Aylee
Chaco touched down on the doorstep of yet another house. This was getting far too repetitive, but he didn't want to have to carry any more screaming babies around through the air. Thus, as soon as he found where it was, the chocolate Sin'aeis child slipped a while envelope into the mail box, rapped heavily on the door and took off back into the air. Once the note is opened, it reads:

Note
Dear Sir or Madam;

I would like to reqest you're presance at Aileen Shiroko's Estate, 12 Elton Avenue. Please come as quikly as you can.

Thank you,

Chaco Shiroko

The letter is spelled badly, but the writing is at least readable. The only part the writer seemed to be sure on was the address included.

The family has another new addition.

And he won''t stop shrieking.

Gods, let me start over. Yesterday morning, Acia and I went and dropped by the Velveteen shop. We stayed for a few hours, no one showed up, and so we went home. Upon arrival, I found a note in the mailbox from one ''Chaco'' asking me to come to his house as soon as possible. I''d never even heard of this guy! ....But I went anyway. Took Acia as some sort of defense...thing.

So we get to the adress and it''s this huge fancy manson place. Very nice, much newer than the House, if not quite as big. We knock, some woman answers and shoos us off to another room to meet this ''Chaco''. He wasn''t at all what I''d imagined. Nope, just some skinny kid with creepy wings. I figured we could trust him, even if Acia was wary.

Once Acia stopped threatening him, Chaco explained why he had left the note. He wanted me to adopt a kid... Just, out of the blue, never having spoken to me before. Already I doubt this guy''s sanity. Probably better that I did take the poor baby.

''Cause, yeah, I did. Chaco went and g ot him, and I just...well, come on, it was a BABY. Blame me not, he was, and is, adorable. Kinda creepy looking, though. Gray skin, pointed ears, one gold horn.... Element of ''lamb''. Teehee, black sheep... That can''t be good.

But now we''re home and Lyrus (as I''ve named lamb) with us. He was perfectly wonderful while I gave him the grand tour, but now... He just won''t stop screaming! I swear he''s only doing it to spite me. How do I know? ''Cause every so often he''ll pause and sort of grin (catching his breath), and then he''s off again.

GAH, SHUTHIMUPBEFOREIGOMAD!

...Meh... Maybe Adroi''ll bite him...

Well...he's stopped screaming, at least. And I was right, there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. Maybe he's just disoriented... New house and all. I guess that would make sense. But it doesn't give him the right to bawl his head off over nothing!

But, as I said, he has stopped, so perhaps there's a chance for peace yet. In any case, he seems happy enough right now. A couple of days ago, I introduced him to his 'brothers'; Jax, Coen, and Adroi. He seems to like them, which is good. Adroi especially. I think their personalities are a bit alike, though Adroi is much quieter.

Anywho, he's playing with them as I write this. (I'm watching from across the room.) Playing as well as an infant can, anyway. More like...stitting there watching Jax play with Calt and Coen. But he's smiling, and giggles every so often, so I take that to mean he's happy.

He really is a sweet kid... Er, I think. Guess it's a bit early to decide. We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose...

Hmm, 'nother update. Lyrus is still happy, thank goodness. He's given up on Coen (the egg annoys him) and Jax has given up on him (Lyrus can't walk, and thus Jax finds him useless), but Adroi seems to like him very much. Or, tolerates him or some such. Dunno, it's hard to associate friendship with either of them. Lyrus and Adroi, I mean. They both seem very....err...singular? More for their own company than that of others.

But they do get along. Lyrus is more vocal, and Adroi perfectly content to lisen. Neither can move much on their own; Lyrus has trouble just sitting up, young as he is, and Adroi has sort of an awkward crawl, so they just kinda...chill?

Umm... of course, I could be blownig everything out of proportion. They're both babies. Maybe they think that each other looks funny and sit there insulting each other. 'Cept Adroi doesn't say anything. Lyrus babbles a lot though... Umm...

Yeah, I don't know. Babies confuse me. As long as they're happy, I'm happy. Good philosophy, aye? So many babies... How many, exactly? Well, let's count.

So we have Jaxom (that's one), Adroi (two), Coen (even though he's an egg, three), and now Lyrus. And then when Jack and Isto come over, we can add in the twins (Dari and Zach, we're up to six) and L'aven (another egg, seven). Thank goodness that Faust has grown, or we'd have more.

...Just reread this entry. I do ramble so. I'm not complaining or anything. I love the boys! But I don't have any help like I used to. Jack and Isto have moved out and have kids of their own, and Acia spends most of her time in the lab. Scion refuses to come within two yards of any baby, and Kama... well, I really don't trust him with children under 5.

Hmm.... Perhaps Banda? Admittedly, his hearing is extremely bad even with those earphones, but he doesn't need to hear to take care of a baby, right? Maybe for Jax, 'cause he's started talking a bit, but not the others. Hmm...

You know, that might work. I'ma go bug him about it. If he's not painting, I'm sure he'd be willing to. Banda's good like that. Taa, log.

Ahhh, peace! Banda agreed to watch Lyrus and Adroi, so I've only had to deal with Jax and Coen. It won't be a full time thing, of course. I'm still Lyrus' primary guardian. But... well, mayhaps I'll start getting Banda to write entries for this log, too. Seeing as I've no idea what Lyrus has been up to and all. Whenever I've seen him, he's been happy, so that's enough for me.

Umm.. Actually, I think I'll leave off here and go get Banda. Let him catch up on things. Bye!

I'm not really sure how to begin this. It's been a good few months since I've actually written in any sort of journal, let alone one that isn't mine. This is Banda, by the way. That probably tells you nothing, but I'd rather not elaborate. I'm not sure what I'd say.

...I sound so formal. I'm really not, but I'm not the best speaker (hearing problems; can't hear words, jumble them up) so I tend to get flowery with my writing. Write what I can't say and such. So, please excuse the formality. I'll lighten up eventually.

But now I'm stealing the show. This is Lyrus' journal, not mine. But what to say about Lyrus..? Firstly, I don't think he's nearly as malicious as Moo seems to. He's been absolutely perfect for me. But then, I did pamper him a bit.

I let him finger paint, and he seemed to enjoy that. None of my good paints, of course, nor paper. I had some old, cheap acrylics that I let him use, and I keep a large roll of black newspaper paper in my studie. Cut him a big piece of that and let him go to work.

It actually didn't look half bad when he was 'finished'. Random, certainly, and the colors clashed a bit strangely, but at least he didn't smear everything into brown. He didn't even get much paint on the floor (which is coming along nicely, might I add. I've nearly finished the back half, but I think I'll go back to work on the ceiling before I go any further).

Um...hmm, that's about all he's been up to. As I said, I've been working on my 'murals', so Lyrus and Adroi have just been watching and fingerpainting. Which is actually what they're doing right now. Except Lyrus seems to have decided that he is tired of paper, and is now smearing paint over Adroi's head. I'd better go rescue him. Signing out.

Noyama wasn't sure why she felt the urge to come back to this place with Akilah gone...

Maybe she'd been hoping to find Dia wandering around or something. There were a few people she more then the rest wasn't looking forward to running into.Neither Ema or Ana were one of them, but the fox-eared girl didn't even seem to notice their arrival.

She lay in the grass only a short distance away, holding up a familiar feather,a thoughtful look on her face as the sunlight shone through it.Kilah's feathers had been falling out almost constantly,Noyama had noticed.

Not long afterwards, Moo arrived as well, an unusually cheerful Lyrus tucked under one of her arms and doing his best to gnaw her hand off her wrist. Thankfully, he had no teeth. She would likely loose a few fingers the day he grew them.

As it was, she was still in one piece, and had finally found a bit of time to drop by the mansion again. However, the same idea seemed to occur to her as to Ema. She stared silently at the door for a moment, then shrugged and decided against ringing the bell, instead heading around towards the backyard. Hey, that Chaco kid had said she could just come in, so she might as well explore the grounds, right?

When she finally reached the backyard, it came as a surprise to actually find someone else there. And another Lyrus-thingy too, by the looks of it. (Eck, what were they called? She couldn't recall; maybe Chaco hadn't even said.) Regaining her composure, she waved her free had slightly in greeting, then remembered the strange positioning of Lyrus and quickly righted the infant, who merely sent a glare her way before resuming his gnawing. Such a sweet boy.

"Umm... Hallo. Sorry if we're disturbing anything..."

Ema was so tired that it took her a few minutes to notice Oriana pointing and babbling about something..
"Honey, mom needs to rest." she said, her voice tinged with annoyance, even though she tried not to have it that way..
"Alright, alright, what?" she asked sitting up so she could see Noyama on the grass, but where was Kilah?
"Hey Noyama!" Ema responded from her lawn chair as Oriana clapped her hands, excited she would see the other girl with the feathers..

This is when another person grabbed her attention.. who was that? Was her child gray? So many oddly-colored babies. Such an odd place...
"Hi! Oh no, just sitting here. My name is Ema." she replied with a small smile while Oriana titled her head curiously at the other baby..

Her green eyes sparked as her name was called, and her gaze shot sharply sidewards, almost expecting Kilah to be there. The voice who called to her wasn't Dia,but she did recognize it almost as well.Placing a hand beside her,she pushed herself into a sitting position, and waved with her free hand that still posessively clutched the feather."Hello,Friend Ema!"

"It's nice to meet--" And the this 'Ema' jumped up and was gone. How unusual. Raising an eyebrow, Moo watched her go, the shook her head sadly and glanced down to Lyrus. "Strange people 'round here, kiddo..." The Lamb Sin'aeis scowled a reply, gnaws unceasing, then finally took it into his mind to look around, pointing a finger out at Noyama as any baby would, though his look was accusing, as if she shouldn't be anywhere near HIM.

Disregarding the look, Moo followed his point over to Noyama, raising an eyebrow at the sight of yet another unfamiliar person before shrugging and starting over, smiling a greeting. "I think we scared her away, sorry. I'm Moo. And this is Lyrus."

The way her ears twitched let on she was listening, but her eyes were focused on Lyrus the entire time. With the way Kilah had been acting lately,no doubt these two would've either gotten along well or started the first fist fight among Sin'eais babies.Ah,she missed her...

She smiled slightly at the thought, but it faded as she shook her head and glanced up at Moo,nodding in comfirmation."Am Noyama.Nice meet you.Lyrus is grumpy baby yes?"

Cameo gurbled, and grabbed at her protector's hat as Phantom carried her. She knew this place, she noticed as she looked around at where she was, she had been here many times before. "Myah!" She cried at her protector, throwing her hands in the air. "Mah!" Then Phantom stopped, and Cameo looked around again. There was the Kilah's protector! But . . . Cameo's face fell . . . No Kilah. Where had Kilah gone?

Phantom waved towards Noyama, smiling. "Hey, Noyama! Fancy meeting you here, eh?" After walking up closer, Phantom noticed a person she hadn't met before. Soon she bent her head down, an instictive move to try and make herself invisible. "Hey, I'm Phantom."

There was another baby! Cameo noticed, cheering and clapping her hands together. Someone new!

"Well..." Briefly, but only briefly, Moo considered sticking up for the baby Sin'aeis that she had taken in. But then the little bugger nearly bit her finger off, and she decided honestly was best. "Eh, that's a bit of an understatement, I'm afraid. But y'get used to him. And it's nice to met you, by the way."

She probably would have said more, but at that moment Phantom arrived and diverted her attention. She offered a warm smile in greeting when she noticed how 'shy' this person seemed, nodding slightly. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Moo."

Lyrus turned his eyes over to Phantom, briefly appraising the woman before turning his dark gaze to Cameo. He frowned faintly and didn't bother to 'reply'. Great, another hyper one...

Noyama smiled warmly at Phantom and waved her hand.Though she wasn't at all unwelcoming with the new arrivals (even if the baby seemed grumpy),it was nice to see a familiar face.More so when Ema had to rush off so quickly. Her eyes moved to Cameo and she got to her feet and moved over, patting the baby on the head between her horns."Noyama is nice to see you again,Friend Phantom.Cameo look beautiful."

Sometimes,it slipped her mind other babies weren't like Kilah, and she didn't have to approach them so slowly since they were plenty capable of seeing.

Phantom smiled a bit at Moo, and then turned to Noyama. "It's nice to see you too, Noyama. Cameo is looking quite nice today isn't she?" For a moment she considered commenting on Kilah's lack of appearance, but then she felt that it would be best that she didn't. She still remembered how quikly the two had left the day before, and Phantom wasn't quite sure how she'd react. Instead, Phantom bit her lip and turned to Moo, speaking softly. "What's his name," She indicated the child that Moo held.

Cameo pouted at the other baby, not liking the way he hadn't replied. She soon smiled as Noyama patted her on the head, and the hooved baby giggled. "Maah!" She clapped her hands cheerily.

Noyama smiled brightly at the response.Kilah hadn't really ever been near as cheerful as Cameo even before her recent but common temper tanturms.Lifting the feather, she tickled Cameo's nose and couldn't help but giggle herself."Can she walk with those...?"

Moo felt a bit awkward standing in on a conversation between two people who obviously knew each other, so while they talked she distracted herself with trying to free her finger from Lyrus. Each time she managed it, the boy would simply find something else to gnaw on. Stubborn little wretch. If only he wasn't so cute...

She glanced up slightly when Phantom addressed her, staring blankly at the woman for a moment before she realized who she must be talking about. "Hmm? Oh, this is Lyrus. And yours is... Cameo, she said? She's darling.."

The Lamb Sin'aeis glanced back to Cameo when she seemed to lose interest in him, frowning faintly and sticking out his tongue her way. "Phhhhhpppttt!"

"Bad baby! Baaad baby!" came the sound of Azurai's scolding as she came through the door, shutting it with her foot. Grinning evilly in her arms was baby Lex, having just done something apparently very bad. She wagged a finger in his pale face. "We don't spit on the strangers!" she said, and the baby giggled. She sighed. "You're a handful, hun," she said, and looked up. She glowed.

"Hey you guys! I didn't know people would be here!" she said, obviously surprised at the small crowd. She looked down at her little ice baby, who was glaring up at her with utmost hate. "Have you all met Lex yet?" she said with a grin.

Phantom smiled at Moo, getting used to the other woman. "She is, isn't she. Lyrus is as well," She added with another smile, but soon a small frown came to her lips as she heard Noyama's question. "We're not quite sure if she can yet. She's tried to walk on them a couple of times, but never has." Phantom sighed, tracing a hand over Cameo's cheek. At the sudden arrival of another woman, Phantom started. Two new people - in one day. She felt slightly off by this all. Nevertheless, she waved at the lady in the warmest way she could.

While Phantom's head was turned, Cameo caught sight of Lyrus. Copying what the other baby had done, she stuck her tounge out at him. "Mmmm!"

Dia walked up the path to the mansion, but didn't even bother to knock on the door. Instead, she made her way slowly to the backyard area. For the last couple days, everyone seemed to hang around on the grass. Maybe it was the sudden change in the weather? Or maybe the owner had started locking her doors.

As soon as she turned the corner at the mansion she saw a small group already gathered. Among them she spoted a few familiar faces and.. Noya! ..Without Kilah? How strange. Maybe she was home with Lucky..

"Hi Noya", she greeted with a smile.

Vivian's ears moved slightly to the sound of the others. finding a way to sneak out of Sketchy's sight she crawled over and plopped down next to Azurai, remembering lex as she reached for his hair tuffs.

"Uhh, Vivian?" Sketchy turned the corner cursing to himself for being an idiot thinking Vivian could be left alone for about two seconds.

Noyama listened to what Phantom said and nodded. It seemed that this female was always nervous with other people. With all the sudden appearences, maybe she felt it better to give her some more space. But whatever the reason, she stepped back from Phantom and turned around just in time to hear Dia calling her. "Hello to you."

The arrival of Azurai was very, very welcome. Now she actually knew someone here! Moo waved a greeting and flashed a grin, then turned her gaze to the Ice baby. "Hallo Rai! Good to see you again. So this is in infamous Lex? Eck... he looks like he'd get along well with Lex." She jabbed a finger down towards the frowning infant, then turned her attention to the other new arrivals, waving in greeting.

Lyrus barely took the time to look around at the others before returning his scowl to Cameo. SHE had stuck out her tongue at HIM!? Ohh, he was furious. So he made a face at her. HA, take that pinky!

"How are you? And where's the cranky one?", she asked jokingly, referring to her last meeting with Kilah.

And then sensing her rudeness, of barging into the little group, she blushed a bit, before nodding towards the others in greetings politely.

There were also, three little babies whom she hadn't met yet. They were all so cute. How many more of them were there?

Azurai grinned and positioned herself between Sketchy and Moo, setting a rather sour looking baby down in front of him. He raised a tiny thin eyebrow as Vivian reached out for his tufts of hair. He looked like he was going to spit again, but to Azura's surprise, Lex held back.

"Hey, Moo! Didn't know you'd be here! Aaah, and this is little Lyrus. How...happy he looks," she said, grinning as well. She too was glad to see a familiar face among this crowd of strangers. "Hi, I'm Azurai," she said somewhat shyly, feeling a little like she was in a support group. "And this is Lex," she said, patting the little baby on his little blue fuzzy head. One could almost hear his teeth grinding.

It took what little willpower Noyama had not to let that bad habbit of letting her ears show her mood shine through. She smiled fakely and failed to answer.Noyama didn't lie.Even in cases like this one.

She did, however, she no problem in consistantly changing the subject."Dia hear?Hear about Chaco?Make bug baby." She giggled as she said this, still finding the story amusing.

Cameo scrunched her nose up at Lyrus and made a face at him in return. Her protector was still looking away, still occupied with the many people. "Blaakshhh!" She gurbled.

Phantom smiled weakly at the new people, just barely saying "Hi". What Noyama said interested her, however. "A bug? Really, how'd that happen?"

"Bug baby?" Jeane called, hustling up with Mignon in a backpack-snugli. The girl screeched as soon as she saw Noyama, making Jeane wince. She deposited the girl on the ground, and Mignon made her way over to Noyama, patting her foot when she finally dragged herself there.

"Uhh, forgive me. My name's Sketchy and this is-" He reached down and ruffled Vivian's hair. "Is Vivian." She gave a confused look and did the same to her own hair with a giggle, afterwards she gave a playful stare at Lex.

Dia didn't even notice Noya's avoidance of the question. Blame that on her lack of attention spam. She'd be sure to ask again later though, no doubt.

"A bug baby??", she repeated as her eyes widened. Well, if that didn't sound odd enough. She couldn't help but join in on the giggling. Her mind was filled with images of beatles with baby faces.

"Haha, did you see it?", she asked. She was curious to know how the baby turned out. Hopefully, not has her imagination pictured.

Still giggling she turned to notice another woman appearing with a screeching baby.

"Hello!", she said through fits of laughter.

Noyama nodded and snickered to herself.Noticing Mignon, she blinked and kneeled down to her, holding one hand out.Only after the gesture did she notice that the hand she offered was the one she held the feather in.Frowning, she grasped it briefly before holding it out to Mignon."Here Mignon. From Kilah."

"Lyrus and I were out looking for Acia," Moo admitted, grimacing faintly. "The mansion was on the way, so I though we'd drop in for a few. You haven't seen her, have you?" She paused briefly, then glanced down to Lyrus, who was frowning with concentration while trying to think up a reply to Cameo. "Oh yes, very...happy."

"Aaaraaagggghpt!" Lyrus declared and a scowl, making a serious of expressions over at Cameo, and all the while...getting happier. Hey, cheerful this girl may be, but at least she wasn't a wuss. Competition was exciting!

Jeane waved to Dia, smiling. But the smile faded from her face when she looked back at Noyama. "Where is Kilah, Noya?" She asked.

Mignon grasped the feather and stared at it, frowning slightly. She tipped her head to one side and echoed Jeane's tone: "Lala?"

Lex stared back at Vivian, blinking, his scowl remaining, but not at her. He didn't really understand other people...Actually, the only baby he'd really ever -met- was Vivian, when she had tugged on his little bits of hair. He hadn't seem to mind too much, which was surprising, because he was usually an awfully behaved child. But now he just stared at Vivian, as if he could say, "What?"

Azurai collapsed against Moo, rubbing her eyes. "This baby cries, and he spits, and he whines and bites and everything!" she said, watching him as he stared with his famous scowl at Vivian. "Least he doesn't hate everyone though," she said, pointing at Vivian and grinning at Sketchy.

"Not here." Well,it wasn't lying.Kilah indeed wasn't there. It's where she was that Noyama seemed to be avoiding. She either didn't notice Mignon's tone or ignored it,likely the later. She absently wrinkled her nose back and paid listened to the other babies babbling.

Dia snickered one more time at the "Bug baby", subject was quickly distracted as the woman asked of Kilah. She had been wondering herself, so she quieted down and waited for a response. Hopefully, Kilah was doing better.

Mignon's mimick helped spark a smile on her fce though.

It took a moment for Cameo to reply, but she soon scrunched her face into another expression. "Marmpph!" She waved her hands to accent her message. This was getting fuuun.

Phantom still hadn't noticed what her child was entertaining herself with, but was still shaking a little from all the people. Still, the thought of a bug baby was funny . . .

Mignon frowned. If she had been older, she would have been pouting. Kilah was hiding! This displeased her. She tugged on Jeane's pant leg and handed up the feather. The woman tucked the feather into the Snugli, still looking worried.

Giving Noyama a stern look, she started to crawl her way towards the other babies, not knowing which one she should prod first. She decided on the blue haired one with funny things on his head. She crawled close enough to make herself known, and blew a rhaspberry at him. "Pllllt!"

"Hmm, well when you see Kilah, tell her that Dia has a little something for her", she said while winking. Obviously, she no idea about Noyama's attempt to avoid the obvious question.

Her roams over to the group of babies as she said,"Heh, I always wonder what babies talk about when they get together.. Probably plotting..". The last part she mumbled to herself with a grin.

Moo laughed, patting Rai's shoulder reassurringly. "Wow, he sounds...worse than Lyrus. That's rather terrifying. I though Lamb was bad.... He's a grump, and bites a lot, but at least he's quiet. At that, I'd like to see what happens when they get together... They'll either be best friends or sworn enemies, I'm sure." Pausing briefly, she chanced a glance at her watch and cringed, waving once around the group before staring back around the house, tucking Lyrus under one arm once more. "'D love to stay and chat, but I need to find Acia before dark. See ya 'round! Nice meeting you all!"

Lyrus was just about to counter Cameo's 'attack' when Moo abruptly shifted his position and started away. The Lamb baby let out a squeal of protest, silenced when Moo shoved a finger in his mouth, and set about trying to gnaw it off while waving in good-bye to Cameo.

Cameo cried, upset, as Lyrus was brought away by his protector. But seeing as how she couldn't escape her own protector's arms, she was forced to pout and wave good-bye as well. Phantom had waved a good-bye to Moo herself, but had not noticed Cameo's actions. Then she turned, blocking the child's view of the other baby.

March 7th, 2005

My turn again. Moo, that is. And lots to say, so I'll try and be brief.

Acia ran away. There was this incident at the Velvet shop and she got into an argument so this little fairy thing called her mean, and... Yeah, she sort of overreacted and ran off. This happened yesterday morning...

Since then I've been searching everywhere I could think of, stopping back home occasionally in case she might have come back. And yesterday afternoon when I dropped by, Lyrus wouldn't let me leave again. He'd start crying and screaming and...etc...so I took him searching with me.

We ssearched for a while, found nothing. Soon realized we were near that mansion where I'd gotten Lyrus and decided to drop in to see if anyone had seen Acia. Met up with... a bunch of people. Felt a bit awkward, they all seemed to know each other already. But then Rai showed up, so all was well. She had a little whatevertheyare too. Lex, aka, Ice cube. I'll have to arrange a playdate.

Anyway! Lyrus met a few kiddies, hard to say if he liked 'em or not. We didn't stay long, had to continue the search. Still haven't found 'Cia, and I'm about to head out again. Banda's watching Lyrus and the others. More as it develops. Toodles.

Took the boys to the park today. Jax, Adroi, Coen and Lyrus, that is. (I asked Acia if she wanted to come, but she''s holed herself up in her lab working on something and ''couldn''t be bothered'', to use her words. She''s back, you know.) Bundled everyone up against the cold and off we went! I even wrapped Coen in a scarf. He seemed thankful for it, and it didn''t hinder his flight too badly.

All in all, it was a nice day. It was warm enough out not to bother us, the sun was shining, etc, etc. The wind was pretty bad, but that wasn''t much trouble. No one was at the park when we arrived, but that was fine. Jax was really the only one who played anyway, unless you count Coen tagging behind him or Lyrus poking at bugs with a stick. (Adroi doesn''t much care for any cold whatsoever. He snuck inside my sweater and napped the whole time.)

Jax and Coen played for a while. Went down the slide countless times, bugged me until I pushed them on the swings, Jax holding Coen on his lap. At this point, Lyrus lost interest in his bugs and poked ME withthe stick until I swung him as well. Nifty little baby swing things. Very helpful. We kept that up for a while, then Jax and Coen went off to play in what little snow remained. Lyrus liked the swing too much to join them, and Adroi was still sleeping.

But, you know babies. Eventually they''ll all get tired and cranky, and aside from that Jax and Coen were all wet and muddy from playing with/in/near the snow. So we headed home, gave all the shorties baths and now they''re sleeping! And I think I will as well. ''Til later.

"Kilah! Not throw that at me!"

Her answer was a loud screech and the teddy bear being thrown at her again. That was the last time she let her play with THAT. Of course, being as she couldn't aim and the teddy was..well,a stuffed animal,it wouldn't really hurt any even if she does manage to hit her protector with it.She was happy to be in the grass again!

Since she'd return, the baby had been grumpy to the point where Noyama almost dared to ask Lucky to babysit...and she'd just gotten back! Beside the baby was the black egg with fire nicely painted around it. Kilah didn't want it out of her range still, and had one hand on it as she waved the bear she'd managed to locate again threateningly. "KIII Rrrd laaaa!"

Moo arrived on the scene as the bear was flying through the air and immediately paused in step, eyeing the shrieking infant cautiously. Once again she had Lyrus tucked under her arm, though this time he wasn't attempting to bite off her fingers; No, now the Lamb Sin'aeis was slowly tearing apart a wombat plushie, a new favorite pasttime he had learned from meetings his 'nephews' (who were, in fact, older than he).

However, as Kilah's 'words' reached him, the infant lost interest in the plush and dropped it on the ground, pointing over at Kilah. "Daaaaaaaaaahblephhht!"

With a sigh, Moo bent to retrieve the plush, the stepped as close as she dared and set Lyrus on the ground near Kilah. Maybe they would get along...? Almost immediately afterwards, she took a step back and dropped to the ground herself, flashing Noyama a smile. "Good to see you again. She's yours?"

Noyama was generally frustrated. She smiled in a friendly way and nodded.Maybe this other baby would cheer Kilah up some."Yes,Kilah is mine.Um..not get your name before."

The baby noticeablely tensed at the arrival of newcomers.New voices? She didn't recognize them.Maybe they were like those other people she'd been with! Hissing a little, she glared warningly at where she'd heard the voices coming from.

"Kilah,is okay." Noyama's reassurance seemed to be enough...for now.The hissing stopped, and immediatly the babys hand shot up.Left-handed Noyama had noticed recently."Kii!"

"I'm Moo," she replied cheerfully, not at all phased by the hissing. She got enough of that at home. "And this is Lyrus. You're....Noyama, I think? And she's Kilah, good." Whee, she had remembered who everyone was. So proud <3

Lyrus frowned thoughtfully when the hissing reached him, blinking suspiciously over at Kilah. Adroi hissed, he knew, and Adroi was good. Was this girl good? ...Only one way to find out. "Aaahhdbbapk," he demanded, making grabby movements at his plushie until it was handed over. The Lamb infant hugged his toy, then promptly chucked it with all his might at Kilah. Or in her general direction, anyway.

Noyama raised an eyebrow at the two babies.Kilah's methods of "playing" seemed to be becoming more violent.Shaking her head, she remembered to "let her do things on her own".She turned back to Mooful and nodded, seeming impressed.Indeed she was. She'd be thankful just to remember their names now! "Yes,is right.Nice to meet you,um,Moo."

Of course, not being able to see what the other baby was doing she was completely unaware of the plushie zooming at her.Suddenly the egg beside her shook back and forth, and Kilah turned her head toward it just in time to have the plushie zoom over her shoulder.

Then it hit her what HAD been happening, and immediatly she turned back to Lyrus, leering at her.It was odd considering her eyes were so cloudy like that, but she had a nice "RRD!" to go with it.

Lyrus' frown resumed when the plush missed its target. A perfectly good wombat lost for nothing! He would have to get it back. The boy pointed past her towards his plush, then turned his gaze back to Kilah, though his demand died before it was spoken at her strange stare. Unexpectedly, the boy burst into giggles, changing his point to Kilah and making a face at her. "Maaargaphhtesh!"

Oh,God.This wouldn't end well...

Kilah blinked, tilting her head. Was he..laughing at her? Oh,how DARE he laugh at her! She was thankful her stuffed bear was close. Hissing, she grabbed it by the leg and chucked it toward Lyrus, sticking her tounge out.

Lyrus was hit full in the face by the bear, and promptly fell over backwards. The infant stopped laughing and blinked up at the sky for a moment, then growled and scrambled back up, sitting scowling over at Kilah. But just as quickly, he was back to being happy. Lyrus giggled lightly and reached out, dragging the bear over and setting it on his lap. He then bit down on its ear and began the process of tearing the plushie to shreds. Oh, Zach and Dari had taught him well.

Even without sight,Kilah seemed well aware of what he was doing. She didn't care, she assured her stubbornly with various babbles and crossed her tiny arms. She didn't like that dumb "bear" anyway.

Still, this other baby was really aggravating! "KII!" The yell was demanding, and the way she held her hand up again was even more so. Her other one fidgeted at her side. Just incase she needed to slap him or something...

This was all highly amusing to Lyrus. First she acted like she didn't care, then she demanded the bear back? ...Oh, he'd give it back. With a bit of carefully placed gnawing and a few quick tugs, he managed to rip the bear's ear off completely. When it fell to the grass, the infant patted it thoughtfully for a moment, then picked it up and chucked it at Kilah before turning his focus to the other ear.

Moo had fallen asleep on the grass, or she probably would have stopped him. Probably.

This time, though,Kilah was listening. She smacked the bear away when it came zooming back at her and held her hand out again, hissing. "NO!" What was WRONG with this person!? She wanted his hand not that stupid bear he'd mangled! She seemed to ponder the thought of him being stupid in that little mind of hers. So she took her other hand and pointed at the one she was holding out. "Rrrd kii aaa!"

Noyama was awake, but content with just watching.Lucky had felt very strongly about letting Kilah make her own friends (and enemies) even so young.

Righto, now Lyrus was confused. She didn't want the bear? But she did want his hand? His hand? Lyrus was a bit iffy about giving his hand to anyone. He bit hands. Did she bite hands? ....He could always bite back if she did.

For a moment the boy simply stared, but then he knocked the bear off his lap and scooched towards Kilah, holding out one hand once he was close enough. "Daaabllupf."

Kilah seemed less annoyed when he finally gave his hand to her. She didn't want to bite anyone. Not like she had any teeth, anyway. Growing quiet she ran her fingers along his hand, being particular about examine the space between his fingers.

Good. He didn't have creepy hands like that Flitch baby had. She was happy he didn't act like him, either, that just got on her nerves. When she lowered her hand, she set it beside her and gave an approving babble.

He was fine by her.

"I hope this is the right place." The man said, looking annoyed. Mignon was held in his arms, and she burbled angrily. He sighed. "Quit your sass." He scolded.

Mignon glared at her uncle, before she spotted the babies. She didn't know the one, but the other!

"Lala!" She whispered, hands clapping. "Lalalala!" She howled, reaching for her. Bob rolled his eyebrows and plopped the baby down.

Lyrus watched silently, both confused and curious, while she examined his hand, blinking up at her when she finally let it go. She seemed in a much better mood now, which only confused him further. With another confused blink, the Lamb baby turned dark eyes back to his own hand, absently inspecting it with his free hand as she had just done. It was only a hand.

Finally he looked back up and gurgled a cheerful reply, patting her hand with his (which he had decided was perfectly normal and she was just strange), then scooching back towards the bear. Once he reached it, he grabbed hold and dragged it back over to Kilah, setting it back on her lap with a proud 'Dahb!'.

Kilah smiled brightly, pleased now. When the bear was set her lap she brushed her hands along it,and her nose wrinkled back in disgust. What was the point of ripping it apart? Not that she cared. Aside from the egg beside her, anything that "belonged" to Kilah could be ripped, burned, tossed over a bridge. She didn't care much. "Aaa?"

Hearing Mignon's voice, not only her head shot, but Noyama's did also. Both turned in the direction of the baby.Noyama raised an eyebrow. That wasn't Jeane.

The babys reaction was different. She was going crazy! Squealing and waving her hands wildly around. Mignon was okay too! "AAA KII RRRD KIIII AAAAAA!"

Glomp! As soon as Mignon reached Kilah, she threw her arms around her and hugged her as hard as she could manage. "Lala wwwnnn wa!"

"Wow." Bob said, looking surprised. "Didn't know the little ball of anger had it in her." He smiled at Noyama. "So, are you Noyama?"

Oh yes, Lyrus was very proud of himself. He had made another new friend! Who wasn't one of his brothers! Sure, he had ripped an ear off her bear, but she didn't seem too upset by that. Besides, he was sure someone could fix it.

The boy was about to pursue another 'conversation' when Kilah began shrieking at someone he couldn't see. Blinking, he looked around just in time to see Mignon tackleglomp his new friend. Again Lyrus blinked, then frowned and poked Mignon. "Tehnapt."

Noyama by now was on her feet, and being adressed she stepped back somewhat, ears lowering hesitantly. Lately, she'd began to experience what it was like to be "paranoid". Her trust in people she hadn't seen before didn't seem to be there anymore... "Y-yes,Noyama is Noyama."

The baby seemed startled at the sudden hug.She didn't mind having the wind knocked out of her,and when Mignon hand let go she clapped her hands and smiled brightly.Raising a hand, she pointed to Lyrus. "Sss!"

"Oh! Sorry." Bob rubbed the back of his head and laughed. "You don't know me. I'm Jeane's older brother, Bob. She was feeling a bit... ill. So I got kid duty today."

"Sss?" She blinked and poked Lyrus back. "Ngny." She poked herself proudly. She looked at him for a moment, before reaching up and poking his horn.

"Sssssngny?" Lyrus repeated curiously, blinking. And then it clicked, and he nodded. "Ngny!" However, he abruptly fell silent with the poke at his horn. The baby whined and cringed away, setting a hand protectively over his horn and glaring at the two girls. His shiny, not theirs.

Moo was...still sleeping, curled up on the grass and looking altogether at peace. She hadn't had a full night's sleep in a while. Every night a different baby... Gah. Naps were good.

"Ill...?" Noyama barely managed to choke the word out. Oh,God! She'd killed her sister! She'd killed Jeane! Jeane was going to die! She knew what the word meant without question, but didn't think to ask how "serious" said illness was. If she caught it at her island it could be HORRIBLE. They had some nasty sicknesses there. Wide-eyed,she stared at the ground, biting her lower lip.

She knew taking Jeane on that trip had been a bad idea!

Kilah was pleased to find two of them got along. She liked Lyrus, but if Mignon didn't...She giggled and clapped her hands again, then stopped as she heard Lyrus whine. What was wrong with him? "Aaa?"

"Woah!" Bob held up his hands and smiled. "Don't worry. It's nothing serious. She's just..." And he paused, looking a bit sour. "..Got the flu. Ruined my shoes. She gets the flu all the time. She's hardier than you'd think."

Mignon pulled her hand back. Okay. He didn't like the horn touched. Now, to look at his ears. She tilted her head to one side and peered at them. Hmm. They were different! Pointy. She reached out and poked on. Yup. It was an ear, not another horn.

Lyrus gradually relaxed once he was sure she would leave the horn alone. It was his one bit of wonderful shiny colorfulness, and he didn't want anyone touching it ever! However, he didn't mind having his ear poked. It was a bit odd, but he'd really expected something like that. Kilah had inspected his hand, it only seemed right that her friend would inspect something to. So Lyrus merely tilted his head, watching Mignon curiously out of the corner of his eye. Girls were strange.

Noyama's gaze on the ground soften, but she didn't dare look up.She was such bad luck.Everything seemed to hit her all at once.Jeane could've died. She could've died.So many bad things could've happened! "I see..." She didn't know what "hardier" meant, and suprisingly didn't ask.

The baby reached a hand out and waved it around until she managed to locate one of Mignon's. When she did,she latched hers onto it and with her other pointed toward the interesting egg. Whatever it was, this had kept her company while she was away. She wanted her new friend to like Mignon too. "Aaa! Miggg!"

Mignon reached out and patted the egg. It was very pretty, and she made appropriate coos of delight. "Ni ggy!" She cooed.

"I bet she did all kinds of dumb stuff." He laughed slightly. "She's allways been so gung-ho, even since we were kids. She's a good kid, though."

The protector shook her head and had to resist the urge to glare at that first part. This person was her blood brother,so he certainly knew her better.Still, her tone was still somewhat sad but there was unmistakeablely something along the lines of determination in there, too. "Sister Jeane did nothing dumb. She very smart and say smart things to people who very bad."

The egg suddenly warmed up.Kilah was so pleased! Clapping her hands, she stuck her tounge out and made the noise Mignon had taught her. Her guardian and her first friend liked each other!

"She was allways good at talking her way out of situations." Bob started to say more, but cut himself off. "Mark my words, in a week she's be back to her usual self. Climbing trees and getting stuck, running into walls when she's not paying attetion, falling into the washing machine and getting her head stuck."

"Yaaat ggy?" She asked when the egg grew warmer.

((Eck, I haveta go for a bit e.< Just say Moo woke up and they rushed off or summat. See ya later <3))

March 12th, 2005

Took Lyrus back to the mansion again this afternoon. There were far fewer people this time, so I wasn't in over my head again, thank goodness. Actually, I wasn't part of the conversation for very long, anyway. It was a beautiful day, and I haven't been getting much sleep lately, and... Well, I sort of dozed off. But Noyama didn't seem to mind, so I suppose it was alright.

Oh, as I've mentioned, Noyama was there, and this time she had her baby with her. The girl's name is Akilah, but I didn't catch what element she is, so you'll have to wait for that. She and Lyrus played for a bit. I can't tell you much of what happened, I was sleeping. But when I woke up, they seemed to be getting along well. They were playing with another baby named Mignon. (I recognized her from the other day. But her guardian wasn't there. Some man brought her today. I never caught who he was.)

All three seemed to get along well. I'm not sure if that's because they're as...er.... Lyrus as Lyrus, or if they had just managed to cheer him up. I saw a bear with a missing ear before I left, so I'm thinking the later. Erg, that bear, too... Lyrus has torn up any plushie he can get his hands on. Except for his wombat. Though he did rip a leg off that, but he whined and hit me with it until I sewed it back on. I'm going to have to talk to Jack abou those twins of his. Cute but deadly... Don't want Lyrus to keep destroying things.

Meh, I miss Jack. And Isto. Sure, one's engaged and the other's married, but they could still come visit more often. Isto hasn't even seen banda's fifth stage that I know of. Maybe that'd lure him over.

But back to the subject. Speaking of babysitters, Banda's gonna watch the boys for me for the next week or so. I'm off on business with Acia, of all creatures, and he's agreed to hold down the house until I get back. I think he can do it, as long as he doesn't get fixed on some other art project of his. Banda's good like that.

And now I must go finish packing. Plane leaves at dawn, so no time to spare tomorrow. See ya in a week or so!

March 15th, 2005

Banda here again! Moo's still gone and I've been watching everyone. It's really not that hard. I've managed to talk Kama and Scion into helping, so they watch the guys while I cook and clean and such. The house is spotless! Save for the garage, Acia's lab (it's locked), and my studio (too much paint). I'm not even going to try and clean the garage. Too much junk, and most of it's Isto's. I'll have to get him over here to clean it.

But this is Lyrus' log, so back to him. Really don't have much to say. He's grown tired of finger painting. We've spent most of the past few days outside. The weather's been wonderful, and we've all been cooped up all winter, AND I can finally hear birdsong again! Ah... Now I want to paint. Where was I?

We've been spending a lot of time outside, down by the lake. Had my hands full watching four babies by water, I can tell you. Kama helped a bit, though, so it wasn't too difficult. Besides, Jax is the only one that can walk. Coen flies, so he's not at much risk, and Lyrus and Adroi just sort of squirm around.

Hm. I'm rambling again. My apologies.

So, Lyrus, Lyrus, Lyrus... Not much to say about Lyrus. He amused himself by throwing his wombat plushie into the lake and sending Kama to rescue it. Kinda bugged Kama...a lot. Especially 'cause the water was really cold. But, it kept the babies entertained, so whatever works.

Moo left directions to the mansion, so mayhaps I'll bring Lyrus by later. Gives us both something to do, and Lord knows we need it. Kama and Scion could watch the others for a bit... Lyrus is the worst behaved anyway. That's what we'll do. But not today. I have to go make dinner. Sometime before Moo comes home, though. Buh-bye!

Moo was still off on her trip, and Banda was still in over his head trying to take care of everyone in the house. So he'd taken the day off and made Kama do it! Kama had only had one condition... He refused to watch Lyrus as well. Quite understandable in Banda's eyes, but now he was tuck with the shortie. And where better to go with a shortie than wherever the shortie came from?

So now Banda was at the mansion, lounging in the backyard. More specifically, he was stretched out on his back in the grass, staring up at the sky and humming loudly to himself. Lyrus sat on the grass beside him, poking at his temporary guardian with a stick, only to start gnawing on it when Banda didn't even flinch. Stupid SMs.

"Kilah! Kilah!" The name suddenly echoed around them, repeated over and over. The tone wasn't worried but frustrated. It seemed rather as if the voice was trying to grasp the attention of someone. And indeed that was the case.

As she wandered down the road toward the "estate" as she'd heard it been called, the baby struggled in her arms. Her being Noyama. The baby,of course, being Akilah. The chicken Sin'aeis flailed her arms around, making grasping motions at the grounds.

"Will put you down when there, stop squirmng!"

If Banda failed to notice the arrival of the others, Lyrus certainly didn't. The Lamb Sin'aeis looked up to watch them approach, letting the stick fall from his mouth. As soon as he recognized Kilah, he set up a babbled greeting, waving frantically with one hand and tugging at Banda's shirt with the other.

The SkullMonkey reluctantly tore his eyes from the sky to see what was bothering Lyrus, a warm smile spreading across his face when he realize some other caretaker had arrived. "Hallo! I'm Banda, who're you? And I think Lyrus already knows you from how he's acting, yes?"

When Noyama didn't give into her demands,Kilah's hand located a clump of purple hair and gave it a good tug. "Aaaa!" Her eyes moved in Lyrus's direction as she heard his babbling, and gave one of her one. "Kiii aaa!"

The protector sighed and moved her poor hair back into place before she set Kilah down beside the other baby. "Yes,is right."

Ohh, that was amusing. Lyrus giggled, clapping his hands in approval when Kilah yanked Noyama around by her hair. He glanced thoughtfully towards Banda's head, but the SM's hair, long as it was, was still out of his reach. Maybe later, then. Returning his eyes to Kilah, he waved both hands in the air. "Taaaa kiiiii!"

Banda was beginning to think Lyrus couldn't be as bad as he had first imagined. After all, the kid had made a friend, right? ...But then Noyama got her hair pulled, and Banda decided that babies were just naturally evil and all their babblings was plots for world domination. However, despite this thought, he kept a smile on his face, cocking his head up at Noyama. "Well, he knows you, but I don't. Who're you?"

Kilah's behavoir seemed to have little effect on Noyama. After all,she didn't USUALLY act that way. Well, most of the time...sort of. "Name is Noyama. Not know you either.Where is Moo?"

Kilah seemed pleased her friend had given her such approval, and after his giggling stop she instictively held one hand out.She didn't know his voice well enough yet it seemed.Unfortuneatly, she had no stuffed bears with her today.

"Pleasure to meet you," he replied cheerfully, sitting up and brushing grass out of his hair. "Moo is out of town on a trip with Acia. She'll be back within the next few days, I think, but until then I'm watching Lyrus and the others for her."

Lyrus hadn't quite realized Kilah couldn't see, but knew what the offered hand meant. Babbling cheerfully in what was probably a retelling of his latest escapades, the lamb baby held his hand out and patted hers. "Kiiiiii? Sssss!"

Oooh,a new sound! Just patting her hand was enough, and Kilah withdrew it as she listened to the sounds he was making. She tried to copy the "ssss" sound, but it came out as a "plllt" and ended up with her sticking her tounge out. "Rrrrd kii."

Noyama offered an understanding nod, though she seemed somewhat dissapointed Moo would be gone for a while. It faded quick enough, though, and always the social butterfly she seemed to see no problem with sitting down next to him. "Oh,well,Lyrus like you?"

Hahaaaa, she couldn't do it! Just because he could, Lyrus repeated ths 'Sssssss', then giggled and clapped his hands, just to show that he was joking.

As if reading her thoughts, he smiled and repeated, "She'll be back within the next few days, I think. She just went on a little business trip with Acia. Something about a plane..." He shrugged, then nodded, glancing curiously towards the babies. "I think so! I hope so, anyway. He likes me more than Moo, from what I can tell. He doesn't bite me."

Kilah unfortuneatly didn't seem to understand the last part. Not only could she not make that noise,he was LAUGHING at her AGAIN! And,now that she thought about it,she couldn't say much compared to all the babies she knew thus far. It was hard to copy sounds when you couldn't see the person making them. Pouting, she turned in the other direction and crawled away from Lyrus.

What the hell was a plane? Oh,no matter. "That..is good." Doesn't bite? Sheesh, she was glad Kilah had never bitten anyone. Then again, she hadn't pulled hair either until recently.

Lyrus abruptly fell silent when she turned away, blinking surprise and watching her go. Why was she leaving!? He hadn't done anything wrong! It had only been a joke! He whined, stretching out his hands after her. "Kiiiii!"

"It is good!" he replied cheerfully. Banda was enjoying this conversation, even if this woman seemed rather confused. But that was alright. He didn't get out often, and rarely had the chance to have a conversation where he could actually HEAR. Thank goodness for these headphones.

Kilah either hadn't heard him or ignored him. Considering she had understandablely good hearing, likely the later. Whatever the case she found a nice flower-filled spot and placed herself there. Stretching out hand out,she pulled the poor flower from the ground and carelessly began ripping it apart.

Laugh at her. Hmph. Stupid flower. Hmph.

Briefly the fox girl seemed taken a back. It didn't seem THAT good. He shouldn't be biting people to begin with...right? Tilting her head, she nodded hesitantly and uncertainly smiled. "You are brother of Moo?"

Lyrus didn't like being ignored. Especially when he was trying to apologize. The lamb baby stared after he for a bit, silent save for the occasional whine, then promptly burst into tears. However, Lyrus wasn't one for loud noises, so without thought he stuffed a hand in his mouth, chewing relentlessly on it while tears poured down his face. He didn't want Kilah to be mad at him!

"Oh, nonono." He cheerfully shook his head, failing to notice the strange look she gave him. "She adopted me a while back. I'm -technically- her oldest, er, son, but Jack and Isto were at the house first, so they claim to be older. So, I suppose that makes me Lyrus' 'brother' of sorts."

Kilah's blinked and turned back to Lyrus, tilting her head as if to help her hear better. Was he..crying? First he laughs at her then cries!? Ugh. With a tiny sigh from her tiny mouth, she abandoned the task of murdering each and every flower (for now) and crawled back to where she had been, stopping a bit closer to Lyrus. "Aaa.Aaa?" She seemed to be trying to comfort him in some odd way.

"Oh,you are brother of Lyrus.Alright then." There was no uncertainy there. If he said he was his brother he was his brother, and to Noyama no "bloodline" would say otherwise.

Yes he most certainly was! Even her return did nothing to comfort him, 'cause he knew she was still mad. Which normally wouldn't have bothered him, but did now for some reason. He made his siblings mad alllllll the time, and then he got to laugh at them when they couldn't do anything about it. But Kilah was mad, and she was his friend, so this was different. When she returned, he just bit down harder on his hand and looked away, cries muffeled by the hand in his mouth.

"Pretty much." With a final nod, he glanced over to Lyrus, who had his back turned to him. He could have sworn he heard a cry...but Lyrus seemed happy enough. Perhaps his earphones were just faulty. But he wouldn't complain. He was lucky to be hearing at all.

Oh,great. Kilah frowned as she watched him turn in the other direction. She wasn't so much as bad as she was frustrated now. He was going to hurt his hand if he kept that up. After thinking for a moment, she lifted her arm and winced as she pulled one of the feathers out. It was one of her pretty ones, even! Not one of the old ones that had fell out on it's own. "Aa!" She babbled, holding the offering out to him.

Almost on que, curiousty hit Noyama like a brick. Well, maybe not a brick, but whatever the case she finally took notice of those headphones. Without thinking,or remembering such was rude, she lifted a hand and pointed to them with,"What those?"

Lyrus was doing his best to look sulky and dejected when the proffered feather caught his eye. The boy blinked and looked up, staring curious at it for a moment, then looked away from it to turn up to Kilah, reaching out with his free hand and carefully accepting the gift. Letting his hand fall from his mouth, he wiped it off and raised it to pet the feather with one finger. He had never gotten a present before! The boy's face split into a smile, eyes remaining fixed on the feather. "Kiiiii taaa! Taaaa!"

Banda cocked his ehad curious at the woman, trying to figure out what on earth she was pointing at. Then he remembered that his headphones would be rather conspicous and grinned, slipping them off and holding them out for her inspection. "Headphones, of'a sort. Moo an' Acia made them especially for me. Completely deaf without them, so it's a real treat. Just got them a couple weeks back."

Kilah smiled too, clapping her hands together. "Kiii!" It was then she decided her dear friend Lyrus was just odd. Couldn't make up his mind if was happy and laughing or sad and crying, but that was fine. Maybe she could start visiting him instead of Flitch.

Noyama's ears lowered as he held the object out. It looked funny, and she wasn't exactly comfortable with something unfamiliar so close. But this brother of Lyrus seemed to like them, and so she probably should too. But hearing him say such things made her more curious. "Deaf?"

Lyrus probably was odd, but right then he wasn't thinking about that. He was thinking about how amazingly wonderful the feather was, and trying to think of something he could give Kilah in return. He didn't have anything amazingly wonderful like that! He was gray and...gray. ...Except for his horn!! But he had a feeling that wouldn't come off. He left off petting the feather and reached up to give his horn an experimental tug, babbling absently to himself in babytalk while he did so.

"I can't head without them," he explained, having read her lips. He did have that ability, though sometimes people talked very fast, or he would miss a word here or there... So having the headphones and being able to hear, limited as it was, was much better. When he realized she wasn't going to take them, he began inspecting the headphones for whatever might be wrong with them. He didn't want them to break and him never get to hear again! "There was an accident when I was real little, before Moo adopted me. Haven't been able to hear since."

Kilah listened intently as her friend babbled about something. She wandered what he was doing, but the thought fled as she ran her hand along the ground and located a pathetic little flower. Well, enjoy your last moments of life, little flower.

Noyama had never been one to pity a blind man,but she couldn't help but frown hearing him speak. She'd never treated Kilah any different because of her "condition",and she certainly wouldn't look down on him any either because of his. Still,though... "Oh..am very sorry."

Hmm, his horn didn't want to budge. Lyrus tugged on it for a bit longer, nearly fell on his face, then gave up and pouted. Kilah had given him a wonderful feather, and he didn't have anything to give her in return...He would have to find something for next time. Maybe that big one with the mohawk had something he could steal. He wasn't around much anyway.

Out of the corner of his eye, Banda noticed the movement of her lips and glanced up just in time to catch the jist of what was said. Smiling, he shook his head and slipped the headphones back on, shrugging. "Nah, it's perfectly fine. I'm used to it by now, and I'm not completely deaf anymore because of these headphones. So as long as I keep them with me, 'm as good as new!"

Kilah continued to listen for any sign of just what Lyrus was up to. She found silence from him unusual, and raised a hand, waving it around to confirm he was still there. It was times like this she hated the fact it was always dark for her,and with her other hand she ripped the flower apart that much more.

Well, that was good. Noyama liked this person, and honestly hoped even when Moo was back he'd keep coming back, too. Maybe he could teach Kilah to deal with her differences in ways that didn't involve murdering plants. "Kilah blind." As she said this, she nodded toward the baby.

Lyrus automatically stretched out his free hand to grab hers when she started waving it around, reassuring her that he hadn't left. He was just thinking. What could he possibly give Kilah? Hmm... He kept a tight grip on his feather with his left hand, and his right soon released Kilah's hand to start searching through the grass. Maybe he could find something there..? "Gaaahblurphoo!"

"Really now?" Banda asked, eyes brightening somewhat as he glanced towards the baby girl. His smile softened, head tilting to the side to watch her curiously. "Poor thing... But she seems to do well despite that, yes? Has she always been blind?"

"Aaakiii." For once she seemed to be putting the two together, possible saying the first part of her name. It was somewhat odd since the "A" rarely got added on. Her nose wrinkled back as she stared thoughtfully at the ground.

Pausing a moment,Noyama shrugged. HAD she? She didn't know. Chaco had to tell her she was blind to begin with. She'd just guess and assume so. "Think so.Kilah does very good.Do things just like other babies." It was true, and Noyama was quite proud of it.

Lyrus seemed to realize what she was doing and decided to try it himself. He continued to search through the grass for anything he could give her, absently mumbling to himself. "Leeeeeeeeer! Ssss.."

He nodded in understanding, watching Akilah for a bit longer before turning back to Noyama with a smile. "Well that's good, anyway. At least it doesn't bother her too badly. And if she's never been able to see, she won't have memories of it... Memories are hard. Really annoying when you vaguely remember hearing something, but can never hear it again. I'd think the same goes for sight."

Argh. She was getting frustrated again. She wanted to make the "sss" noise but couldn't. If only she could see how he was doing it! Whining loudly, she lifted a hand in the air, waving it around. Almost immediatly in response to the whine the familiar Griffon known only as Gizmo hurried over to them, sitting beside Kilah. Grunting, she pointed at Lyrus, expecting her "guardian" to read her mind obviously. "Rrd!"

Well, she hadn't thought about that. Nodding,Noyama scratched one of her fox-like ears and watched the babies (and now Gizmo). "Yes,is true.Very strong, you are. Will come back with Moo?"

Oh, he'd forgotten she couldn't make that noise. He frowned, patting his lips thoughtfully with his free hand and babbling absently to himself. And then he froze, blinking. His lips moved when he talked! He was just about to convey his discovery when the griffon arrived and distracted him. He blinked curiously at the strange bird thing, then snapped back to reality and scooched over to Kilah, reaching for her hand and pressing it to his mouth. "Leeeer! Ssssss! Taaa?"

Banda briefly let the conversation drop with the arrival of the little griffon, wondering if it were perhaps the same sort of thing as Aeo. But then he snapped back to reality and returned his eyes to Noyama, positively beaming at the praise. "Thank you! And I probably will, yes. If not with her, then with Lyrus. I watch him a lot at home for Moo, so I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I bring him by occasionally."

Gizmo's feathers raised defensively as the other baby drew closer, but Noyama gave him "the look" and he settled down. He was just a baby himself afterall, and needed to be taught like one. Kilah didn't seem to understand, but caught on soon enough. She listened carefully, nose still wrinkled back in that thoughtful way. "Sssss taaa."

"Is good." Noyama was still watching the three as she spoke, seeming interested in Lyrus's idea. Why hadn't SHE thought of that? No wonder Kilah wasn't learning any new words.

Lyrus pulled away when she 'spoke' correctly, beaming proudly and clapping his hands in approval. She had done it! Now she couldn't be mad at him, 'cause she could make the sound too! "Taaaaaa Kiii!"

Nodding, Banda followed her gaze back to the three, raising an eyebrow in surprise when Lyrus 'taught' Akilah to speak. "Clever little thing. I wouldn't have thought of that, I think. Actually, I probably could've used something like that a while back. Used to talk funny. Hard to pronounced words right when you can't hear them."

Indeed Kilah was a happy baby now. So much so she completely forgot about the flower she was on the verge of shredding. Dropping it,she giggled and clapped her hands together too. "Ssss taaa kiii!" She'd be glad to give him a hundred feathers for that! Sadly, she didn't have near that many yet.

Noyama had to laugh at this. It wasn't his words that were funny, but the fact he was speaking much better then her now when she'd always been able to hear tickled her a little. "Friend Banda talk well.Noyama bad English."

His applauding faded to a stop as the flower fell from her hand, eyes following it curiously. Why had she dropped it? Holding his feather firmly in one hand, he picked up the flower in the other, holding it out towards Kilah. "Sssssskii?"

Banda blinked, then laughed, shaking his head. "No, no, you're very good. At least you pronounce things right, yes? See, that was my problem. I could say sentances correctly and all, but I'd slur and mangle my words. Now I don't do that anymore!" He smiled.

Jeane spotted the two babies and adults, and skipped over. Mignon promptly started squealing when she saw them.

"Ssss! Lala!" She called, waving at them. "Gggooon!" She glared at Jeane untill the girl plopped her down. From there, she happily crawled over and patted first Lyrus, then Kilah on their hands.

"Ssss!" Kilah repeated happily. It took her a few more seconds to realize he was holding something out to her. She happened to knock one of her hands into his as she went to clap again. Pausing, she tilted her head again. Slowly her head reached out to take the flower back. Ahh,that's right! She'd had the pretty, pretty flower.

...which she carelessly began ripping apart. Of course, she did so quite happily. She could make the "sss" noise now, which was good, but it didn't come near her hate for these stupid flowers.

Noyama chuckled and nodded in confirmation. "Ahh,am from somewhere else.Far away. Not speak English there."

Well he hadn't expected her to do that! ....But at the same time, he approved. He didn't much care for flowers either. The baby snickered faintly as he watched her destroy the flower, then glanced up when he heard Mignon's call, waving in greeting. "Taaaa ngyy!"

"Ahh, I see...." Banda nodded, tilting his head curiously at her. "Must be a big change... Do you like it here?" He looked up with Jeane's arrival and smiled a greeting, holding out a hand. "Hallo! I'm Banda, and--" He paused, raising his free hand to his headphones and listening intently. Abruptly he jumped to his feet, throwing a half bow to both women. "It was nice meeting you, but I have to go. See you when I see you!"

With that said, he turned and walked off, scooping up Lyrus as he passed. Lyrus protested briefly, then whined and squirmed until he was peering back over Banda's shoulder, waving the hand that still held the feather at his two friends. "Taaa!!!"

Mignon waved at Lyrus as he was taken away. "Baaa Ssss!" She called.

"Kii!" Kilah called happily, waving toward Mignon's voice. She couldn't see him go,but hearing his voice become more and more distance was enough. She pouted upon Lyrus's depature, and ripped the flower apart extra as punishment for it.When she was done, she focused on Mignon and all was well."Kii! Ssss taaaa!"

"Waaark!" Gizmo squawked as he stumbled back. This caused Kilah to giggle, and she pressed her ear against the hard shell of the green egg. Noyama sat a few feet away under the shade of one of the trees surrounding the estate. Gizmo liked it outside, and Kilah liked what Gizmo like.

"Shhhh!" The toddler hushed him, then lifted her head and chuckled as she patted the egg with one hand. "It moved again!" The trio was located in the garden, the chicken Sin'aeis favorite place. An endless supply of flowers to rip was heaven, and now that she could walk they were much easier to find.

((Sorry, got distracted....And, had already half written this, so just pretend he didn't mention Jeane >.>; ))

Shortly after Jeane arrived, Banda walked in as well, sauntering into the garden with Lyrus tucked under one arm and a purple nautilus under the other. At the sight of the group, he altered his direction and walked over, cheerfully setting both Lyrus and the octopus thing on the ground before turning back to Jeane and Noyama. "Hallo! Good to see you again."

Lyrus protested briefly to the change of position, glaring up at his temporary guardian. He liked 'flying' better! Stupid ground. Stupid grass. The baby growled and pulled a tuft of grass from the ground, just because he could, and in the process of throwing it away, he caught sight of Kilah. Lyrus blinked, cocking his head to the side. Why did she look different? ...or was it even Kilah? "Kiii?"

"Is nice see you again." Noyama greeted with a warm smile. It was nice to be with someone who'd actually talk to her. Kilah had refused to do so since her overdue fist fight with Aard. "How are you?"

When the first voice reached her ears, the toddler chose to do nothing more then ignore it. With the second, however, she quickly turned toward it. "Lyrus?" Her speech had greatly improved thanks to one of Noyama's cousins.

Ahh, so good to be out of the house and see a friend! Banda wished Moo would hurry and come back. Then he could get out and see people again. ...Not that he had very many people to visit, but that wasn't the point. "Doing very well, thanks. Bit behind on my painting, but I can catch that up easily enough. How're you?"

It was Kilah!! But she was so big now! And had hair! ....Why wasn't Lyrus big with hair!? The Lamb baby brushed that aside and stretched a hand towards Kilah, waving just his hand and babbling excitedly to his friend. "Kiii! Zii baaa, Kii! Zii!!" He pointed proudly towards the nautilus. It blinked.

"You will bring sometime? Painting? Show Noyama?" Hearing his question, she frowned, and those ears that never failed to show her feelings lowered against her head. How to say this? Well,I'm doing horrible because my "daughter" won't talk to me since I yelled at her for getting in a fist fight as a toddler? Her ears lifted, and she smiled be it forced or not, nodding her head. "Am fine."

Gizmo watched as Kilah moved closer to Lyrus, taking his hands and smiling up at him. "It's so good to see you again!" Aside from Mignon,Lyrus was her best friend thus far. She was dissapointed he hadn't grown like they had, though. "You're still little!"

"I will bring one," Banda promised with a smile. However, his smile faltered slightly with her reply. After months of not being able to hear, Banda has become adept at reading expressions and, specifically, lips. It was easy for him to tell the smile was false. "Hey, um...I can understand if you don't want to tell me, 'cause we don't know each other all that well, but if you need to talk, I'm here to listen. I can do that now." He grinned faintly, tapping his headphones with a finger.

Lyrus positively beamed, shaking her hand lightly with his. His smile faded slightly at her obvious dissappointment over...him being small, was it? Well, it wasn't his fault! And...and she had gotten big, so he would too. With his free hand, Lyrus patted hers reassuringly, cooing a reply promising he would get big as soon as he could. But then he noticed her hair again and stetched his free hand up to it, absently running his fingers through it, eyes widening. "Taaa, Kii! Baaruthpht."

"Uh..." For a moment she just stared at him. No one had been able to tell the difference before,so it was a bit suprising. When she finally blinked, she lifted both arms and waved her arms, shaking her head at the same time. Oh,he thought she didn't trust him? "No,no! Is not that! Just..." Well, might as well tell someone. "Kilah fight. So young, but still fight..."

Chuckling, she lowered her head a bit and wrinkled her nose back. "You like it? Mignon has some too now. But her's is...uh...blonde or something." She wasn't sure how much (if any) he understood, but she didn't seem care much either. Raising one arm,she revealed the now brown feathers that ran along it. "See? They changed colors!" Well, she'd been told they had, anyway. Went from "white" to "brown" is what Noyama had said,if she remembered right.

"Ahh..." Trailing off, he nodded slightly, glancing to the toddler in question. "Hmm...Well, maybe it's just a phase? Sometimes kids are just like that, I think. Lyrus still won't let Moo anywhere near him without trying to bite her hand off. Not that she's back yet." Banda grimaced.

"Pe'iy," Lyrus assured her, patting her hair once more before following her movement to the feathers. He blinked, then pointed at the feathers and grinned, looking up at Kilah. "Kii gaa sssss!"

"Uh..yes." Phase? What was that? She decided not to ask for fear of looking like a bigger moron. Without a doubt she'd made herself look stupid infront of him at least once. Hell, she did with everyone. This place still confused her. Nothing like where she was from. "Moo not returned? You watch Lyrus alone?" Jeesh. She couldn't imagine how much worse Kilah would be if it wasn't for all the help she had...

She couldn't see the grin, but she recognized the tone enough. "When these start falling out,I'll give you one first, okay? They hurt to much to pull out like the old ones." Apparently they'd fall out before she "grew" or something. "When you grow, you have to come see me! We can play hide and seek. I played it with Aard. Do you know Aard? He's a stupid head."

"They're having trouble getting the plane fixed up. Missing some important parts or something." Banda shrugged. he had never been much of a mechanic. That was always Isto. And Moo and Acia, of course. He smiled. "Ah, Lyrus likes me. Most of the time, anyway. So it's not too much trouble. I make Kama watch Jax and Coen, and Adroi kinda hangs with Lyrus, but he's really well behaved." Oh yes, Banda was used to a huge family.

Nodding in understanding, Lyrus carefully patted her feathers, extra lightly so he wouldn't accidently pull one out and hurt her. The infant suddenly tensed, head snapping up to stare at Kilah. He gasped. She had said a bad word!!! Oooo, this was rich. He glanced carefully to Banda, then giggled and leaned over, mumbling. "Thoop! Dee ded."

Noyama herself had many blood relatives,but...that didn't help her understand just who he was talking about. With every name she'd nod her head once and continue listening until he was done. "Oh...what's a plane?"

The toddler nodded her head. It was impossible to tell if she'd really understood that, but even if she didn't she certainly acted like it. Chuckling, she mentioned in the direction of Noyama's voice, whispering to him,"She stupid too."

"Planes are..." Banda blinked, frowning faintly. How to explain a plane? He had always just taken them for granted. A plane was a plane, and Moo had a little one. Instead of a car. ....meh, that would have to work. "A plane is sort of like a care, but it has...erm....wings and flys! But not like a bird. Planes don't flap their wings. They..er....glide."

Lyrus followed her point to Noyama, blinking curiously at the woman, then nodded and pointed towards Banda. He glanced cautiously around, then whispered, "Ba'aa, thoop ded!"

"Car...?" What was that? Some other type of plane? Oooh, this place got so confusing sometimes. She quieted down and listened to the rest of his words, raising an eyebrow. Thinking hard, she pointed at Kilah, who had always had wings. "Kilah have wings. Kilah not fly. Why plane fly then?" Too curious for her own good, but she still knew so little about this place...

"Yes,stupid head!" Kilah cheered, but quietly enough Noyama wouldn't hear as she praised him by clapping her hands together. Hair got annoying, she thought, brushing it out of her face for the countless time. "When you get big,I'll give you one of my big feathers."

"A car is... my, this is going to get confusing." Banda sighed, tapping his chin throughtfully. "Well, let's see. Cars and planes are machines. Cars roll on the ground and planes fly in the air. Planes are designed so that engines...umm..." Eck, would she know the term 'engine'? "Well, they're made specifically to fly. Kilah's a little girl. Most little girls don't fly, I think."

Lyrus grinned smugly at the praise, and stuck his tongue out towards Banda, just as a final insult. Turning back to Kilah, he cocked his head to the side, then turned his eyes to her feathers and nodded. When he got big... but when would that be?? It could be a long time!! "Daa blurpht?"

"Oh." Well, that was confusing,but...interesting? More confusing, really, but she seemed to understand enough not to ask anymore questions. Absently, she casted a glance the way of the Sin'aeis, tilting her head and flickering her ears. What were they going on about?

"Don't know when it'll be,but..." What was that thing you needed to do first? Oh,right! "You need your abil..lity..or something first. Mine is cool. I bet yours will be too! Or..did you get it already?"

Good, she understood! ...Well enough, anyway. Eck, Banda did not know machines. That was Isto's area of expertise. Banda's was art, and he was happy that way. Let Isto get all sweaty and smelly building a motorcycle. Banda preferred his paints anyday.

"Aabaa'eee?" Lyrus blinked, then shoot his head, staring curiously at up Kilah. "Daa abaaee?" He didn't have anything that he could think of. 'Cept for his shiny horn. But he didn't think that was what she meant. It had always been there, and apparently you had to find this new one...or something.

"Hmm." A thoughtful look was across the toddlers face. Suddenly, she got to her feet and rushed off, calling over her shoulder to her friend. "I'll be back soon!"

Caught off guard,Gizmo squawked and rushed after her. Noyama gave a somewhat pathetic,"W-wait for me!" before waving to Banda and hurrying after the chicken girl.

Lyrus blinked, then frowned, waving sadly in goodbye while his friend ran off. He sighed, glancing boredly up at Banda, then rolled to his knees and crawled after his nautilus, which had hidden itself under a bush. Silly shelled octopus thing.

The words of Noyama had not been total lost with Kilah. Or...more so the advice of Lucky hadn't been lost with Noyama, allowing her to repeat it to the Sin'aeis. The advice was "gifts" that meant something to you--a value besides money--were the best of all. Sadly,Kilah didn't have anything like, but hopefully what she DID have would do...

Ever loyal,Gizmo trotted along side her, leading his blind companion to the mansion with Noyama trailing slowly behind them. With one hand Kilah held onto Gizmo, but with the other a small basket was placed on her. Every once in a while it would twitch..

Lyrus was bored. Bored bored bored bored. Kilah had run off to who knows where, leaving him alone with Banda and his nautilus. After a short while of waiting, the infant had quickly gotten fed up and crawled over to Banda, tugging on the SM's pants until he sat on the ground.

By this time, Banda had flopped down on his back in the grass, eyes staring up at the sky as he did his best to ignore Lyrus. The baby in question had pulled back Banda's shirt and set the nautilus on his stomach, and was now poking at the strange creature in an attempt to make it crawl around...which is did. Banda grimaced.

"Suppose to do that?" Noyama asked, nodding toward the strange creature as she leaned over Banda. That said, she stepped back and smiled brightly at Lyrus. He probably wouldn't get a chance to see such, because Kilah's hand waved around until she located his arm,and then the baby was quite literally drug away from the older group.

When Kilah felt they were far enough away, she let is arm go and turned around, making a "shhh" noise. Then she whispered,"I brought you something!",and nodded down at the basket.

"It's weird," Banda announced, grimacing at the little nautilus before blinking up at Noyama. He grinned and sat up, effectively knockling Tzil off himself. He quickly righted the nautilus, then returned his eyes to Noyama. "Welcome back!"

Lyrus babbled absently in confusion when he was literally dragged away, waving cheerfully in goodbye to his 'pet' before half crawling off with Kilah. He cocked his head in confusion, then blinked down at the basket, face splitting in a smile. "Daaa, Kii? Daaa?"

"Is cute." Strange, but cute. It looked like the one she'd seen one of Jeane's children with before, though she didn't have a clue what they actually were. "Very sorry leaving. Kilah run off so sudden..."

The toddler gave a thoughtful,"Hm." Then whatever she was thinking about seemed to pass, and she kneeled down infront of him and the basket, still speaking in a quiet voice. "If I give this to you,you have to be nice. No biting or hurting, kay?"

"It's...interesting." Really, the little thing was rather annoying. And slimy. In a not-really-slimy-but-has-weird-tentacles sort of way. But it was pretty, so Banda didn't mind bringing it around. "Oh, that's quite alright. Jax does the same thing. I'm already dreading the day Lyrus starts walking."

The baby blinked. Be nice? ...Well, that depended who he had to be nice too. Like, if he had to be nice to Jax, then he'd rather not get the whateveritwas. Jax was a stupid head. But Lyrus was alwayds nice to Adroi. And to Kilah and Mignon! Soo...If Kilah gave him the whateveritwas, of course he would be nice to it. Any gift was worth being nice to. After a brief internal debate, Lyrus nodded and smiled up at Kilah, then curiously returned his eyes to the basket. "Nnn, Kii! Daaa?"

Hm. As far as Noyama knew only Mignon had grown the same time as Kilah, but there were rumors someone else just had. The one with bunny ears she'd seen only once before. It was such a brief meeting she couldn't even remember his name! "Lyrus have his..uh..abbbbilitttyyy?" Obviously she had some trouble with that word, which was likely the reason Kilah did as well.

"Okay!" His tone was enough to trust, and nevermind the fact his words..well..weren't really words. It made her mad to hear people say babies weren't smart. Lyrus was plenty smart! But Sin'aeis were different from human babies. Kilah agreed they were stupid...

Almost as if reading her mind,Gizmo trotted over to the basket, latched his beak onto the blanket covering the basket and tossed it aside. Inside was a small furball of a creature who was much to busy sleeping to take any notice of them. "He's a boy like you.'Yama said his colors were kinda like yours..uh..I think. He sleeps a whole lot,but he's really fuzzy. You want to keep him?"

User Image

"Ability?" Banda thought over it, then shook his head. No, as far as he knew, Lyrus was just a baby, normal except for his...original appearance. He didn't have any abilities. Not that Banda knew of, anyway. Maybe Moo would know... Just to be on the safe side, Banda shook his head. "I don't think so. I didn't know they had, um, abilities. Kilah has one?"

Lyrus giggled, then followed Gizmo's motions to the basket, curiously peering inside once the blanket was removed. Throughout Kilah's explanation, he simply started at the little ball of fuzz, resiting the urge to poke at it. That would be mean, 'cause it was sleeping, and Lyrus knew he didn't like it when people woke him while he was sleeping. Finally he looked back up at Kilah and nodded, reaching a hand towards the little creature. Could he hold it..? "Baaruthpt, Kii! Daabzzk ssssnn!"

For the first time that day,Noyama didn't feel quite as stupid. She had a suprisingly large amount of knowledge on not just Kilah but the Sin'aeis in general. "Yes,need ability to grow. Kilah has one. Hear things no matter how quiet. Mignon can tell when people lie. Before Lyrus grow,he get one too."

"You wanna hold him?" Kilah questioned the other, thinking it over. The creature was small, the size of a tiny kitten. "If you're not to rough go ahead. But remember,he's only a baby. You know..like you." The last part was spoken a bit quieter, and a snicker soon followed. She'd overheard the conversation Noyama had started. Lyrus still needed his ability?

"Ohh...." Well, that made sense. Banda knew little to nothing on the Sin'aeis. But that was fine around the house, because Moo knew nothing about them either. So they were both learning as they went along. This information would undoubtably be helpful in the future. Perhaps that was why Lyrus hadn't grown yet? Because they had missed his ability...thing? What if they had missed it, and Lyrus wouldn't have another chance!? Would he be stuck a baby forever!?! Banda cringed, then nodded slightly, glancing up at Noyama. "How do you know when they receive a..um...ability?"

Lyrus nodded and, following her instructions, carefully lifted the little creature from the basket and set it on his lap. The Cera, lazy thing that it was, merely cracked and eye before curling up and going back to sleep. This delighted Lyrus to know end. Giggling softly, he carefully pet the little creature, but froze and frowned with Kilah's words. It wasn't his fault he was still little! She didn't have to make fun of him! Lyrus briefly considered giving back the Cera, but soon decided it was too fuzzy and wonderful. So with a babbled 'Baa phhffft, Kii' he decided to shun Kilah. That would teach her.

Noyama being Noyama, she didn't catch on to why he had reacted in such a way. The abilities seemed like good things. Well,Kilah's was in her opinion, anyway. It came in handy what with that whole blind thing. "Get quest from Chaco. Finish and ability come. Why so worried?"

"Aw,I'm just playing with you!" She retorted quickly, sticking her tounge out playfully and scratching Gizmo behind his feather-covered ears. "You'll grow big soon! When you do,I'll take you to my favortie secret place, okay? Not even Mignon been there..." Maybe that would make him less angry?

Banda breathed a sigh of relief. He certainly hadn't met this 'Chaco', and Moo had never mentioned seeing him since she first received Lyrus. That meant he simply hadn't received the quest yet. Good! "I'd though, maybe, that we'd missed Lyrus' quest...thing. But I think he just hasn't gotten it yet. I've never met Chaco."

Hmm, shun Kilah or go to the secret place? ....And Mignon hadn't even been there! Oh, this would give Lyrus something to gloat about, even if it was only to his other friend. Brightening up, he nodded and smiled up at Kilah, cheerfully patting his Cera on the head. "Taa, Kii. Daa bffptnn."

"Chaco Sin'aeis too. Cute boy but mess up on job sometimes. Turn ant into baby." Recalling such a memory, she snickered at the choas that had followed what she had first believed to be a rumor.

Ahh,there we go. She figured that would work. It was true,Mignon hadn't gone or even been told of such a place. The only one beside her who had been there was Gizmo, but Lyrus didn't need to know that little detail. Besides,he'd only gone because Kilah needed him to "see",if you will. "You got a name for him?" Forget the fact he could barely talk...

"He turned an ant into a baby?" Banda snickered, imagining the sight. It was strange enough for normal foods to be turned into babies...or however Chaco did it. But an ant... Well, that seemed awkward. Maybe because it was already alive to begin with. "Ah, well, everyone messes up sometimes."

Glancing down to the Cera, Lyrus hesitated, then shook his head. He would wait to name it until he could talk better, like Kilah could. Hopefully that wouldn't be too far away, or he would have to get Banda to name it. Banda had named Tzil for him, maybe Banda could name the fuzzy thing something good too... "Naah, aait."

Couldn't argue with that. Well,Noyama couldn't,so she nodded in agreement and clapped her hands together suddenly. "Ah. You are smart. You can tell about Easter?" She hadn't gotten the egg hunt deal at all. Kilah thought it was fun to throw them at things until she found out they came from chickens...then suddenly she wanted nothing to do with them.

Cera were fuzzy, fuzzy things. They came from the island where Noyama was from, she'd been told. Hopefully this one would get,uh...less sleep when he got older. "Okay, wait until big too."

"Easter, hmm..." Banda hesitated, then shrugged. "I'm afraid I don't know much about it. This was my first Easter, too... Apparently some famous guy died, but then he came back to life on Easter, and everyone was really happy and gave each other candy... I think. Of course, I'm probably mangling the whole concept." He grimaced. Really, he didn't understand Easter either. Moo was terribly excited about it before she left, but..she had been gone during it. Banda had rescued her and Acia's candy from the rest of the family, though, so all would be fine, he thought.

Lyrus liked this fuzzy thing. It sort of reminded him of his wombat plushie, 'cept it was better, because it had more fur. ...What ever happened to that plush? Lyrus frowned. He had a feeling his 'nephews' had gotten to it. Dari and Zach better not tear up this fuzzy too!

"Oh." Well, that didn't make much sense at all. Some guy died then came back to life? Why would someone celebrate a zombie? And...with candy? What in the world was that? Just when she thought she had this place figured out, along comes other one of these "holiday" things. Ugh. "What is...caaandy?"

Kilah yawned and rubbed her nose. She'd been listening to the two talking nearby, but quickly grew bored with their conversation and was no longer interested in hearing it anyway. They weren't talking about her,so it didn't matter. "Lyrus, can you walk yet?"

Banda's mouth dropped open, eyes widening in shock. "You haven't had candy?" Oh, cruel, cruel world.... Banda adored candy. Any candy. He didn't eat it as often as he used to, but... mmm...sugar. "Candy is a type of food, kind of. It's made mostly of sugar, and you eat it. There're lots of different types of candy. I'll have to bring some next time I bring Lyrus here."

Lyrus finally looked up from his new pet when he heard Kilah speak. The lamb baby eyed her curiously for a moment, then sighed and shook his head, sadly looking down. Truth be told, he had enough trouble just crawling. Sometimes when he held on to things he could stand up. But walking... Nah, every time he tried that, he fell. Kilah didn't need to know that, though. "Naa... sss aawooo."

"Sugar." That was a new word. Sounded funny. Well, not so new. Lucky mentioned it once, and said it was NEVER to brought in the house. It rotted teeth, she told them, and made one sick. But...Banda spoke of it so differently. Maybe by different types there were good and bad kinds of these "candy" things? "I see."

Smart, yes, but Kilah was still a toddler. She remembered her days as a baby, though they were likely to fade in the future. At the moment, the memory she recalled was the one where she'd had trouble making the "ssss" sound. It seemed so silly now,but there was no deny the fact Lyrus had helped her. "Well then!" Getting to her feet, she nudged Gizmo away and held her hand out to the baby. "Do you wanna try?"

"Of course....too much can be bad," Banda admitted with a sigh. But then perked up, smiling cheerfully at Noya. "But if you eat right otherwise, a bit of candy doesn't hurt." Hmm, now Banda wanted candy. Yes, yes, sugar....bwahahaha....

Only when she stood did Lyrus look up. He eyed her hand curiously, then hesitated, reaching up a hand to scratch his head. What if he fell again infront of Kilah!? Maan, this wasn't fair. Why could she walk and talk and not him? And Mignon could too, from what he'd heard... Well, he would just have to learn! Nodding, Lyrus carefully lifted the Cera off his lap and set it beside him on the grass. He then reached up and took Kilah's hand with both of his own, struggling to his feet, swaying somewhat once her stood and clinging to Kilah for balance.

"Where Noyama is from, unhealthy people are thrown in the ocean." Her voice wasn't as serious as it should have been, but it didn't seem like she was lying. Noyama herself didn't seem like the type to lie, anyway. She just made it seem so casual,so it caused a rather akward pause. Finally, she shrugged and broke the silence, and there was that curiousty again. "How related to Moo again?"

"See? You're doing great!" In no way could she prove that, espcially since she felt him clinging to her and such seemed to risk him falling down. Taking both his hands careful, she carefully stepped away from him, still holding his arms up so he wouldn't fall. "Come on,you can do it! Gizmo, show him how." Without protest, the griffon marched over. Suddenly the four-footed creature was standing on only two. As if he'd mastered the technique,he put one foot forward, then the other, and took a few steps before dropping back on the ground. "Did you see? You can do that!"

Banda blinked, then raised a brow, eyeing Noyama warily. He wasn't quite sure whether she was joking or not, but was silently thanking the fates that he was healthy. Enough, anyway. Not like he could go run a marathon or anything, but he was in shape, and that was all that mattered. Finally he just shrugged and relaxed into the new subject, smiling. "Adopted son. And I say that meaning... I haven't lived with her since birth, unlike most of the household. But I have been there for quite a while. Since I was a kid, anyway."

Lyrus whined softly in protest when she stepped away, hands closed in a deathgrip on hers, swaying on his feet as he worked to stay standing. He finally caught his balance and looked up at her, then back down to Gizmo, watching the griffon curiously. Well, Gizmo could do it! So, by all rights, Lyrus could to! Right...? ...Of course! After a moments hesitation, Lyrus shuffled one foot forward on the grass, the other soon following. When he still managed to keep his balance, he picked up one foot and quickly set it down a step forward. When he didn't fall, Lyrus' face split in a grin, and he turned his eyes back up to Kilah, beaming proudly at his friend. "Sss taaa, Kii!!"

"At home, family not mean have the same blood." Her "home" was even stranger then her. One minute she's talking about throwing people in the ocean, the next she's mentioning their strong family values. Blushing suddenly, she rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, and was suddenly very thankful for her dark complextion as it hid the first part at least. "I'm...not like them, though. Not hurt anyone..."

When Kilah didn't react,Gizmo gave a squawk. Immediatly the toddler broke into cheers and various other praises, tempted to clap her hands but deciding against it. "Very good! You should be walking as good as me in no time now!"

He shrugged and leaned back, propping himself up on his elbows. "Well, here family doesn't necessarily mean that either. No one in my family it really related by blood. Not even me an' Isto, and we're both SMs. But we're still a family..." He final comment caused him to look up, curiously aroused. "Hurt people? Why would they hurt people..?"

Lyrus positively beamed, proudly taking another step to demonstrate his new found talent....and promptly falling on his butt. Ahh, well, that was fine! Because he had taken a step, and that meant he could do it again. And soon enough, just like Kilah said, he would be walking as good as she did! Lyrus was so proud...

"Where Noyama from..." She paused as if trying to think of what to say, then raised a hand and pointed to herself. Like it wasn't obvious who she was talking about. "There are...rules. Kilah is bad to them. Not suppose to be blind. Blind is different, and different is bad. All people the same." Raising the hand she held higher, she grasped a strand of her hair and tugged on it lightly. "All have this, for one." Ah,this was always so complicated to explain...

Hearing the thump,Kilah shrugged and down she went. Now sitting across from him,she felt the bundle of feathers move to her side. The griffon had done his part to help Lyrus,so she was plenty generous with her praising pats on the head. "Met Aard yet? He's mean. You see?" Saying this, she turned her hand and pointed up toward her cheek. It was still slightly red,and the scratch was hardly visible, but Kilah had insisted the pain was still unbareable. Sadly,Noyama didn't buy it. "He do this."

"Oh..." Banda nodded slightly, then fell silent. One of those 'perfect' societies... Where anyone with any diability was terminated to 'better the breed', to coin a term. After a short while, Banda chuckled softly, glancing up to Noya and grinning faintly. "Well, I wouldn't've lasted long there."

"Aaad?" Lyrus questioned, then shook his head, forgetting she couldn't see. Reaching over, he scooped up the still-sleeping Cera and pulled it onto his lap, absently petting the soft fur while he 'chatted' with Kilah. "Naa Aaad." No, he hadn't met that boy yet. When Kilah pointed out the scratch, Lyrus frowned, dark eyes glinting dangerously despite his young age. Ohhh, he was mad. "Baa Aaad! Ssss fwaapht, thoop ded!"

"Mm..." For a moment, she mimiced his previous silence. When she spoke again her voice was but a whisper,as if someone was listening and she didn't want them to hear. "They are bad people. Good people ones like you. Uh..you are person, yes?" She chuckled at this, and with the hand that still hovered infront of her was now tugging on one of her ears. "Hard to tell. Many different kinds of people here. They are..like candy."

She had no problem with Lyrus's temper. Mainly because it was toward Aard, and Aard was indeed stupid. Plus,he'd called her a liar! HE was the liar! HE hit her first! Hmph! Just wait until her feathery minions got old enough to walk. He'd be sorry. "Yes,Aard very stupid. Stay 'way from him."

He smiled, chuckling softly at her question and shrugging. "Close enough. I'm a SkullMonkey. Tail, see?" He swept it around for her view, absently flicking the tip. "Yeah, there're lots of different people 'round here...But I like that about Gaia. Makes things more interesting."

"Naaa," Lyrus protested, scowling and balling a hand into a fist. He shook the fist threateningly at...nothing, then calmed down a bite and returned to petting his Cera, nearly growling out of anger. "Thoop ded. Ssss fwaapht phoo Kii!"

"Ah! Have one of those!" She grabbed her tail and lifted it up for him to see, then almost pouted seeing how different they were. But differences were good, right? Shrugging mostly to herself, she let the fluffly fox tail drop back to the ground and focused her attention on him. SkullMonkey? She'd never heard of that before. "I like monkies. See some on the black box that shows moving pictures! Like climb trees?"

With a shake of her head she chuckled and waved a hand. "Nah,it's alright. We'll get him when you and Lorelei and Taryn grow up,okay?" The giggle that followed made it hard to tell if she was joking or not. Chances are she wasn't,the two of them really did have it out for each other. "You practice walking though, okay? Then you can come to my house and see all the stuff in the barn."

He grinned and sat up, absently bringing his tail around to set on his lap. Chuckling softly, he shook his head. "I've never been very good at climbing trees... SMs are as monkey-ish as most monkies. Actually, I'm not sure we're really monkies. But, anywho... I don't blimb much, but my brother used to. He's got a metal arm, s'really good for climbing."

Lyrus mumbled a reply, but dropped the subject, already plotting Aard's demise. NO ONE hurt his friends and got away with it. Lyrus would see to that. He nodded absently in reply, then snapped back to the present and smiled. "Taa, paak. Kii baan? Daa baan?"

"Oh,well-" Noyama haulted mid-sentence,ears perking intently up and twitching as a slight breeze blew past them. Rather suddenly she seemed very amused, and leaned back a bit to stare upward at the sky. "You fly before?"

"Hm?" She either hadn't caught what he said or hadn't been listening, likely the later. It was difficult to tell if she was ever paying attention, considering she couldn't very well look at those speaking to her. "Um...I dunno?" Was all she offered for the time being, and only then it became clear she'd been busy listening to Noyama incase her name was mentioned. The nerve of her...spreading those lies! "Like protector,Lyrus?"

He blinked, somewhat confused by the sudden change of subject. Shrugging, he fell back to lay on the grass, blinking up at the sky curiously. "Nope. Moo offered to take me flying once, but..eh... dunno. It's very high up."

'I dunno'? That didn't answer his question! But...oh well. It wasn't important anyway, he supposed. Of course, now he was just confused. Protector? "Eh?" Lyrus blinked.

"Very much fun! Good like..uh..candy!" Noyama offered in an assuring tone, and as she did so another light wind picked up. "You want to?"

"Protector. The one who watches you." Jeane had Mignon,Aard had Lividie. But what was the name of the one Lyrus had? Scratching her head, her feathers ruffled together as a result of the sudden wind, but she didn't seem to notice. "Yours name is Moo,I think? You like her?"

Banda blinked, then sat up and raised a brow, eyeing her curiously. "You can fly? I..umm... Flying...." He hesitated, then took a deep breath and shrugged slightly, smiling nervously. "I....sure?"

"Aaah..." Lyrus nodded in understanding, patting his chin throughtfully with his hand as he had seen Banda do. Well, he didn't know his guardian all that well. He had purposely done his best to annoy her while she was around, but she had been missing for a while, along with that annoying flying rat thing... Finally he shrugged. "Ehh.... Taa, Oo nn."

At first,Noyama merely raised an eyebrow. It took a minute for the thought to register, but when she finally caught on she laughed and shook her head. "No,not fly! Not have wings!" Just to be sure, she glanced over her shoulder. Nope,no wings. Before she could provide an explanation, the once light wind was now a bit harsh. Harsh enough to make Gizmo stand protectively infront of the two Sin'aeis to block them from the wind.

With a loud cry the winged-horse finally landed just beside Noyama and Banda. Young,no doubt, and her wings were oddly shapened. Said wings had some black markings, and her mane and tail matched such a dark shade, but otherwise she had no "coloring" to speak of. "She can fly."

Kilah glared in the direction of the pegasus. She'd never liked that one... Shaking her head she turned back to Lyrus, and Gizmo moved back beside her, annoyed at how messy his lovely feathers had gotten. "I don't like Noyama. I'm gonna run away one day,you know. She believe Aard. Not right. He lies."

Banda inwardly sighed in relief. Not that he didn't trust Noyama, but she was much smaller than him. Flying with her would have been nearly impossible, he thought. He turned his head towards the wind to keep it from blowing his hair in his face, closing his eyes against the gust. At the cry of the horse, he literally jumped, eyes snapping open to stare up at the creature. He scrambled to his feet, mouth dropping open in awe. "She's yours...?"

Wind annoyed Lyrus. The flying rat was always making wind everywhere! Lyrus was sick of it. He shot a glare towards the horse thing, who he judged was the cause, then returned his attention to Kilah, tilting his head. "Aies! Aaad thoop ded. Kii coeh ssss?"

"Yours?" It wasn't a question, she was just repeating him. "What do you mean?" The concept of "owning" something--man or beast--was lost with Noyama. She simply hadn't be raised that way. In her native tounge, there was no word for "pet" or "owned". Finally she did seem to catch on to what he had meant, and wasn't sure if she should no or shake her head. "She..uh..stay with Noyama now. Have more in barn at home, but this one like outside more. Name Sassy. Strange name, don't know why."

The creature snorted and trotted back a bit,her hooves scraping against the dirt. Her green eyes sparked in Noyama's direction, and it only took a nod from her before she wandered back to where she had previously been standing, lowering her head and sniffing the air infront of Banda curiously.

"Yes,Aard is stupid..." Kilah agreed, barely above a mutter. Her attention span was a short one,and had briefly been grasped by "Sassy". More so her arrival. That wind had picked up so suddenly. "It's alright,I won't go anywhere until you're bigger, anyway. Promise."

He wasn't sure how to explain the concept of owning another creature, and so he didn't bother, breathing a sigh of relief when she continued on without it. Nodding slightly in understanding, he returned his eyes to Sassy, smiling hesitantly when she approached him once more. He cleared his throat, then held up a hand and waved slightly, smiling nervously. "Hi, um..Sassy. I'm Banda."

Reassured by her promise, he smiled and nodded slightly, then turned his attention to his Cera. Silly little thing, it slept for so long... Maybe it was like Adroi. Adroi slept a lot of the time, too. It if was, Lyrus knew he would like the little creature. He did need to name it, though... Hmm...

Her head jerked back up and she nearly slid back at the sudden motion. Well,it wasn't really sudden, but it seemed she wasn't use to much contact from anyone. Lowering her snout, she nudged his hand curiously before giving an approving snort. Noyama clapped her hands together, happy to see Banda was okay by her. She remembered the last time Sassy hadn't liked someone,and,well...it didn't end well. "Ah,she like you!"

Suddenly Kilah blinked. It was odd of her to do such a thing. As if she could see,her hand twisted to stare over her shoulder. "Gizmo, you hear something?" When the griffon answered with what must have been a no,the toddler asked again, but Lyrus this time. "Lyrus, you hear anyone?"

Banda's lips spread in a relieved grin when the mare nudged his hand, lowering his hand and relaxing with Noya's added assurance. He stared in honest respect at Sassy, questioning Noya without looking her way. "She'll actually fly us?"

Lyrus cocked his head curiously at his friend when she looked away, blinking in confusion. What was the point in looking if she couldn't see? At her question, he listened carefully, but shook his head, leaning sideways to peer past Kilah. As far as he could tell, there was nothing... "Naa, Kii."

"Yes,still foal but fly very well." There was another suprise. She was certainly large for being a baby. A horse is a horse of course. But,Sassy was a pegasus not a horse. Therefore,it didn't seem to phase Noyama at all when,as if understand, the creature snorted again and nodded her head.

"Oh,okay." Must be a squirrel or something. She'd never admit it,but that "ability" of hers had actually made her quite paranoid. She could hear absolutely everyone around her at all times. A deer breaking a twig. A bird landing on a branch. Anything she could hear, and she hadn't been able to tell the differences between the sounds just yet. "I guess it's nothing then."

"A pegasus..." Banda mused, smiling at the winged horse. He hesitated momentarily, then started around the filly, eyes wandering the horse. "Hmm... I've never seen a real pegasus before... I would very much like to paint you," he murmured, then glanced back up to Sassy, smiling. "If you don't mind, of course. It'd be a nice change.."

Lyrus wasn't so sure. He started suspiciously past Akilah, dark eyes searching for...well, anything. But as far as he could tell, there was nothing. Oh well. Kilah heard a lot, from what he knew. More than he himself could hear. But....well, it wasn't important. "Naa een."

She gave him an akward look, eventually giving the same to Noyama who did nothing more then shrug. Following her example, the over-sized filly stepped back a bit, tilting her head and watching Banda carefully. Aside from Noyama,he was the strangest she'd met so far. Not that she'd met that many...

"Gizmo, what're they doing?" Kilah had come to a conclusion that any sound she'd heard must just be an echo from all the racket the little trio nearby was making. Her answer was a variety of chirps and squawks, but oddly enough she seemed to have no trouble what so ever understanding them.

"I usually paint landscapes," he explained, not once thinking the filly didn't understand him. "Or sounds. I don't paint living things often... But you're the first pegasus I've met, so... I'd like to paint you." He shrugged, smiling sheepishly.

He glanced towards the trio curiously, but soon lost interest, returning his attention to Kilah. The infant blinked, then yawned, eyelids drooping. He lifted one hand to rub his eye, yawning once more before looking down at the Cera on his lap. The fuzz had the right idea, he thought. Lyrus could use a nap...

"Hm." While Banda was speaking with the lovely pegasus,Noyama was watching the two Sin'aeis. It was a good thing Kilah couldn't see, because she was staring right at them. "Friend Banda, perhaps tomorrow would be better?" She didn't want to dissapoint him,but Lyrus certainly looked tired. A certain winged girl probably was too, even if she was less likely to show it. As an after thought she added,"Will clean Sassy so be perfect when you paint her. Lyrus tired, see?"

Watercolors wouldn't work for this, Banda decided. Maybe oil pastels, hmm.... With Noya's words, he snapped out of his thoughts, blinking over at her, then towards the two Sin'aeis, just as Lyrus yawned once more. "Hmm..? Oh, yes, you're probably right... We'll try for tomorrow, then. We'd best be going anyway. It's getting late... It was nice meeting you," he finished, nodding politely to Sassy.

Banda stepped over to Lyrus and picked up the yawning infant, who, having failed to notice his approached, cried out in surprise and clung to his Cera. Once he realized it was Banda, he growled at his temporary guardian for having scared him, then curled up in his arms with a yawn, snuggling the Cera...who had slept through it all. Before they could leave, Lyrus leaned over and waved goodbye to Kilah, mumbling sleepily, "Baa, Kii! Baaa!"

A brief search later, Banda had found the nautilus and set it on Lyrus beside the Cera. With a final wave to the trio, he started for the gate. "See you soon!"
