"And perhaps did you chance to reason that I haven't always acted like this?" She snorted, her own temper growing ever more hotter with anger. "Perhaps it was something else that created the bitter mare you see today. But whatever could have done that, I wonder! Maybe... I don't know... a couple Merlocks with too much time on their hands? Too amused by a Kelpi with no fins to keep away?"
She turned her back to the stallion, casting her eyes upon the shells on the ground in front of her. "Your kind disgusts me. You're supposed to be respectful of others, guard those weaker than yourself... and all you do is stand and watch. That's all you're ever good for. Who was there to stop Calanda from the Leviathan, when she needed you Knights the most? NO ONE. Who was there for ME, when I was blamed for her death? NO ONE. Sold like property to some foolish Merlocks, beaten and used worse than any common land horse. You Knights mean absolutely nothing to me, and at this point, I could care less if you took my eye out. Your kind has already torn out my heart, so why not go for some more organs, hm?"

Angathi was... shocked.... shocked beyond anything words could describe. His own pain and heartache was pushed aside. He truly grew up caring about the Merlocks, Mers, and Kelpi.... and to hear that any of them had done such to one of their own was... astonishing. If this mare hadn't been standing right in front of him... telling him these things with such passion, well, he wouldn't have believed it.
The Knight was so shocked, especially with the idea of a Kelpi sold and beaten.... that he lost his footing, and with the mare's back turned he very ungracefully fell and cracked his head on the rock he was so recently standing upon. The sound of skull on boulder, and then a large crash of shallow water was the only sound Angathi made in response to the mare.
As for Angathi himself, for the time beind he was unconscious from the blow. Before him, ever so quickly, the death of his Knight Mishos flashed before him, but was changed as well. It wasn't a shark that killed the Merlock, but a large Leviathan. It was not a small group of foolish Kelpi Knights-in-Training that they strove to protect, but a little Merlock child.... and in the end, only Angathi lived to live after them all.... and a mare was blamed for the whole thing, to live with her own burden.
It was just a moment, but it felt like a lifetime. When the Knight regained his mind, he was in the water - bloodied from the now rather nasty cut on his head. Angathi still could say nothing. It was a combination of the shocking news the mare had to tell and the result of seeing stars from his fall. The Knight stayed put, he needed to gather his wits around him - or whatever wits were left.

She heard a loud noise and turned to tell the Kelpi stallion off once again in her commonly rude tone, but her eyes widened as she watched the blue and white stallion slowly sink down to the ocean floor.
Was this another training tactic of the Knights?
She stared at him, suspicion in her eyes as she carefully approached where he lay. Then, almost like a large ribbon dancing in the current, a long red stream seemed to swim up from the kelpi.
Was that... could it be... BLOOD?
Pakpao stood there, stunned, not knowing what to do next. Should she try to move him? But that would further hurt the injury, wouldn't it?! Should she call for help? Go find help? She didn't even know the stallion's NAME for goodness sakes!
A cold chill ran down her spine as she realized how much blood was coming from the stallion. There were things out in the water that could smell blood from miles away... what are the chances something would be near their area?
"C'mon... get up!" she pleaded, leaning over to get a better look at the stallion, "Please don't be hurt..... oh, gahh... what do I dooo?!"

Angathi finally moved further. He turned to the mare, his dazed eyes looking past her. His brow furrowed, trying to think about what happened, and... who was this kelpi mare before him? And who's.... Oh, that was his blood.
The Knight looked around, but red clouded his vision. He couldn't see an injury, so maybe it was on his head. Pity.
He moved towards her, "Wve mussst leafve." Angathi's voice was slurred, having a hard time concentrating on words as well the situation.
The Kelpi struggled to his feet, and swayed in the water's current. They had to move, something would be attracted by the blood. Why was there so much blood?
In very disjointed motions, Angathi swam from the spot. His head was low and felt heavy. He remembered then what the mare had said, and swung his sore head in her direction once more, "Yjou didth fthisss? Fwhy?"
The Knight wasn't looking where he was going and swam right into the boulder, or small "mountain" was more like it. Thankfull he was swimming slow. Everything was in slow motion as his movement stopped. Angathi looked back to it and was just confused. "Ow." Could they get around this?

She panicked.
What in the world was she supposed to do?! This cloud... it was getting bigger, and getting bigger QUICK.
"I didn't do that do you, you did it to your own stupid self!" She hissed quickly, taking a step forward to examine him better. She didn't know the first thing about healing wounds, but if they didn't find their distance from the cloud and stop his bleeding, they were in trouble.
"We need... to get you out of the water." She thought aloud, wondering if that was indeed the best action to take. She'd ask him, since he apparently had the training of a Knight, after all, but he seemed rather... out of it.
Coming between the boulder and him, Pakpao tilted herself in a position to where she could help support him up. It was the last thing she wanted to be doing, helping this Knight, but she felt partially responsible for his accident, since he had been talking to her when he made his only clumsy mistake. And it wasn't like he was an actual Merlock... right?

Angathi swam back, just a little. He needed to inspect this giant piece of rock and find a way to circumnavigate around it.
The startled Knight was having troubles. When the mare had said she hadn't in fact done this to him, he couldn't help but give her a confused look. "Nmot chyou? Iee thdon't 'memvber."
She seemed to have an idea what to do, that's good because he was still seeing starfish, and could hardly think of things. His instincts told him to get away from the blood, just get away from it and now.
And then there she was, right by him, supporting his weight. He appreciated the effort, and allowed her to help him as they swam somewhere else. "Dyoo Iee knoow schyou?"
He tried not to speak much, it was too much. With each word, he felt worse.

Oh, this was turning out to be a rather dreadful situation.
Pakpao grunted as the large weight of the stallion fell upon her. She hadn't been used to pulling heavy things, so this new addition to her own weight was a strain on her legs.
What was she going to do?! What could she do to make this stop?
All at once, she spotted a patch of kelp, their long strands swaying ever so gently with the current. It gave her an idea.
"Stay here!" she ordered him firmly, removing herself from underneath him. If he was going to fall, he'd fall. Either way, this was the first idea to come to her mind, and she was going to take it.
Trotting over to the plants, she leaned down and yanked up one of the thicker strands, attempting to get it from the root. Turning around, she made her way back to the Kelpi stallion, hoping he wouldn't struggle with her new plan. If she could get it patched up, the blood would stop.... right?

Oh... she left... and still hadn't offered him her name. Though, the Kelpi wasn't sure he'd remember it anyways. His head hurt so much, and he was getting tired; so tired.
When the female swam off, Angathi settled to the ground of the Sea. He curled up around himself, his tail covering his nose like a fox (even though he didn't know what a fox was). Slowly, ever so slowly, the Knight closed his eyes.
If only he could rest for a little while, he'd feel so much better.
---------
Further away, a sea creature wallowed in the expanded cloud of blood that Angathi had originally left behind. It was lazy, and rolled in the cloud, making sure to get a scent of the one that left it behind. Satisfied, is followed the lingering trail.
