Ul nodded, absently taking a lick of the ice cream she held in her hand. ACK. She coughed, looking a bit startled by the taste, "Definately not strawberry. He's certainly added a few new foods to the family diet. Though, he's still the only one that will eat a mealworm."

Teagan's smile widened and he pointed his free hand at his own pumpkin colored eyes, "Orange." He loved the color of his eyes, they were the same color as papayas almost! And papaya was so tasty and sweet, just not as sweet as sugar cane. Maybe momma had some sugar cane with her, maybe Karrrroko would like some sugar cane!

If you were to ask Noharu, she'd tell you ice cream was absolutely disgusting. She just wasn't a fan of that sweet stuff, and it was good for Karoko she generally wasn't either, because it was highly unlikely the guardian would go out of her way for something that wouldn't benefit her at all. "Mealworm, hm? Do they all eat that way?"

While she had been "daring" for Karoko circumstances today, the Eden was still far from brave enough to make eye contact with anyone. When Teagan pointed, she followed his hand until she realized what exactly he was aiming at. Then her own gaze fell, but lifted again when he spoke the word. "Orrrrange."

She shook her head, "I don't think so, they all seem to like different things. Teagan's going through a phase where he'll only eat waffles, chopped mango, and dried papaya, hopefully it's not too unhealthy for him. Either way I've been sneaking crushed vitamins into them, he doesn't seem to notice." She looked over at the girl curiously, "What all does she eat?"

"Orange" he repeated, nodding his head purposefully. It was a bit off that he hadn't noticed the smell of mango yet, but this Ka was more interesting than cold food. "Wanna see somethin?" he asked, tugging the bag over to his side.

"Dracula? Blueberries." That was really about it, from what she knew. Keyword being about. "She'll eat whatever someone offers her. I don't think she's liked any of it, but she's got this little problem with being a complete push over."

From what she herself as observed in her short time as a guardian, "Dracula" would mostly eat any offerings of food handed to her (which had so far been cake and candy) just to please someone.

Total push over.

"Orrrange." Since he repeated it, she assumed she should too. He said it so differently from her, though, was she doing something wrong? It didn't seem like it judging by the way he was acting. She nodded her head in response to his question, not just to make him happy but because she was generally interested. A rarity.

Teagan pulled what seemed like a rock out of the bag, but smiled, turning it around to show her the thing's 'face'. Truthfully, it was just a rock with a pair of glasses mysterious stuck to it, but he tended to talk to it when no one else would listen to him, "This is Dominick." Normally, he wouldn't have shown anyone the present, but maybe Karoko would like to talk to it instead of him.

That was...a rock. Even Karoko knew that word, but Teagan had called it "Dominick". Hm, interesting. It was to tough for her to say out loud, but she nodded yet again, this time to show she understood.

On the bright side, this "Dominick" wasn't scary. It just...sat there, and didn't move. The glasses were somewhat funny-looking to her, too. Reaching out hesitantly, she poked the stone curiously.

Getting no response, she suddenly seemed very confused. "Rrrrock?"

He nodded, "Yeah, Dominick's a rock, but he's a really good listener if you wanna talk to him." Alright, so it wasn't much better than say.. An imaginary friend, but an imaginary friend was a better listener than a busy mom, "Miss Mouse gave him to me."

Talk? She hadn't thought about it, but so far she hadn't said more than two words at a time. Mouse? Who was that? It sounded familiar, but she couldn't quite place it. Imaginary friends were another thing on the long list of thing she didn't understand. Taking a deep breath, she slowly offered the first sentence she could remember speaking, "Rrrock listen verrry well."

Teagan flicked his tail happily, "Yeah, Dominick listens well." Momma used to repeat things to teach them to him, maybe she just needed to be taught the name. "Wanna come out from under the table?"
PostPosted: Fri Jul 29, 2005 7:22 pm

"Do..nick..." That word proved to be even harder to say than she'd originally hthought for some reason. Maybe it was the 'M' or something that was preventing her from repeating the name correctly.

She was busy pondering such when the question reached her ears, which twitched thoughtfully. Out from under the table? She'd long forgotten they were still under it. Once she had gotten there, she didn't want to come out. Not because she was too afraid (not that she wasn't afraid at all anymore, it was still scary), but-

"Sun," she offered, pointing outside the shadow the table provided with a frown. It wasn't that she'd turn to dust if she stepped out in it, it just...bothered her.

He looked like he was concentrating for a moment, then nodded again, "Oh, ok, I could get momma to open an umbreller, and then you could come out without the sun bugging you. Would that help?"
PostPosted: Fri Jul 29, 2005 8:01 pm

"Umbrrrella?" There was another new word. It seemed Karoko's spirit hadn't emerged from the prison that was a flowerpot with much (if any) common knowledge. Anything she knew now, she'd had to learn since she arrived. Most of it was just from listening to Noharu yell. Silly Mommy.

Momma? That was the lady's name? Careful not to attract attention as she did so, she snuck a glance at this one called "Momma" before shaking her head a few times. She was scary. And big. Big and scary.

Besides, the sun wasn't THAT bad...right?

He pouted, "It's not scary, here, I'll show you." Scuttling out from under the table as quietly as possible, he pulled a little travel umbrella out of the bag. With a bit of a brain storm, he turned away from her while he opened it, then crawled back toward the table with it open, "See? Shade, no sun."

Hm, clever. This loud, hyper boy with a fuzzy-tail was smart. For now, that's what she'd call him. She couldn't really remember if he'd told her his name or not, but even so it wouldn't have mattered, she always forgot. Karoko was not good with names. Infact, she could barely remember her real one with Noharu calling her "Dracula" all the time.

With the newly provided shade, she seemed welcoming enough of the idea of leaving the safety that was the shadow of the table. Clapping her hands together once approvingly, though her nervous voice and posture didn't change, she repeated, "Shade.", and nodded.

With a little smile he offered her his hand to help her out from under there, "Don''t worry, it''s not gonna disappear." Maybe she''d be a little less scared out in the open, and she could meet Momma, and he could have ice cream!
