Lucas carried Seiji close to him in the carrier he'd managed to sling together out of some of his older clothes. Escaping Fair Haven, had been well, an adventure in and of itself. Shaking his head as he made his way through the trees, his animal companions close by, and the bear walking beside him unarmored, he felt calm and safe.

Just like old times.

He smiled and shook his head. "We're going to go see Mommy Seiji, we just gotta find her,"

His mind thought back to the circumstances that brought him hear, and he had to laugh.

He'd started first by giving Tinania a good half hour to get out of the area. He didn't know how fast that disk of hers could travel, but it looked like it made good time, so he assumed that a half hour would be more than enough. He gathered up his things, what few things that were important to him. What was left of Tinania and Seiji's things, and had walked out into the hall to look his father flat in the face.

"So your wife is gone then," Rikard had said, not bothering to hide his anger anymore.

"Yes, she's gone, and you won't find her no matter where you look. Seriously Rikard," Lucas would not call him father now, not after he'd figured out what the man had been planning. "Do you think your plan would really have worked? Don't you remember the stories of those women? She'll eat your soul father, and I believe it... Tinania's too... special for it to be otherwise."

Rikard laughed and shook his head. "Boy, even if the stories are true, your mother would protect me with her Fel Magics..."

Luca shook his head and sighed. "No Rikard, she won't. Not anymore. The minute you dropped her was the minute she stopped protecting you,"

"The boy is right you know," The deep voice of Lucas' mother spoke from the Shadows as she stepped out. "I would not protect you from them," She smiled at Lucas. "And Lucas can protect himself... Seeing as he really only has a soul because of you..."

Lucas growled and walked away from them. "You two enjoy yourselves, I'm leaving now, I have no reason to stay."

"Hah! Hardly!" Rikard growled, starting to follow his b*****d son down the hall. "I can still use you as a chip for the girl... and that child."

Lucas sighed, and slipping the carrier off his shoulders he placed Seiji down on the floor and covered his head with a blanket. "Sit still son, daddy has to take out the trash. No peaking or mommy will be mad okay?" He smiled to his son and then stood, turning on his father.

"Do you think I would let you lay hands on my son?" Lucas said, already feeling the small dagger he'd offered Nani slip into his palm. "Really? Are you that mad?" He smiled as he felt his blood run hot. He felt his mother's eyes on him, and knew she was smiling.

He wasn't going to give her what she wanted either.

"Well then, if you want him come and get him,"

His father started to cross the room, and when we reached within range, Lucas struck. All the while as his hand darted out, blade flashing in the light of the corridor's lamps, he wished he had his bow.

The blade of the dagger arced across Rikard's face, and the man recoiled, covering his eyes and shouting as the blood ran from between his them. "Why you b*****d!"

"Yes Rikard, I know..." Lucas threw the dagger into Rikard's cloak, pinning him in place as he picked up Seiji again and headed out. "Do not follow me, nor you mother, I will do the same. My connection to the both of you is over."

He looked over his shoulder, holding Seiji close to his chest. "I make my own path now."

With that, he left the two; Rikard fighting to stop the bleeding on his face and unpin his cloak. His mother standing there dumbstruck and unsure as to what had happened to her son.

It gave Lucas the time he needed to get the rest of their things loaded and to get out the gate.

Once he was outside of Fair Haven, he hit every back road he could, and had his animal companions leave false trails.

Now he was on foot to give his mount a break, and Seiji was napping. He just hoped he found what he was looking for soon. This area was new to him.

Lucas turned his eyes to look at the panther and chewed his cheek. "Well hello there," He said, his voice totally calm so as to not wake Seiji. Leaning his head down his kissed the boy's head, and gently placed his carrier on his mounts saddle so Seiji was out of the way and safe. He turned then, motioning for his mount to stop, and moved a step towards the panther. "Rose, do you know who this is?" He asked the feline as he watched the panther.

He didn't want to fight, but right now he would to protect Seiji. "Will she harm my son?" He asked, having kept himself between Seiji and the panther the entire time.

He didn't know who it was, and frankly it unnerved him. But Animals could smell fear, so his training took over and he was as calm as a still pond.

He would fight to protect his son.

Lucas kept all of his movements non threatening, this was his wife... girlfriend's family, and he wanted to make a good impression. "Yeah, Tinania is my wi...Girlfriend," Lucas said, catching himself mid word and forcing him to change it. He really had no need to lie to her family, and his was many miles behind him. "I'm watching over our...her...my... Our. Our Son," He said, turning to look at Seiji.

He returned his gaze to Mel, trying to keep his eyes on hers, trying to read her as well.

He didn't think he'd be able to take her in his condition.

Lucas bristled when the others touched Seiji, even going as far as to growl. But he resisted the urge to interfere, these people were safe, and he could trust them.

He hoped.

Shaking his head he allowed his thoughts to clear and he bowed his head to Mel. "Lead the way," He said, mounting the bear before taking Seiji back into his arms and holding him close.

Feeling the child close made him feel better. It was his son after all.

He kneed the bear into a walk, and he could hear the rest of the group off in the shadow's follow.

It was an interesting parade.

Lucas smiled and held his son close, trusting his mount to follow the two felines, he figured they knew where they were going, and if Rose trusted this white panther, well... He might as well too.

Shaking his head he kissed Seiji on the forehead, smiling a bit as he nuzzles the child. "We'll be seeing mommy soon son," He murmured, hugging the boy close.

It wouldn't be soon enough, for Lucas at any rate.

Lucas nodded and dismounted swiftly, holding Seji close as he got what was pertinent from his mount. Clicking his tongue he sent the bear off to the stables with the order to touch nothing. His other companions fanned out and sought refuge outside of the city, staying well out of range of the guards. Holding Seiji close he walked through the gate after Mel.

"Understandable," He nodded, looking around and trying to familiarize himself with the place. He did not feel comfortable here, but that was only because he felt like people were staring at him... because he was different, a stranger...

He was used to that.

Lucas turned his gaze to the woman, holding Seiji close, still protecting him even though he knew that it probably was on needed. Seiji was his SON, he loved the child as if he were his own, and right now he did not like being off guard. He did not know Mel, but the fact that Rose had followed her without question had vouched much for her. Bowing his head to her he finally allowed himself to relax and let his guard drop.

"This is a nice place," He said, testing the waters. He did not know how Mel felt about him, though he was sure his... condition was obvious. He tried his best to be amiable, but it was hard. He was at a disadvantage and he rankled at that.

Regardless, Tinania had sent them this way, she would not send them into a trap, so he had to trust Mel, he really had no other choice.
