I have a very recent update. It seems that the poltergeist activity is heating up. My mischievious neighbor got a hold of a master key to all the rooms in the building. And she and our friend (who I swear spends so much time on our floor that he lives there) were creating havoc. They were opening vacant rooms that were locked and when they opened one the door to the walk-in closet began to swing back and forth. (the bulk of the activity tends to lean toward closet doors)
So they get to a room that has a master key in it. (so they could return the one they "borrowed") Now many of the rooms have a little wooden window like thing. They're screwed to the door frame but with a good screwdriver, they can open and give you cross ventelation. Well, the window thing on this room with the spare master key was closed. However in the past few days, it has opened and closed. Furthermore, they tried to open the door with this master key and it would not open.

I dunno though. can so much happen in a close space of time? Maybe its the scientificness in me showing but I need something more that feelings, EVPs and stories. Any suggestions?

Some of it does sound a little like someone getting a little carried away with what has been happening. Then again it could all be true.

If you really wanted to get some hard proof why not trying getting hold of a vidoe camera and hidding it in one of the 'haunted' rooms. That way you could find out if someone is just trying to wind you all up. And if something spooky does happen you'll have something really exciting on film.

But do watch out as some ghosts and spirits like to mess with things like vidoe recorders.

Or, you can do a sweep with the camera in your hand, it's much more fun, and if you find anything, they find you, and then it gets fun

A sweep would be a good idea. It might be a trick to get some of the rooms open again, but I can pull it off. It seems that there is usually a period of activity then it stops for a long while, then it starts up again. I've heard of things like that happening in other cases, but is it common?
Oh and I checked, the wooden window thing that opened was a joke. mad
However, last night my pal Cory comes into my room. (he's the one who got had the recorder incident) He's done several hard core investigations with his school and is interested in the paranormal.
So I ask him how he is and he tells me he's a little perterbed. He was staying for the weekend in one of the four person room on our floor. (his classes were finished for the summer and since he couldn't get home and had to move out of his room, our RA let him stay on our secluded floor) He says that he smelled weed out side of his window and being the slightly evil man that he is, decided to shoot a squirt gun out of the window. He no sooner squirts it when the blinds (those roll up ones that fly up when you pull them) begins flying up and down he walked out on their own accord.
He went right over to my room and told me this and naturally I suggested that we investegate further and he flat out refused. It felt like an odd response from someone who enjoys a good ghost hunt.

That's just a bit creepy. Very very creepy. Is this the room by the stairs that I'd always climb?

Yeah, that is an odd response. sweatdrop You'd think he'd have more guts than that, being a ghost hunter and all.

I love how you're so on top of things, Maiden. You and Gem must live on a very interesting campus! So spiritually-active!

There's some areas of that campus that I would love to avoid like all hell but really can't. I do go to school there. I refuse to do my laundry by myself. The basement of the dorm scares the crap out of me.

the basement of our dorm is creepy as all hell. There were old mine shafts underneath campus that were used in the early to mid 1800's. The frats used to take pledges down there to pledge due to the legend that the tunnels are haunted.
Recently, the university closed off the entrances and it is believed that one of the entrances is in our laundryroom.

I'm working on pick of the place and hope they'll be up soon!

We have updates! And pictures!

Earlier today, Maiden was completely and utterly stressed out for various reasons. She says money. Anyway, I have a stuffed bear, stuffed cow, and stuffed puppy (Coco) on my printer which is on the shelf above it. If one stuffed animal falls off, they all fall, and Coco and my cow are facing towards me at the moment. So here's poor Maiden stressed out and I'm about to go down to the bakery before we blast "It sucks to be me" just because. Coco falls off the printer and lands right in front of my computer sitting up and facing it. Maiden and I experimented for a bit to see if Coco could have fallen off naturally. Coco needs a bit of a push to get her off the printer though and once she's off, she either lands on the desk on her side or lands on my chair. We did this for a good five minutes and Coco never landed facing my computer again.

Here's our absolutely wonderful room:

I'm the really messy desk.

So we figure that the puppy was pushed by our resident poltergeist. Gem felt it was a female presence and to be honest the entire experience seemed like it would be something a child would do to make someone smile.
So GemEncrustedEarth walks out to grab lunch and I say aloud, "Rose, if that was you who moved the puppy, can you please do something else? It doesn't have to be right now or even the same thing. Thank you." After that I sit back down at my desk and a bit later my roomie comes back.
Mind you we ended up getting the same room that my friend (the one with the recorders incident) Gem and I begin talking about how we have the hotbed of activity and the subject of rm 218 with the class 3 evp which happens to be next door.
So I have the idea of going next door and seeing if the girls next door had any experiences like the opening closet door the previous guys had.
And they said that a towel that kept falling dispite it being on those non slip hooks. Eventually they just put the towel on the floor since it wouldn't stop falling down.
So we were chatting when out of no where our neighbor's bag that was sitting safely on the desk chair falls off. Now it had her laptop and several text books inside it. And by no means could it have fallen by itself and a small nudge would not be enough for a bag that heavy to fall.
It looks like I got my answer from Rose. eek

Okay so we may have figured out the guy pressence. At three different times over the years, our dorm was a boys dorm. The first time it was a boys dorm, we can rule out just due to the wooden dorm being torn down. The other two times were in the 40s and 70s. We're not sure when the male presence was here aside from those two times. The male presence apparently has a deep voice so he's after puberty.

Wow, I would love to be in a haunted school! You must be having a great time blaugh .
Has anything happened recently? Or has it stopped again?

Somehow, it reminds me of the Ocean House Hotel in the pc game, Vampire the Masquerade:Bloodlines. The hotel was haunted by a small girl, and her father who killed her and his wife in the basement, and then commited suicide, I think. Pretty scary part of the game.
