Homecoming

He really needed to read some of the things that he signed, Peri realized as he put down the phone. He'd just gotten a phone call from a group saying that they'd love for him to come in and do an interview for adoption. Now... when had he signed these papers for this? Peri couldn't remember, but considering you could get him to sign just about anything you shoved in front of him (a bad habit that he really needed to break...) the man just shrugged. He couldn't back out of it now, for they were already expecting him.

Several hours later, a rather energetic bird-like child was following him across the D-corp parking lot. Peri groaned as he thought of his son's reaction to this girl. Piper was rather fiery and they'd said that she would need to attend their school when she got old enough for special classes, but that he was to teach her general education stuff. Fun. At least Nibal had learned all that at school with just some help at home...

The man unlocked the door to his apartment. "Nibal..." he called out as he led Piper inside and shut the door. The frog boy appeared out of his room, stark naked (as was usual) and Piper screeched, covering her eyes with her hands. Perilas winced at the high-pitched noise. "Uh, Nibal... go get dressed..."

Nibal eyed the girl for a moment, then trudged off and returned a few minutes later with clothes on. "He's dressed now, Piper," Peri reassured the girl, who cautiously peeked through her fingers before lowering her hands from her face. "Piper, this is Nibal. Nibal, this is Piper. She's going to be your sister."

Nibal frowned at that. "Sister...?" He crossed his arms grumpily. "Don't want a sister!" With that, the frog boy stomped off to his room and slammed the door shut.

Perilas sighed as he eyed the strange bird-like girl who was bouncing (quite literally) around his living room. He'd spent that morning grumbling over the fact that he'd just gotten another child shoved into his care and had had to make a phone call to D-corp to arrange a larger apartment. The little two bedroom one was not going to hold two kids and a dragon. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be ready until tomorrow. So Peri was currently setting up a sort of bed on the couch, having dug out some spare blankets and pillows. The girl was (in Peri's mind) aptly named Piper. Peri figured it was because she couldn't shut up and was always piping up about something or another. Peri was not looking forward to the next day, trying to move all of his stuff up a couple of floors to their new apartment with this chatterbox in tow.

"Oooh, I likes fluffy pillows!" The torchic girl's voice invaded Peri's thoughts as she snatched the pillow from his hands and hugged it close. "Fluffy pillows are so softs and... well, fluffy! It's hard not to likes them."

Peri stared at the girl for a moment. "I see. Well, you'll get that pillow tonight and then I'll even let you have it when we get our new apartment tomorrow..."

Piper frowned. "A new place? Already? But I likes this one. This is my home, right? I thoughts I was going to lives here with you..."

Peri shook his head. "Remember Nibal?" He figured the girl probably did. She'd nearly talked the poor boy's ear off at lunch and the frog boy had retreated with Kal back to their room. The man didn't give Piper enough time to answer, plowing on with the rest of what he had to say. "Well, Nibal has his own room and I have mine. But there's not any more bedrooms here. So we're all moving tomorrow to another apartment. It's just upstairs a few floors and then you can have your own room like Nibal."

"Will I gets a dragon, too?" Piper remembered Nibal's dragon. It hadn't talked any and didn't seem to like her very much.

"Uh... no. Nibal has a dragon because that's why he was born." At least, the man hoped that Piper wouldn't be getting a dragon. Nothing had been said about dragons when he'd gotten this kid dumped on him. Oh well, he shouldn't worry about that too much. If she was to get one, she'd get one with or without him worrying about it. "Okay, Piper. It's bedtime... Do you want me to leave a lamp on for you?"

Piper went wide-eyed at the word 'bedtime'. "Nononononono! No bedtimes!" With that she fled across the living room to take refuge under the kitchen table. "NO BEDTIMES!" She screamed as Peri started across the living room after her.

Perilas frowned and shook his head. "No shouting inside, Piper. It's Nibal's bedtime, too. We all need to get some sleep tonight so we can move tomorrow..."

"NO BEDTIMES! NO! NO!"

"PIPER!" Peri had to shout to be heard over the girl's screaming. Nibal's head poked out of his room, curious as to what was going on in the living room. "Back to bed, Nibal." The boy gave a shrug and closed the door. Peri turned back to the girl under the table. "Now, Piper. Tonight you've got the whole living room to yourself to sleep in. Tomorrow I'll even let you pick out your own bedroom." And pray that the two kids don't fight over it... Peri added mentally. "But tomorrow won't come unless you go to sleep."

"DON'T WANNA GOES TO SLEEP! NO BEDTIMES!"

Peri winced as the girl shouted practically right in his ear. As he bent down to Piper's level, the girl took off, fleeing to the only other place in the apartment to hide; Peri's bedroom. Standing up, the man let out a long sigh before heading towards his bedroom. Entering, he saw a rather large lump in the middle of his bed. Grinning, the man plopped himself onto the bed and leaned over the lump, which giggled. "Okay, Piper. Playtime's over now."

The lump wriggled, making unhappy noises. "No bedtimes!"

"Yes, Piper. It's time for bed." Peri let up enough so that Piper could get out from under him. He sternly eyed the girl's head as it popped out from under the covers.

"Can... can I stays with you?" The girl finally asked in a small voice. "There could be scary monsters in theres... Piper sleeps in here tonight? Then sleeps in her own room in new place?"

Peri opened his mouth to try and come up with an alternative, but considering the progress made, the man shut his mouth and nodded. "You can sleep in here tonight, Piper." Blast it all, though, that meant he'd have to hunt down those pajama bottoms that he never wore... "C'mon. We'll brush our teeth and get our jammies on and get ready for bed, okay?"

"Okay... Can I haves the fluffy pillow?"

A, B, C. Easy as... Who came up with this?!

Peri sighed as he reread a note he'd gotten from the school that Piper would be attending when she got old enough. They expected her to know the basics when she got there. Fun. At least D-corp handed out worksheets for the kids to work on at home as well as the kindergarten teacher to work with them at school. He'd only had to do the alphabet and numbers with Nibal at home and the occasional help with his other homework from time to time.

So how to teach a hyperactive girl her letters and numbers? As well as colors, shapes, and whatever else little kids needed to learn? The man sighed, wondering how he was going to do this. Well, it'd be best to just take it one thing at a time. So, the alphabet first. Then he could move into numbers, then colors, then shapes. Though Peri doubted he'd be able to get that far. Or anywhere near that far.

Finally, about an hour later, Piper was seated at the table with a box of crayons and several sheets of paper in front of Peri, who was sitting beside her. "Piper, we're going to have a school lesson today. Pay attention, okay?" Piper nodded, eying the crayons, eager to get to coloring, which was obviously what this "lesson" was, right? She frowned when Peri picked the black crayon out and scribbled something on his paper. "This is an A, Piper. A is for apple."

Twenty-six letters later and Peri felt that no progress had been made. "What's this letter, Piper?" The girl shrugged. Sighing, the man picked up the orange crayon, which got the girl's attention. Much better than that ugly color. Peri drew a circle and colored it in. "An orange. What letter does orange start with?" Piper shrugged again, staring at the bright spot on the paper. "It's an O, Piper..." Peri finally stated, then picked up another one. "What about this one?"

Piper shrugged again. They all looked like scribbles. How was she supposed to tell them apart? "Go play now?" She asked, hopeful that the answer would be a yes.

Peri sighed. "After we sing a song, okay?" Piper nodded and the man swallowed his pride and started to sing the alphabet song. He felt weird singing the thing, but maybe it would help Piper. The man sang it twice before Piper started to pick it up. Once she sang it all the way through, Peri had come up with an idea. "Okay, Piper. How about we play a sort of game? You can jump rope and I'll sing our new song while you do. When you mess up, we'll look at the letter we were on."

Piper grinned. While part of it didn't seem like fun, she'd get to jump rope! The girl ran to her room and retrieved her jump rope while Peri moved enough furniture to make room for the activity inside. Piper ran back and got situated, then started to jump while Peri sang, timing his letters with her jumps. "D, E, F, G..." Piper's foot caught the rope and she came to a stop while Peri shuffled through the papers quickly. "G." He said, holding the picture up. "G is for... girl." He picked up the pink crayon and drew a stick figure with a dress on. "G. Girl." He waited for Piper to repeat it before letting her start jumping again.

The two had to stop their game later as it was time for lunch. Peri stored the makeshift flash cards away and made a couple of quick sandwiches. He fixed two glasses of juice and the two sat down for lunch. Peri's mind was already racing ahead to try and think of other fun ways for Piper to learn the alphabet. Sitting still did not suit the girl well. Maybe if he made another sort of game?

The man struck an idea and finished his sandwich quickly to get it set up. When Piper finally finished, she wandered into the living room to see what her dad had been doing. "What's this, Daddy?" She asked, pointing to where one of the flash cards was taped to the wall.

"It's sort of like a game of tag. I'll call out a letter and you'll have to run and touch it. See how they're all along the walls?" He pointed around the room where the walls had the letters scrambled up. He'd moved most of the furniture out of the way again so that Piper wouldn't hit anything while running back and forth. "See, we'll start with A for apple." He'd spent the time finishing the drawings on the flash cards that didn't have the references. He figured that once Piper started getting better, he'd stop saying the reference unless she was stumped.

That game went on for a long time until Nibal returned from his adventure at the park. "Why are the ABCs taped on the wall..?" He asked his father, who grinned.

Piper, however, was the one who answered. "We're playing a game!" She told her brother. "Wanna play, too? It's lots of fun! Daddy says a letter and we have to find which one it is."

Nibal glanced over at Peri, who grinned. "You should play, too, Nibal. And Kalseru as well. She could learn her letters to read later..." Kal, however, did not like this idea, but was talked into by her blue boy. When Peri started the game up again, Nibal dashed across the room to be first until he realized that his sister and his dragon weren't nearly as good with their letters and so he started to let them win some, earning a smile from Peri.

You want to WHAT?!

Piper had been excited coming home from the mall and her visit with Fenrir. Unfortunately, her dad hadn't seemed to be in the best of moods and so she'd waited to talk to him about getting her ears pierced. Luckily, once the holidays were over, the man seemed a bit happier.

"Hey, Daddy?"

"Yeah?" Peri was reclining on the couch, idly flipping through the channels on the tv. Nibal was lying on the floor nearby with Kal, both messing around with something or another. It was probably alphabet flashcards, Piper mused. The frog boy was still trying to teach the green her letters, which was an interesting adventure.

Piper held out the pamphlet to her father. She'd already read over it, as best as she could, but she couldn't understand some of the words. "Can I get my ears pierced?"

That made Peri sit up straight. "Do what?!"

Piper jumped, startled by the odd reaction from her dad. She noticed that Nibal and Kalseru had stopped whatever they were doing and were looking over in her direction. "Fenrir's daddies do it. She says they're the best at it. One of her daddies gave me this and said you should read it with me."

Peri took the pamphlet, still a bit in shock from the suddenness of this whole thing. Piper was a girl, so ear piercings weren't that big a deal. It was just... sudden. "Uh... are you sure, Piper? It hurts when they do it."

Piper nodded. "But they're pretty! And Fenrir's gonna get hers pierced too! We're gonna get matching earrings!" The girl bounced a bit as she sat down nearly in her parent's lap.

"Let me think on it, okay?" Peri said, sighing.

The girl frowned. "But..." She stopped and nodded, her shoulders drooping. That meant that Daddy wasn't going to let her. Now she wouldn't get matching earrings with Fenrir.

Peri let Piper sit there for a few minutes before he finally gave in. "Okay, if you're sure you want them..."

Piper bounced happily, hugging her father. "Thankyou!Thankyou!"

The man chuckled softly as he pried the girl off of him. "Now, let's read over this, okay? You'll need to know what to do after you get them."

"Okay!"

"Can I crash here?"
An AIM RP

Quote:
They were, not quite, homeless for the forseeable future. While a little wary about what a stay at Perilas's house would do to his new daughter, T'rin was too pissed to care...much. Besides the man now had a son so perhaps he'd be a little more careful about his ah--nocturnal-- activities...So here he was, sleeping beauty on his shoulder, pounding on the door of one Perilas Coleman. Which was just as well since he was supposed to be meeting his brother's and their kids at the waterpark the next day regardless. It just goes to show, the universe really did hate him.

Quote:
Inside, the knocking brought forth slight chaos. The family had been rather lazy about unpacking everything, especially stuff they hadn't needed right away. Peri could be heard yelling at Kal to be careful not to knock those boxes over with her tail and trying to calm Piper down, who was excited about the possiblilty of one of her friends coming over (though none knew where they lived as far as he knew) and Nibal attempting to get Kal under control, which caused the dragon to race about the living room, almost tripping Peri.

Finally, the man arrived at the door and opened it, wondering who would be standing outside. Needless to say, who he saw was the person he expected the least. "T'rin...?" This was the brother he and Talner had tramatized as a child. Why would the man volunteer to show up at Peri's door?

Quote:
Much as T'rin wanted to punch his brother's lights out (not that he was in any way capable of violence), he really didn't want to wake Kate up. Instead, the man settled for glaring at his much older brother. "May I come in?" he asked coldly, far from his normal timid self. Shifting Kate slightly to releive his cramping arm, T'rin glared even harder at his brother, almost daring him to comment.

Quote:
"Uh, sure..." Peri was still unsure as to why his little brother was here, but he stepped aside to let the man in, hissing at his own kids to be quiet as he spied the sleeping child T'rin was carrying. Peri shut the door gently and gestured his brother on into the apartment. "We just moved a little while ago, so we're still unpacking..." He said in explaination of the boxes around the room. The man gestured towards the couch.

Nibal managed to get Kal into his room and told her not to tear anything up. He shut the door and went into the living room, peering at T'rin. He recognized his uncle and grinned at the man, pointing at Kate. "Who's that?" About that time, Piper bounced into the room and started to say something loudly when Peri shushed her. She walked around the couch and looked at the sleeping girl as well.

Quote:
Ignoring the rukus for a moment, T'rin managed to set Kate down on the couch. Though the girl, shifted and half woke up, it wasn't long until she was completely out again. Satisfied he wasn't going to lose even more hearing T'rin marched over to Peri. Grabbing the older man by the shirt, T'rin began to drag his brother forcefully out of the room, tossing a comment to the kids on the way out, "I need to talk to your dad alone for a moment." It didn't even register that there was one more child then last time in the room. He was utterly focused on well, taking out a lot of issues on his older brother.

Once they were in a different room, T'rin dropped his arm to his side. Fingers curled tightly into fists T'rin hissed, "Do you know what that damn company of yours did!?"

Quote:
Peri was just a bit startled that T'rin showed as much aggression as he did and allowed himself to be dragged into his own room. Having a feeling this wouldn't be going well, Peri shut the door. "I take it the girl's from D-corp?" He didn't seem too upset about the whole thing and sat upon the edge of his bed. "I'm not surprised. They blackmail a lot of people into taking their kids... you meet some interesting people that way..."

Meanwhile, Nibal frowned that his uncle had poofed so soon and wandered back into his room to make sure Kal was behaving. Piper, however, was intrigued by the girl on the couch. She looked interesting!

Quote:
"Interesting!?" T'rin's voice cracked as it still did when he was under pressure or upset. "Perilas Alexander Coleman, if it weren't for you I wouldn't be in this mess! Not only do they give me a child, it got me tossed out of my apartment." Eyes narrowed dangerously. He didn't even want to start into the whole sister/mommy buisness either. "You will be putting us up until I can arrange for new housing." He stated bluntly.

Kate shifted around, slowly waking up from the lack of warmth. Slowly her eyes opened to the back of a couch. Odd. "Cassi?" She asked quietly, hoping he was nearby.

Quote:
"Me?" The man seemed intrigued as to how he was to blame for this. "Well, the only available space right now is the living room. There's not any extra rooms... but you can crash on the couch. You know D-corp will give you an apartment, right? You just gotta pay utilities. Not a bad deal at all." The man nodded. "Plus it'd be just a short walk for her to go to classes and all. Nibal walks back and forth all the time, so it's not a big deal. It's safe, seeing how we're in the middle of nowhere and no one really comes here unless they've got stuff to do for D-corp."

Piper shook her head, though the little girl couldn't see her. "No Cassi here." Unless that man's name was Cassi... "I'm Piper!"

Quote:
Scowling at the dimmness of his brother, "Yes. You. What else did you think they could blackmail me with?" T'rin snapped, then flushed as he realized what he had said. Turning his back on his brother, he huffed. "I'll help cook and clean while we're here," he offered as a peace offering of sorts as most of the sheer fire that had kept him going since early this morning diminished.

Kate began to sniffle a bit, though she didn't turn to face the new voice. "No Cassi? But... Kate and Cassi always together. I want Daddy!" she protested, pulling in a deep breath and getting ready to throw yet another tantrum.

Quote:
Peri chuckled. "They blackmailed you with me? That had to be interesting!" He was blackmail material, huzzah! The man decided not to take the easy jab about T'rin doing the cooking and cleaning. "Sounds good to me."

Piper jumped up as Kate prepared to throw a tantrum. "No cry! No cry! I'll get Daddy!" She rushed to her dad's door and pounded on it, bouncing in as Peri opened the door. "Little girl's going to cry! She want Daddy." Here the girl looked at the other man in the room.

Quote:
T'rin paled. "Nononononono..." he muttered as he hurried out to the outer room, scooping up Kate. "Daddy's here!" he said soothingly as Kate sniffled. "No Cassi? No Mommy?" She blurted out, snuggling into her new dad's arms. Frankly, T'rin was surpised she was adjusting so well, but then again, that was probably why the kids were give out so young. "No... but Uncle T'rin is here and... uh...?" T'rin stared at Piper for a moment before glancing at Peri. "Your cousin!," the doctor finally said. The dog-girl sniffled again, but peeked out at Piper.

Quote:
Piper looked quizzically up at her father, who sighed and explained. "That's my brother, T'rin, which makes him your uncle. And Nibal's uncle. And his girl is your cousin."

"And Nibal's cousin, too?" Peri nodded. "And Kal's cousin?"

Peri shook his head. "No... Kal's not really related like that..." The man went over and retrieved Nibal from his room, while Kalseru tagged along behind the boy. "Nibal, Uncle T'rin and your cousin are going to stay here for a while..."

Quote:
Ducking her head back down, Kate risked another peek at the strang bird girl. How weird. She wasn't like Daddy and she wasn't like Kate or Cassi. "You hurt Cassi?" She asked the strange girl, not sure whether to try and run her off or just accept it.

T'rin kept patting the girl on the back, not entirely sure what the hell he should do. (Of course if Peri or Talner were there, both would point out that T'rin took to mothering just like a girl....) "Uh..... Better?" he asked quietly.

Quote:
Piper shook her head. "Me no know Cassi..." The bird girl looked over at her father, who shrugged. "Who Cassi?" She asked the room in general, wondering who this kid was and why she hadn't been introduced to this Cassi before.

Peri gave a small cough and glanced over at T'rin. "Yes... who is this Cassi she keeps talking about, bro?"

Quote:
"Cassi me." Kate replied simply, still barely peeking out from her Daddy's shoulder. "Kate love Cassi. Techs doen't. Techs mean." Riled up at the mere thought of the D-techs, Kate bit down on the nearest object. T'rin's shoulder.

The man stifled a yelp, and tried to shift Kate around, though the chiuhua was having none of that. "Er..." T'rin finally replied, once he felt like he wouldn't scream with pain, "There was another...dog..thing... person...." The man squirmed, "She went to someone else..."

"Mommy!" Kate added, "Cassi with Mommy!"

Quote:
"Mommy?" Peri glanced at T'rin questioningly. Last he knew, he and Talner had managed to make their little brother swear off women all together. "So where is Mommy?" He asked, curious. Perhaps this was the reason T'rin was at the apartment?

"Techs?" Nibal was interested in the conversation now. "You're from D-corp?? You got your dragon yet? I like mine! She's lots of fun an-" The boy's excited speech was cut off by Peri cupping a hand over the boy's mouth.

"She's too young for a dragon yet, Nibal. She'll get to meet her egg when she gets a bit older. Remember how you had to wait?"

"Oh... yeah. Waiting's no fun..." The boy frowned.

Quote:
T'rin turned around to face his brother and flopped onto the couch, Kate and all with a groan. The girl squirmed around until she could face the new-comers, eyes narrowed at Nibal. The girl growled warningly. The blue boy knew the techs. Maybe he was a meanie too.

"Uh..." T'rin started, then sputtered to a halt. "Uh.. Cassi's mommy. Not Kate's, And I don't know," He didn't include the 'nor do I care' for fear of setting Kate into a screaming fest, yet again. "It was... Gah....Pink and frills and," T'rin closed his eyes and shuddered. It had been horrible.

Quote:
Peri frowned, then perked up. That meant she wasn't taken! He would meet her eventually, as well since this Cassi was from D-corp as well. Score!

Nibal jumped as Kate began to hiss at him. "She scary..." He whined to his daddy, backing away. Kal did not take well to someone hissing at her blue boy. She charged forward and hissed right back at the chihauhau kid, fanning her wings out aggressively. "Kal, no! Bad!" Nibal wrapped his arms around the green's neck and tried to tug her back out of Kate's face.

Quote:
Tiny, weak, chihauhau. Big, strong, dragon. For most people it's common sense to let a dragon be. For Kate the hissing meant, "Meanie!" and an attempt to launch herself at the dragon. Thankfully for the puny little girl, T'rin, though off-balance for a moment, had his arms still around Katherine. Kicking and scratching, Kate tried her hardest to bite the nose that was so very close in front of her.

"No, bad. No biting! No Kate!" T'rin said pleadingly, trying to skooch down the couch further from Kal, before finally just standing up and trying to juggle the girl while still moving away from the dragon.

Quote:
Unfortunately for Nibal and T'rin both. Kal took the straining and scratching and kicking that were all aimed in her direction as a challenge. Little kid or not, Kal was going to get her! The green strained and managed to break free of Nibal's arms and took off after T'rin, attempting to get at Kate.

"Kalseru!" Peri groaned at the stupid green. "Nibal, help me get her into your room..." He hated dealing with the evil dragons and still wanted to shoot the techs for picking a green for his son. The two started towards the green, who hissed at them, threatening them to even try and take her away before she dealt out punishment to this evil being that had invaded her home!

Quote:
T'rin stumbled backwards as the very green, very large dragon with sharp pointy teeth suddenly surged toward him. Letting a screech that would rival Kate's, and did cause the girl to pause for a moment, he mananged to hop his way into firmer footing. "Meanie, meanie, meanie!" Kate shouted at the dragon as she tried to free her self from the constrain's of her father's arms. Deciding to have the sense that Kate was lacking, T'rin booked it to the front door. Fumbling for the latch, the man nearly dropped Kate and got bitten yet again. Finally he managed to slamm the door open, dart through, and slam the door shut again. Panting he uncerimoniously plopped Kate down in front of him.

Quote:
Kal paused at the door, triumphant. She had run them out of her house!! She would've trotted happily off to gloat, but she got tackled by Peri and Nibal and wrestled into Nibal's room, where the door was shut on her. After a moment's pause and some fierce muttering on the other side of the door, it opened just long enough for Nibal to get into the room.

Peri sighed, rubbing his forehead for a moment before going to the front door and opening it. "We got her locked up for now... Nibal's going to talk to her and we'll just be careful not to let her near your kid..." Mentally, he was applauding Kal for the encouragement of getting his brother out of the apartment quicker.

Quote:
Kate took the opportunity to dash through Peri's legs and back into the house, hunting for her foe. Deprived of a battle, the flopped down and screamed in frustration, kicking her legs. Slowly the screams turned to hiccuping sobs as she sat, defeated, in the middle of the room.

T'rin sigh, or sobbed, it was hard to tell which one. "Maybe.. Maybe I should just see if Talner has any room...." the man said in defeat.

Quote:
"Just call D-corp in the morning. I know there's some empty apartments still... The D-corp parents can rent them, you know. They're not bad and, like I said earlier, close for her to go to classes..." The man shrugged and walked back into the apartment, leaving the door open for T'rin. "I'll get you two some pillows and blankets."

Piper had just sat and stared as the whole thing unfolded. She went over and patted Kate gently. "It okay. It okay..."

Quote:
Kate sniffled and replied quietly to the fire-girl in a scratchy voice. "The mean dragon left."

T'rin nodded slowly, exhausted. Stupid brother's, stupid companies and he still had to go into work tomorrow! With another long sigh, the man fished out his cell phone and began to punch numbers. "Hello, this is Dr. Coleman. I'm afraid I have to take another personal day. ...... Yes, I know it's rather short notice...... Yes I'm aware this is not a good start..... I'm very sorry, but it's a family emergency.... Yes, of course..... Bye." Through out the whole call the man kept a wary eye on Katherine, terrified she would burst into tears again. What an emotional child... 'Had to be a cancer' said a small part of his brain, which almost made the man smile.

Quote:
Piper nodded. "Kal with Nibal. Nibal get onto Kal for being bad."

Peri chuckled softly at his brother. "When I get done with my classes, I can help you move your stuff. Piper can help all day, she doesn't have school yet. And Nibal can keep Kal here so we won't have another... episode..." He glanced over at Kate as well.

Quote:
"Errr...." T'rin still wasn't sure he wanted his brother's to know where he lived but Peri had been... rather normal today.. almost like a human being rather than the spawn of Satan he usually was. "..Sure... Thanks...." Should he suggest a psych evaluation? Of course it could be the kids..

"Good." Kate nodded decisively. "Kate bite. Dragon no hurt Cassi." The chiuahua ignored the fact that Cassi wasn't exactly there to get hurt. After all, the dragon *might* hurt Cassi.

Quote:
"But... biting bad..." Piper was confused. Who was this freaking Cassi person??

Peri grinned. This form of torture was almost as much fun as the usual type!

Quote:
Kate narrowed her eyes. "Biting makes bad people go away," the girl countered.

T'rin carefully kept his eyes away from his brother as he undertook the greatest indignity of all (and Peri and Talner said he didn't have pride. Ha!), thanking his brother. "Uh... Thank you Peri... For.. you know.. Yeah..."

Quote:
"But... biting hurts a lot..." Piper frowned.

Peri glanced over at T'rin for a long moment. "Eh, Mom would kill me if I made you sleep on the street, you know..."

Quote:
Kate nodded. "Yup." Wasn't that point?

T'rin laughed weakly. "Yeah, I guess so."

MY SHINIES!

Kal was left alone in the house. Peri, Piper, and Nibal were all helping T'rin and Kate finish moving their stuff into their new apartment. Nibal liked the fact that his uncle was in the same complex and was not too far of a walk from their own apartment. Though his cousin scared him just a little bit... But with Kal still wanting to teach Kate a lesson, they'd had to leave the green in their apartment for the day.

Kalseru wasn't exactly happy about this. After sulking about the living room for a while, she debated shredding the pillows. But that'd just get her into trouble... She wandered into the kitchen to see if there was any food, but Peri was smarter than she was. All of the lower cabinets were locked shut with childproof locks. She debated trying to break them, but came up to the same conclusion as the pillows in the living room.

Bored, the young green dragon wandered about the apartment for a while. Since the silly man wasn't here, she could wander around his room. Her nostrils clamped shut as she entered the room. There were multiple pairs of boxers on the floor and the bathroom he had to himself was a mess. The seat was up and it looked as if he'd missed several times. The green quickly made her way out of the room and into Nibal's room.

She gave a sigh as she settled into the mess of blankets in one corner that was deemed to be her territory. She fished out the shiny that Nibal had given her. He'd put it on a chain, but it was almost too small to really fit her much anymore... which made her sad. She wanted more shinies...

Aha! Kalseru quickly got up and ran out the bedroom and into Piper's. The bird girl had lots of shinies! She wouldn't notice if they were gone... The little green searched the room and found the girl's jewelry box. Jackpot! Kal gathered as many of the bracelets and necklaces as she could before trotting happily back to Nibal's room to store her new shinies.

It wasn't much longer before three tired people returned home. Peri gave a sigh as he hit the airconditioned apartment and flopped onto the couch, tired. Nibal and Piper wandered off towards their own rooms to relax for a bit. However, Piper ran right back out of her room. "Daddy! My bracelets are gone!"

Peri slowly sat up, unhappy that his rest was cut so short. "Gone?"

"Yeah! My jewelry box is in the floor and it's almost empty!" She dragged her father into her room to show him. Peri wondered who would've stolen the girl's bracelets. They weren't worth much of anything, just cheap ones the girl had wanted. They were just shiny pieces of... wait..

Perilas turned and walked over into Nibal's room. "Kalseru." He addressed the green dragon, his tone warning the wyrmling to act innocent. "Did you take Piper's bracelets?"

The green acted offended. "Who me? I wouldn't!" She glanced over at her blue boy. "Tell him that I wouldn't!"

However, Peri was smarter than that. "Up, Kalseru!" He jerked his thumb, gesturing to the hatchling that he was going to inspect her area, regardless of what she was saying. Grumpily, the green got up and made her way over to Nibal, who patted her head.

"Here they are, Piper." He pulled a handful of bracelets from the nest of blankets and handed them to his daughter. With a frown, he turned to the green dragonet. "Kal, you can't take Piper's things. They don't belong to you. They belong to Piper."

Kal whined and looked up at her boy. "I'm sure she didn't know, P'las..." Nibal told his father, not liking to see his dragon get upset like this. "She knows now, though. Isn't that right, Kal? You won't take Piper's stuff now, right?" The green nodded, hoping that her boy could get her out of trouble.

Peri sighed. Nibal thought that the green was much more innocent that the man believed. "Well, okay. But don't do it again, Kal." He was tired and didn't really have the heart to tell Nibal he felt the green had known exactly what she was doing.

Nibal grinned as his dad let Kal off the hook. "Hey, Kal. Next time we're at the mall, I'll buy you something so you will have things just like Piper!"

Perilas managed not to facepalm as he walked back into the living room to get that rest he really needed.

Dude looks like a lady
(Aftermath of Man, I feel like a Woman)

(Originally posted Oct 2, 200 cool

Nothing had happened the rest of the day after Peri had his little incident with Raven. He'd gone home and fixed dinner for his family, kept Kal from eating everything in the kitchen, and finally collapsed into bed for the night with a sigh. Oh how lonely his bed was, but with two children it was harder to sneak in lady friends. Plus, he tended to be exhausted more often.

Peri's alarm went off the next morning and, with a groan, he reached over and shut it off. Clad only in boxers, he stumbled to his bathroom to start getting ready for the day. Eyes that were blurred with sleep still peered into the mirror. It took him a few moments to realize just what he was seeing.

"I HAVE BOOBS! AWESOME!" He grinned, bouncing on the balls of his feet to make them jiggle in the mirror. "So cool!" With a smile, one hand reached down into his pants while the other caressed the new body parts. Unfortunately, the hand in the pants found... nothing.

"Waitaminute!" Peri quickly got out of his boxers and stared down. A rather girly scream then emitted. "I'M A GIRL!!!!!!" His manhood was... gone. And, now looking back in the mirror, his face was changed a bit as well. It was... softer in appearance. His legs were different, though still hairy. "AIIIEEEE~"

All of that screaming caused the other residents of the apartment to come to investigate. "What's wrong, P'las?" Nibal asked, poking his head into the bathroom. He blinked for a moment, then quickly covered his eyes. "Sorry, miss. Er... have you seen my dad?" The frog boy peered back into the bedroom, which was empty except for Kalseru and Piper, who were coming to see what was going on.

Peri didn't know how to respond to that. "Er, um... Nibal... I'm right here." Oh god, even his voice was feminine! He was going to kill that woman! "Uh, go get ready for school, okay?"

Nibal's jaw dropped. "Uh... P'las...?"

"Later, Nibal. Go... go get ready." Peri was staring at himself... no, wait, herself in the mirror. Oh god, was it bad when your own body turned you on? Granted it wasn't your USUAL body, but... it still wasn't good. And... wait, how did women 'fix' themselves. Man, being a man was much easier. Peri sighed.

Nibal motioned to Piper to leave. "What's wrong with Daddy?" Piper asked, heading to her room to get dressed.

"Daddy's... now... Mommy." Nibal answered, still shocked. Was that going to happen to him when he got older?

Piper's eyes went wide. "REALLY? I WANNA DO HER HAIR!" Her brother had to grab her to keep her from running into the bedroom again. He could hear the shower running now.

"Later, okay?" He glanced down and realized he hadn't put his gloves on. "Go wash off." He knew that Piper had had it drilled into her head to scrub after touching or being touched by Nibal's bare skin.

"I wanna go shopping with Mommy!" Piper was taking this rather well, more excited about the idea of having a mother than realizing that her parent was probably very confused now.

After the shower, Peri sighed and went over to where he, no she (drat this!), had a collection of bras. They'd been trophies... and now they were more helpful than ever. After all, being a woman for only a bit had already made Peri realize why women wore those blasted things. These things bouncing around when you walked was very strange.

It took a while to find one that fit properly. God, these things were confusing. There were so many different sizes... Finally one seemed to fit, though pink was NOT Peri's color. "I'm not wearing that, though." She'd found a matching thong to the bra. "No." Boxers worked just as well for women as men, right?

Now for clothes... Peri was now more narrow in the shoulders and had actual hips. "God, I'm going to have to buy some clothes..." A sigh came as Peri realized that Piper would love going shopping for that. More bras would be needed as well. Ones that were not pink and lacy.

Finally dressed, though the clothes did not exactly compliment Peri's new figure, Peri went to face her children. Both had already gotten dressed and Nibal had even managed to get them both breakfast, which they were finishing up.

Piper looked up as Peri came into the kitchen, grinning from ear to ear. "Hi Mommy!" She missed Peri wincing at that reminder of the new gender. "Can we go shopping?" Piper frowned at what Peri was wearing. "Mommy needs nicer clothes. Some pretty skirts and dresses!"

Oh god, no! Peri's look was one of horror. There was no way she'd be wearing that kind of stuff! "Er, how about some pants and nice tops?" Peri suggested, though Piper did not look too happy with that idea.

"Okay... but lots of pretty bracelets and necklaces! You have to look pretty!" Oh if only Piper knew how much this was hurting Peri, deep down.

"We'll go shopping, but you've both got school today and I've got to teach. After school, okay?" Peri winced at Piper's cheer and helped the two to clean the kitchen up from breakfast. Peri was not very hungry this morning for some reason...

As the family got ready to head out the door, something hit Peri. I should probably tell the Boss what happened... Which was accompanied by a groan. Alan would probably find this hilarious...

Shopping~
(Originally posted Jan 14, 2009)

Well, Peri had managed to delay the inevitable. She was shopping for new clothes. Piper had gone on and on about it until the woman had finally given in, but had managed to wait until after the holidays for when the mall wouldn't be packed. Plus, there'd be sales too.

"C'mon, Mommy!!" Piper was half-dragging her parent through the mall to all the shops with pretty clothes. Unfortunately several of those stores only sold clothes for children. Not that it made Piper upset, she just kept going.

"Let's just go to the department store," Peri stated for what seemed like the twentieth time. Like every other time, it made Piper scowl. Nibal sighed from behind the two females, upset that they'd had to leave Kalseru at home. She liked shopping... he'd just have to find a shiny thing for her.

Finally, after a few more stores, Peri managed to talk Piper into going to the department store. However, along the way, they found a store that made Peri blush as Piper spotted it and dragged the adult in. "Piper..." Peri protested as she was suddenly surrounded by mostly naked clothing models, displaying very lacy and pink undergarments. "Piper... no."

Unfortunately for Peri, one of the salesladies had already spotted them. "Hello ladies~" The rather cheery girl greeted them, peering around them to smile at Nibal, who was looking just as embarrassed as his parent at being in that store. "There's a toy store next door," she commented, glancing at Peri to make sure she wasn't overstepping the woman's rule. "Most little boys like to go there instead." She giggled.

Peri nearly gagged, but glanced back at Nibal. "You can go over there if you want. But stay there so I know where to find you." Suddenly she was looking at an empty space that had previously been occupied by her son. She couldn't help but smile. If she could, she'd be running right after him to escape.

"Oh good. Boys seem to be so bored in here." The ditsy saleslady grinned and motioned for Peri and Piper to follow her. "Hmm, young lady, would you like to look at some of our tops?" At Piper's excited grin, the saleswoman pointed out the section of the store and Piper disappeared, leaving Peri alone with the ditz.

"Now then. Let's get you measured!" The young woman practically cheered, motioning Peri back to some changing rooms and shooing her inside one. "Proper measuring ensures a proper fit! And we don't want to wear stuff that doesn't fit right!" She closed the curtain behind them. "I know this is kind of awkward, but just take off your shirt and you can face away if it makes you feel better."

Peri just stared at the blond woman for a while. Do what?! Women actually did this stuff?! The saleslady smiled. "You haven't been measured before, have you? Don't worry. You just keep your bra on and I just measure you real quick. Then we can go find you some pretty bras to wear."

Several moments later, a very red-faced Peri came out, followed by the saleswoman. "Okay! Let's go looking!" The blond woman started off through the racks. Peri was forced to walk quickly to keep up. By the time Peri caught up with the younger woman, the saleswoman had pulled out several very frilly bras.

"Er... I was hoping for something... less..." Peri attempted.

The saleslady flashed Peri a smile and pulled something else off the rack. "Frilly?" She finished, showing a very simple bra.

Peri nodded. "A few like that..."

-----

Later, Peri had to drag Piper away from the tops to check out, handing the pink bag to the girl to carry. "Let's go pick up Nibal and finish shopping..." The two paused at the toy store and found Nibal, who'd found a package of plastic bracelets that were made for dress-up but were very sparkly.

"Can I get these for Kal?" The boy pleaded and Peri agreed, though she ended up having to buy two since Piper had a fit over the bracelets. Finally, they were all heading to the department store. Peri was still embarrassed over what had happened at the last store, Piper was excited about her new bracelets, and Nibal was ready to go home already.

Peri led the kids over to the women's section, actively avoiding the children's section. She wandered about the sales racks, finding the clearance ones rather quickly and heading towards them. Piper was happily searching through the racks and pulling off several things. The girl shoved the clothes into Peri's arms. "Go try those on!"

The woman sighed, still regretting bringing Piper along. But the girl had been looking forward to this for some time. She headed back to the changing rooms and started to parade the outfits for her children. Nibal commented on one or two things, but stayed quiet for the most part.

Piper was having a blast. "Those don't match!" She scolded Peri on the latest outfit. "That top goes with the skirt."

"No skirts."

Piper pouted. "But skirts are pretty... and so are dresses!"

"No. No skirts. No dresses."

Piper sighed. "Those still don't match."

Peri shook her head and went to try on the next outfit while Piper went to look at the racks for more clothes.

------

Eventually, Peri managed to escape with several new outfits, new undergarments, and no sense of control over her new life. Piper was going on about Peri growing her hair out so that it could be braided and have beads put in it and so on.

Journal Entry: 05/29/09

I am going to KILL THAT WOMAN. I'm still a freaking woman! And Piper just LOVES this, of course. She keeps wanting me to grow my hair out... which I haven't bothered to get it cut and it has grown out some. But the way Piper talks, she wants me to grow it out to be really long.

Nibal is still confused about this whole thing. I think he still fears being turned into a girl himself one day... even though I've told him repeatedly that it isn't normal and that I was cursed. Of course, I left out the fact that I was cursed by one of his teachers... He would refuse to have classes again.

Speaking of classes, Nibal continues to bug me about getting to take some of my advanced classes. I wish he could, but I have to make him wait just like the other kids. Plus, Kal is a bit young still to be doing some of the stuff for those classes.
