Cualtzin looked slightly shocked. "Well, You did a good race then!" He replied instead. Not really sure how her childhood was. He always ran then. Raced anything and everything. Water continued to drip out of his once curly tail, now it was almost as straight as possible "It was a good race" He said with a nod.
Haidar couldn't contain himself with laughter. Her first race? She had to be kidding, what was she new? "I'm sure you had may raced before, your just pulling his leg." He said with a smirk.

Shiori glanced at Haidar, trying to take in what he had said. Was that a compliment or not? She really couldn't tell, so she just decided to smile widly and hope that would suffice. Whether she was making a fool of herself or not, she wasn't sure, but hoped she wasn't acting silly.
"Why thanks!" she replied to Cualtzin. That was the first time a stallion had praised her. It made her feel warm inside, like Cualtzin could've been her long generation lost brother. The thought made her giggle a little. Nah, they were just becoming great friends. "Would you like to go into the sun and dry a little?" she asked him.

Haidar figured it was true, since she didn't say anything to his response. He shrugged it off and just watched the two for a moment. They were kind of rather boring for him right now. Though, he wasn't one to wonder off on his own.
Cualtzin glanced at Haidar and just shrugged. Turning his attention back to Shiori. "No problem!" He laughed and continued to smile. "Why, that sounds like a good thing. I think we both need to dry off alittle. Wouldn't want to catch something!"

Shiori giggled delightedly. "Ok!" she exclaimed. The two walked over to a place where the sand was just beginning to thin a little. Shiori dropped herself to the ground, falling like a ripe plum onto the sand. It felt pleasantly warm on her wet skin. Giving a sigh of relief, she closed her eyes and relaxed for a moment.
She looked over at Cualtzin, who was not far behind. She realized they had a lot in common, just like brother and sister. Maybe he was her brother? No way! She thought to herself, that wasn't possible. Her parents would've told her then, wouldn't they? Well, even so, they could pretend they were siblings!

Cualtzin made his happy way towards where the mare had found a nice spot in the soft dry sand. Well, it did look like an excellent place to sit, she was good at choosing a spot. "Well, this is lovely!" he said as he saw some flowers close by. He couldn't help but admire them. Their white leaves curled. He would have guessed they were lilies.
The son hit him rather well, mostly because of his black and gray fur. It made it easy for him to dry off. "I say, I think I'm almost dry. Apart from my hair. How about you? He said as he took a seat a crossed from where she did.
Haidar made his way to where the two where, but he didn't exactly go near them. Sniffing around the crab grass, and other plants that were about, they seemed like a nice place to go to the bathroom. He made sure the the two couldn't see him while he did his business.

Shiori quietly waited for Cualtzin to come sit beside her. She was lost in her thoughts. She heard thing mumble a few words, and Haidar scurrying off somewhere, leaving them alone. She nodded at whatever Cualtzin was talking about and listened carefully to the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea. She felt her mind blur a little, and she felt extremely calm and serene.
She knew that she could trust Cualtzin, after all he was a very nice stallion that would surely not leave her alone if she fell asleep. Even with the thought, whe felt her mind leave her body, slowly but surely. She knew she was almost asleep, but didn't even try to wake herself up. Then, her mind went blank. She no longer heard any sound or smelt any smell. She was asleep.

Cualtzin didn't know what to do seeing as the mare had fallen asleep. Surely he couldn't leave. He yawned as he was now sitting by her. She really made him feel tired falling asleep like that. It didn't take long before Cualtzin's eye lids began to feel very heavy. So heavy that he had to close them. Drifting off to sleep, forgetting he was on the beach.

Shiori's thoughts wandered far from the beach they were at. She grew her own wings she had loathed so very much, and was flying high in the clouds where no one could stop her. She flew and flew higher and higher as eventually she reached a place where she could gaze at the world beneath her, a place above the highest cloud. She perched onto one of the fluffy white voids of nothingness, and dangled her front hooves off the edge as she flapped her wings, causing the fluff of the clouds to fly in the air like butterflies.
She looked down at the world. She could see small antlike figures which she figured were more Soquili. They were grazing in the grass, racing each other, discussing, just taking a walk, fighting, teaching their children how to fend for themselves, and many other things Soquili do. They were completely unaware of Shiori looking over them, and that she had magically grown her own wings.
