"Be careful of my brother Dodger." He turned so he could snag a mouthful of grass. Chewing on it for a minuet he turned back to the other stallion. "He's bound to call ya something fer being small."

He could at least warn the other one just in case. It was doubtful that he'd run into Dodger since the blue stallion spent most of his time wandering around elsewhere but if he warned the other it was bound to happen. He was never one to pass up a chance to cause some sort of trouble.

The wing fluffing returned almost immediately, and Kal couldn't stop himself from lifting his head just a bit higher. So Sedi probably had been referring to his size earlier.

"I might grow some," the little stallion said in an attempt to cover for his being little. He was still very young, but he knew he was not young enough to count on more growth to save him.

"Ya look like ya filled out as much as yer gonna. Should just get over bein small and think about somethin else." He nodded in one of his more enlightened moments.

"After all, don't see me bein all upset that i attract trouble where eva i go." Or make trouble in the absences of anything else but that was a different story.

Kal dropped his head somewhat now that he had been called on his bluff. That was when he noticed something unusual, and unknowingly ended up taking Sedi's advice.

"Your hoof is glowing," he said with a surprised tone, dropping his head a little further so he could see it better.

He blinked and looked down at his hoof. Most people noticed his eyes first not the fact that one of his hooves was shinny. "Uh ... how'd ya manage to notice that first? Got it from my Dah, two of his do it."

At least one kid from all of Remy's children, and even his grand children, had something about them that glittered in a way that wasn't natural.

Kal shifted a bit, and scratched his foreleg with a back hoof. He had noticed the eyes, but the hoof was of much more interest to the small stallion. If he had a glowing hoof, it would be like carrying around a tiny two-legger fire wherever he went. Maybe he would have been able to sleep wherever he wanted if he had a hoof that glowed so reassuringly. His own hooves were shiny when the sun hit them, but it hardly mattered when there was no sun.

"Lucky, I guess," he said sheepishly, hoping the older stallion wouldn't suspect he was hiding things again.

He tossed his head back and laughed. "Sounds more like unobservant ta me. I mean that's one o those things ya gotta watch out fer."

He managed to stop laughing for a moment and looked down at Kal. "Yer not, like, slow er nothin are ya?"

Kal didn't see why he would have to watch out for others with glowing eyes, but instead of saying that out loud and possibly making his situation worse, he scowled up at the larger stallion. "I'm not slow, I'm perfectly normal."

Now would have been an awful time for him to be reminded that he was unusually small, but at least this stallion didn't know he was also unusually bad at flying, and had an unusual fear of the dark.

"Ya sure? I mean ya are kinda .... short. Could be a side affect?" He was just pushing it now but it was funny to see the little stallion scowl at him.

It was kinda like teasing the boys when they'd been younger or teasing Wadi. Spirits knew why Wadi liked him so much.

Kal's wings fluffed right up at the teasing. It was probably a very absurd sight, slightly ruffled feathers did give him an impression of being a little larger, but as it was they just looked overly fluffy. And they wouldn't have made his size comparable to the other stallion even if they hadn't looked silly.

"I'm just fine!" he snorted, and then turned to storm off in a huff. He didn't have to stand there and let a perfect stranger poke fun at him like that. The little stallion didn't look back once as he trotted right out of the field and into the woods nearby, where he immediately struck a low-hanging wasp's nest with his horn in his passing.

The first sting on his rump was a surprise, but the moment Kal realized there was actually a swarm of wasps literally on his tail it wasn't long before he freaked out and bolted. Sadly enough, the woods was no great place for a creature as large as him to go running around, so he ran right back out into the field and past Sedi as he tried to shake off the wasps.

He'd been well on his way to walking away and chocking the little blond thing up to nothing but he skidded back on his heels when said little thing came running back at him with some nasty things in trial.

He chomped at the few wasps that bothered to stick around him rather than follow Kal and as he saw the other stallion running he couldn't help but laugh.

That was just ..... pathetic in a horrible way. He should do something to help at least. "Aye! Run toward tha water!" He called out after the other stallion wondering if he'd even hear him.

Kal only caught the tail end of Sedi's shout, but it was enough to get the point across. He frantically scanned the area for water, and eventually caught sight of a still patch of water on the edge of the field that was little more than a muddy pond. Yet another sting made the little stallion's eyes tear up as he made straight towards the pond and splashed in until he was belly-deep. If the splashing hadn't discouraged the wasps, flopping down to submerge almost his entire body in the muddy water shook off the more stubborn insects when they realized trying to sting his horn was a bad idea.
