Ed breathed a sigh of relief as the crab fell from his paw and onto the sand, stunned once more. A little white puff of air appearing as he did so. He then blinked and looked up as Lily licked his paw.. appreciating the gesture.. although what happened next seemed to stupefy the alchemist. Forget the spells, Lily's temper did the trick well enough!
Ed stared, eyes round as saucers as his mate-to-be essentially chewed out Ronan. Although inwardly, he was rather enjoying it and glad it wasn't directed at himself.
But wait.... first things first. Slowly Ed's head turned to look down and leer at the crab that had dared seize his paw. A clap and a spark of energy and Ed's automail was lengthened into a blade.
Crab's perspective: A dark shadow descended upon the crab as Ed's looming form blocked out the sun. A wide, maniacle grin spread across the maw of the Kitsusagi. The blade held up with the sunlight glinting off it.
The crab was somewhat aware for it seemed to emit a little 'eep!' at the scary sight.
THOCK! The blade impaled the crab like a spear, effectively killing it. Revenge is his!

The grin was wiped from the male adult's face, leaving him with an expressionless maw. With no pupils, it was difficult to tell if he was glaring, or even bemused by the petite female's ranting. He just sat there quietly, letting the girl speak her mind. All he had heard of this kitsu was that she was a studious bookworm, so this turn of events was a strange surprise. His body, however, tensed slightly at the mention of Ginny and his tails lost all flicker. For once, he was quiet. There were no words he could say without sounding rude; that's just how he was. Nor would the young female find any understanding in his words. So, all he did was give a quick bow of a nod, before turning to return to the palms.
Was that really Lily? Ears pinned as Setsumi watched on in stunned surprise. To see the red girl filled with such loud anger, it was something she was unfamiliar with. Her eyes slid down to the sand as she felt Ronan's presence leave, and her throat tightened. She...felt dissappointment in the core of her being. Something another visit to the waves wouldn't dislodge. Of course, she should have seen this coming, just not this soon. A little cry was heard, and her eyes drifted slowly to the impalled crab. Her appetite was lost.

A look of 'what the hell is wrong with me' crossed the young adult's face. Part of her wanted to giggle at Ed's 'revenge' on the crab, part of her felt she should go after the nearly blind male. To apologize or something. Liliana shook softly, her brown wings falling to her sides. It was no longer the quake of fury from before. It was that of someone facing far too much of something within herself that had been ignored for so long. Her time coming to grips with feelings had not covered the full range.
She gave a small choked whimper. Breakfast was not supposed to be like this. Morning was not supposed to be like this. Liliana did not need to feel Setsumi's disappointment. She was disappointed in herself. Her ears fell.
No question... Liliana had to apologize.
Half forcing a smile she lightly touched her nose to Ed's. The half was to make it shine beyond the base smile for his neat dispatch of the crab & beyond this odd feeling in her gut for losing her temper. A temper she really was not accustomed to having. "Eat up, Edward. Save a coconut for me though, okay?" Tenderly she kissed his ear.
Then turning her smile faltered, a look of apology being cast to Setsumi. She had tried so hard in finding breakfast.... maybe she should have stayed home.
Lily sighed, padding with purpose after the colorful male to the palms. Maybe she should leave it like this... hope it blew over but she could not. She did not go all the way toward him when he came into view, pausing perhaps two kitsu lengths away & sitting down. "Ronan...."
A heavy sigh. "Ronan, I... I'm sorry. I... don't know what came over me. It happened so fast... " Her head slumped against her chest, wings and tails curling around her body. "I shouldn't have said that. I'm sorry."

Once the crab was dispatched, Edward turned his attention back to what was going on. Transmuting his automail back to normal and folding his ears back. Lilianna has been rather high strung lately, but then... all this traveling and such, it was all very new to her.
He wasn't sure what to think. He appreciated Lily sticking up for him.... and he didn't always -like- Ronan, but he did respect him. Now that he thought about it, he wondered if all that yelling had really been nessecary. Of course, he probably would have done the same thing, even though it was just a stupid crab.
When Lily approached and touched noses with him, he blinked and looked into her eyes eyes before nodding after she'd kissed his ear, using a paw to draw her into a quick hug. "Alright..." and then let her go. Watching as she padded off after Ronan.
A look was given in Setsumi's direction, not sure what to say or do. So he just started eating quietly. Paws working comicly with the crab that now had a hole in its middle... trying to figure it out. "How do you even eat one of these?" he muttered.

Damn coconut, open. Ronan had his striped back facing all else, only the palms before him. And the one coconut he was currently drilling one claw nail into. His senses gave him a faint nudging, before a voice made him tilt his head over a shoulder. Eh? Her choice of words and reason made him blink quietly to himself, one brow raising. "What are you apologizing for? You don't apologize for things you were right about." Eyes flicked back to the coconut, pleased to see the drilling was almost done, before he looked back to the red femme. "And I won't lie to you. Using a statement from someone I consider a first friend, that's a low blow." Not something he expected from the kitsu raised with manners. But, a smirk cracked his face to reassure her that all was fine. "Pft, don't worry about it. Just go enjoy breakfast."
"Goodness Ed, you make me wonder sometimes." Setsumi lifted herself up and closed the distance between the two, saving the dead crab from his curious prodding. She turned it about in her paws, before hooking her claws in the fresh hole. With the other gripping the top shell, she pulled apart the bottom in two halves. There, nice and fresh. She handed the food back to Ed like a platter framed with red sticks of legs. Eyes glanced back to the palms to see how that was going, not that she had plans to move about.

"oh!" Liliana looked aghast, paling beneath her crimson fur. "I hadn't meant it like that at all. Only that all I knew about you before now came from her. She was right... I just wasn't thinking. How you joked when you yourself were hurt..."
She was not leaving just yet, though Ronan had told her to go. "But it's not about being right or wrong. It was rude and inconsiderate of me, especially after how nice you've been letting me tag along when I know I must be a burden & I'm pretty certain it wasn't your first choice to have us along at all." Green eyes crossed the distance between them & Lily smiled shakily at his smirk. "I... guess I've a temper. I'll... have to work on that. Don't want to do that again."
Her crimson chest shook behind the alchemy pendant around her neck in her silent and nervous chuckle. She stood slowly, seeming to feel a smidgen better from Ronan's smirking reassurance. "I'll go." Lily wanted nothing more at that moment than to run to Edward's side and curl into him, burying her shame of herself with her head beneath his coat. But she did not deserve such a comfort. Not right now. Turning Lily started to walk back, then looked over her shoulder. "Will you come too? I'd... like you to."

Edward made a face at Setsumi, but did seem grateful when she opened up the crab. He peered at it, "Not much meat, is there?" Well it was certainly better than nothing! "Thanks" he said, flashing his adoptive mother a grin before settling down and pulling the flesh out of the shell... doing so with the legs and pincers as well.
There wasn't much to the crab and he would be done with it before Lilianna returned. Once he had finished, he looked at the coconuts thoughtfully. A quick transmutation and a glass bowl was formed from the sand. A coconut was taken in paw and shook near his ear, hearing the juice inside. This he could deal with. Holding the coconut with his left paw, he used his automail to do a sort of karate chop on it over the bowl. The blunt force on just the right spot causing the nut to split effortlessly. Dumping the juice into the bowl. The two halves being set aside. This was done with each coconut in turn.

A long claw finally uncorked from the coconut, giving the access needed to the liquid inside. His set of eyes weren't the best, so Lily's paling went unnoticed. And though he had told her leave it be, she stubbornly stayed and began apologizing and carrying on about the why's and how's. As if it was customary for every conversation. Ronan chuckled lightly, amused by the honesty of the sheltered, young lady. "Everyone comes with a temper, just use it wisely." He raised a brow and nodded off in the direction of the others. "That's exactly what I'm putting the fullmetal through; nothing at all to do with 'macho'." Though that was a funny option, perhaps tucked away deep down and unseen. And he turned his eyes to Lily with a straight face, as if trying to will her to understand...why. He didn't care who tagged along, that was fine and a chance of growth for those two. But for others.... But he broke that gaze, shaking his head to himself with a smirk. The sand shifted as Lily stood, and to her question, he only grinned wider. "Sure, race ya." And he snatched the coconut in his jaws before skidding a turn and darting passed the winged kitsu.
Setsumi sat back, watching the crab shell be tossed aside as Ed scavenged about the coconuts. She leaned forward at the crackling sound of alchemy, in awe at the crystal clear bowl formed. Her paws sinked into the sand as they moved forward, her body then lounging flat on the ground. A yawn did escape her as she watched Ed move about like a cook in a kitchen. Heh, cheater. She smirked and closed her eyes, just listening to the waves, thud, and pouring juice.

For Lily, one could say it was customary to explain too far or too much. She needed answers, reasons, for everything she did. Those answers helped her see why she had done something, see what she must do or how she might change things in herself -if such things were even possible. To her, it was only fair to share those deductions however minute with those she felt deserved or should know. In this case Ronan, the one wronged with her harsh words.
Her ears quirked at the chuckle, a small warmth filling the ache of self depreciation from her actions. Use her temper wisely? Was that possible? But she was given little time to think on that now, green eyes widening as she mentally reeled in the understanding that she had the evening venture wrong... he had been testing Edward? Training or teaching him in a way? The thought had never occurred to her. It... humbled Liliana and at the same time gave her newfound respect for the colorful male beyond that of an elder or even a family member's friend.
No surprise really that she was surprised as the male took a playful turn. Race? Liliana blinked, somehow not expecting that in the slightest though perhaps now she should have. A smile flashed on her face as color zoomed by her. Gold tipped paws floundered a moment on the sand as the petite female -practiced on the soft but firm footing of the grounds around her home- scurried to race after him. Once started her small crimson body ran with grace, brown wings pressed to her sides so they would not catch the wind and slow her. She would never be the swiftest on paw, but she was quick enough not to be left behind & even shorten the distance between them somewhat from the lead he had on her.
By the time they returned to the others Liliana was laughing, exhilarated from the thrill of running and more than a little breathless from the suddenness of it though she looked radiant & very much alive. Her green eyes sparkled & sought those of the others, again showing apology this time with an unspoken promise that she would do whatever she could not to repeat something like that. Then they settled only on Edward, warm & soft & loving & passionate, and perhaps a little bit of understanding.
Sticking her tongue out at Ronan who had reached the others before her Liliana flopped gracefully beside the fullmetal, her head dipping to lay lightly on his automail shoulder. "You had a head-start!" She glinted playfully, eyes laughing softly as she knew that he would have beaten her back anyway.

Bah.. he wasn't cheating, he was being resourceful! His automail arm just happened to be a lot more solid and stronger than his flesh one. Obviously, since it was made of steel. Although really, Edward was anything but a cook, although he did know quite a bit about survival. Edward cracked open the last coconut just as Lilianna and Ronan returned, looking up as he heard laughter. A soft smile on his face at Lily's lightened mood again.
With his beloved settling down beside him and resting against his shoulder, he seemed content. "Coconut?" he asked, handing her one of the halves. The flesh of the nut was far better than the juice, it would provide more sustinence. Although that glass bowl filled with the juice of the nuts was free to anyone that wanted some.

Well, to say the juice had stayed in the coconut would be too nice to be real. The bright male had white leaking trails down from his maw by the time he stopped back at the palm carpet. He dropped the round object from his mouth to take a breather, a dull thump heard as it fell into the sand. What better to heighten a mood than a rush of blood in a sprint? Eyes blinked at Lily's statment, as if such a fact was uncharacteristic. "Don't I always?" His maw turned to a toothy grin before his eyes peeked at Setsumi and gnawed on her ear tip. "No sleeping now."
One eyes opened at the chewing of her ear, glancing at the foods. So things went alright, it seemed. Her tails turned, as if awakened happily at this change. Now then...what to eat on? She leaned on her elbow, effectively moving out of reach of ear torture, and tilted her head in ponderance of the food. Definately not crab..... o_o

She crinkled her face at the larger male, not knowing what he thought. This whole adventure was uncharacteristic for the study-reared witch. "well yeah.. being more than a head bigger than me..." The crimson femme grumbled rather playfully, green eyes still dancing as she turned to nuzzle Edward with a happy little sound as if the grumble had never occurred. "Coconut's exactly what I wanted, Edward! Thank you!"
Then feeling a little warm -whether from her sprint or from where her body touched the alchemist Lily would not let herself think- she lapped gratefully from the milk caught in the crystal bowl (never once thinking or wondering where it came from, accustomed to magic) until she felt her throat cool. Then happily she started to eat the coconut meat from one of the cracked halves, tails flicking across the ground behind her.

Giving Lily a beaming grin, Edward handed her the coconut before taking a half for himself and carving the white flesh out of the shell and munching on it. Once he'd had his fill of the crab meat, coconut and juice and whatever else, the alchemist settled back. Waiting for the others are he quietly gazed towards the surging ocean. His tails laying across Lilianna's own.
A glance was given towards Setsumi, a little bit of a sheepish grin. He hoped he hadn't spoiled her appetite too much due to his antics with the crab.

A brow raised joyfully. "You calling me fat?" As if that would ever happen. Even so, wouldn't being bigger make him heavier, thus slowed down? Hmmm. He chuckled to himself, now that the ear was away from his teeth. Sitting back on his haunches, he popped his knuckles as he eyed the crabs remaining. "Now then, how far do you two plan to tag along? After the beach is the jungle; lovely place." Humid, bugs everywhere...who wouldn't love it? A crab was selected and dragged forward as he spoke, planning on deconstructing the shelled meal.
Setsumi raised a paw to her maw, hiding yet another yawn. Ugh, darn beach weather was too nice. Enough to lull back asleep to. A light breeze stirred her feathers, a gloss reflecting with morning glow and dew. Still on her tummy, she reached out with her paws and scooped a bowl towards her. A drink, at least. Much like a house cat, her tongue darted out to lap up the juice as she listened quietly to the others.

Lily paused in her eating to shoot Ronan a look of baffled confusion. "What? What's fat have to do with anything? You've longer legs than I do. Not that it matters. You've been running much longer than I have." She rolled her eyes -more at her own inability than anything else- pulling some berries to her and chewing on them. Lightly Lily moved her white and gold tails until they were weaving with the alchemist's. It was calming. And exciting. She was not very good at this 'joking' thing. Except maybe when it was just her & Edward alone. Liliana was not even very good at it with her brother Hemi, and they were very close.
Sighing she finished her berries, returned to her coconut, finished that and ate a few more berries. Perhaps the petite femme should not have finished the coconut half completely, for now she felt a little too drowsy from eating so much. Laying on her belly Lily settled against Ed a little more before looking to him, wondering how to answer Ronan's question. "I... don't know."
The jungle sounded interesting. Pictures of jungles were always beautiful. Besides, even if she went out of range of the communicators -and the family had yet to find the extent of that range- her father had insisted that he had a failsafe way of sending her a message were she needed at home. If Remus could reach her, she would be able to apparate home. Green eyes watched the side of Ed's face as he looked out over the ocean. She would go where he did. Always.
