The group heads down, deeper into the pyramid. Going down this first level finds you led out into a large, dark labyrinth. A few twists and turns into the maze and you find that you're not alone. Seeming to burrow out of the ground without leaving holes, two large golden beetles move in to attack your group!

Magic: 6

Abilities: Resist Magic x 6 (6)
Actions: Spell Block, Retaliate.
Spells: Energy Burst, Lightning Shell (2 MP, deal damage equal to your Magic to everyone who attacked you this turn.)
The first Golden Scarab charges straight at Bigfoot, slamming into him. The second attacks Bellamin.

Bellamin quickly drew his sword into a defensive position. He tried to give a quick counter attack, slashing at the scarab before kicking it away.

Okay, Polkana will be joining you in Bigfoot's place since his Internet access will be worse than anticipated. Ronin is being attacked instead of Bigfoot.

Kitai waves frantically at the Scarab attacking Ronin. "Come en git me ya lowly dung beetle!" The enraged scarab switches targets to Kitai. She meets the attack with her buckler and lashes out at the scarab for good measure.

(i was ok with it attacking me, it was just spring of the moment)

Don't forget Ronin, that your Wolf Charm brings your combat score up to 5, or 3d4.
The first scarab charges at Ronin but is distracted by Kitai and attacks. The eight damage of the attack is perfectly nullified by Kitai's defensive maneuver.
Bellamin gets hit by the second scarab for nine damage, but defends two so only takes seven points of damage.
Striking back, Bellamin hits the scarab for six damage with a Smash.
Gonzu throws a fireball at it as well. In addition to its innate spell resistance, it throws up a Spell Block with its action point so it resists 18 of the 30 damage, leaving it with 12 life left.
Ronin and Kitai team up on the first scarab, attacking with a combined Attack score of 9 against the defense score of 6, doing 8 and 3 damage, respectively.
At the start of the second round, here's where you stand:
Bellamin: 13/20, 1 AP, 2 MP.
Ronin: 35/35, 2 AP, 2 MP
Gonzu: 15/15, 2 AP, 2 MP.
Kitai: 20/20, 1 AP, 2 MP.
Scarab #1: 19/30, 2 AP, 2 MP.
Scarab #2: 12/30, 1 AP, 2 MP.
The first scarab turns from Ronin to Kitai, but the second scarab continues its attack against Bellamin.

Kitai gives the scarab a good wallop then blocks it's attack with her shield. After deflecting the attack she slams the edge of her shield into the back of the scarabs head with crushing force.
((Attack my scarab, dice for defense, use Shield bash))
((Ninja, I think your fireball should be able to finish off my scarab. Ronin should go help Bellamin.))

((Hey! I thought I was the leader!))
Gonzu turns and sends his next Fireball at the scarab attacking Kitai. "Burn you hellish creatures! Burn!!!" Any damage not absorbed by the first scarab is funneled to the second.
((Yeah, cast fireball like I always do. I feel like a rocket launcher. Why does my fireball have to be so damn effective, it's all I ever do.))
