'd liked it so well. Not easy that outfit... adjusting it for his tail and all, but he was happy. I'm glad he got involved with the other children. I've been afraid that he won't be as social as I'd like him to be."
"Apples when they fall... but they're normally bad by then." His snout wrinkled up, remembering the time he'd thought that brown on an apple didn't mean rotten- instead it might have meant just another flavor of apple, "But... that's why two-leggers team up." Rune Traverse Rune laughed. "So, you don't play Suikoden, I take it?" She raised an eyebrow, suddenly unsure. "Ewwwww." Rin's nose wrinkled as well, and she made a horrible face. Then, laughing, she petted the colt's head. "And I like teaming up - we get to meet wonderful creatures this way." "Is... it a child's game like...tag or seek and hide?" He looked down at her, looking very much confused. It had to be a game of some sort.. unless it was a person to play with.
The colt grinned, "I get a partner when we get to the house. The elf said I get a home now. My mother was...", he looked away again, "Well she's in the white lands now. I'll be just as fast as her." Rune Traverse "A video game." Rune grinned, guessing the elf hadn't played them before. "A series, actually." She paused, looking around. "Where's your house?" Rin looked sad and scratched between the colt's ears. "My brother Shiran lost his mom and dad too." She said softly. "Mum adopted him. But I bet you will be just as fast as your mom, and she'll be proud of you in the white lands. And your new partner is real nice, Yvette and Horo Horo both said so." Gabriel smiled and pointed ahead. A large mannor rose out of the horizon, a massive estate with large beds of flowers around a few fountains. The house was fashioned in the elfin style of buildings, everything very open, large round windows, a large door behind a set of pillars, plantlife creeping up the pillars along the walls of the house. Most of the plants were exotic to the area but Rune might reconize a few. "Nothing too impressive... but it's home."
A good distraction for not knowing what these.. "video games" were about.
"I hope so." he shook out his mane, trotting up beside Gabriel as he pointed out his house, "Lots of places to run!"Rune Traverse Rune smiled, nodding as she looked over the manor. The Elven race Gabriel hailed from might not be exactly the same as those she knew, but there were definite similarities. "It's beautiful." She said quietly. "I bet Gil loves it here." Gil! Having been bored out of her skull listening to the adult conversation, Yvette's attention snapped back with that one word. Her Gil was in that house! "GILLLLLLLLLLLYYY!" She yelled, quite loud for one so small. "GILLLLLLLLYYYYYY!!!" Horo Horo joined in. Rin listened to them yell, laughing. "I bet Gilly knows someone's here to visit him." She said, grinning. "It would be hard to miss." Gabriel shook his head a bit, walking calmly down towards the front gates. The small colt whinnied with the excitement everyone was expressing, rearing up on his hind legs and kicking the front ones. "Well... speak of the little devil."
A small pair of horns poked up from the flowerbed follwed by a sleepy pair of eyes, looking around slowly. "Nn....." He looked up slowly rubbing at his eyes with a pair of tiny hands, "Hmm?" Looking up finally, the sleep fading from his mind he smiled, waving his hands around. He was home! And he brought his friends, "Hii!"Rune Traverse Rune smiled, stepping back for the father and son to greet each other with a softened expression. She couldn't help it - Flint had once commented that family was her one weakness, and he'd been right. Rin giggled, cheering. "Gil gets his daddy back!" Karaya, too, looked pleased. Gabriel chuckled, running at the boy to scoop him up into his arms, lifting him up to get a look at him, "How ever did I know you'd be in the flower bed?" He smirked, shaking his head at Gil, "You got a bed you know..."
Gillian reached his hands down, "Gabe!" He laughed, tugging at the elf's robes until he pulled him close for a hug. "I... missed you."
"You're a good boy...", he glanced to the others, nodding towards them as he set Gillian down on his feet, "They came to see you too."
Gil chuckled, looking over to the others with a shy wave. They'd come to see him?

Jeanemon Mignon stared up at the snow coming from the sky. Dressed in a warm red wool ensamble, she was comfortably warm. She scooped snow into her mittens and tossed the ball up into the air several times. Augh. She was bored. Idly, she scanned the area around her looking for something to hit with the snowball.
Gillian made his way out into the open between his home and Chaco's. Gabriel wasn't too far off but would give him some space to allow the boy some freedom of his own. The new baby, Hugo, remained bundled up with Gabriel on the back of the elf's dappled stallion, watching his foster brother.
Gillian had never seen snow, but he'd read about it. Whatever it was, it was up to his chest and horribly cold, hard to move though... like water only thicker. "Nn...nn... nn..." He almost had to swim to get anywhere. Sighing he got up on his toes- still only able to make out white.
Jeanemon Aha, movement! Mignon honed in on the movement somewhat like a shark, holding the snowball above her head. She gave the snowball an underhand at the figure. "Hey!" She called, laughing. "Who goes there?"
Gillian looked up as a ball of white soared towards him, clipping one of his horn and sending a slight spray of the white powder down at his head. Laughing a bit he reached up to dust out the powder from his already slightly dampened hair, "Hey!" He laughed again, jumping up and down to see over the snow. A flash of blonde.. a bit more... c'mon he had to see a face. Oh! It was Mig.
The tiny Sin stopped jumping and simply waved his arms around, "Mig!"
Jeanemon A smile broke out over the girl's face. "Gilly!" She called, scooping the boy up and giving him a kiss on the cheek. "How are you doing, my darling little friend? I haven't seen you in forever?" She asked, beaming. D'aww. Gilly was just so cute.
Gillian giggled as he was picked up, reaching up quickly to cover his horns so he didn't catch her on them. He was very, very careful with them before- not even more that he had another infant around the house. His cheeks and nose were red from the cold but blushed a bit more at the smooch, "Mig's big." He said softly, looking up at her with a wider grin, "Very pretty."
Jeanemon Awww. How couldn't she like someone who complemented her? "Thanks, Gilly." She beamed. "Do you wanna go inside and hunt around, or play in the snow out here?" Now that there was someone to hang with, she didn't care either way.
"I've never seen snow." He looked down towards the white puff again, he liked it but it was bloody hard to get anywhere though it. "I looked in... a book how to make houses from snows but I can't." He chuckled, pointing to himeself, "Too little alone. We can play in the snow and make a house? Both kind of..."
Jeanemon "This is my first time seeing snow, too." She told him, looking around for a good place to sit him down. "You're so little, I don't want you to drown in all this white fluff." Finding a good hollow, she sat him back down. "Now, build a snow house? Do you like make lots of little snowballs and pack them together?"
He looked a bit embarassed at his height, grabbing his tail as he was set down to fuss with it, "Yeah... gotta stack it like... a..", dome was the word he needed but it just didn't come to mind. He thought for a moment and made a motion with his hands, "Like a ball.. only half." Yeah, that would work, "I tried but I fell on it trying to make it big 'nuff to go in. Gabe said I had to come in after that... I got snow down my shirt."
His guardian wasn't being cruel- but Gillian had very fragile health and being outside in the cold too long was dangerous, he was allowed about an hour each day as long as he took a warm bath afterwards... neither Gillian really minded but the baths always seemed too long.
"I can make the bottom- and you the top?" He looked up again, smiling, "Then we can play in it."
Jeanemon "Awwww, poor guy." She could just see him trying so hard and not being able to get everything made. So cute. "Sounds good to me." And she started to roll snowballs. "You're such a smart little fellow." She commented, smiling down at him.
He chuckled, scuffling himself through the snow to kind of roll up his own batch of snow. Of course he had to stop and pad it tighter, he'd figured that out after a few tries to make just a simple snow-fort earlier to show Gabe. "Flitch reads to me." He looked over a shoulder, "Gabe does to but in a'nother language. Elf...ith? ish... Elf..is....anese?" He grumped a bit, looking down to the snowball, "Elf talk."
Nodding he continued working with his snowball, dropping down to a crawl to push the snow along the ground. He sunk in pretty well, his shoulders poking out from his crawl just above the snow. "You're smart too. I didn't think to make snow balls first... just the wall."
Jeanemon "Flitch? I haven't seen him in forever..." She hadn't seen a lot of people for a long time, actually. The social butterfly hadn't been able to stretch her wings, and it ticked her off. "Elfanese? No elfs around me, so I wouldn't know. People at my house talk English or in grunts and snarls." All of Jeane and Dhee's fights sounded like that, actually. "I like making snowballs, so that's the first thing I thought of." Mignon shrugged. "You way would probably work too."
Gillian chuckled, "I have not seen many people in a long time. Rune and... her family came. Gave my brother." He smiled over to her then pointed back to where Gabe watched patiantly, holding a small bundle in his arms, "Hugo. He's quiet... bigger than I am though... I'm older." He looked down again, patting at the snow. It was odd for them to be so big, maybe he thought on it too much.
The snowball was pushed up a bit higher as it got larger, now and then Gillian would pause to pack it down a bit more, "Okay... You can be the queen and... I'll be....", he paused, looking off to the side then back up at her, "You pick."
Jeanemon "Oh, Rune? Love that lady. She did some kind of magic mumbo-jumbo and now I have my own room." Rune was awesome. "It's okay that he's bigger, though. I bet you're cooler. I like you, and anyone I like has to be cool. It's a rule." "I'll be the Queen, huh? Well, I think you'd make an excelent Snow King." Score another hit in Gilly's book with that comment.
Gillian's eyes went wide, pausing to look back at her. Snow king? King? Him? He'd always imagined them being... a bit more demanding, more noble. Did she think he was noble? "Oh...well I..." he looked away a bit, blushing slightly, "I can do that... thank you, Mig." He had almost forgotten about the snow castle for a moment. His cold hands on the ball quickly reminded him and he was back to rolling, "We need names too."
Jeanemon "Aww, you'd make a good king. You're cute and good, and you make me smile. All good qualities in a king." She paused to consider the ball she was rolling, then added a happy face to it. s "Gillian would be a good name for a king. It has a good ring to it." Mignon dimpled down at him. "Jason would be a good king name, or Joshua, or Jonathan. All have good rings to 'em." She paused in rolling snowballs to put her hands on her hips. "And what would be a good queen name for me?"
"Still Mignon." He smiled, sitting himself down to mimic how she was rolling snowballs, "But name like... the something." All good rules had names like "The this or that", "The something or other". They both needed something to add onto it.
"Mignon the.... the....", he looked around a bit, "Theeee........Mignon the beautiful." He smiled, looking back, "All best queens were that."
Jeanemon "Oh, sorry, my bad." Mignon said, frowning, until she understood. When Gilly gave her her name, she beamed. "Oho! If I'm Mignon the Beautiful, you must be Gillian the Wise." That definatly raised up her opinion of the boy even higher. Cute and smart. Awww.
"Wise?" He blushed a bit more, patting the snow, "I'll try."
The boy looked up shortly as his guardian's warhorse began towards them, casting a shadow over where he was sitting.
"Gillian, hour's up." Gabriel said softly, "We don't want you to catch your death. We can make coca back at home if you'd like." The elf smiled, looking to Mignon, "And your lovely friend is welcome to come along if the'd like."
Gillian looked a bit disappointed not to have finished his castle but perked up at the mention of coca, "Mig, you like coca?"
Jeanemon Mignon was surprised at the size of the horse. She'd allways thought them to be smaller. But Gabriel's manners put her at ease and a smile on her face. She definatly liked this family. They said nice things. "We can finish the castle another time. I defantly don't want you to get sick. I think I'd cry." She patted the boy between the horns. "And Coco is awesome."
He smiled, getting himself shakily to his feet and began dusting himself off with the furry end of his cow-like tail, "I got sick once." he admitted, "Yuki made a potion.... n made me better quick."
Good thing he had... Master Chaco had said that the boy was weaker than the other children in many aspects, smaller and more fragile. A common cough would seem twice as bad so there was reason for concern over illness. He tolerated it well enough, though often times he'd admit to his distaste for having to go inside after such a short time. But coca- no one could argue that.
"Very good then." Gabriel smiled, slowly sliding himself down from his mount, "How about a ride? I'm sure that he won't mind."
The infant in his arms watched them both curiously with a pair of blue eyes.
"Oh! How rude of me." Gabriel kneeled down, allowing the infant a look to the others and Mignon a look at the baby, "This is Hugo. Rune brought him to us just recently, he'll be living with us from now on."
Jeanemon "Yuki's a real good guy." Mignon said, smiling. She turned the smile towards Gabriel. "I've never ridden a horse before." She admitted, rubbing the back of her head. "I'm Mignon, by the way. I dropped over at your home once to meet this darling little gentleman." "One of Rune's? He's a doll." She leaned in closer to get a better look and shot the infant a smile. "Cutie."
"Not one of Rune's exactally...", he smiled a bit, but it had a bit of sympathy in it, "He was abandoned... she has too many children so she left him in my care..." It was sad to think the infant had been left alone in the middle of a ruined building crying red-faced, shaking and shivering. Who on earth could think to do something so wretched? The name was a bit strange to Gabriel, something that he'd expect more from the wildlands of his old homeland but a decent name none the less.
Gillian reached up to pet the horse's knee, "He's a good horse. Walks real slow if you get scared."
Hugo smiled back at the girl, curling his hands under his chin a bit more.
Jeanemon "Poor lil' guy. At least he's got a good place now." Another smile to the little boy. Awww. Blondes were great. "Um, how do you get on a horse?" She asked, staring up at it. She trusted Gilly when he said it was a good horse, but still. Horses were big. Mignons were small. And unless she was going to get a boost or there was a chair nearby, she didn't think she could get up.

Posted: Sat Jan 07, 2006 12:24 am - In-thread RP between Thalion & Anvion [~]
Gillian sat with his back leaned up against the fence of Gabriel's estate, watching the snow fall further out along the path. Gabriel was inside tending to Hugo, his new baby brother. The boy couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of the new arrival. Younger than him- but larger. Just like his sister. Still a baby, he wasn't smart enough to understand quite why, but he did know the difference between him and the others. He wasn't allowed out too long because Gabe was worried that he'd grow ill, he had to wear a pair of bright red balls on the ends of his horns both so he didn't hurt someone on accident and so he was easily spotted.
His black-and-white blotched tail thumped on the ground, shoveled free of snow so he wasn't gettind damp. He'd been told not to leave the unshoveled areas.
He'd been bundled up horribly, a thick winter coat lined at the neck and wrists with fur, thick leather pants, thicker boots lined with fur inside and at the top, a thick knitted scarf, and a pair of gloves.
Anvion Humming aimlessly as he wandered down the road, Flitch nonchalantly swung his bag full of books as he walked. He was just heading home from the library, having decided that he wanted to read something other than Anvion's collection. Sure, she had a helluva lot of stuff, but it was quite limited when it came to genre. So the library it was!
The Sin' continued to hum, every now and then letting out a long breath just to see the mist turn all vapor-ish from the cold. Winter was so neat! And now that he was bigger, he was allowed to go out to more places by himself! Like now. He was taking another route he discovered. It was longer to get home, but far more scenic.
Upon passing a huge estate, Flitch couldn't help but stare slightly. Damn. That place was huge... But he paused. A small figure, all bundled up. Could it be...
"...Gil...? Hey Gil, is that you?"
Gillian looked up at the sound of snow crunching under a pair of feet. A figure came into veiw- familar... but different. The sin tilted his head to the side, a pair of indigo eyes studying the figure silently. It... was Flitch- much bigger than he remembered, older... and with glasses. The older sin seemed to take notice of him at the same time, taking a moment as well to identify the one sharing the area with him.
At his name he nodded slightly, smiling, "You have grown." He said a bit shyly, "N'... lots of books too." He chuckled a bit, noting the large bag. What else could it be? The first time he'd met Flitch the boy had done nothing but talk about books. Not that he minded- one of the bits of advice he clung to firmly was one Flitch had told him. "Sin's like you and I- we can't depend on our bodies but that's why we got our minds." or...something along those lines.
Gil shrugged off the thought and got to his feet, thumping at his bum to remove any snow from it.
Anvion "Yeah," Flitch said cheerily, nodding. "I got glasses, too. Probably 'cause I read too much." He laughed, pointing to his bag. "Obvious, huh? I'm just heading back from the library. I managed to find a lot of good stuff today."
Unslinging his bag, the blue-haired Sin' squatted down so that his head was closer to Gillian's. Sure, he had to get home before Anvion finished dinner, but hey! He hadn't seen Gillian in a while, and he wanted to chat for a bit. After all, he was intrigued by the quiet Sin'. "So how're you? Things going okay for you?"
Gillian chuckled a bit, the idea of needing glasses because of too much reading normaly wouldn't make much sense but Gabriel wore glasses... and he read all the time. The older elf would often explain that he couldn't see well without them and that elves normally could see very well- better than most could tolerate likely. It was a bit of a confusing thought to be able to -see- better... of course in recent days the young Sin had become more aware of colors, they seemed far more vibrent and lively than they had before. More logic he'd have to sort out over time.
"Reading is good though." he tapped his head with a shy smile, "I remember."
Concerning how he'd been- that was pretty hard to answer... so many changes. "Well...", Gil turned his head to the side a bit, "Junkie's big too...", a bit of a sore spot for him, and he didn't do too well of a job covering up that fact, "I got a new brother too." he motioned back to the house, "N' a new horse. It's got...", he paused, trying to think of the number. With a helpless shrug he looked back to Flitch, a bit embarassed, "Lots of feet."
Anvion With a giggle, Flitch nodded. "Horses do have lots of feet. I wonder if they ever get tired... The feet, I mean. And I saw Junkie," he added. "She looks good. I bet you'll grow soon, too. Don't worry too much about it. People grow at different rates."
Sensing Gil's resentment, Flitch was trying to cheer him up. After all, Gil was his friend, and Flitch never liked it when his friends got upset over things. Call it sappy, if you must, but that's just how Flitch was. He truly and honestly cared about his friends.
Gillian made a bit of a face, trying to best describe his new companion. He looked down to his hands, then nodded. "Like this." He held up his hand and made it look like a four-legged creature- more or less a dinosuar or something... Gabe pretended his hand was a spider sometimes and that seemed to do the trick. "Normal horse legs." he explained, then added four more legs to his little hand horse by bringing his other hand around, "My horse- lots more legs."
A good distraction from the subject of his growth. He wasn't bitter over it, more or less confused and a bit lonely over it. Gabriel spent so much time with Hugo now- the baby seemed as if he'd been through a lot and would need the attention. Again, Gillian didn't allow himself to blame the baby but it was something to adjust to. His better friends were all a good deal older than him, he mused about days when he could leave the house on his own to visit them, know how to read so he could know the same stories Flitch knew, that sort of thing. It would be enjoyable to actually get to stay the night at a friend's house too- he'd heard that was a lot of fun.
Anvion "Weeeird. So it's got eight legs?"
Curious. There were so many curious things in the world. But that's why it was so fun! There were just too darn many interesting things in this world. Tilting his head to the side, Flitch blinked. "Is the horse nice? Can he run real fast? I'd imagine that a horse with a lot of legs would be able to run really fast..."
Gillian nodded at the first question, mouthing the word "eight" a few times. Might help to remember that, it was difficult to think up the right word- especially when counting was still something beyond his mental ability.
At the second series he brightened up a bit more, nodding, "He says that he can run real fast!" He says- something that Gillian didn't realize most animal should be doing in this world... speaking. Of course, the colt wasn't from that world so that would explain a good deal. "I can...", introduce was the word he wanted, but he couldn't think of it, "Hmm.... Do you want to meet him?" There we go, that worked just as well.

Anvion "Meet him? Sure!" A grin crossed Flitch's face, the blue-haired Sin' standing and picking up his bag of books. Sure, he wasn't going far, but he didn't want to leave his books behind. They might get stolen, and that would be really, really bad.
"All right, you wanna lead the way?"
"Yes." Gillian chuckled, moving towards Gabriel's estate. He wasn't a bad walker for an infant. Being so low to the ground and having a tail definately helped his balance a great deal. However there were times when his foot would catch on a bit of snow or he'd simply fall to his bum. Nothing he couldn't tolerate with a pat to his trousers and a grin over to Flitch, slightly embarassed, but good over all.
"Gabe says he's from where he used to live." He explained as they went along. The boy spared a glance in the direction of the manner. Gabriel's back could be seen, rocking slowly back and forth in a chair. Probibly giving Hugo his bottle.
Anvion Flitch trailed alongside Gillian, blue eyes keeping a close watch on the smaller Sin', sometimes reaching out to grab out at Gillian as he fell, but only a few grabs were successful. He returned the embarassed grin with one of his own, each time muttering an apology for whenever he wasn't able to help keep the small Sin' steady.
Listening to Gil's explanation, Flitch tilted his head to the side slightly. "Where's Gabe from? From far away, I suppose. Seems like all guardians are from far away..."
Gillian shrugged a bit, "He said not in this realm." That was about all he could ever really understand from Gabriel when he began explaining where he was from. Another realm- a completely different plane of existance all together with its own series of suns, planet systems, and the like. Of course all that was a bit too much for Gillian to digest at his age, he simply remembered the word 'realm' because it was used to often, even as he said it he sounded a bit confused.
Gillian went around the side of his house, pausing to brace himself against the wall. A large barn stood out a good deal behind the house with a rather generous ammount of running space. A large dappled gray war horse- with the normal amount of legs for a horse and the same vacent look as a local horse -pushed aside the snow with his pink nose, pulling at what grass he could find. Nearby a black colt with a pearly white mane, blotched here and there with white seemed to be completely fascinated by something in the water troff. Indeed he had four extra legs. From his shoulders to his knees they were perfectally normal, where the knees jointed sprouted an extra set of legs. One pair of the front legs was propped up on the edge of the troff, the others stood firmly on the ground. Unlike the dappled gray, he had a much more intelegent look about him, a confused look at the moment- but obviously a bit brighter.
"That's him." Gillian pointed out the colt, "We can't think of a good name yet."
Anvion "Oooh..." His eyes widening, Flitch studied the strange horse through his glasses, mouth hanging slightly open in a sort of fascinated awe. Eight legs... how weird...
"Um... haven't thought of a name?" snapping out of his fascination, Flitch cast a curious glance at Gillian. "You said that he can talk earlier, right? Why not ask him?"
"You know...", the colt looked up from where he had been before, his eyes narrowing a bit, "I can hear quite well thank you. It's very rude to talk about someone within earshot of who you're talking to."
Gillian chuckled a bit, slowly waddling his way towards the fence. "I asked. He said he didn't have a name." True enough. His mother had been killed before she had thought up an appropreate name and hell if his dad was around anymore. Gabriel had happened upon him in the capital of his old homeland being cared for by various other equine beasts. The offer to have a partner was more than enough to convince the colt to come along with him.
Anvion "Oh..." Flitch flushed slightly, embarassed a little. "Um, sorry. I... um... I'm not used to horses talking. Sorry..."
Following Gillian over to the fence, Flitch set his bag on a relatively dry spot of ground then scrambled up to sit on the edge of the fence. Then, glancing down at Gil, Flitch grinnned and offered the other Sin' a hand. "Wanna come sit up here, Gil? That way, we all can talk easy enough."
"I beg your pardon?! Horse?!" The colt snorted, clearly insulted. All eight legs came to the ground and he moved over towards them, it was odd how very little his frame loped like a common horse would. "That-" he jerked a head towards the grazing dappled, "Is a horse... Not just a horse- but a stupid one. Can't speak, can't do much... it's a stupid horse. I am a Sleipnir." He lifted his head, eyeing the boy as if he should know what that was.
Gillian chuckled, nodding to Flitch. He wasn't too well with climbing quite yet. He'd managed to get to the second cross-beam on the fence before but fell and bruised his legs terribly. "He gets grumpy if you say he's a horse."
"Rightfully so, little one." He flicked his white tail behind him.
Anvion "Um... sorry?" Flitch cast a frown at the Sleipnir as he hefted Gillian up onto his lap. "I've just never seen a Sleipnir before. Not even in my books. You just look... kinda like a horse. And, since I didn't know exactly what you were, I just called you a horse because you resemble one. Generally. I didn't mean to offend you."
The colt grunted and shook out his name, "Well I suppose that explains it. No harm done." He assured the sin boy with a smile, "You smell different...." The colt leaned his long neck out to sniff at Flitch a bit more, his eyes squinting a bit, "Why you have those same eye-glass things that the big one had."
Gillan made a slight "umph" sound as he was lifted up into Flitch's lap, giving him a bow of his head in thanks. His tiny hands went up to hold onto his horns so he could mind them a bit better, it wouldn't be at all good to scratch Flitch.... not at all. "This is Flitch- he's smart." He said with a bit of pride, "I bet he knows a good name.
"Oh?" The colt turned his head to the side with interest.
Anvion "Umm... I have glasses because I can't see things from far away too well." Flitch tapped at them with a smile. "These help me see better."
He flushed at Gillian's compliment. Again with the compliments. "Um... Maybe I can help with a name. What kinds of name do you want? A heroic name? A scholarly one? A cute one? There's lots of types to choose from..."
"Hmm....", the colt lifted a hoof to rub at the understide of his chin, looking up, "A heroic name." He grinned a bit, returning the hoof to the ground, "Then perhaps I can be accepted into the equine army when I'm older."
Gillian winced a bit, "I... don't want to be in an army..." Lords that would be akward. He could perhaps be shot towards someone, but he just couldn't picture himself weilding anything longer than his arm- which at this point in his life wouldn't even be a decent short sword.
The colt chuckled a bit, "Yeah but still. Smart and cuter are for the mares."
Anvion "Psh. There's nothing wrong with a smart name. But anyways..." Flitch screwed up his face, thinking of the names of heroes from the stories he's read. "Let's see... There's Adinar, Mavon, Eddard, Varys, Lir Tara, Edris, Arthur, Llewellyn... I can give out more if you want."
"I like Varys." Gillian put in, smiling between them both, "It sounds strong and smart- a good in-between?"
The colt turned his head to either side, looking one way then the other. Kind of odd behavior but perfectally normal for the equines of his land when considering, rolling the name over in his mind. With a slight tap of his hoof he looked back with a nod, "Very well. I like it."
Gillian chuckled, looking up to Flitch, "Told you that you were smart. I tried for two days for a name."
Anvion Flitch grinned happily, nodding. "I like Varys too. He was a really cool spy and figher from this one book I read. He was also a good fighter." With a small laugh, he patted Gillian on the head. "We're all smart in our own ways, Gil. I just remember names and books well..."
Gillian chuckled, moving his hands over his horns as if to remind Flitch of their being there and their apparent sharpness. In his first months when he'd cry and go into a tatrum (often over food but at that age who could blame him?) he'd thrash about and Gabriel still bore scars from those horns of his. Gillian was well aware of what they were capable of and minded them like nothing else. "Still... you are smartest I have met."
The colt whinnied a bit, trotting himself in a small circle, "Oh splended! Hey, how about a ride to thank you? I'm sure you've never gone as fast as I can go! Hooo-rinnirunnnrhhmm. I can jump that fence easily."
"Yeah!" Gillian clapped his hands a bit, "You can do it. It's fun. If you fall just get up again."
Anvion Ride? Flitch had never ridden before. "Umm... Well, I've never been riding before. Not on a horse OR a Sleipnir. How do I do it?"
As book-learned as Flitch was, practical experience was by far a different matter for the blue-haired Sin'. "Um... you wanna ride too, Gil? Can you carry him, Varys?"
"One at a time...", the colt snorted, bending his upper half downards. "Little one can watch from the side- besides with those pokers you're likely to get skewered like a fresh bushel of hay if you jerk forward hard enough."
Gillian nodded, "I don't want to scratch you." He was perfectally fine with watching, he'd ridden a few times already, he wasn't old enough to have Verys flat out run but he had managed a trot easily enough.
"Now come on, climb onto my back- sit behind my shoulders and hold with your knees. Hold my neck- but not around it or you'll choke me. If you must hold my mane but I won't thank you to pull it."
Anvion "Um, okay..."
One arm keeping a firm grip around Gillian, Flitch slid down from the fence, gently setting the horned Sin' on the ground. Then, after making sure Gillian was clear from Varys' hooves, he scrambled back up onto the fence and onto Varys' back. Leaning forward, Flitch put his hands around Varys' neck as properly as he could. "Is this good...?"

Posted: Fri Aug 04, 2006 11:32 am - In-Thread RP between Thalion and Rune Traverse - |~|
A trip to the park was just what the family needed to releave a nearly severe case of cabin fever. Gillian never really seemed all that bothered to stay inside and keep to his crafts. He'd gotten quite a decent amount of art books and colors for his birthday to include watercolors, a few sketchbooks, colored pencils, markers, crayons, and some sidewalk chalk. He was almost always buried in the paper, drawing whatever he felt like. Most of which were little doodles of the others he knew, he had one of Yukito holding a potion, one not-so-flattering picture of Lyris yelling, of Yuvette playing in the snow, Mig with sparkles and flowers around her, and a large walls worth of his siblings and Gabe.
He walked along behind Gabriel who had invested in a multiple child stroller, more of an athletic formed one but it was able to hold four if needed, Snowe and Gillian were just fine walking. Hugo and Van still had to be confined to the stroller during walks and the sandbox during trips to the park. Neither seemed to mind though Van had developed the bad habbit of rolling himself around in the sand. Gillian explained that birds did the same.
"Maybe his wings are itchy." Gillian watched from the play castle, looking up from his sketchbook over to Van as he flapped his wings around, dusting himself in the sand.
"I don't know... but I don't like it when I get sand in my cloths...." Snowe scratched his head, "I remember getting sand in my pants when me and Ryose were wrestling.
"Maybe Van likes to be itchy?" Gil shrugged, smirking slightly.
Hugo watched as his brother played around in the sand a few feet from him, busy simply digging a hole with a play shovel he'd gotten from Gabe.
Quote: "Mama mama! GILL!" Horo Horo's voice split the air, sounding massively excited. A moment later, the little boy came toddling into view, face literally glowing with an ear to ear grin. Yes, toddling. Apparently, the little shaman had made his jump to the next stage, and was now walking, albeit with a rather dubious sense of balance. "GILLY, lookit! I big now!" "Big head." Yvette grumped from her seat in the stroller, glaring. She HATED being small now more than ever, especially since her siblings had been shooting up at an alarming rate. There was now a new infant in the stroller, a small, slightly chubby redhead with intense green eyes, and a veritable dozen youngsters around five to eight in human years, most running about happily through the park play equipment. Rune sighed tolerently and rolled her eyes, used to the complaining by now. "Hi, Gabe. Having fun?"
Gabriel looked up with a smile, motioning to the seat next to him on the park bench. Lords it was nice to just sit back and do nothing. No changing diapers, no chaising after Ryose, no pulling Hugo off Snowe's hair, no cleaning up spilled water colors... just...sitting. "Ooh always." He chuckled, glancing over to the stroller, "Looks like the family's growing larger. In more ways than one."
"Hi Horo!" Gil waved, shutting up his sketchbook quickly and shoving it behind himself. He was a bit wary of other people seeing his drawings before they were finished, even Gabe had gotten his hand slapped a few times for trying, "You're big now! You look good." He nodded approvingly.
"Yeah...." Snowe slowly sank down behind one of the supports of the play castle, glancing shyly over to the other children. He was still horribly shy, prefirring the company of Ryose, who only seemed to tolerate Snow, or Gillian who knew that hair simply wasn't for tugging on.
"Yvette!" Gil waved over, "I made a picture of you- wanna see?"
Rune Traverse "A picture - of me?" Yvette brightened immediately, eyes wide and pleased as she happily unbuckled herself. Caz came over, long dark hair swinging, and lifted his small sister from the stroller, following her over to the younger boy before settling off to the side. His brothers and sisters were running around, but frankly, he was rather bored. Jacques wasn't particularly fond of people, either - he was too shy - and Caz knew his brother would need a place to come and get away from the family after a while. Rune grinned, hefting Daimon and Angel into the sandbox with their toys before cradling the redheaded infant in her arm and trotting over to sit near Gabe. "Yes, it's a bit bigger." She admitted, looking amused. "Anitia loves it, she keeps saying 'more, more!' everytime I come home. Yvette's a bit annoyed that they're all bigger than she is."
"Mmm hmm." Gil reached behind him for his sketchbook, shyly flipping through the pages, doing his best to keep it well concieled until he had found her picture. It wasn't the best- but he had made it so the picture did resemble Yvette well enough to know it was her. The coloring was a bit out of the lines and in a place or two he had tried one color and decided for another one. Not the best, but he was proud of it, "See! I did a picture of you. This is a toy bear... I don't got one so I guessed on how one looks."
"Looks like a toy bear..." Snowe put in shyly from his 'hiding spot' behind the poll, peeking down at his brother's sketchbook.
"Ooh dear, I don't think I have your energy, my five boys is a handful enough. I can't for the life of me get Ryose to come and be social. It was a miracle that Snowe came along but he and Gil are the older boys and I need their help- Snowe never can say no if I need help. Van's learning how to flap his wings." He gave a heavy sigh, "Ooh when that boy learns to fly I swear I'm going to earn myself more grey hairs than I already have... and Hugo still likes to hide himself in the strangest of places. I've had to put locks on any cubbort or drawer below my waist."

"Now you two mind yourself." Gabriel stepped away from the two. He had agreed to allow both Snowe and Gillian to stay the day at the Mansion while he did a bit of late-spring cleaning. Ryose, again, was out and about on his own terms. He might just have to tie that lad down one of these days. Hugo and Van were fast asleep, it made things easy, "I'll be back to pick you up in a few hours, so don't go too far."
Gillian nodded, adjusting the bookbag on his shoulder, "We'll be good. Maybe we'll even see Chaco today."
"Ooh..." Snowe looked a bit uncertain, holding a stuffed seal close to himself, "I don't know... can't we just play together?"
"Chaco's real nice." Gillian waved as Gabriel climbed up onto his horse and began back down the road, "And he's got wings. Not feathery like Van's are- but kind of... like a bat."
"I don't like bats..." Snowe hid his face behind the seal, earning a roll of his older brother's eyes.
Jeanemon Singing softly and braiding her hair into small braids, Mignon walked around the grounds, not paying to much attetion to what was going on. She looked lost in thought. Her head raised, though, at the sound of hooves. A rather unattractive frown formed on her face as she shaded her eyes, looking at the horse and unable to see the rider.
Gillian turned to face the mansion, craning his neck to get a better look at it. Dispite his growth, he was still horribly small for his age, there were likely large toddlers that were taller than he was but it mattered little to him. His stature had never been a problem for him in the past and like Flitch had said- size really didn't matter. "It's so big... I haven't been here for a while."
Snowe turned slowly, sinking behind Gil, which again was humerous because of the difference in stature, "Gil... someone's over there..."
"Hmm?" The boy turne his head slowly, reaching a hand over to shade his own eyes. "Mignon!" He grinned, breaking out into a clumsy but stable enough run, ""Hey! Look!"
"H-Hey wait! Don't leave me behind, Gil!"
Jeanemon Her lips pressed together as the two children made their way over to her. The second, she didn't know. But the first... With those horns and that dark hair- "Why, Gil!" She strode to meet him, picking him up and giving him a toss in the air. "Look at how handsome and big you've gotten!" Not that there was too much difference in his size before and after. He was cute as a button, though. Cocking her head to one side, she gave Gil a serious stare. It quickly faded, replaced by a smile. "Yup. I thought so. If you keep getting any cuter, Lyrus will have someone to watch out for when you get his age. You'll steal all the girls from him!"
Gillian giggled, dropping his bag as he was scooped up and tossed in the air, much to Snowe's horror. He didn't know this girl- she was so big.. and now she had Gil. But the little Sin' didn't seem all that worried, maybe it was alright. Snowe quickly snatched up the bag and replaced a few of the pencils that had fallen out before scooting himself a safe distance away.
Gillian was brimming, his face flushing red with the complements, "Aww... no I don't want all the girls. Maybe for friends." He cleared his throat. Maybe it was just puppy love? He always did think that Mig was pretty and the one time he had seen Lyrus- he hadn't liked him. Too mouthy. "I uh... I drew a picture of you too... did one of all my friends you wanna see? I did you grown up all big too." He looked sheepishly to his feet- my he was a way up.
Jeanemon "Well, just warning you. You'll have lots of admierers when you get older, Gilly." She carefully sat Gil back onto the ground and crouched down closer to his level. "Why, that's sweet! Sure, I'd love to see your drawings!" Gil was just too cute. When he got older, he would definatly be boyfriend material. There was a very little voice inside her that was mentall smacking herself and calling her a cradle robber, but one look at Gilly's cute face made the voice shut up. Awww.

Ability Quest II: Posted: Tue Sep 05, 2006 6:19 pm Gillian: Affinity/Aversion QuestNow as a toddler, Gillian must do the following: Get one jar of paint for every color of the rainbow, and paint one or more pictures of flowers. They can be any flowers, but he must use every color at least once.
Gillian stirred at the gentle hand of his guardian, parting his eyes in the early morning sunlight. Gabriel stood over his ‘son’, holding another sheet of paper delicately in one hand. The young Sin shifted himself upwards, pulling the sheets aside to allow himself to sit up and swing his stubby legs around over the side of the bed, “Mmm….Gabe?” He groaned, rubbing at his eyes.
“Good morning, I’m sorry to wake you up so early but I knew you’d want to see this.” He held out the letter for the young boy to take as he took a seat beside him on the bed. He was teaching him how to read. Little by little. Knowledge was one thing that he small sin would have to put him at the level of the others, maybe above with practice. “Go on, what does it say?”
Gil looked uncertainly up to Gabe who only responded with an encouraging nod down towards the paper. Pulling at his lip, Gillian looked back down to the note, scratching at his wild hair as he blinked to rid the blur from his vision. “N…now as…. As a tod… d….-”
“Toddler.” Gabriel said calmly, it was a larger word, bless the child’s heart he still couldn’t read bigger words like that.
“Toddler.” Gil repeated, running a finger over the word on the note, “Gillian m…must do the F…fo…-”
“Following.”
“Following.” Gil took a deep breath, blinking a bit more now that he could actually make out the rest of the words, “Now as a to…toddler, Gillian must to the following.” He smiled, looking up to Gabe for his nod of approval before continuing, “Get one jar… of pa…pain…. Paint. Oh paint.” He glanced over to his art set, he already had quite the collection, “Okay, one jar of paint for every…colo….co….color?” Another nod from Gabriel. “Of the…”
“Rainbow.”
“Rainbow…” Gabriel handed the note over to Gabe who reached over to toss the boy’s hair around, “Paint one or more pictures of flowers. They can be any flowers but he must use every color at least once.”
“Flowers.” Gill nodded and slid himself off the bed, groggily making his way over to the dresser to get himself dressed up. The usal outfit- a blue tunic over a pair of brown pants with a belt pulled around his waist to keep both tied onto him and finally a pair of leather boots. Kind of strange for this area but Gabriel had brought from his world his taste in clothing and Gillian found them to be far more comfortable than the stuff the others wore.
“Can I paint outside by the garden?” Gillian looked over as he brushed through his hair. Gabriel was allowing him to grow it out long, in fact he was encouraging it. For his culture, the length of one’s hair was a bit of a status symbol, and to keep it too short meant that whomever wore it in such a way was at the rank of a servant.
“Of course.” Gabriel chuckled, standing himself up to help the young boy pick up his pallet and paints. Gil had his arms full of paintbrushes and the small jars of paints that he had bought the day he’d been on his last quest, the bells still jingling from his horns as he walked his way though the living room to the front door. Snowe and the rest were still fast asleep. Maybe Ryose was up and about, he was more wild than any of the other children, it was always hard to keep tabs of him.
“Okay.” Gabriel set the easel down in front of the main garden, situating a little spot for Gillian to work, “You have your paints, I’ll go get you a cup for water. You got paper on there- anything else?”
Gillian shook his head, working the lids off his paints, “No, I think I can do it.”
“Very well.” Gabriel stepped inside long enough to fetch the promised cup of water for rinsing brushes and a book for himself to read. Gillian was still far too young to be left unattended though he did have kind of a thing for people watching him- hence the book.
Gillian sketched out seven flowers on the canvas with a pencil first, glancing between the garden and the canvas. Still pretty underdeveloped, but for his age he was coming along quite nicely in his artwork. Truth was, many children enjoyed coloring and drawing at a young age and grew out of it. Gillian seemed to have… kind of a passion for it to say. He was never a loud or rowdy child, he preferred drawing to playing tag or chaise. Other such silly games.
It was well into the afternoon before the painting was done. During the time he was working Gil would move his easel around to find a flower of the color he was looking for, the painting was a bit scattered but it turned out quite well for his age. “Done.”
Gabriel looked up from his book to the painting, still damp but a few hours in the sun would fix that. Gillian stood back proudly, wiping his hands off on the rag he had been provided with. “Is it good?”
“It’s wonderful.” Gabriel shut his book carefully over the mark, standing himself up from the lawn, “I’ll have to hang it up when it’s dry.”
The little sin practically beamed with the complement, dipping his paintbrushes back into the water cup to soak the paint from them. “In my room?”
“Yes if you’d like.” Gabe chuckled.

Quote: You're up, Gillian! Head off to the nearest art supply store and pick out either multiple-colored paints, markers or crayons. With these, Gillian is to draw the picture of something he saw only once. It can be a person, landscape or anything else.
The letter had come with very little excitement for its recipient. Gabriel's house, which had once been so full of life, was now a quiet, lonely place. Snowe and Ryose had left to new homes. Their adoption center had provided no explanation for it. Van and Hugo were around, but spent a lot of time in a daycare because of their age. Gabriel had relied on Snowe to help keep the house in order. Gillian was still a toddler afterall...and three toddlers running around was just too much for the older man.
The milk boy sat out in the front yard, bundled up as much as Gabe could convince him to. He was on an old stone bench facing the hills in the distance, all covered in snow. All of them untouched along the path save for the wheel treads and hoofmarks that Gabriel had made on his trips into town. The boy sighed, sending a long puff of cloud up from under the scarf. He could hear Gabe approaching.
"Gillian?"
The boy glanced over a shoulder, eyes instantly falling on the note.
"It's another request from Chaco...."
Gillian looked ahead once more and scooted himself from the bench. It was quite a drop for him, even for a toddler he was a runt.
"He wants you to paint something you've only ever seen once." Gabriel glanced over the short note once more, "We have some supplies inside if you want to do that. I can help if you'd like."
Gillian shook his head and began pulling his hair back out of his face, securing it with a small ribbon. "No. I can do it."
Gabriel nodded a bit. The boy hadn't been the same since Snowe and Ryose had left. The house was empty once more. Van and Hugo both seemed kind of dazed from it all as well. It was hard losing family members. They'd not died... Ryose, well...had run away from home. Snowe never left his twin's side. The loss was hard to take. Gabriel had put on a strong face for the family but it didn't change the situation in the least. Aside from that, there'd been no contact with Gillian's twin either. With his frail health, Gillian was rarely able to leave the house. His sunken mood had put enough stress on the toddler to leave him constantly fatigued.
The two made their way back to the manner, slower than Gabe would have liked but Gillian was pretty intent on walking himself wherever he needed to be. Dressed up for the winter, and short as he was, he didn't move very quickly. Once inside he stomped the snow from his boots and began piling up his winter layer up, leaving him in his pants and a shirt. He kept the scarf wrapped around his neck though, having been a gift from Snowe he rarely took it off.
Gillian glanced around the house a bit. It seemed as though both Van and Hugo were taking their naps. It was quiet, it was clean and orderly. Even the play blocks had been situated up against one of the walls.

AIM RP Aim RP between Anvion and Thalion. GillianFlitchRillian - Ref.
Gabriel didn't let him wonder too far in recent days. The fragile milk Sin'aesis was battling yet another cold that had lingered on from the early days of winter. Chaco had told Gabriel that the boy would be half of a sin' in quite a few aspects. Half as healthy, half as tall, half this and that- but he seemed intelligent enough to make up for it.
After the family had been broken and had dwindled down to himself, Hugo, Vaan, Gabe, the boy had become quite reclusive. Rillian, a jivvin, had been brought into the family to keep watch on the children in Gabriel's absence.
The jivvin was keeping careful watch on the boy as Gillian sat out front, sketching his selpinir colt as the yearling grazed.
It had been forever since Flitch had last taken this path home. When he was younger he'd taken a liking to the detour for the chance to run into his friend Gillian, but time and family and a number of other things had kept him from visiting in... forever, really.
Today, however, was different. No brothers to watch, no little chores to run, and no place to go. Why not swing by Gillian's house? He hadn't seen his friend in forever.
So he hummed tunelessly to himself as he walked along, pausing at the yard with the oh-so-famailiar horned figure sitting in the lawn. "Gil!" Flitch called, his face splitting into a wide grin.
Gillian jumped a bit and looked up over the top of the sketchbook- which nearly dwarfed the boy. He couldn't help but smile a bit as he reconized the older figure. Much older!
"Flitch." He set the sketchbook aside and got himself to his feet, "You've grown!"
"Friend of yours?" The Jivvin lifted his head up from his claws and smiled a bit towards Flitch.
"Yes, it's okay."
"Yeah, a bit," the teen admitted. True, he hadn't grown MUCH, but still. He couldn't help but smile at his friend. "So how've you been? I haven't seen you in ages... And who's your friend?"
At this, Fltich peered curiously through his glasses at the jivvin. He'd never seen one before. It was quite cute, though!
"I've been better." The Sin admitted through a mutter. "Kinda sick... don't wanna get too close." He wiped at his nose a bit. "And Snowe's gone. There's just five of us now."
It was still a large household, but not nearly as large as it had been. Everyone seemed pretty sore over it, even if it was hardly new news.
"Oh. That's Rillian. He came to live with us." He pointed back towards the Jivvin. "He's real nice..."
"A pleasure." The Jivvin got himself to his paws and walked himself over.
Snowe? The anme was unfamiliar, but that was no surprise. Flitch hadn't seen any of the rest of Gillian's family, to be honest. It didn't matter. He could still sympathize over lost family.
"I'm sorry to hear that." He was. Losing family was hard.
He inclined his head to the jivvin. "And right back at you. So Gillian, what're you drawing?" he asked, approaching despite the caution of a cold.
Gillian shrugged. "Him and Ryose just...vanished one day. I think it was Ryose. Snowe did whatever he wanted him to do...and Ryose didn't like us much anymore."
"Ooh... heh." He flipped his sketchbook around so Flitch could see the..somewhat horselike figure on the paper.
"Aah. I see." Things could be like that. pity.
Flopping down on the grass to get a better look at the other's art, Fltich nodded in approval. "That's really cool, Gil. What is it?"
"It's Verys." He pointed to the colt who was now smirking over towards Flitch from his side of the fence. Flitch, actually, had been the one to name the eight-legged horse.
"I want to get better at drawing, so I'm having Verys do some poses for me."
"He's getting better. It really is starting to look more like a horse."
"Oh!" Flitch could see now. He'd thought it was a regualr horse at first. "I see now."
He cast a look at Verys, but the eye contact was not one that lasted long. The last time he'd seen the horse, it'd been a fairly traumatic riding experience.
"It's really good, though. I can't wait to see it when it's finished."
The horse smirked and flicked an ear backwards, it gave him more of a cocky edge to his expression, "You've gotten bigger... you wanna try your luck again, there bub? Or are you still a limp noodle?"
"Be nice." Gil warned, glancing over towards the fence. The horse snorted and went back to grazing. That seemed to relax Gillian a bit. He coughed a bit and glanced back Flitch's way. "What about you? Anything exciting?"
Flitch ignored the horses' taunts. Oh no. He wouldn't give in so easy.
Instead he focused on Gil. "Oh, not too too much. I went to Anvion's home country for a while to work, then have just come back here and," he shrugged. "Meeting up with people again. It's been too long since I've seen most anybody that's not-family."
"I know how that goes." He glanced down the road away from the mannor. He'd not been into town for a while, much less at Chaco's mannor. Of course, he'd been sick and with Gabriel's nerves, going anywhere away from home was out of the question.
"You should visit more. It's still far from the others, but it's relaxing."
"I promise I will." Flitch shrugged. "It's just been so... busy lately. But maybe you can come visit sometime too," he added. "There's always something going on at my house."

“Thank you for coming…”, Gabriel stepped aside and allowed the Jivvin into the manor.
“Think nothing of it.” Rillian padded in and took a slow look around the place. He’d grown to a full-sized adult and really felt it was time he moved out of the house and moved on with his own life. Flen, his sprite, perched on his shoulder, giving the place a more critical inspection than her partner. Wherever he went, it seemed she was right there alongside him.
“I just…need someone that can keep an eye on my child. Be there for him, keep a good eye on him when I have to work or spend time with the other two.”
“It is understandable.” The jivvin nodded, “He’s lost two siblings you say? Quite…difficult for a child to manage.”
“Indeed… and he’s….quite a bit smaller than even infants. He needs someone that can perhaps guide him in becoming stronger, more confident. I don’t want to see him breaking down.”
“Ah.” Rillian nodded, following the older elf into a play area. Two infants slept side by side in a playpin, a winged one sucked on his thumb while the other had balled himself up into his blanket. On the opposite side of the room a small horned child was stacking blocks up neatly, creating a play castle for the little knight figures standing in rows.
The boy looked up, setting another block down on the wall he had been working on.
((More to come...))
