Degas smiled "I can only imagine the chaos this is all causing. I don't want to add to it and if you too are attending the meeting Crystal then I think I might distract you from your task. Not to mention, that there are many places that consider children to be a problem by being included." The scent turned to them again curious."So how did you become injured Qadir? If you don't mind me asking you."

"Fighting bad guys," the man said in a matter of fact voice, drawing himself up as if he were a proud father informing his children just how exactly the monster under their bed was defeated. His little glory moment only lasted so long however when he noticed a tug upon his parasol. Blinking those golden hues, he turned to look at Crystal, stubbornly refusing to give up his comfort item.
Not that she could possibly know how very much the man relied upon the parasol even when he wasn't in the glare of the sun. Something about it made him feel calmer when he was out during the day, like a child with their favorite stuffed animal in the middle of the night. The parasol would also keep him from having to do just what she was attempting to remove it for. Shaking hands was not Qadir's favorite past time and he actually avoided it when he could.
"You know Degas, if you'd like to meet the owner of the museum with us you're more than welcome to. It's not really a meeting, more of a little lunch to talk about where my pieces are headed and what exhibit they'll be representing. I'll be getting free tickets to many of the musuems they're going to and you're welcome to those tickets if you'd like. Most museums are closed during the dark anyway, and I've got more than enough junk at my place to turn it into my own museum!"

The hand behind the vampire's back gave a gentle poke at his answer to Degas, managing to keep her face mostly straight. The flower girl turned and snorted softly, scoffing at Qadir's refusal to relinquish his parasol, likely even guessing part of the reason for it. He was the most reluctant noble she'd ever met, and she adored him for it. Crystal's smile took a wry type of quirk before she shook her head, releasing the object in his hand and relaxing as she listened to the exchange.
Not being part of the conversation - or simply weary of trying to convince certain people that she liked their company, two of which were with her now - she simply looked between the two, her grey eyes attentive to each speaker.

The child bit his lip at the tempting offer. He liked the museum very much and culture was a terrible addiction of his. Despite his hesitation and worry it didn't take more then a moment for him to reply. "Sure! I'd love to come then!" He winced a little a little surprised at the amount of enthusiasm in his voice.

Qadir laughed at the boy's responce, before quieting and wriggling slightly away from the poke administered by Crystal. What was that for? Ok, so he didn't go into all the ugly details for the boy, but Qadir had been honest enough about the basics of his mission. "Then it will be an honor to have you with us Degas!"
Uncoiling his arm from around Crystal's waist, he offered his arm to her with a slight bow, acting all princelike, mostly to get a laugh out of her. "Unless you'd rather Deags was your lead?" he asked with a smile, looking over at Deags. Deciding that this would indeed be a good idea, he reached out to push her gently in the boy's direction before scooping up Degas' sketching supplies into the crook of his good arm. Even more of a barrier against the unpleasant hand shaking!

Crystal had enough sense not to look disgruntled at being pushed away, giving only another shake of her head, curled loops of hair bouncing around her shoulders. Offering an apologetic smile at Degas, she lamented, "I'm afraid I'm not quite a fit prize for such amazing company, but I shall do my best for you." She tilted her head, the smile turning warmer on her porcelain features. In truth, she knew Qadir's reasoning, but she'd still heckle him just a little. Steel-blue eyes only for the boy, she literally scuffed her toe and asked, "If you would honor me so, Degas?"
She extended a shy hand towards the green-haired boy, looking for all the world a young woman going on her first date, ducking her face and smiling out of the corner of her eyes. Crystal liked the mature boy, even if she felt a twinge of sadness that he was losing his childhood in his rush to be an adult, much as she had. They had a bit in common, the flower girl and the scent, and she hadn't wanted him to feel unwated. It was not a feeling she coveted herself.

"I- I um....Um...-Yes, that would be nice." Degas mumbled and blushed his reply unable to help himself from sounding embarrassed. He wiped his hand a little before taking hers into his. His nervousness showed in the stronger than usual scent of wormwood that flooded the air and the warm clamminess of his palm not from sweat but from oil seeping out from his palm. Unsure of himself, the young scent kept his head down and looked away towards the art.

The man only smiled as he watched the two before he gently gave them both a prod to continue. Their meeting was just at the end of the hall, and really nothing to be so formal about. Surprisingly, when the woman and child arrived with Qadir, the owner of the museum greated them as Qadir's wife and child. With a nervous laugh and a shake of his head, the vampire quickly corrected the other, introducing Crystal and Degas as good friends of him, even mentioning the boy's talent at art.
Lunch was an uneventful experience really, the beginning especially boring but at least quick as they discussed the donations. Then the conversation turned to Crystal, asking about what she did for a living and also questioning Degas about his art. Qadir disappeared into the background of the conversation, something he didn't mind at all for to his intense dislike there was an open window, uncovered and just pouring sunshine into the room. Qadir avoided getting right into the sunbeams, but the whole room seemed to reflect and glow as the pale coloured walls did little to keep the room vampire-welcoming.

Crystal squeezed the scent's hand encouragingly, more than pleased that he had agreed to go along with her. At the owner's misunderstanding, the poor girl managed to turn a flattering shade of pink, shaking her head and offering her own gentle words of how Degas was more of a young man and less of a child. She was a little surprised by the assumption, but said nothing more of it.
She sat between her two companions, on Qadir's right and Degas' left. Crystal was trying to keep a neutral expression as conversation turned to Degas and herself, not usually asked such a question and certainly not having a flashy answer in response. While ownership of the oldest flower ship in Cyrus City was impressive to some, it certainly wasn't something she expected to wow anyone with anytime soon. She talked about the opening of the cafe and how, surprisingly, such an addition had left her with less to do with all the new help. The flower girl was kind and to the point, smiling at Degas warmly when his turn came to answer.
The young woman was not, however, oblivious to the vampire and the conditions in the room. Her hands had been laced together on her lap for the majority of the discussion, but they moved as Degas was taking his turn. One moved to the right, giving Degas' arm an affectionate squeeze, and the other to Qadir's leg to give him a slightly more concerned one. Her stormy eyes shifted between the three men at the table, lingering on the vampire in case she needed to be a distraction so he could move or otherwise take his leave.

Degas seemed lost in thought after taking the hand of Qadir's lady and indeed the child had retracted himself some being in the presence of three adults who were awkardly gathered together for this meeting. The scent's breeding and life was hardly of any circumstance which made his presence 'odd' in most respects. He introduced himself politely by name but knew it meant little difference to the Owner who didn't know him yet. The scent worried about what kind of presence he gave to his audience and stared at his shoes.

When Qadir could take the sunlight no longer and noticed the withdrawn Degas and silent Crystal he finally decided it was time to make their leave. With a few polite words and a couple of handshakes Qadir excused the three of them and then hustled the other two out of the room with a deep sigh of happiness. "I bloody hate those things," he practically growled, losing his composure for a moment before straightening and giving a smile to Crystal and Degas.
"I'm afraid I think I really should be getting back. It's not wise for me to be out with my illness and injuries, especially if I'm tempting the light in the same breath. Miss Crystal, if you'd like to stay here with Degas please don't feel obligated to help me home as I'm quite sure I can make it on my own." He'd felt obligated to make such a statement as he'd invited her to help him in the first place and he'd not want to deprive her of talking with the boy she'd become friends with so long ago.
Whether Crystal came with him or not, Qadir lefted after saying good-bye to those that were remaining behind. The vampire desperately needed to get home.

The flower girl was more than a little surprised to see the vampire losing his cool, but given the situation, she really shouldn't have been. Listening to him rattle off the reasons she shouldn't accompany him home (and thus giving all the more reason that she should), she turned her steel gaze to Degas, looking him solemnly in the eye and addressing him as though she would Kyoko or May. "Degas, darling, I hope you wont think ill of me for leaving so suddenly on our ideal date." There was a soft curve to her smile that suggested she was, in fact, sad to leave him this way. "You know...Qadir, how stubborn he is. I can't let him just waltz down the street in his condition."
Crystal looked over her shoulder towards the vampire's quickly retreating back before shifting her attention once more to Degas. "If there's anything I can do, be it admire your artwork or chat the day away, please come visit my work. I'd like to see you again; it was nice to meet you...formally." She leaned down and gave the boy a sweet little kiss on his cheek before giving a friendly wave, starting off after Qadir at a brisk pace, curls bouncing in her wake.
Really, even the day time would never be the same for her again!
