Scathe watched the blue one an a soft smile seemed to inch its way onto her face. Her resolve was melting away, her drea to finally find someone like her was true... even if the blue mare be the only one like her she would ever find. She wasnt truely alone anymore.
Her tail flicked softly and she gazed out over the cliffs. The blue one seemed more optomistic than she had been, but different life experiances shaped others differently, She didnt fully trust Saphira, but she could feel the light caress of a growing bond between the two of them. It went beyond the fact that she thought if this progressed she may one day call saphira a friend. It was like... finally finding a lost family.
"Let us take to the sky then." She said, and with sudden aglity and speed she raced towards the edge of the cliff passing Saphira in a blurr as she tucked her wings and dove.
Bliss.
The wind scraped against her face as she closed her eyes, the ground rushing up at her. Tucking her feet she finally extended her wings and leveled out, a laugh escaping her as she looked up towards the cliff overhang.

Saphira laughed to herself and quickly followed the female, and launched herself in to the air. It was always her favorite rush, and as she undid her wings, she stretched her body in a comfortable happiness. The air felt refreshing, and for a moment she actually felt alive again.
Even though flying was very common for many, Saphira found it to be remarkable everytime she hit the air. It was comforting, and yet exhilarating at the same time. It truly was the perfect mix of feelings.
After doing a few semi circles, and allowing her body to float about, she caught up next to the female, and flapped her wings comfortably. "If we travel back the way I came, there is a wonderful waterfall to be seen. I only saw it briefly, so I would love to show you if you'd like!"
With her usual warm smile, she moved up in front of where Scathe was waiting, and signaled what way they would have to travel.

Scathe smiled as she felt the wind against her face and the strain of her wings as she leveled herself out in the sky. The blue female had made her way from the ledge to join her, flying slightly higher than she was.
Looking up to the blue one Scathe smiled. "That sounds lovely, I think I have seen it in passing but I havent stopped to see it from the ground. I think I could use a bath." She said with a laugh as she tucked her wings and dove towards the ground again.
Her hooves danced over tree tops as she ziged and zagged through the tall trees of the forest. She was playing, and for the first time she could really remember she was having fun. Animals ran in all direction as the racket she caused sent them scattering for safty in the thicket.

Saphira could tell that the female had lightened up, and she was happy to see that her friend was comfortable with her presence. She also was having a wonderful time, and she was thankful for the enthusiasm that Scathe showed towards staying with her!
She giggled as she watched Scathe lower herself, and started to follow her from a higher altitude. They were almost at the sight, so she allowed Scathe to enjoy herself freely among the trees.
Saphira could see from her higher altitude that they had made it to the destination quickly, which thanks to flying was always possible. "Ah, we are here!" she then said, with a happy laughter. She increased her speed and lowered herself on a rock, while observing the loud crashing of the waterfall.
She was still a few paces away, since she wanted to be able to hear herself speak without the waterfall being to loud! "This really is lovely, even more so from down here." She said, with bright eyes. Everything was cooler near the waterfall, and it was refreshing to feel the bits of water on the air.

Scathe tucked her winds early and feel to the ground with amazing speed. Her legs outsctreched caught herself and she placed herself into a canter. Running swiftly through the remaning trees before the waterfall came into View.
The crashing waves over the rocks and the sparkle of the water in the sunlight was truely beautiful, She regretted never stopping by here sooner but was glad that she could share this place with Saphira now.
"Its lovely here." She said at length as she felt the cool mist wash over her body from the waterfall. Water seemed to hang in the air around them, and cooled her down considerably from the flight.
Scathe eyed the pool of water with intrest, it was so clear you could see the bottom and the fish swimming with in its depths. The mare placed one hoof in the water and finally another. The crystal water was cool to the touch but refreshing. With a wild grin the mare took a running leap into the water.

Now, Saphira had nothing against water, but she didn't go out of her way to swim in it.
Seeing Scathe crash into the water shocked Saphira, and as she continued to watch from a rock, she pondered what the heck she should do! Moving herself now closer to the waters edge, she sniffed it, and let the cold water hit her nose. It must have felt good on Scathes body.. and in am immature sense, Saphira was clueless for a moment on what to do! She had never taken a plunge like that into the water, and she was stopped mentally from the strangeness of it all.
Coming to somewhat of an agreement with herself, she put her two front legs in the water, and watched to see what Scathe was doing. She didn't realize the other mare liked water so much! It made her glad that she had brought her here.
"How does the water feel? This really is a wonderful area.." It was so far off into the landscape that not many knew much about it! "Its sort of a secret area, we may be one of the few to ever stop here." That in itself made it more exciting, and the blue mare giggled as she watched the waterfall dominate the ledge.

Scathe surfaced and kicked her legs out, the water was deep enough to cover her back but if she streched her legs out she could feel the larger rocks under her hooves. Though the water deepened further out she was content to stand where she was. She smiled and lightly closed her eyes for a moment to enjoy the cool water as he washed over his skin.
"It feels good, Nice and refreshing. " she said and she turned to look at Saphira. It wasnt that Scathe loved water, it was more that she hadnt really been in water for awhile and the oportunity for a nice bath was too much to pass up. All the dust from the moutains that the wind could not remove, tiny beads of grit being washed away by the force of the water.

Scathe looked so happy, that Saphira quickly shook her head and started to bring her own body into the water. Cold chills ran up her body, but in a moments time she was used to the refreshing feeling. "Well, I might as well join then!" she then said, with a playful expression. She wasn't the type to miss out on things, so she was glad she had entered the water finally.
She and Scathe were actually pretty quiet, in the sense that they weren't exchanging many words back and forth. It didn't really bother Saphira, and if anything she found it as more comforting.
"They days will be easier I think, now that I met you." she said, though with a calm expression. "I only mean, I am so thankful to find another like myself. I haven't had such a relaxing time in... quite awhile.." she couldn't help not being sentimental, and she glanced at the mare with cool eyes. "Now I will know that I am not completely alone in this world!"

It was true that they hadnt spoken aloud much of what they thought, but this in itself was a simple gift, one that people rarely recive after meeting someone for the first time. Its that quiet companionship that stills ones heart where words do not need to be spoken to feel conetentment. Scathe felt that with this blue mare. This blue mare that had scattered her persepctive of the world with but her very presance.
"Yes." she added after a moments quiet contemplation. "I do believe it will be easier... and now that you are here, I cannot believe that we are the only two." she turned to look at Saphira, whom was both alike and different than her at the same time.
The water lapped against her belly as she sighed a little, feeling its gentle caress across her tough hide. She was different, while others sported fur, her skin was tough and durable. Not to mention the spikes. "Its nice to not be alone..."

Saphira was deep in thought for a moment, but looking towards Scathe brought her attention back on the discussion at hand. "I suppose we should take a journey soon, that is if you are interested. I had been planning to search for others like us, but it might be nice to have company along the way." With her usual smile, she paddled through the water before resting in a shallow front. To have Scathe with her would make the entire situation that more enjoyable.
It was a question that was a bit blunt, and even though she still didn't know Scathe that well, she decided to take a risk with the approach. Maybe Saphira longed for a friend, or maybe she was an idiot to request such from someone so soon. But, if there was one thing Saphira was usually confident in, it was trusting herself and the decisions she would follow through in.
"So what do you say? I know it is a bit random but.. I suppose that's what makes life exiting." With a childish smile, she realized it had been so long since she had felt like a child again. No matter what happened after their discussion, Saphira knew she could walk away knowing she could see Scathe again.
Friendship was a wonderful thing, afterall!!
