I like both, if there done right. But more times then not I like magic more. Caues I like the clothes transforming with the victiem, not to metion all the plot/logic wholes that seem to come up in the science catagory. I hate plot and logic wholes.
D=<
Yeah, I like both to depending on how it's done and what kind of theme the story is going to have. I do have a slight preference for science when it's plausible tho, because it's easier to imagine that becoming real some day. But magic disguised as science kinda bugs me.
Like "Ka-Girl pills", and clothing changing with the person? Caues that's the worst offenders. Thow I think stories involveing surgery, hormons, ect abit of a turn of thow on the other extrem.
XD
Well, I was thinking like transformation guns, or really any sort of blackbox tech that does instant changes without making at least some effort at explaining what's in the box. Technology based 'mind swapping' is also a bit twitchy, tho the Raelians think it's plausible.
(Honestly, I would love for them to be right but I'm just too skeptical for that.)
Hormones and surgery I don't have much problem with, especially if the story is 'willing ts' rather than involuntary. That's getting into how the 'theme' of the story changes which method I prefer to see, though.

I like stories that involve grey slime (gient hord of nano bots that transform people) the most, when it comes to Sci-fi transformations. Too bad there isn't more of them.
The only comic I know of using that right now is Angels & Aliens. I haven't explored too much into pure-text stories yet, though.
How about retrovirii? There's currently experimental work being done involving using those on diabetics, and the application could theoretically be extended to transgender treatments as well.
"Grey Slime" Transformations are abit of a new concepet in Sci-fi but it is plasuable. I was saw this realy good sci-fi short invovling these life forms who bassicly turned there whole bodies into nano bots. This gave them the power to transform with there hearts content. (Thow it was uesly non humanoid thing the whole time. They were never in a humonaid form once)
The only sci-fi TG comic I've seen was on siren song, involeing a man trying to steal the trade secrets of the perfect sex android, only to be turned into one him self.
=U
Another obsucre kind of TG I like, but's more of a magic thing are TG Zombies. Undead women who turn both men and women into undead madiens for there ranks. Only seen it once, and it was in a RP.
XD
Silence of the Clams
Maybe I am a masochist, but I like it when the guy gets the crap kicked outta him, and then is turned into a girl. It incorporates my 2 favorite things, TG themes, and Violence
I'd love TG zombies then. Rip out a man's neck, then turn him into women. He then in turns does this to other men and women, and the cycle continues.
=D
hhhmmmmm.
