Gotta Go My Own Way
((Yes this part of the story was written thanks to the help of the song.
Doesn't really include Seiji, but needs to be in here just because its important.))
Parking the car in front of the empty house Tinania slipped out looking over the home. A shiver ran down her spine as she pulls her jacket closer to her body. Looking down she smiles at Rose as well as Kaela. Both of her feather tailed cats mew up at her before they look towards the home.
Tinania didn't move at first, she just looked over the home. Images of her life here came back. The joy she had just moving in, the love as well as they happiness, that all was taken from her with the wind. Her companions that lived with her had long move back to their own homeland.
Bending down she picks up Rose and Kaela, carefully setting each cat on one shoulder "
I think I am finally ready to face this place." looking to Rose she smiles before she moves down the path. She only paused to look at the dirt where the motorcycle would be sitting. She paused when she thought she heard the sound of an engine roar in the distance. Her heart quicken before she realized it was to far off in the distances.
Turning way she pulls out her key turning the lock before she breaths in slowly. Closing her eyes she smiles as she hears the purring from her two companion. They were giving her the strength she needed to do this. Pushing the door open she just stands in the doorway looking inside the place she once called her home.
It was still the same since she last left the place. Everything was in its place. Stepping inside she looks around expecting to her laughter to come from Pae'il running down the stairs to greet her, following by a dragon just standing their smiling at her. His eyes beckoning her to him.
But none of it came, the silence remain as she removed her coat setting it on the side table by the door. Pushing her blond hair from her face she makes her way to the empty livingroom. Her mother told her she would help her get new items, just so she didn't have to deal with the heartache anymore.
But what scared her, was there wasn't any. Not anymore, not since she talked to Donovan. He had helped her in his own way realize she couldn't do this anymore. She couldn't wait for someone who wouldn't return. Running her fingers over the couch she smiles. The memories were suppose to make her cry, but they made her smile.
She knew she would always love Surion, but she knew that she had to move on. It would be what he wanted, he would have wanted her to be happy. Turning away from the living room, she moves towards the stairs that led to his lab.
Pushing the door open she chuckles as she see how it to hadn't changed, everything was still where it was only with dust on it. Closing her eyes she mumbled to herself, and within seconds the dust was gone. Turning away from the room she closed it then continue back up the stairs.
Bending down she sets Kaela and Rose on the ground allow them to look the place over for the last time. Standing back up she looks towards the stairs that would lead her upstairs. Placing her hand on the railing she stops.
"
Nani, are you sure you want to do this by yourself?" Rose mews her tail brushing the ground. She was worried for her friend, she had seen her at her worse through this all. So she didn't want to see her there again.
Tinania smiles then nods "
Yes I do Rose. I have to." turning away from the cat, she ascended the stair slowly. Her mind going back to Valentines Day when Surion learned to speak Elven just for her. The nights they spent here together in eachother arms.
Stopping at the top of the stairs she looks over the first room, it belong to the pae'il. She could even now hear Kaelin and Comos fighting as Anila cried. Shaking her head she runs a single finger over the door frame, she would never give up those memories of how she helped them all grow, then watched them move on themselves.
Closing the door to the room she moves down to the hall to the closed door. Placing her hand on the knob she breaths in slowly keeping her eyes closed. She knew she could face this, she had to.
Pushing the door open, she opens her eyes slowly just looking over the room. It to was still the same, right down to the pushed back sheet on the bed. Waking over to her altar she draws her finger over it remembering the countless hours she spent here trying to solve the curse.
When she would get to the point she would be in tears, Surion would pull her away and hold her in their bed. He was always their as her biggest support. He never gave up on her, not even after she forgot them all, he was the one person who was alway there.
As a single tear hit the altar she laughs as she lifts her hand to the choker around her neck. Unclasping it she set it there on the altar before she step away from it. The heart gleaming up at her, the one given to her after their very first fight. Trembling she shook her head, not allowing the feeling of that night get to her.
Looking over the room she walks to the bed pulling the sheets up to make the bed. She was always the one who kept the room clean, just because it made her feel like this was her home. That she could always come back to this place and just know someone would be waiting fo her.
But it wasn't the case, not anymore. This place was apart of her past, and now she just had to finish things up and let herself move on. Moving back to her altar she gathers all her books as well as her supplies setting them onto the bed.
Moving to the closet she opens it only to stop to look at her wedding dress. The one dress she would never get to wear, not now or ever. Pushing it away she grabs all her clothes moving them to the bed also. She only stopped when she looks down at the black button up shirt. The shirt her mother found the first time they were truely together.
Lifting it she hugs it close to her body for a moment before she sets in on the right pillow. She wouldn't take it, not with its memories. Moving back to her closet she pulls out her messager bag. She always kept this with her as a teenager. She had everything in it, her life was in it. Pulling her wand from her back pocket she waves it over all her clothes as well as her supplies.
Each item grew small until it was able to fit into her messager bag. Filling her bag with all the items she pulls the strap over her shoulder before place her wand back into her pocket. Looking over the room again she seem to hold her breath as she looks down at her rings.
The water crystal as well as the band with Surion's name engraved on it gleam up at her. Lifting the rings to her mouth she press a small kiss to them before slipping them off her finger. Walking over to the pillow with the shirt on it she smiles. The tears ran down her face slowly, but she didn't stop them. She had to allow them to show, she would be lying to herself if she said this didn't hurt.
Setting the rings down on the shirt she place her hand over them for a moment. Her hand was trembling, she knew the moment she moved her hand it would be final. She would no longer be a fiancee to anyone, she would be her own person again. Ready to strike out on her own and go after the dreams she set aside.
Letting out her breath she pulls her hand swallowing back the tears now "
Goodbye..." turning away from the bed she moves to the door. Glancing over her shoulder she coughs before she closed her eyes "
Goodbye Surion Rakamash." slipping out of the door she closes the door behind her before she moves down the stairs.
Kaela and Rose were waiting by the door just staring at her. Rubbing at her tears she kneels down allowing them to jump up onto her shoulders "
Come on, lets go home." petting each kitten she opens the door, grabs her jacket, then steps out of the door.
Giving it a final look over she locks the door as she closes it. Kneeling again she pushes the key under the crack of the door. She was done, she couldn't turn back now. Standing she walks down the steps to her car. Bending she allows both cats to jump into the passager seat before she stood back up straight.
Looking up at the home, she actually truely smiles before she wipes the final tear from her cheek "
I just gotta go my own way." walking around the car she slips into the driver seat before starting the engine.
Blowing a small kiss towards the house she looks back pulling out. Looking down at the cats she nods before heading down the street not looking back. She felt whole once again, this was something she had to do. She had to visit this place one more time to finally allow herself some peace.
Now she had her life back, and she would be herself. Just as she knew Surion would want from her. And if they crossed paths again, then she would deal with it then. For now, she had to go her own way.
