"I suppose not all of us are as lucky," Yei responded, smiling as Glow provided her with the words she had been hoping for. It was nice to meet another mare who was modest but also smart to the point that she could hold an enjoyable conversation...particularly one that didn't involve the weather (though it was nice) or looks for the entire duration.

"I guess not everyone has the strength to find another soul that will show them love and compassion, or perhaps they simply cannot last long enough for them to be found," She pulled a face, one of pain and shook her head. The thought that there were those pained and in need of comfort within the world had always caused her troubled.

"Did you have a ceremony to commemorate your union?"

"No...Well we might, we haven't been mates long, but not yet. We had been talking about it as we walked to his home so i could meet his mother and his son, and then he asked me there...Then i hurt my leg when we were looking for a private place we could make into a kinda home away from home..." She said, blushing a bit. "He was so cute when he paniced, to be honest, but he was a sweetheart and nothing was really wrong...just a little sprain. My fault for jumping so high." she shook her head a bit.

"Would you mind me asking how you met your mate?" She asked lightly, not wanting to sound pushy if the mare didn't wish to tell her the info.

"Well..." How she had met her mate was a long and complicated story, one that spanned through the years and could rival any human tale in a heart beat. That being said, she was proud of her 'new' mate and all he had endured to be with her, so the concept of hiding the tale entirely wasn't something that she favoured.

"It's a rather long story, we were not always what you would call 'friends' but we used to be in the same herd together," She began slowly, her words tentative and thoughtful as she pieced each little segment together. "An accident separated me from my previous herd and I didn't see any signs of them for many years - to be entirely honest the accident caused me to forget who they were in the first place."

"...Then one day he just appeared, he didn't expect anything and found his own place to stay but all the while I couldn't figure out why I swore I knew him from somewhere." She smiled faintly and shook her head, "I am afraid I did not like winds a great deal when he arrived...he endured quite a lot of abuse due to my prejudices."

"Either way, at one point I heard he had been in a fight and the rumour floating about was that he was dead. During that time I'd been having so very strange dreams and I remembered who he was or rather where he came from and who he had been." Shuffling her hooves, she glanced briefly at the faintly glowing feathers on her hind quarters and smiled.

"We'd been friends as children, when I had fallen from the ledge I had forgotten who he was. I had always had the worst crush on him, with his fancy prance and bright wings...I'd always wanted to be able to fly like him and to feel the wind against my face. I guess that envy became warped and turned into a perverted form of hatred." She gave a loose shrug as she spoke and returned her gaze to the mare, a warm glimmer in her eyes as she recounted.

"I never got to say I was sorry for hurting him with my words, my friend suggested I yell into the wind and I did - turned out he wasn't as dead as we both thought he was." Her smile turned into a sheepish grin and she shook her head, "...And he said everything was okay, that he forgave me and that he was sorry too..."

"Our pairing is recent, almost unsure...we both want to take things slow. We have much to catch up on."

Glow listened patiently, nodding to show she was listening and paying attention. When the mare finished she blinked. "Wow. Your lucky, vary lucky. It would have been horrible to lose somone before you really had them, and to have lost them on bad terms." She said. "And lucky to be forgiven...everyone is lucky to be forgiven. Tho that sounds horrible, losing your memory of your herd...Tho, i mysellf, in fact, don't remember my herd, family, or anything at all really about where i came from or who i was...I jsut know who i am now, and that i have a home that is welcomign and a mate who is loving...And that is all that matters right? to be wanted, and loved."

"I was very fortunate," Yei agreed with a slight smile, "The spirits favoured me that day and it appears that my mate did as well." It was true, he had loved her through all her faults, had adored her even as she had declared her hatred for his kind. He'd always been there, smiled and presented himself when she required assistance and she had never said thank you - it nearly had been too late.

"I must admit I would never want to return to my old herd, I have a family and friends in these lands that I couldn't leave." She had a very large family actually, her blue eyes glazed over somewhat and she glanced briefly at her fiery pelt. They had been with her through everything and had supported her...to leave them now would be stupid.

"Like you, I am wanted and loved right here, that's all that matters..."

"A large family? How wonderful. Its a bit lonely at times at my home. Just me and my human. There is another mare, Nalani, that stops by from time to time. But she stays at Lita's friends home. At our home its just me and her...Which means i'm the one she fusses over." She shook her head a bit tho smiled happily. "I keep hoping another will show up to distract her attention a bit so she doesn't worry over me so much." She shruged. "But humans are a bit strange, worring over such odd things....She finally let up when she first met Jazz. I think she knew before we did taht we'd be together....also somthing weird about humans." Glow said, almost talking to herself. She blinked, realizing she might have come across as rude, talking to herself when she had a guest right accorss from her. "Sorry" She said lightly, "I got distracted." She smiled a bit sheepishly.

"My human is a little of a loner, he prefers to live on his own so he understands how important freedom is to me," She was fond of Achak, he had taken care of her for many years and they shared a unique bond - but that did not mean she wished to be permanently attached to his teepee. For that reason, she and her family both adopted and genetic had chosen to find lands nearby their humans...but separate all the same.

"We have lands separate from our humans, that is where our herd stays. Our family and friends are welcome to join us that but most often it is our own hideaway." She mused, turning her gaze up toward the mountains and pausing for a short while.

"You see there, about half way up the mountains closest to the dark forest?" She pointed with her muzzle at the location, "There is grassland up there that my herd lives upon."

Glow followed the mare's pointing. "Way up there? I've never been to the mountains. Never had a reason too...Plus i like to stay by the river mostly...Tho...I kinda understand a seperate place. Me and Jazz have our own little home away from home which is nice. A hideaway for just us...well and any children we have in the future." She turned a bit pink.

"The mountains were where I was born," Her tone was matter of fact but held a faint fondness, she loved the peace that the mountain slopes provided. The privacy and the many hideaways that she could locate and enjoy were much appreciated...especially when she desire to be alone with her mate without fear of interruption.

"There are plenty of rivers up there, many flower fields and forests but it is much colder than down here." She motioned towards her coat which seemed to be a great deal thicker than Glow's, indicating that she frequented much cooler climates, however, at the mention of children Yei positively beamed!

"Oh, are you expecting?" She enquired enthusiastically.

Glow shook her head a bit sadly. "No...not yet at least." She said, still blushing lightly. "Tho i do hope...some day sooner rather then later. I love children. I have yet to accually see one around but i jsut love them...and i love the thought of being a mother." She said lightly.

"You've never met a foal?" This thought was rather surprising to the mare given that she had raised so many herself. Granted she and her mate hadn't sired them but she was their aunt and their teacher - they were instructed and taught the ways of her herd and grew up to become fine soquili. She was proud of every last one of them despite their odd quirks and sometimes questionable hobbies.

"Well, perhaps one day you should meet my great-niece, she was born just recently to my nephew who is rather...shocked to be a father." In truth his reaction had been amusing but Yei had to admit she was impressed by how he had taken his responsibilities even if something deeply troubled him on occasions - a lack of freedom perhaps? He had yet to tell her what it was.

"She would certainly keep you busy, rather clumsy whereas one of her sister's is exceptionally hyper an the other a little of a deep thinker from what I hear."

Glow shook her head. "I was supose to meet Jazz's son but...by the time we met again and i got to go to his house...his son had already grown into a fine stallion. A little closed but vary sweet none the less." She brightened a bit. "Really? That would be wonderful. It may sound a bit strange but i've jsut wanted to meet some foals, be around them...I just like them."

She smiled a bit at all the talk of foals, absolutly loving to be able to think and talk about them. "Would it be wrong of me to assume, from the information you've given, that you and your mate don't have any children?"

"My mate and I never had the chance," Yei confessed, a loose smile on her lips. While she deeply enjoyed their little rendezvous they had as of yet been unsuccessful in having foals of their own. That was not to say that they would achieve such a feat but as of yet the Spirits seemed to believe they weren't ready to have children of their own just now. Perhaps it was because both she and her mate were often in charge of taking care of other foals...perhaps it was their duty to raise them first.

"It is good to have practice though, you wouldn't want to be ill prepared or over worked because you weren't used to them!" She chirped enthusiastically before offering a light whicker. Well, she supposed if Glow didn't mind a little bit of a walk she could let her meet Honey - she wasn't that far away at all given it was her mate's turn to babysit.

"If you would like to meet her, she is by the lakes."

Glow nodded. "Yes, practice is always a godo thing." She smiled. "Tho i havent had any myself with children, Jazz has...and he has his family who are just so sweet and so helpful." She said. She blinked, "really? that would be fantastic"

Providing Glow with a pleasant nod the mare took the opportunity to drift towards the lakes. Well aware of where each and every thing lay in the Kawani her journey wasn't a long one and it was as she rounded the hills and moved towards the lakes in question that two forms could be seen. One was the petite white foal and by her side was a much taller wind.

While they were still small specks in the distance, it still gave Yei a chance to motion towards them and grin. Even now she could see the pair splashing about playfully and knew at once that they definitely weren't fishing.

So much for those lessons.

"I hope you are ready, she's really quite a lively child." She cooed as she began to descend the hill.

[[Hokay, think we should close this one start another RP so that Glow can meet baby Honey. ^^]]
