Dear Diary//

Who seriously just leaves a baby on your doorstep? A bit cliché, and dangerous, if you ask me. No, of course you didn't. I'll tell you anyways.

I was just about to leave the house. I stepped outside, and nearly stepped on her. I thought maybe it was a fruit basket or something. I set the basket on the table and pulled away the fabric to see what types of fruit there were. What I found was a dark-skinned foot. I took the cloth off fully, and found a little baby. She was awake, but completely silent. On her wrist was tied a note, crumpled and slobbery, but mostly readable. Apparently, the baby, Vivian, is an orphan? Or homeless, I dunno.

But she's a jalepeno? That part didn't make much sense. Maybe it just said that she didn't like them or was allergic to them or something, but it sure looked like it said she was one. What does that mean?

Anyways, I guess this place wants me to take care of her. Like I said, cliché. I guess I'm a bit cliché as well, though. Well, it's not like I can go dump her somewhere and get away with it. She's too cute anyways; I'd be a waste. So, I'm taking care of her.

Visiting the Mansion//

Jeanemon
Blowing a bubble, Mignon lounged inside of the mansion, braiding her hair. The mansion was lovley and cool. It was more than a little nice.

After putting a bow around the last braid she stood, straightening out her skirt. "Now... what?" She murmured, looking up at the ceiling.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
Raechyl slowly walked into the mansion. She had never been there before, and was rather amazed. She carried a small, dark bundle in her arms, through which, a small, dark baby occasionally peeked.

Tenshi_Kuronaho
((Rae, just to let you know. Vivi and An have already met a few times. XD They where crazy about eachother when they where both babies. ))

Ancelin had been sweeping the halls with a broom, destroying every single dust bunny and spider web she found. They could build their homes elsewhere, like outside, where they wouldn't keep things filthy. Filthy, filthy, filthy.
"Die." She said as she took a rag from her hip and polished away a smudge stain on a table in the hall. Hmpf, Chaco needed a maid.

Ancelin's head perked up as she heard the sound of two voices in the mansion, she wasn't alone. But she doubted anybody she would find would help her clean.. Probably just more children. But maybe it'd be someone she knew?
"Hello?"

Jeanemon
[[Mig's met Viv a few times, but she didn't pay too much attetion to her.]]

"Hmph." Voices. Female voices. Boring.

Mignon poked her head out from the receiving room and looked out. There was some new person, carrying a baby. Not too interesting. Now, on the flip side, there was a girl who was a Sin. She was a blue haired girl. She smiled slightly, but it wasn't exactly a nice smile.

"Why, hello, Anny!" She called, stepping into the hallways. Turning her head towards the new woman she kept the false smile on her face. "And hello to you too! I don't think we've met before."

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
[All I knew was that Viv liked her wings ^^ Thanks]

"Umm.....Hi?" Raechyl said to......someone. Okay, I am seriously hearing things. she thought to herself. She was hearing voices, and they didn't sound nice. Die? Yikes. She kept walking, and Vivian peeked out of her cloth bundle. Just then a tall, beautiful girl came up, and Raechyl could also see a blue haired girl, with amazing wings. They must also be Sin'aeis.

Tenshi_Kuronaho
Ancelin first spotted Mignon, and returned her false smile back to her.
"Hello... Mignon, was it? Your looking good today. Although I have some sanitation pads if you want to get all that stuff off your face." She said as she put the cleaning rag back in her pocket, reffering to any makeup Mignon might be wearing.

She then turned her head in the other direction, spotting a new commer with a baby.
"Oh hello.. Are you a new paernt?" She asked, before she spotted the baby, eyes growing a bit.
"Vivian? There's no way. The last time I saw her, I was an infant myself.." She said to herself, not anybody else. She then looked back to the woman.
"Is her name Vivian?"

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"Yeah." she said, still a bit weirded out by the concept of her being a parent. Whatever. "Umm....yeah, thats her name. You met 'er?" She guessed that whoever her previous 'parent' had been had brought her here before, so it wouldn't be impossible for her to alrealdy know some people.

Vivian stuck her whole head out of her cloth coccoon, and smiled at Ancelin.

Jeanemon
The slightest seed of doubt was planted, and Mignon retreived her compact from one pocket, inspecting her face. She moved her mouth one way then the other, finally snapping it shut. "No, thank you. I do think it's held up well in the heat."

Swaying over behind to the woman, Mignon pulled her braids back with a ribbon, keeping them far out of baby range. "Hello, there. I'm Mignon. Who're you, and who is that adorable little baby?" She gave a big smile. While she would be careful around Anny, who was growing up quite pretty, she could stand to be nice to the baby. It'd be long before she grew to be a rival.

Tenshi_Kuronaho
Ancelin nodded to Mignon, as she put a packet back into her back dress pocket. Yes, her dress had pockets. How else would she carry all her cleaning supplies? She then watched Mignon move over, and looked down at the baby, smiling down at her. Yeah, no doubt in her mind, it was Vivian. What other baby would have dark brown skin and fire marks on her face?

"Yeah.. I met her when I was just a baby. Her and a man would come to our house and I would play with her.. But, wouldn't she have grown like I and Mignon?" She asked, that was very odd. She'd have to speak to Chaco about it. After all, Mignon was older than her, but she remembered Mignon growing from a toddler, into the young woman that she was today as she grew into a child. Why had this little baby, stayed just a baby?
Must have to do with her element. she thought, trying to shrug it off.

"I'm Ancelin.. What's your name, miss?" She asked, resisting the urge to fix any stray hair she might see on ether person's head. Don't be nit picky, don't be nit picky...

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"This is Vivian." Raechyl said warily to Mignon. She was sweet. Way, way too sweet. How annoying. "Well, really, I don't know why she didn't grow. I don't think she has had very much interaction with anyone lately, and she seems pretty shy. Maybe she pulled herself away from people and seems younger." she still wasn't sure what the child in her arms had gone through. She hadn't been told much. "And, uh, my name's Raechyl." she said to both Ancelin and Mignon.

Jeanemon
"Ah. Raechyl." She reached forward with one manicured nail and tapped Vivian on the nose. "Well, well! I remember you somewhat, little tattoo face. But I bet you don't remember me."

"Sin's grow at different rates, Anny." Mignon shrugged. "Me and Kilah usually grow around the same time, but Lyrus didn't grow for a long time, and then he caught up with us. Vivian's probably just a slower grower, or something."

Tenshi_Kuronaho
Ancelin thought for a moment... Lyrus... Lyrus.. Oh yeah, that hot guy with the blue hair kinda like hers.
"Oh, I see." She said with a nod to Mignon, before she ran a hand over Vivian's hair, soothing it.
"She's probably gonna sprout up then real fast for us." She said with a grin, before she looked up to the woman holding her.
"It's nice to meet you Raechyl. I'd give you my gaurdian's number incase you ever have any trouble.. But she's not the most social person." She said with a bit of a nervious wince.

Tenshi_Kuronaho
"It's good to see you agian Vivian. Do you remember me? We used to play together and you liked my wings." Ancelin cooed, failing horribly at using baby talk. She then shuffled the tricolored feather dusters on her back, spreading them a bit. That way Vivian could maybe jar her memory with the sight of her wings.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
Mignon was right, Vivian didn't remember her. She was slightly familiar, but it had been a long time since she had seen anyone, and her memory had become a bit fuzzy.

"That could be it too." Raechyl said admittantly. She really had no idea, this was all one very big first for her. "You never know, I guess."

Jeanemon
"Well! You just keep little one around this place and meet some people and I'm sure she'll grow up to be quite a.... Cute little thing." She smiled at Raechyl before giving her a child a squinty eyed look. "But you better watch out. If you grow up and steal my Gilly or Lyrus away from me, I might have to gut you."

She kept the squinted eyes for a moment before laughing. "Kidding, of course."

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
She wrinkled her nose at the touch of Mignons fingernail. What a weird, hard thing. It could probably hurt. She looked back to Lin when she felt her gentle hand run through her hair. She smiled. When Ancelin extended her wings out to a visible position, Vivians' small smile stretched out to a huge grin, exposing both toothless gums and tounge.

"Oh, it's okay. I'm sure there'll be people around here willing to help. Thanks for the thought, though." she said, watching Vivian. "Well, maybe she does remember you." she said warmly at the sight of Vivian smiling. That poor kid had seemed so.....dull, at times. Like nothing mattered almost. Depressed? She made a weird face at Mignons' comment, and she must have noticed.

Tenshi_Kuronaho
Ancelin's eyes drifted to Mignon after her threat, smirking. Her Lyrus and Gillian huh? Granted, she had no clue who Gillian was.
"I don't know. With that fair skin, and her bone structor, Vivian might be prettier than all of us when she grows up." She said with a smirk, before she reached back into her wings and pulled out a molting feather.

"Here you go Vivian." She said as she held it out for the little girls hands, for her to play with. Little kids at the super market got a kick out if it when she gave them feathers, maybe this little one would too.

Jeanemon
"Prettier than you, no doubt. Expecially with that lovley normal hair and those markings." She wouldn't comment on the other part. Even though it was highly unlikley, it never paid to voice such things.

"Well, I'm not exactly the kind of person you forget. I was just the cutest, sweetest thing when I was little. So photogenic." Mignon sighed in rememberance. "Flitting here, there, everywhere. I met lots of people."

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
Vivian, upon seeing the feather, paid absolutely no attention to either girl. She began waving the beautiful, soft thing around, gently at first and then faster and faster, and if she herself was trying to fly.

Raechyl felt like she had walked in on the judging of a beauty contest. Were they all like this? She quailed at the thought, and hoped Vivian would not be so.....materialistic. Well, who was she to talk, when she was probably worse than Mignon at points. Still, she had no words for the strange girls before her.

Tenshi_Kuronaho
Ancelin didn't say anything to Mignon's comment, she didn't care if she was 'pretty' or 'not pretty'. So long as she was clean. She was simply stating a fact.
"She'll be fun to have around agian, ether way. This place gets so boring anymore." She said, before she nearly had a giggle fit over Mignon's last comment.

"The first time I met you you where so busy ignoring me to talk to Chaco, I thought I was invisiable. And then the second time you kept talking to Tenshi." She said, she didn't add the 'maybe that's why Jani doesn't remember you'.

She then reached over to the side with her broom, quickly sweeping away a dust bunny that was blowing out of her dust pile. Like hell dirt was gonna get past her.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
Vivian continued playing with the feather, but after a moment it slipped from her small fingers and floated to the ground.

Raechyl bent down to get it, and continued listening to the conversation. It seemed the girl had forgetten she was there. If she kept quiet, they would keep talking, and she would learn more about each of them. A good plan, in her opinion.

Tenshi_Kuronaho
Raechyl's hopes would be short lived, as Ancelin quickly swept up the dust in a mini-vac, and restrapped it onto her belt.
"I'm just about done with this hallway.. I think there are snacks in the kitchen, and formula. If Vivian is hungry?" She said as she looked back to the woman and child. It wasn't that she was ignoring Mignon's comment, it's just that she had no retort to it. Chaco was a good looking young man, after all. She got the pleasure of washing his shirts sometimes.. Right off it. Rawr.

Jeanemon
"Snacks, snacks." Not that she would eat a bite. Fattening. But she was just bored enough to follow along and pester.

"Have you seen Lyrus since he grew, Anny?" She asked, going back to her usual topic. "He looks good. And little Gilly, when he gets bigger, he's going to be a lady killer. Cuter than Chaco was when he was little, I bet."

Not that she was prejuding, or anything. He was cute. And sweet. Anyone who called her beautiful generally got on her good side.

Tenshi_Kuronaho
Ancelin smiled kindly at the woman and nodded, before she rested the broom on the side of the wall, she'd return there later to finish cleaning.
"It's right this way." She said, as she started to walk towards the kitchen, playing tour guide. She then looked to Mignon, oh, a topic she could agree on!

"Yeah, I've seen Lyrus. He's HOT! But I haven't met this Gillion. Is he nice?" She asked, folding her arms behind her back. She liked Lyrus, he was good looking. But she didn't get to see him all that often. When she would, it would often just be a glance and then go on her way, as one of them would be busy at the time.
"Even though Jani's a girl. Ever sense she grew, she's looked like a real hot guy. I was stunned when I saw her." okay, more like terrified. Because it happened in her bedroom. But hey, who's to judge the difference?

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
Raechyl followed An, listening intently. She had never heard of Lyrus or Gillion, but if either were hot, then she was interested. Whoops! There I go again. Gotta act like a mom now..... she though, but kept listening anyways.

Quote:
"Don't worry, we don't bite. Hard." She gave Raechyl a toothy grin. "In any case, Lyrus is our Lamb boy, my age. Gilly's a milk boy, and he's little. But cute. And sweet. Chaco's our head honcho. He's cute. You'll meet most of these people if you keep an eye out. Lyrus can be more than a brat, but he's hot, so that kinda evens it out a bit."

"Jani is cute. In a very strange, boyish way. She would make a good man. Probably look good in a suit. With her hair spiked up in front." Mignon tapped a finger to her lower lip. "Gil.. He's little. And cute. And sweet as a sugardaddy. And smart. If he was a little older, I think I'd recruit him to be my boyfriend."

Unfortunatly, he wasn't old enough to really do such a thing. Mignon felt like a cradle robber anyways. Oh, well. He'd grow up, she'd stay pretty, and they'd get together like some big movie. And if that didn't work, she'd go sleep with Lyrus, or something.

Quote:
Ancelin laughed, before she looked back to Reachyl, as they entered the kitchen. She then pointed to the fridge.
"Foods in there. And Lyrus is a real babe, he's tall with grey skin, and this really sexy shiney blue hair. He's also got these black markings on his face." She said with a nod.

"Gillion sounds cute." She nodded. "You shoulda met my Gaurdian's biological son, Vincent, before he had to go back to his home for work. Now he's SUPER hot." She said with a wide grin. "And the best part of living with him every day was that he liked to take showers even though he didn't have any clean clothes." That's right, he didn't have clean clothes. Even though he lived with An... She'd make a habbit of saving his dirty loundry for last.

"Alot of the boys around here are pretty good looking.. But alot of them I haven't seen sense they where little." She said with a frown, she then wondered how Jack would turn out when he got big.. He'd probably be buff with such a rough nech he was.

Quote:
Gossip was fun. Hee.

"So! You get to listen to our interesting stuff, but what about you? When did you find Vivian? What does she like, besides feathers? Do you have any hot men at your house that run around naked? Because I, apparently, have a distressing lack of that."

Hmmm. The change of living space may just prove to eliminate that, however. Jeane would have been against it. Yet another reason why Eskouga was the better person to live with.

Quote:
"Well, it sounds pretty exciting. I also have a lack of naked men around my apartment." That may actually be a good thing, since I've got Vivian now. Wouldn't do to scar the poor child. "Vivian's my only kid. Not really got a lot going in my life right now." she said as she walked over to the fridge. Man, that felt weird to say. Her, take care of a kid? She was a kid! Well, she preffered to think otherwise, but seriously. How weird is that?

"Why is the carpet so itchy?" Coira asked, her voice laced with boredom and annoyance. She laid out on her stomach and began pulling at the little loops in the rough surface below her. The nylon strands un-wove themselves and rested on her tiny golden hands. Vivian was watching the telly as she sat up on the couch with Raechyl, who was reading a book.

"Stop it!" Raechyl said, not looking up from her book. "The carpet's itchy 'cause it's cheap, and if you ruin it you're paying to replace it. Watch the telly or something." She didn't care that Coira didn't have any money to buy carpet, just that she didn't have the money. She continued reading.

"How am I 'sposed to pay for it, if I don't have any money?" Coira grumbled under her breath, seeming to read her mothers' thoughts. She stopped pulling out the carpet anyway; she'd rather flit up to the couch and sit on the softer fabric there.

Vivian watched as Coira grabbed a piece of a cookie to nibble on, and then she reached her pudgy hands out towards it. Raechyl passed her one, and Viv's dark hands wrapped themselves around it. She nibbled on it for a moment, then studied it. She slipped it into her diaper and went back to watching the telly.

"Momma? Why's she doing that?" Coira said, nodding her head towards Vivian as the dark-skinned baby stuffed buts of cookie into her diaper.

"I dunno." Raechyl said with an exasperated sigh as she pulled Vivian up to sit on the couch with her. "Hon, it was gonna get there soon enough; you didn't need to speed up the process." she sighed. Removing the diaper, she started shaking out the crumbs.

Vivian's mouth twisted into a faint smile, and the a small giggle erupted from within. "Whoo!" she trilled, rolling off the couch and then proceeding to run around diaper-less.

Raechyl, shocked at the sudden show of emotion from the baby, simply sat and watched her.

Dear Diary//

Something kinda weird happened today. Vivian has always been quiet and calm. Maybe a bit too quiet. She's never really smiled before, but today she laughed.

Anyways, we have a shopping trip planned for tomorrow. I need to get some clothes for Vivian, she can't run around in my old shirts forever!

Vivian: Toddler Quest!

It's been a while, but Vivian has reached the point in which she can finally grow. However, she will need a few things before she can do so! She will need to locate three crystal orbs, something made of gold, a pair of black shorts, and a plastic flower.

Vivian smiled softly as they walked through the mall. She didn’t have to do anything. Raechyl pushed her along in the stroller, talking to Vivian even though she never said anything back.

“Viv, lets go over there first.” She said and pointed to a childrens' clothing store a bit further ahead. She also wanted to get sme toys for the little girl, but since they were already at this store, why not stop? As soon as they entered the store, a blonde, motherly woman with a store nametag walked up. Looking at the teenage girl pushing a baby in a stroller, she put on a sickeningly sweet smile.

“Is she yours? How cute. Can I help you with anything?” she said quickly in a high, falsetto voice. Apparently, she didn’t ask questions to gain answers.

“I need to get some clothes, for her.” Raechyl said. The woman pointed towards the back of the store, and then proceeded to walk Raechyl in that direction.

“I think I can take it from here.” Raechyl said, and then smiled as the woman walked away with a scoff.

“At least we got rid of her,” the teen said to Vivian as they came closer to a shelf with stacks of pants and shorts piled around. Looking through the piles, she said to the jalapeno baby, “If you see anything you want, just tell me.” Then rethinking Vivian, and her usual lack of speech, she added, “Or you could just point.” Having seen only pale, pastel colors, she looked to Vivian. "You don't want any of this pink or blue stuff do you?"

She pointing up towards a pile of pink, she wiggled her finger. “Hine,” she murmured, as if to say behind.

“Okay,” Raechyl said, and began sifting through a new stack of clothes. Near the bottom there were two or three black pairs of shorts. Grabbing one they headed to the register. How had Vivian known those shorts were there? she thought. She couldn’t see them; she was too low. Thankfully, the woman at the register was not the annoying blonde.

“Hello! Is there anything else I can get for you?” the woman at the register said with a kind smile. Raechyl shook her head and then spotted a few plastic flowers on the counter.

“Actually, can I get this as well?” the teenager said, handing her a large plastic sunflower.

At least Vivian has a toy now. I think I can find a stuffed animal somwhere too...

“Thanks,” she said to the woman as she was handed her bag. Just tea left, she thought as she left the store. There was a small, strange shop that she had heard about that sould many assorted things, from crystal balls and other enchanted items to even tea. Supposedly, they had a very large, impressive stock, and so Raechyl simply had to go check it out.

-----------------

The door squeaked as Raechyl slowly pushed it open. An overpowering stench wove around them, and Vivian coughed once. “Hello?” Raechyl said into the emptiness of the shop. There were shelves and tables everywhere, covered with many different items.

“Welcome. Can I help you with anything?” a crackling voice said, seeming to come from nowhere.

“Umm...” Raechyl hesitated. A bodiless voice. What a way to add to the illusion. “I came to get tea.” Feeling a bit sheepish, she began searching through the objects on the table.

“Well, come on then!” the voice said impatiently. Then a small old woman with long white hair emerged from a screened room. Her many adornments shone dully in the candlelight.

Following her to another, smaller room, Raechyl looked around. The other room was dark, but light was refracted all though this room. Crystal balls scattered their light all across the walls.

“Tea is in the next room, through there." She pointed in the opposite direction that they had just came from. "I know you’ll pay, so just leave the money on the table when you’re done.” The older woman then simply walked away.

Vivian looked up at the tables in wonder. Light shone everywhere in the beautiful speres. She tried reaching up at one, but Raechyl moved her hand away.

"It's fragile, you can't touch it." When she saw the toddlers stricken face, she softened. "Well, you can't touch it yet. I'll buy one for you, okay, then you can play with it later if you want."

The Sin'aeis smiled and looked back up at the table. "Ein," she said, pointing to three orbs near the far edge of the table.

"One, Viv." Raechyl repeated.

"Ein!" the child shouted, pointing again.

"Fine, fine. Just don't forget that you can't touch them yet."

Vivian then was began reaching for something set much closer to her: an ornate golden necklace with deep red gems encrusted throughout it.

"I'm going to go broke, shopping for you." Raechyl said, usable to say no tot he child that so clearly wanted these glittering items. She took the necklace as well, not letting Vivian hold it or the orbs. Slipping a large amount of money onto the table, she hurried out of the shop.

Connor//

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
Raechyl walked up the steps to the Sin'aeis masion, marveling all the while. It was insane that anyone had enough money for something like this. Her tiny apartment could never compare. Last time she had been here she had been in too much of a daze to really take in her surroundings. Honestly, she was still a bit flustered about all of this. She helped Vivian climb the last of the steps, and then held the door open for her.

Vivian smiled softly to Raechyl as the teenager held the door open for her. Though she was bigger now, the mansion was still huge. She walked foward, Raechyl following her. She looked around, hoping to see someone. Preferably someone she knew.

chapelier fou.
She looked around. There were small children everywhere, playing with others, or their guardians. They were all colors and sizes, playing with blocks, puzzles, drawing pictures, and running around. She held the bundle of blankets close to her, and leaned back on the couch. The mansion was big, bigger then it seemed from the outside. Her attention turned to the opening door. A lady walked in, holding the door for a small child who looked no older then a toddler. She smiled and looked down at Connor. The small babe in her arms looked so fragile as she slept, a paci in her mouth, and her chubby arms up against the side of her head.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
Raechyl walked with Vivian into a large, but cozy room. Vivian jumped up onto a couch, and Raechyl sat down next to her.

"TV?" the jalepeno girl said, looking around for a remote. There really wasn't much to do if no one was around, and the room was empty except for her and her guardian. She got off the couch again, and began walking around, looking for some form of entertainment. She could see Raechyl watching her, but it didn't bother her much. She knew Raechyl thought she was a bit strange, but she thought Raechyl was a bit off as well.

chapelier fou.
She turned to look at the girl who was now beside her, looking for the remote. She turned around and looked behind her. "I 'unno if the remote's anywhere to be found," she quipped, "I seen some young'uns looking earlier, and I don't believe they found it." She gave a quick grin towards the girl's general direction and went to pay her attnetion back to the child in her arms.

Connor yawned, and stretched, her eyes still closed. She slowly moved her head and slightly opened her eyes, squinting in the light. She yawned again, and rubbed at her eyes with a tiny, plump hand. Yawning again, she forced a small burp, closed her eyes and attempted to cuddle into her blankets again.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"Oh, okay. Thanks. Hey Viv, there's no remote." she repeated to the small girl, in case she hadn't heard. She looked back to the woman who had spoken to her. "You've got a Sin?" she asked, indicating the child in her arms.

Vivian walked up behind the couch. Setting her chin on her hands, she peeked at the small, sleepy baby. She looked up towards the woman, and then back at the baby. Cute, she thought, smiling. She had just emerged out of baby-hood, and still felt more comfortable around babies than others her age.

chapelier fou.
She looked up at the lady. "Oh, thanks!" She smiled. "Yeah, this is Connor." She looked down at the baby and gently stroked the babe's forehead.

Connor slowly opened her eyes and looked up. She looked from Chapelier to Vivian, and popped her thunb in her mouth. Having no clue what was going on, she blinked and kicked back at her blankets.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"Well, he's adorable." Raechyl liked to complement people. She liked making them feel good. He was adorable, so she said so. Maybe he could understand just a bit. Vivian understood a lot while she was a baby.....

"Hi." Vivian said quietly, and smiled at Connor. She liked meeting new people, but was often unsure what to think at first. She walked around to the front of the couch where Connor could see her better. She's quiet too, she thought as she stared into the muticolored eyes.

chapelier fou.
She tilted her head. "She's.. a girl." She looked at the lady with a look of amusment. "But I have to agree, she is cute. But then again, I guess i'm going to have a biased opinion?"

Connor looked up at her. She took the wet thumb out of her mouth and waved and wiggled her fingers towards Vivian shyly, as if reaching out for her. She opened her mouth and smiled, looking up at the small girl above her.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"Oh." Raechy said sheepishly. How embarrasing. "Well, boy or girl, she's still cute. And you have every reason to biased." Hopefully this spurt of adultish control had smoothed over that slip. Raechyl found that when she acted mature that first time she met anyone, they tended to think better of her. She was used to making childlike slips; it had become a part of her.

Vivian reached her hand out the the small baby. She seemed a bit shy, like herself, but not as much. Now that she thought about it, Vivian didn't really know why she was shy. "You...Connor?" she said, trying out words. She didn't really know what to say, but perhaps this baby could still understand her a bit.

chapelier fou.
She smiled at her. "It's fine, everyone makes mistakes." Raechyl seemed like a pretty nice person.

Connor gripped onto the girl's hand. She looked up at her through silver and keylime eyes, and bit her lip. Connor hadn't met many other Sin. She gurgled and pulled at Vivian's fingers, laughing and trying to pull them into her mouth.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
Raechyl simply smiled. She was glad that this woman understood. "Oh, by the way, my name's Raechyl." she thought she would say, just in case she hadn't. She couldn't remember saying it. Introductions weren't her thing. They just added to her list of mistakes.

Vivian let the giggling Sin pull her hand into her mouth. She smiled; the babies' toothless gums kinda tickled. She wondered if she had ever done that to anyone while she was a baby.

chapelier fou.
"M'names Amanda." She smiled back. "We just moved here recently." She pushed back the blankets on the baby in her arms.

Connor gummed on Vivian's fingers, holding her hand with both of her tiny hands. Pulling her knees to her chest, she wiggled her toes and grinned.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson

"Do you live in Durem?" Raechyl asked, thinking about how nice it would be for Vivian to have a friend nearby. They didn't know any of the people who lived around them. "Where did you move from?"

Vivian, her feet all stuck in those dumb shoes, wiggled the fingers on her other hand. She smiled back to the little girl. Maybe this baby could understand her. What should she say? She didn't know what other babies had liked to do; she hadn't liked much, other than people. "How old?" she asked of wither the baby or the adoptive mother.

chapelier fou.
"Yeah, we're in one of those new houses. You know, the ones that you always see them building along the outskirts of town, and up along the shops? I used to live in the country, though. Small farm. I lived mostly with my parents who raised me there. Know quite a bit from it, farming, animals, right? 'Course, kind of tough, grew up with a bunch of brothers!" She looked at her. "And yourself?" She hoped that Raechyl would happen to live nearby. She seemed like a nice person, and she knew that it would be benificial for Connor to have some friends to live near, when she grew up.

Connor grinned. She coughed twice, and pulled at Vivian's fingers softly, wiggling her toes again. She saw the wiggling fingers and made the attempt to reach for them, stretching with one arm, the other still held tight to Vivian's other hand.

"She's pretty newborn," she told Vivian. "Connor Rae isn't yet a year, and we're still waiting on her first words and such."

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"We live pretty close to the middle of the city, but Durem isn't that big. I'm glad Vivi will have someone nearby." she said with a smile. The jalepeno girl seemed to like being around people; she was always happier then. She would enjoy having a friend that live close. "Well, I'm an orphan. I don't remember my parents, but I was raised by a woman named Mara. I think she was one of my panernts friends, but I'm not sure. She worked at the Von Helson mansion, and she was there when the tower crashed." She really hadn't known Mara that well. The woman just put a roof over her head and gave her food. She was gone too often to really be a mother figure. "You lived on a farm? that sound really cool. I don't think I've ever been out of Durem before..."

"You 'kay?" Vivian asked after the other girl coughed. Maybe she shouldn't really be chewing on her hand.....well, as long as she was careful not to let Connor pull too hard, she would be fine. She put her other hand into Connor's reach, and giggled. Smiling at Connor's guardian, she wondered if the baby could fit two hands in her mouth.

chapelier fou.
She smiled. So she did live near. It was good, for both Connor and herself, to have someone around that they knew. "Yeah, I lived with my mother and father, and nine brothers. It was fun, I guess. We an around alot, and we played in the mud, and witht he animals, and stuff nearby. I grew up in the comapny of these boys I didn't really understand! I mean, they would intentionally do the most horrible, rude things to each other, and if you asked them why they did it, they looked at you as if you had just asked them what the color blue tastes like!" She looked at Raechyl. "Aw, i'm sorry about that, though."

Connor reached out and grabbed her hand, and squeezed it, taking one hand out of her mouth and replacing it with the other. She pulled Vivian closer, and wiped her foot on Vivians face, laughing and giggling.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"You had nine brothers?! Wow!" She was amazed. "I don't have any siblings that I know of. Does your family still own the farm?" she had never been to a farm before. She had seen pictures, but she had never been out of the city. Her thoughts trailed back to Amanda's nine brothers. The only boys Raechyl had ever known were the ones that she had gone to school with for a few years. Really, she should still be in school, but she'd have to wait until Vivian was a bit older. Maybe she would go to school too. "It really isn't that bad. Ya'know, I think it doesn't bother me because I don't know what it's like to live any other way. This is just the way stuff is." It really wasn't that bad; she actually liked it better this way. Apart from paying bills and stuff, she liked being an 'adult'. No one to tell you what to do.

Vivian's tattooed hand was released, and the other captured. The flame on her hand glistened, and then her face was all wet too. She lauged at the little baby, and put her free hand in front of her eyes, and then moved it away fast. She really didn't know why; it was just something Raechyl had done with her when she was younger.

chapelier fou.
"Yeah," she said, "Nine. It was pretty nice though, you could never really be bored around home." She smiled, thinking back to all the good tiems that she had spend on the farm, with her mom, dad, and expecially with her brothers.

Connor tilted her head and reached at the free hand again.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"That sounds like so much fun." Raechyl mused. Family sounded so fun. No sitting around being bored all day, and even if you're poor you still have people around. Mara had always been gone, and hadn't had enought money to spoil Raechyl. They got by, but just barely. Still, Raechyl had fun. She had a good imagination, so she got by. "Is Connor your only child?" She could see this woman having a lot of kids; she was probably used to having a lot of people around.

Vivian let her hand be taken again; she was quite inable to do anything. She smiled at Connor. The baby seemed to like her hands, and she didn't mind. Attention was good.

chapelier fou.
"Yeah," she told the lady, "Connor's my only daughter." She smiled down at the small girl. "I'm actually not in love with children. I mean, they're alright, but i'm going to have to get used to having them around again! I just came back from school, and i'm used to not having them around."

Connor tugged at her fingers, and kicked at Vivian with her feet. She laughed and smiled some, before taking back her hands and using them to rub at her eyes.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"That's cool. I've only got one, other than Vivi." She was a bit surprised that she didn't have a lot of kids, but what did she know? She could understand having to get used it though. It was a whole new cup of tea, for her.

Vivian stretched her fingers a bit, before the smaller Sin got a chance to take them back. "Tired?" she asked Connor, nearly yawning herself. It seem this was a bit contagious.

chapelier fou.
"Oh, really? And who would that be?" She looked down at little Vivian, and at Connor.
"Would you like to hold her, dear?", she asked the girl.

Connor yawned again.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"She's a little pixie. When I bought her, she was a bottle of dust. Didn't know it would explode and then I'd have her, but I'm glad it did." she said, thinking about her golden little Coira. She was a big help with Vivian, as long as she decided to behave.

"Mmm-hhm." Vivian said quietly, nodding her head. She looked up at Amanda, not really sure how to go about picking the baby up.

"Be careful, 'kay?" Raechyl said to Vivi, She knew she would, but she thought it would be best to remind her again.

chapelier fou.
She smiled at the girl and handed her she small child, wrapped up in blankets. "Here you go, dear." She looked back up at Raechyl. "Oh, that's kind of neat!"

Connor opened her eyes quickly, surprized by the changing of arms. She pulled back the blankets to look up at Vivian, and cuddled closer to her, closing her eyes again.

"Awuhh," She coo-ed. "B'lieve she likes you!"

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"Yeah, it's nice to have some help." It really was, even though Vivian was such a calm, quiet child. Coira knew kid things.

Vivian smiled warmly as the baby leaned into the crook of her small neck. Vivian sat sown on the ground gently and rested her head softly against Connor's. She was so warm! She swayed back and forth softly, enjoying the small warm bundle in her arms.

chapelier fou.
"Oh, I can imagine. Connor's quite a handful, though somehow I've managed to keep my sleep." It was a miricle that she had. Maybe it was because Connor spent 80% of her time sleeping, that she could manage to sleep during most of the night.

Connor closed her eyes and relaxed. She was warm and comfortable up against Vivian. She slowly raised one thumb up to her mouth.

Raechyl Zoey McKayson
"Vivian never really cried, so it was pretty easy at night. It's just hard to tell what she wants sometimes." Vivian's silence could easily be taken as a blessing and a curse.

Vivian hummed quietly. She didn't know any specific songs, so just made stuff up. She was quiet enough not to disturb Connor, but loud enough that the smaller child could still hear her. Perhaps if she was sleepy, this would help.

chapelier fou.
"Yeah, Connor's the same way."

Connor snuggled up closer to her, and slowly began to fall asleep.

Dear Diary//

I wonder if Mara had this much trouble being a single foster mom. She only had me, but I was probably more trouble than Coira and Viv. I finally got a job, but it's hard working almost full time and having kids at home. Coira, for the most part, can take care of herself, but it makes me nervous leaving Viv. She'd probably be fine, but I don't know if she would tell Coira if she needed anything, and I doubt Coira would really pay attention to her. So, I take her with me. My boss wasn't to excited about that, but he did say once that she was one of the quietest kids he has ever seen. I wonder sometimes if maybe she's mute, but then I remember that she has spoken. But only enough that I could count her words on my fingers and toes. Maybe if she saw some of the other food kids again, she would talk more. She seems to like them. I don't really remember their names, and I doubt she would either, but she remembered the blue-haired girl when she hadn't seen her for quite some time. Maybe we'll have to take a trip to the mansion again, and see if she can spend time with some of them on a regular basis.

Anyways, I've been trying to find out what kind of food she likes and if the food she is or whatever has any effect on that. She likes sweet food alright, but she likes savory things much more. I haven't given her any jalapeños yet, because I don't really know if it's okay for toddlers to eat those. I suppose she'll be alright, so I might to that soon. Who knows, it's possible that she will like them.

"Coira, let go, it might be something important!" Raechyl said as she tugged at some papers that Coira was attempting to fly around the room. She pulled them away and began sorting through them. "Bills, bills, bills...oh, something other than bills! Hallelujah!" She cried as she fought the urge to jump for joy. "Oh...nevermind." She said as she learned what it was, the disappointment obvious in her tone. "It's just a notice of a small park being added to the apartment complex. It says that there is going to be a picnic, though, for the people who live in the apartments. Do you guys want to go?" she queried, looking up from the notice and towards the dark skinned toddler in a high chair and the golden pixie sitting atop her head. Vivian, as always, looked indifferent, but Coira seemed interested.

"Will there be food?" the little pixie asked, looking hopeful.

"I do believe so, it is a picnic, after all." Raechyl laughed. She knew that Coira wouldn't know what a picnic was, but the question had been answered, so no matter. After looking back at the card to find the date of the party, she went to add it to her calendar.

Shopping surprise!//

RaechylRain
"Hey, Viv, see if you can find the blue box that we got last time, kay?" Raechyl said as she led the Sin'aeis down the isle of the grocery store. Shopping was so much easier with the jalepeno girl - she was always quiet and well behaved, and had an odd knack for finding the little things that Raechyl always missed.

"Here," Vivian said simply a moment later, handing the box up to her mother. "What's it?"

"It's tea." Raechyl had noticed that she had been talking a bit more lately, and had decided that she just hadn't spoken earlier because she hadn't known how. She still liked to try and engage her adopted daughter in conversations, however. It seemed to have become a habit. "Would you like to try some when we get home?"

"Sure," Vivian said. She didn't really know what it was, but tea was what Raechyl drank all the time, so maybe it was good.

Anvion
"No Brisby, don't eat the carrots yet."

"Baaa?"

"No. They're still dirty. Yuck."

With the practiced patience that came about to all shoppers with little children on shopping trips, Max disentangled the bag of carrots from Brisby's tiny hands, tossing them in the main portion of the cart and out of the little panda's reach.

Brisby blinked in surprise as his food was taken away, green eyes wide. Then he understood. "UBWEH."

"No. Eat when we get home and after I clean them. Make a fuss and you don't get any."

"Mmph."

RaechylRain
"Let's see...what's next? Oh, right, I've been meaning to get some jalepenos." When she had first visited the mansion, she met two other other Sin'aeis' who mentioned others and said they were different foods like Vivian was. She wasn't a jalepeno, that much was obvious. She looked mostly human...in shape anyways. Her colors were a little more exotic, but she was no walking pepper.

Raechyl didn't much like spicy foods, but she wanted to see what Vivian would do if she had a jalepeno. Maybe she transformed into one? ...That had been the most farfetched theory she had come up with yet. Rather dwell to much on what she suspected to be insanity, she pulled Vivian along towards the produce section.

Anvion
"Baabababa."

"You're chatty today." Max peered up from the peppers to shoot a look at Brisby. "What do you think, green or yellow?"

"PRIIIIII."

"...Right. Yellow peppers, then." Max picked up a few yellow bell peppers and bagged them, tossing them in the main basket of the shopping cart. "Geen would be good too,t hough..." he murmured to himself.

Out of the corner of his eye, Max noticed a woman and (what he assumed to be) her child approaching the pepper section. "Sorry," he muttered, scooting to the side to let her gain access to the peppers as well.

Brisby seemed to notice too. "PIPIPIWAAAAHHH." he screeched in incomprehensible baby talk, pointing to Vivian.

RaechylRain
"No problem," Raechyl managed to say before a screech interrupted her. See looked up from the peppers to see where the sound had originated from, found a pair of bright green eyes looking towards Vivian. The child was also looking at the emerald eyes, and she raised her hand in a type or unsure salute. Raechyl wasn't exactly sure what to do, so she just stood there, looking from Vivian to the black and white child who had just yelled, to the man holding it.

"Hi," Vivian said, breaking the silence with a simple syllable.

Anvion
Brisby seemed delighted that the little girl he had just screeched at replied back. "Bwee!" he exclaimed triumphantly.

Max couldn't help but smile as he rolled his eyes. "Sorry," he repeated. "He's been really chatty today..."

RaechylRain
"Oh, that's fine. I think she likes it." Raechyl smiled when she saw Vivian smile. "He's not human either, is he?" she asked, a bit sheepish at her lack of knowledge of her own daughter's species.

The Sin'aeis looked towards the black and white boy. "Vivian," she said, introducing herself.

Anvion
Max shook hs head. "Nope. He's some kind of critter called a Sin'aeis. They're souls bound to food or somesuch. This guy's name is Brisby," he added cheerfully.

"Vuhv." Brisby repeated. "Vuhv vuhv vuhv. AAAAN."

"Brisby! Don't scream in the store."

"Vuhv."

RaechylRain
"Ah. I knew that they were called Sin'aeis, but I didn't know much more than that. The note that came with her said something about jalepenos, and that's what I'm here to get. For her," she said, pointing at Vivian.

"B...Bisby?" Vivian said unsuredly, giving a questioning glance to the little Sin'aeis. She hadn't payed a bit of attention to the adults, her eyes focused on the little boy the whole time.

Anvion
"If it said Jalepeno, she's probably bound to a Jalepeno," Max offered helpfully, again thankful for Mignon's information. "Brisby's bamboo, which is why he looks like a panda. They sometimes tend to take on characteristics in relation to their element. Or at least, that's what I was told."

"Mbababababa. Bee." Brisby said, reaching out for Vivian. Her hair was so bright! He wanted to touch it! "Bweeeeee!"

"Brisby. Be good or you have to sit in the cart."

RaechylRain
"That makes sense. It would explain her flame marks at least." She said, looking over her daughter again. It was nice to meet another foster parent. She had learned more about guys during her visits to the mansion than she had about her daughter or what she was. "So, bamboo? I didn't know that people could eat that. Or does it not have to be human food?"

"Bee." Vivian said with a surety that said, 'This is what you are.' Bee reached his hand out toward her, so she reached back with her own flame-marked hand.

Anvion
"Actually, bamboo's found in a lot of Asian dishes." Not that Max had TRIED any, but a quick visit to the internet always did one good. "But yeah. It's not too common. As for human food or not..." a shrug. "I can't answer that myself. We've only met a couple other Sin'aeis so far."

Mmmf! Brisby struggled to grasp at the girl's hair. However, his daddy was FAR too tall, and the hair was frustratingly out of reach. "Uwaaa?"

"What is it?"

"Ubweh!"

UH. Why did babies talk so weird? Was he trying to say brown? "Yes Brisby, her skin is mostly brown. See? And her hair is red."

"Mnaaaaa!"

RaechylRain
"Same here," Raechyl commented in reference to the amount of Sin'aeis' she had met.

"Bee?" Vivian asked, also wondering what it was that the boy wanted. For the first time, she looked to the man holding him. He seemed to be looking at the child, also not sure what it was he wanted. She continued to hold her hand out for the boy, however far away he might be.

Anvion
"BEEEEE!" At this, Brisby began struggling against Max's grip. He wanted down, damn it!

Max sighed as he got the message. He wasn't too keen on setting Brisby down on the dirty floors here, but the kid was just going to keep fussing. Bath time when they got home, then.

"Fine, fine. But be good." Squatting down, Max set Brisby down on the floor. "Don't wander."

Brisby was too enthralled to pay attention. Shuffling over to Vivian as fast as he could crawl, he reached up once again to grab her hair. "Eee!"

RaechylRain
Vivian knelt down on the floor before Bee and held out her hand in case he needed her help to balance. She still wasn't sure what he had been reaching for, but maybe if she could help him stand, then he could get it. Maybe he could stand on his own. "You get up?" she asked.

Anvion
Brisby took Vivian's little hand, if only to pull himself up to where he was at hair-grabbing height. With his free hand, he reached out and got a good fistful of the bright red hair. Tug. Tug tug. Whee!

"Brisby," Max warned. "Don't pull. Play nice."

Tug tug. "Vuhv."

RaechylRain
"Bee! Stop!" Vivian yelled as she reached her own hand up to try to get his out of her hair, or to at least stop pulling. With a word from the tall man that had been holding Bee, the tugging became gentler, and she didn't mind that so much. As long as it didn't hurt. She smiled at Bee to let him know that that was okay.

Raechyl was a bit surprised at the volume of Vivian's voice, but she was getting used to the noise from Brisby.

Anvion
"Mrrah." Hee! She made funny noises when he pulled at her hair. However, the hair-tugging soon ceased, as it grew boring. Hmm. What now?

"Gyuh?" he asked, peering up at Vivian. Did she have anything interesting?

RaechylRain
"What?" Vivian asked when Bee looked up at her. She ruffled her hair as if to remind him that it was still there, if that was what he wanted. The she shrugged her shoulders, hoping he would understand that she didn't understand.

Anvion
Hmm. Boring. Time to explore around a bit! Brisby began to crawl off elsewhere, but Max was to quick for him.

"Oh no you don't!" Scooping up Brisby with one hand, Max straightened with the infant securely in his grasp. "No wandering in the stores, Brisby."

RaechylRain
Vivian watched as Bee was scooped up by the tall man again. She wasn't really sure what to think, but she didn't like the Bee had been so ready to leave already. She stayed silent, watching Bee, Raechyl, and the man until she decided what she wanted to do.

"So, Viv, do you want to grab some jalepenos? They're right behind you." Raechyl said pointing at the little red peppers. Vivian grabbed a couple and handed them to Raechyl before looking back up at Bee.

"Go 'splore?" Vivi asked, wanting to know if he wanted to walk around the store. Maybe if she went with him, he could go?

Anvion
Explore? Hmmm. "I'm not sure. Brisby's still a bit little to go exploring on his own."

"Nanananana. HUVUH."

RaechylRain
"Oh," Vivian said, looking slightly disappointed. "We play later?" she asked both Raechyl and the the man holding Brisby.

"I don't have a problem with that as long as you don't," Raechyl said to Brisby's gaurdian. "Im Raechyl, by the way. Not sure if I mentioned that or not." she smiled.

Anvion
Max nodded. "Sure. Oh, I'm Max. Here, let me get this..."

Settling a grumpy pandababy in the seat portion of the cart, Max dug through a coat pocket, pulling out a notebook and pen. Flipping it open, he scrawled out some information before handing it to Raechyl. "There's my number. If you ever want to get something scheduled, feel free to call. We're free most days in the winter."

RaechylRain
"Alright. That'd be nice, thanks." Raechyl said as she took the paper. Vivian was much, much happier around other people. She would have to call sometime, but for now, she had to get back to the flat to make sure that Coira hadn't burned it down in her absence.

"Bye Bee!" Vivian waved as her foster mother pulled her towards the stores exit to buy their groceries.

Anvion
"Take care!" Max called with a wave as the pair departed. "Say bye, Brisby."

"AnaVUHV."

Good enough. With one last wave, Max went off in another direction. Time to finish up and head on home. But yay! It looked like another friend for Brisby!

A Lovely Day//

RaechylRain
Raechyl watched as Vivian arranged some small rocks in a circular pattern on the grass. There was a bit branching out from the circle in one direction, but when she had asked the little Sin'aeis about it, she had merely said, 'I know.' Unsure of what Vivian was creating, Raechyl watched for a bit more before tightening her jacket and rearranging her knees against her chest. The wind was blowing nicely, and the sky was covered in pale grey clouds. The cold was nice, but it was still cold. She looked around the small meadow partially hidden by treed that she had found on the outskirts of Durem and wondered if anyone else knew of it's location.

Donna the Vixen
The errant chill in the air was refreshing against the woman's moist flesh. Winter was thawing into the first days of early Spring, releasing new life in many different forms. Not that the life was entirely new, simply where it wandered. Neither of them had been so far from the sea and the barrage of fresh sensations was tangibly tantalizing. The eyes young one that hung from his mother's hip constantly roved the meadow, absorbing the vast array of new colors. Time was on his side for this, for Crystal moved almost hesitantly through the tree fringe, silently jubilant in the undertaking of their expedition, but still cautious in lieu of what they might discover.
But wasn't that the point? Ah, to discover, to brave the unknown. They had been shacked up too long in the reef, so now it was determined that there was too much to discover left! Pouple in particular needed the stimulation, and had gone so far as to crack the metaphorical eggshell surrounding his otherwise reclusive behavior. By only this means did he make an inaudible proclamation of his findings, entirely audible to his mother but unaware of the sound himself as his eyes fixated upon a pair of figures. One appeared a familiar stranger, one set apart from the common children at play, but so distant as to be unknown to him. He cried out and reached for her, finding himself propelled in that direction as his carrier turned, now seeing the girl for herself. The nautilus waved wide to the parent and child and grinned (as best she could with tentacles) "Salut! `Allo there!!"

RaechylRain
Hearing the voice call from across the meadow, Raechyl supposed that her question was answered. She waved to the pair as they walked towards her. Standing, she pulled her wild hair out of the way as best she could in order to see the approaching figures.

Vivian looked up from her designs and looked wonderingly at the pair. They were odd, yes they were. Very strange. But to the jalepeno girl, this was good. Usually. The more unique, the better. She smiled as she was the boy reach for her, and began walking towards them.

Raechyl followed the child, keeping a watchful eye on her. She didn't think that the two mean any harm, but it never hurt to be cautious. These two were also obviously unhuman. How odd would that be if they were Sin'aeis? she thought. They had run into quite a few of them lately.

Donna the Vixen
Crystal ventured closer to the pair and stopped a few feet away. Cordially, she inclined her head and waved again. "`Allo! Ca va? How are you on this day?" As she spoke, the carbonated amber eyes traveled to and fro betwixt them, although straying to the girl more so than her guardian. Was it fate? It was! It must be, after all. Yet, she could be mistaken...she chuckled softly. "I see you have a little girl! Is she, how do you say, a Sin'? She is so pretty!"

It seemed Crystal was not the only one to think her pretty. A quiet smile played upon the infant's features as he gently swatted the air.

RaechylRain
"I'm good, you?" Raechyl said, incling her head in turn. "And yes, she is." She wasn't sure whether or not she should be surprised, meeting another Sin'aeis, but she decided it didn't matter much either way.

"Thank you," Vivian answered politely. Raechyl was glad that she had spent some time teaching Vivian the 'magic words', even if she had to spend almost an hour explaining what magic was and that the words weren't really magic. Vivian smiled widely at the other guardian, obviously pleased that she had been called pretty. She then looked at the child, and gave him a smile as well, while she waved her hand in a sort of greeting.

Donna the Vixen
"I am very, very good! It is lovely today." Be it grey and cloudy. This was considered lovely weather to her though, with the luscious grey matter blocking out the harsh sunlight. What was truly wonderful about today though was finding another Sin! Crystal gently unfastened Pouple from her hip holster and held him in better view, rather than tucked into his blanket fortress. "This one, he is Pouple, he is a Sin`! He is glad!"

Almost in tangent to his mothers words, he wriggled happily. It was one of the few expressions he really understood that would give him attention. He wriggled, his mother nuzzled, and other people liked it to. Did the girl though? She looked like it! He waved both his tiny hands in the air in response to hers.

Crystal gently placed a finger ontop of his head. "This one, he is sweet, yes? He does not understand the speech."

RaechylRain
"Oh, it is lovely, isn't it? I love the clouds." Raechyl said, looking at the sky. "Her name is Vivian," she added, indicating the bright haired child next to her. She would have pulled Vivian up to put her in better sight distance, but Raechyl was short enough that it wouldn't have made much difference.

"What name?" Vivian asked when the wiggling child's name had been given. She was sure that she had misunderstood; who would have a name like that? Yes, they were strange. She began to wonder if it was a good thing, but the child was rather cute. What exactly was the other thing though? She looked at as if trying to decide when the baby wiggled his hands and her attention was captured once again.

"Well, yes, most babies don't understand speech." Raechyl said with a gentle smile. "He is very adorable, though. And his name is Pouple, Vivian. Correct?" she queried of the other guardian.

Donna the Vixen
"Vivian," she repeated, "Is a lovely name, yes." It was almost as though the child were her own, the way she beamed over the idea. Than again, the writhing tentacles made her expression difficult to differentiate either way, so perhaps the woman would find it best just to assume her amusement. Vivian's question diverted her musings though and she nodded in accordance to the woman's answer. "Yes, this one is Pouple. It is French for what he is."

Just what he was could be debated. The child almost looked like a normal child, if one overlooked the odd coloration and eyes. The pupils resembled a cat, albeit the hues were totally different. Besides, who would have a cat Sin? Cats were not delicious!

RaechylRain
"What is he?" Raechyl asked, seeing as she knew no French. He was a pale green, so perhaps his food-element was pale green? But what about those eyes? They seemed very...feline. Raechyl had never in her life heard of a pale green cat. Or a cat of any shade of green, for that matter.

Still unsure that she had heard his name correctly, (Poople? Why would anyone name a child that?), Vivian looked back to the child and, struggling not to wrinkle her nose at the thought of his name, wondered why he was called that.

Dante had been gone from this place far too long. And as a single father, Kellen had been up and down all sorts of hurdles to try and take care of himself and his child. It was starting to get to the point where he was thinking about taking up his father's offer to pay for... well... everything. At least until Kellen got back on his feet. While tragic, Falcon's death had left a ton of debt - not that Falcon had meant to do so. Regardless of intent, what was done was done, and Kellen found himself in debt up to his eyeballs. And thus had to work hard and work long to pay it off. Truthfully, it was good for him. It got his mind off his problems while he was working. But it was bad for Dante. The only company his little "fin" had during the day was whatever managed to swim into his pool, and Silas. Silas was always around, even if it was only for a short time. As a matter of fact, he was 'around' right now, helping a not-entirely-healthy Kellen inside, and holding Dante in his arms.

"Don't worry about a THING, cousin. You just take a rest. Take an easy. I'll watch the little one. No problems there."

"Silas, I don't want a repeat of last time I left you alone with him..."

"That was NOT my fault, okay? The man had it coming. I didn't know Dante could bite."

"Well, he can. Keep that in mind. And if you need ANYTHING, you know my cellphone number. I have it turned on."

"You should turn it off, and actually sleep for once."

"I will be sleeping. Hopefully."

With that, Kellen hugged his cousin, kissed his son on the forehead, and staggered back out to the car. He was going on a forced vacation to a small spot just outside the main islands off the coast. Something he'd wanted to do for years. Silas had booked the trip, and he couldn't back out now.

"Just relax, Kel. I'll take care of him."

Silas grinned, and waved to Kellen, watching until he was out of sight, before bringing the toddler Dante back into the center, and sitting on one of the rugs with him. He noticed someone was there, but didn't bother saying hi. If someone wanted to talk to him, they'd talk to him. In the meanwhile, he busied himself playing with Dante, tickling his fins, and generally trying to make him happy. While he wouldn't have admitted it for the world, Silas was very good with children.

Donna the Vixen
"A squid!" was the eager reply. It fit so well! Betwixt the two, a nautilus and a squid, fate had been oh so clever to bring them together. "Calamari to be precise, yes? It is wonderful to have a Pouple." The explanation would suffice for some things. The coloration of the flesh, those eerie eyes, the inability to hear a thing...

Not that the child was aware of that last bit. The world had always been completely devoid of sound, so he merely used other methods. Once he knew attention was his, he began communicating, as best an infant could, using sign. Play?

Crystal observed the motion without much change to her standing and grinned at Vivian. "This one would like to play!"

(( Now bringing in a reply for Silas since he's at the center and not the meadow, yet. ))

Silas's phone would be ringing soon. Solo tapped his foot, impatient as the signal dialed in and the line began to ring. Had he been forgotten? Something had been hastily mentioned that morning, a brief wave and kiss goodbye before Silas had rushed out the door. It was their anniversary though, so Solo couldn't help feel a bit slighted for waiting outside of the hospital only to find Silas had left before him. The phone continued to emit it's sound as he pushed off the wall and started towards the car, determined he would find Silas one way or the other. Hopefully he would answer before he went about wasting a tank of gas looking.

"So, Pouple means Calamari?" Raechyl asked as an amused smile played across her lips. She didn't know much about squid, so she just assumed that a squid would look vaguely similar the pale green Sin'aeis. When the boy waved his hands in front of himself and the nautilus stated his desre to play, Raechyl understood what she had meant by him not being able to understand speech.

Vivian smiled up at Crystal when she said the baby wanted to play. "What do?" she asked, turning back to Pouple.

“What color is your shirt today, Vivian?” Raechyl asked the little girl who was trailing behind her. Slowing her steps to match the child, she waited for an answer.

Blue!” the jalepeno Sin’aeis shouted. Her shirt happened to be a bright shade of green, but Raechyl choose not to argue the point for now. She wasn’t sure if the girl was quiet because she was sad or upset, or because she simply was. These moments came and went, and instead of risking it and upsetting the girl by saying she was wrong, Raechyl let the child have her moment of loud happiness.

"What about my shirt?"

"Pink!" came the reply, correct this time.

"We're here," Raechyl smiled down at the Sin'aeis. "And look at all the colors. Can you name them?" This time there was no answer. The bright-haired girl stared wide-eyed at her surroundings. They had come to a small indoor play park, at Vivian's request to 'do something fun.' Paying the fee to get in, Raechyl carted her charge to a room with a soft play-area maze. Thankfully, this place serves food, she noticed. "Viv, go ahead and play while I go get a pizza or something, 'kay? Just don't forget to take off your shoes. See the sign over there? You can get in trouble if you don't and they catch you, because it's dangerous. Go ahead now," she said as she headed off.

Take off my shoes? Why? The girl looked down at the beautiful red, sparkling dress shoes that her mother had finally consented to let her wear. No, she should not remove the beautiful things, of course not. Ignoring her mothers' council, but being sure to keep her feet out of sight, she spun and danced and bounced around in the ball pen, rejoicing in the glorious amount of color.

Some time later, Raechyl came back and set the pizza on the table, accompanied by a soda for the jalapeño girl.

"Vivian!" she called, and the little girl darted from among the throng of children to the table. Settling herself on the chair she began eating the pizza (toped with peppers, of course, as the child had proven to like them very much) without so much as a glance at Raechyl.

"Well, you're very welcome," she laughed, never noticing the shoes still residing on Vivian's feet.

Affinity/Aversion
Unfortunately you had to return that knife, Vivian, but no matter. You won't need it for this quest anyways. Your guardian or someone in your family needs to take you out to a place for children, like a theme park or an indoor play place sort of deal. This place needs to have several strict rules, and at least one of these needs to be a rule that you have every intention of breaking. Break this rule, stealthily or publicly, and do what you feel is necessary if/when you are confronted about it.
