The sun shown brightly, bouncing and relecting off the light purple mane and tail of a somewhat small, but rather avrage sized Soquili, causeing them to shine, a thing that in the dark or fadign light cast an illusion of glowing. Glow Heart smiled, shaking her head a bit to remove a bit of hair from her eyes. The mare was not magical, or even that special, yet her hair shone in the sunlight unlike anything she had seen, and it always confused her as to why it did...No one else seemed to have shiny hair. Shaking her thoughts away she set about, grazing lightly as she plucked flowers, placing them in a basket she held around her neck. It was a beautiful day...

A beautiful day indeed, then again every day held so much beauty to the mare who had recently gained so much. Having spent much of her time in the mountains, it was a refreshing change for her to drift towards the meadows. A time when she could savour the sweet smell of the summer blooms and glance with disapproval (and fondness) as the burrs clung to her coat. It had been such a long time since she had last been here.
That being said, she wasn't in the slightest disorientated and her mind was already aware of where she was. The familiar pathways and sights were a comfort to her even though she had passed many new faces. She had been away for months, her towering form a rare sight in the realms of those who seemed somewhat small in comparison. It seemed in that time, children had grown to adults and many soquili had found their way to the lands.
...A pleasant sight but it meant she had much work to do in terms of greeting each in turn.
That being said, as she continued to walk through the meadows her eyes did flick up towards the brief flash. Something of an almost silken quality had caught the light and it was with great surprise that she discovered it was the mane of a rather 'small' mare. Well, Glow wasn't small but in comparison to Yei she rather was. Nevertheless, continuing forward the tall mare brushed the grass aside and placed a smile on her lips, maintaining her distance as a mark of respect.
"You have a most interesting coat."

Glow started at the voice, looking up quickly, tripping backwards and landing on her bum, flowers flying everywhere. She looked around, ears drooping a bit. "Oh dear...Those took forever to find..." She said softly, watching a few be carried off by the wind, tho the daisy in the wind made her smile as she remembered a simillar occuence brought about her meeting of her now lovign mate. She looked in the direction of the voice that had startled her so. A bright red mare stood there. A much more shocking red then Jazz was. She smiled, getting up. "Oh, Hello there. Sorry, you surprised me...I guess i wasn't paying attention. why thank you..." She looked at herself for a moment. "Tho it seems rather plain to me..." She turned back. "Yours is much more interesting. My name is Glow Heart, tho i go by just Glow. Who might you be?" She questioned politely.

"I receive that compliment quite frequently," Yei bowed her head in gratitude and then offered a small smile, it appeared the mare was easily startled and it might have been wiser for her to wait until she had been seen. "We are our own worst critics, at all times though - I assure you, you are definitely not plain." Lowering her head once more, she rummaged about in the grass and very carefully began to retrieve some of the flowers that were in locations she could access.
...Has her mate been here, she would have requested he retrieve those that had flown away but alas he wasn't.
"My birth name is Yei Umeko," She gently set the flowers back in the basket and glanced around for more that would be considered salvageable, "But the majority of my friends and family prefer to call me Yei." Nodding towards the basket, she couldn't help but raise a brow somewhat curiously.
"Such an odd contraption." She observed.

"my mate says the same thing...accually almost all those i have met had said i was not plain..." she smiled, giggling lightly. "It must be true if so many say it, right?" She fetl a bit odd, talking to this mare who seemed much smarter then her. She most likely was and it was a bit intimidating..but...Glow could never pass up an opertunity for a friend.
"Its a pleasure to meet you Yei. thats a lovely name."
Glow blinked. "Hmm? the basket? My human friend gave it too me so i could collect flowers for our home. And for my mane." She shook her head a bit causeing her mane to ripple and the flowers to flutter a bit.

"The flowers never really suited my mane when I tried them," Continuing to retrieve the flowers as she spoke, Yei glanced towards those in Glow's mane appreciatively. Granted, her mate had given her feathers for her own but sometimes she wished that she could wear flowers too - that being said, flowers of such beauty only worked well on those with milder coats.
Beauty came in many forms. Such understanding of these things also came with age and Yei was a rather mature mare in comparison to others she had met.
"Well, then I expect that you would view your mate as most accurate - if you were not beautiful to behold then he would not say so," Always one to believe in honesty in a relationship, she really didn't think that a stallion would lie about looks unless absolutely necessary - for example, he would perhaps li if she was both hormonal and pregnant.
"You must enjoy flower picking though, at most my skills reside in tugging herbs from the ground. My human is a herbalist, I rarely see him pick such things." She confessed with a wry smile.

"Herbalist? Sorry, but i've never heard ofa herbalist." She said. "Then again I stay mostly by the river and my home...Even my mate lives by the river." She smiled.
"Good point, I mean if you can't trust your mate to be honest, then who can you trust?" she smiled. "and i know my Jazz would never lie to me. He's to sweet to lie." She said.
"Hmm...perhaps you never foudn the right flower." Glow said, picking through the flowers in her basket. "Somthing light colored would stand out to much...Somthing darker might be better...What colors go with red...hmm..." She thought.

"They make strange oils and water that help people," That was the only way he mare knew how to describe it, she had watched him crush flowers but she could never understand what he was saying when he spoke. When he had tended to her mate the day he had seen him in such a sorry state he had done as he always did, applied the strange oils, fed him the strange water and it had perked her mate up considerably.
To her, a herbalist was just that.
"I suppose it makes more sense when you see it," She chuckled gently and turned to watch as the mare sought out the flowers in her basket. She supposed something vibrant like a tiger lily would suit her but again, they were such rare things and she had never seen one grow where she lived.
"I live in the mountains, the mosses and herbs my human seeks are more accessible there. How are the forests and rivers these days?"

"The mountains...I've met somone who lives in the mountains before, but i've never been myself." she smiled. "They are wonderful, so bright, alive, and just splendid."
She smiled. "and that makes a bit of sense." she said before going back to her search. "hmm...well lets see...The best flower i have is this..." She held up a flower, a bit large, rangign from a dark red at the center to brihgt yellow at the tips. "not suer what this is...It looks like a mix between a lilly and somthing else...Mabye this kidn of flower...Just one by your tail or behind your ear...Tho..." she noted the feathers. "it may conflict with those feathers of yours." she said.

"We're rare folk and rather secluded, most who live in the mountains prefer to stay in the mountains. To be honest I rather enjoy the company of others, I missed the lowlands while I was away," She smiled faintly as she was presented with the flower and very carefully took it to inspect how it appeared in terms of her pelt.
...If she took off the feathers, it would match. She would have to find the jewels to match it but she was certain her human would help - thus she slipped it in between the feathers for the time being.
"They are my mate's," She explained taking note of the glow the feathers emitted, a warmth rushing over her briefly. "He gave them to me, a gift to commemorate our union so to speak."

"Aww, that is so sweet...Jazz doesn't have any feathers, tho winged soquili have always fasinated me. I've met a few as well. They were vary nice." she smiled. "That is so romantic tho...so you'll always have a bit of him with you..." She motioned to a daisy that sat right behind her ear. "This is my reminder of my mate...We met when that little flower came loose and i chased it right into him...We talked, he walked me home...we met again and...well the rest is history." she sighed softly at the memory. It had been a night she'd never remeber...finding Jazz....

"That is the general idea," Yei wasn't prepared to confess the precise reason behind the feathers but the mare had guessed the most important reason for the feathers. In truth, her mate had bestowed them upon her to prove that he was not so proud as to sacrifice his feathers to a 'lesser' as she had deemed herself to be. It had been that inferiority complex that had bred her hatred for exotic and rare soquili alike...it had been his sacrifices that had made her see clearly again.
"I cannot say my own romance went quite so smoothly as yours, though yours sounds so very nice," She released a sigh of pleasure and canted her head to the side to inspect the flower embedded in the mare's mane. It really had so much understated beauty - it wasn't extravagant but its meaning was so, so powerful.
"How long have you know him?"

"Oh not long at all to be honest...I was, well accually we both were worried to comite to anything so soon. Tho i'm sure he was more nervous...He had a bit of a mishap with a mare that i apparently resemble...I was just worried about hurting him...He's so sweet you see. And we talked, i met his son, such a nice stallion, and..." She shruged. "The rest is history...and being written as we speak." she smiled.

So much information to bestow on one she had only just met, while Glow appeared vulnerable to the mare it made Yei warm to her considerably. There was such fondness in her voice when she spoke of her mate and the trials he had gone through that Yei fully supported the union regardless of not knowing the stallion. She had always been a hopeless romantic, one who spoke of love in favour of it as opposed to unions of circumstance.
Good matches were not those of pelt colour, they were of personalities and love.
"Life brings many trials, pain and suffering but it seems you and your made are both an example of what can happen if we keep hope and faith in our hearts," She confirmed. She knew her own mate hadn't had children before her, true he had many mares before her had never settled down...if anything she had been the one to hurt him the most.
"You have my congratulations."

Glow nodded. "I said somthing like that once to him. Life giving us all tests, heartache, hard times, and if you can get through them alive, happy, well, they you passed. I feel sorry for those that have gone through a hard time and become bitter old souls..." She shook her head softly. "Thank you." She smiled again. She really liked talking to this other mare. Tho several times she felt belittled, a bit stupid, and more then a little shown up, she didn't feel rsent towards the mare who was obviously much smarter, wiser, then herself. It even made her feel happy that this mare haddn't walked off to find somone of a higher intellect to speak to.
