Namine smelled something..no someone. She woke up with a start looking up at a purple eyed, purple haired man. She scrambled away from him afraid that he was trying to hurt her. Namine had trouble getting up as she was abit weak from the swim and not having eaten anything. She looked at the guy and at the gun he had nearby. "leave me alone.." she said her dark eyes focused on his. "I did not escape hell to be forced into another one...If you try to capture me I'll....I'll...I'll fight you". Namine did not have a weapon and she scanned the area for something she could use. Her heart was beating impossibly fast. "Think Namine...Think" she thought. Suddenly it came to her she could use her abilities. Namine closed her eyes and concentrated hard. Her fox ears protruded, her nails became razor sharp claws, and her slender legs began to change so that she was rising on what seemed to be hindquarters breaking through the uniform. She was expending much energy trying to manipulate the mutation. "no..no" she thought please just a little more. The process began to reverse itself all that remained were slightly long sharp nails, her fox ears, and tail. She dropped to her knees, tears welling in her eyes. " I will not die this way" she said as she inched away from the stranger hoping she had scared him enough so he wouldnt follow.

"Hehe, fight me with skills like that? I think not...maybe you were trying to do something along the lines of this...?"
he said jokingly as he chuckled lightly and wolf ears sprouted from his head and a bushy tail came out from his tailbone. Digging his feet and hands into the ground as they warped into paw-like hands and feet. He transformed before her very eyes into a strange version of a half-wolf, half-man hybrid as his violet hair turned into fur and his purple hues transformed and contorted until they were pitch black. Growling at the girl, he approached still and came up towards her quicker than she could move as he was in her face before she could let out a screech. Reverting back to a more human form, he smirked with a triumphant look.
"I don't need a gun to deal with the likes of you...but tell me, how can someone like you be in that garb? I can't believe one such as us would be allowed on that 'city', even more so I can't believe you're with the knights...so, what brings you into my territory? Hm?" he questioned as he stayed on all fours even though he was in a human form now as he moved around her, circling her in an inspecting fashion. Sniffing her and examining her closely to ensure she was no real threat, he smirked when he made it full circle and stood up. "You're just a girl who can't fully control her mutation...kinda funny, really." he chuckled, but he was serious. Maybe she'd really be worth something now, if there really were beasts on that top side and she was one of them, he'd have a real find on his hands... "So, who are you...little girl?"

Namine was shocked. He transformed right before her eyes and it was amazing. He was definetely more powerful than her. He came towards her so fast. Making it obvious that she couldnt escape him even if she wanted to. She was shaking and she tried to suppress it. He wanted to know what she was doing here.
Namine glared at him. "who was he to mock her so" she thought. She was angry but knew she would not win so decided her only choice would be to tell him and hope that he would let her go.
"Uhh..I..Im Namine..I escaped from a research lab where I was held in captivity. They used me to experiment on. They wanted to see if they could reverse mutations." Namine looked at the floor as she spoke not wanting him to see the fear and hope in her eyes. "My mother was human and my dad had a mutation though it didnt manifest..but it did in me. When the government found out they killed them and imprisoned me. Because of the experiments my mutation changes and so at this time I am not able to control it fully". Namine looked at him this time and pleaded " Please let me go..don't imprison me again" she said tears welling in her eyes. "if he does not let me go" Namine thought " I will bide my time and I will escape, and when I do he'll be sorry".

A smirk crossed his face, truly the beasts were a resillient type for even the fragile appearances of one such as her, she was able to escape their clutches. The thought of them reversing the mutation was sickening to him, they treated it like a virus...this was what evolution had in store, so he couldn't see why they'd want to undo it. If anything they should embrace it as fact and turn as well...
"Relax girl, I don't kill my own kind...especially one such as yourself who just recently escaped captivity. You're soaking wet...and that uniform does not suit you...you will come back to my city and rest. After that, do what you want, I don't care." he said as he looked at the soaking wet figure and chuckled a bit at the thought of killing her. It wasn't worth the time and effort, even though the concept of a spy wasn't too far from his mind...the knights were low, after the display from the night before, he wouldn't be surprised at all if they did try something like that.
Looking back at her as he stood up and walked back to pick up the remnants of the CD Player, he sighed at it and placed the remnants in a pocket and the rest of the still in tact device into his other pocket. Picking up his gun last, he slid it into its proper holster on his side and looked back at her one more time before speaking. "Come or don't, that's your choice. If you stay, it's only a matter of time before they sweep this sector and kill you, come and you'll at least have food, fresh water, some dry clothes, and a place where you're among your own kind to rest easy." he said sternly before he sniffed the air for a moment and looked off into the distance.
In the distance, he sighed slightly as the smell of blood was blown in with the sudden gust of wind. "Another group was slaughtered...those bastards." he cringed a bit at the smell of blood, but kept moving towards the towering buildings and skyscrapers cut in half in the short distance, but seemed farther due to the dust kicking up and making it nothing more than a sillouette in the distance.

After waiting for someone from the beast camp to find her, she realized that no one was coming, and that she would have to go to the camp herself, that suited Nina fine. Standing up she brushed off any dust or debris that might have gotten on to her. And with a sigh she started off to the camp.
But before she got far, her ears detected a loud crash. Being the curious type, Nina ran to the place of impact. She watched a boy pulled a girl out of the water, her shuttle had crashed, she was weak from impact as the boy pulled her out. When the girls eyes fluttered open Nina noticed her shaking.
Nina could hear them engaging into conversation, their voices to faint to be heard from where she was hiding. But it didn't really matter for after a brief talk with the girl, the boy transformed into a wolf, human hybrid. "A beast" Nina muttered under her breath. "Finnaly," But the girl looked scared, "I wonder if he is going to kill her..." But when he didn't and both of them started walking away into the distance, Nina decided to follow. Keeping a safe distance, not wanting to be noticed too early.

Namine was sure he would kill her. She could be a spy for all he knew. Namine watched him suspiciously. Maybe he was trying to lull her into a false sense of security. She had to admit his offer was the best and only offer she'd had.Choices were always being for her. This time the choice was her's even if she ended up walking into a trap. "Get yourself together.." she muttered. Namine shivered. The clothes were still damp and the cool breeze was making her cold. She looked down at herself. Her clothes were wet, torn and muddy. Her dark hair hung limply around her still wet from her near escape. Namine looked up at the floating city hatred in her eyes for those that hurt her but compassion for the knight who saved her.
Namine watched the guy as he picked up pieces of an object. She watched him closely..her dark eyes burning a hole in his back. She smelled it..the blood...and her stomach recoiled. She handn't eaten yet not since 2 days ago. They had punished her for not performing well in one of the experiments be with holding nourishment from her. This is why she was so weak coupled with the fact that she had just survived escape, a crash, and now a wild beast whom she thought would kill her. Namine's mutation reverted so that she looked passably human her eyes and ears being the only clue; Her tail had retracted. Namine got up..her legs were wobbly and the clothes weighed down her small frame. She looked at him and said "I'll go with you...but if you betray me..." her words died as she slumped to her knees. "dammit.." she said "I dont have enough strength to follow you" the anger she felt clearly showing on her face. "Great" she thought "im going to die here..because I have no strength". Namine laughed..a low maniacal laughed brought on by the irony of the situation as she was sure he would leave her behind.

A low chuckled escaped his lips at her threat, empty as it was from the sheer power difference between the two. "You'll what?" he asked sarcastically, as if her response was of any consequence to him, but when nothing came he slowly turned back and groaned to see her on her knees. Making his way up to her, he kneeled down and looked at her with a raised eyebrow before laughing right in her face "You really are weak, aren't you? Spending so much time with humans'll do that to ya, you know? Come on, we'll get you back to speed in no time." he said as he grabbed her around the waist and lifted her up with one arm as he had to transform to manage the feat. Now with his wolf hears prosed and a bit of claw forming in place of his normal hands, he was now in a basic hybrid form as his tail came out last and a fang poked out from his upper lip.
"Come on, time to get you settled in, missy. Oh, the name's Shinsei by the way...it's a name you should remember if you wanna survive." he pointed out as he threw her up a bit and onto his shoulder, of course for her this would be rather demeaning, but it was the simplest way without risking the water seeping through his clothing and short circuiting the device in his pockets. Picking up a light sound in the distance, it seemed he was accumulating quite the guest list as another person was obviously in the area now that he'd transformed a bit. Ignoring it for the time being, he headed off towards the city without another word as he hummed a light tune. "Some day this is turnin' out ta be..."

He was seriously underestimating her. Sure she was weak now but she wouldnt be that way for long. Laugh it up while you can..Namine watched as she walked towards her wondering what he was up to. "hey" she said as he lifted grabbed her arm lifting her like a sack of potatoes. Namine became red with anger. How dare he do that to her? She had faced so much humiliation already at his hands.. this wasn't any better. He finally told her his name and she repeated it spitefully "Shinsei... I'll make sure to remember it". She hoped that she her wet clothes made a mess of him. That the mud on her would never come out of his clothes. She hoped something could happen to upset him so she could feel better. He was taking her to his home town she assumed. She dreaded the reception she would receive. Her body tensed....She could feel the heat permeated from his body and did her best to keep her mind off the fact that some stranger was carrying her slung over his shoulder. "It's a strange day indeed" she responded through clenched teeth. Just catching the scent of someone nearby. She thought if he were attacked maybe....just maybe...she could get satisfaction and get away.

Making it into town after a relatively short voyage, he set the girl down infront of a building and left her there silently. "Welcome to the town with no name...my home...everyone's home." he said in a dissappointed tone as children ran by and circled the boy, shooting at each other with spark guns. Some had horns and grey flesh and others had tails and fur, but they all seemed to get along as a little girl clung to his leg to hide from the boys playing with their guns. "Maya, they're just playing around...come now, they aren't gonna hurt you." he said with a smile as he petted her on the head gently, but she didn't release.
Looking up at the girl in the soaking wet clothing, he sighed and kneeled down. "Maya, we have a new friend, why don't you take her to find some dry clothes and food? I'm sure she'd rather be around another girl than the likes of me, eh?" he said as the boys ran off and she became less tense and nodded slowly. "Good girl...Maya's gonna take care of you for a bit, she's a good girl and knows her way around fairly well. She'll help you out...after you're clothed and fed, do as you like...just don't cause any problems for any of these people. They've suffered enough..." he said as he stood up and began to walk towards his own home where he'd change his shirt and put away the device in his pockets where it wouldn't be destroyed by rampaging children.
Standing infront of a run down house moved from the old suburbs to a street corner, he entered after taking a moment to look at the exterior. The furnishing was tattered and torn, but it was home none the less as he threw the wet and muddy shirt to the side and grabbed another grey shirt, worn by time and battle. Nothing was new and hardly anything was clean as every shirt in his closet seemed as dirty as the last...all 3 of them. "Such a day to be meeting people...another beast added to a population of those forgotten. A land devoid of humanity...we truly live in a modern shantytown..." he sighed to himself before throwing a vest over it and exiting the building as quickly as he went in and stretched.

She glared at him as soon as he set her down but didnt have time to continue as she looked around the place he brought her to. It was nothing like the city above and she felt bad for the state of things down here. She noticed children running back and forth play fighting many with outward mutations. She saw a little girl attach herself to Shinsei's leg and wondered how the little girl could be like that with such a person as him. Namine caught her name...Maya. Apparently Maya would help her get settled in this place. Namine gave Maya a small smile not wanting to scare her away. "Hi Maya..my name is Namine" she said extending her hand for the little girl to take. The child was unsure of her...it was natural Namine wasn't so trusting herself. Before leaving with Maya Shinsei had warned her about causing trouble " Who does he think I am?" she muttered frustratred. He was seriously pissing her off with his smug attitude. Never in her entire life had she met someone like him. Then again she had spent most of it in captivity. Maya led her to a small shack and supplied her with clothes and some dried food. It wasn't the best she had but right now it tasted like heaven. She removed the tattered uniform and the clothes beneath changing one piece at a time. Suddenly she felt a finger on her back and she jumped. Maya removed her hand..curiosity in her eyes. She asked Namine about the strange characters on her back. Namine didn't even know she had anything on her back. She asked Maya for some kind of reflective surface so she could see for herself. There were some kind of runes swirling in the curve of her back a shade slightly darker than her skin. "what the hell is that?" she wondered. "Maybe a side effect from the experiments" she thought. Namine explained to Maya her unsurety and thanked her for all she'd done flashing her a genuine smile. She finished dressing in the clothes provided a dress which was worn but still in slightly good condition..She had to alter it to make room for her tail the same dark color as her hair.. which right now was wagging of its own free will. She combed her hair undoing the knots that were in it till it ran silkily through her hands. Namine hung the rest of the clothes to dry feeling much better and ready to explore the town.

Yawning, the boy wandered a bit before leaning against the wall of a building and sliding down into a sitting position. He was a bit exhausted to be honest, no sleep for the past few days was starting to wear him a bit as he was really just like everyone else in this city: In a state of near destruction from living a life like this. This city...his city...but for a leader, he didn't seem like much of one when he wasn't in active service. That's how this place worked...when he wasn't needed, he was like everyone else...working hard to survive and paying debts through services and bartoring.
Lifting a hand, he picked up a piece of cement from the wrecked building behind him and began skipping it across the dusty street like it was water as he watched it run across the ground and hit against the adjacent building. His violet hued eyes seemed in a dar-off daze as they drifted to look up at the sky above, his guard down a bit, he began to feel less tense while he pulled his knees up to his chest and closed his eyes lightly, he took a brief nap. If Maya needed him, she could find him easily...heck, even the girl should be able to track him through scent...even if she did seem kinda weak.

Namine stepped out of the shack..taking in a deep breath. She was glad to be free from those experiments. Now she was beginning a new period in her life. Now she had a purpose to strive for..vengeance. Namine's claws extended on their own as she thought about hacking them to pieces. She recalled the time she went berserk..and tasted the blood in her mouth as she bit into their flesh. Maya looked at Namine eye wide and said "Namine your hands and your mouth you're bleeding". Namine snapped out of it. She really was tasting blood... her own blood. Her teeth had sharpened into fangs and bit into her lip without her knowledge. Namine felt sick and willed the mutation to fade. Her hands returned to normal and her teeth went back to their normal state. "wow" Maya said "you can change your mutation" as she jumped up and down excitedly. Maya touched Namine's tail..this made Namine feel weird..it was nice. Namine's tail wrapped around the girl. Maya and Namine both laughed at the action. "yes I can change my mutation..but I haven't mastered it yet..say Maya can you show me around?" Maya shook her head exuberantly. Namine took her hand and allowed her to lead the way.

((Wow, you guys got really far!))
Kiyoko sat in a tree, watching the scene by the water unfold before her. She too had heard the crashing noise, and flew up to a nearby tree to see what was going on. After the two left (with the guy carrying the girl on his shoulder), she decided that staying here was a bad idea, and decided to go back to the refuge city. Spreading her pearly white wings wide, she took off, her hair being blown out away from her face. Wow, they both can transform really well, she thought. She wondered how she'd fair in the city, since so far her only mutation was teh large wings on her back.
When she arrived back to the city, she took a tattered shawl out of her small bag. Wrapping herself in it, she walked into town. This being the first time actually walking through the town, she was in awe at the state of this city. She felt a bunch of childern run past her, playing with what looked like spark guns. They seemed to get along so well, despite the fact they had different mutations. She also saw a few girls play jump rope with some old string. The one jumping wore an old purple dress, obvioulsy worn out and patched, and had ears and a tail, which swished in the response to her jumping. The other two holding the rope also wore worn out dresses, one red and one yellow, and were singing a jump rope song.
Cinderella, dressed in yellow went upstairs to kiss her fellow she made a mistake and kissed a snake How many doctors did it take?
Kiyoko smiled, remembering that song back in school. The kids used to like having her around, before....... Forcing the memory out of her mind for now, she found the same beauful lake again. As soon as she got there, she realized just how tired she was. She had flown for days nonstop to get here and away from her quarintined area, without getting caught by officials. She hadn't eaten in a few days either, nor slept. Suddenly feeling weak, she sat down and leaned against the same rock. Peering into the water, she realized how pale her face was. Before she realized what was going on, she had fallen asleep, her head resting on the rock, and the same fish swimming carefree in the water.

The shuttle for the Grand Capitol was boarding all knights and recruits as Zack stood amongst the other troops and took a deep breath. Every knight recruit and lower-ranking knights were being returned to the capitol for more training to prepare for the upcoming threat as he boarded the shuttle, one of the last to do so, as he looked out the window at the city he'd be leaving behind for a while. "See ya...mom...dad..." he muttered to himself as he looked forward at the commanding officer of the troops for this city.
His stature seemed inhuman, larger than life, as he folded his arms in full armor. Even his face was covered by the black-tinted plated armor on his body. "Alright, here is the situation at hand. It would seem that the earth's surface has had an adverse effect on human life. A good time ago, when all humans lived on the surface, constructing these hovering utopias...there were few who exhibited strange mutations. In preservation of our race, we quarantined these humans and kept them securly contained. Now it seems, when we were sure the mutations would wipe them out...it has changed them into a race seperate from our own. We do not know what these beasts are fully capable of, and we cannot take any chances when dealing with them so each one of you are going back to the Capitol for emergency drills and exercizes to prepare you for the battles to come, is that understood?!" he called as the troops inside all chanted a militaristic 'Yes Sir!' in unison, but Zack's chant was weaker than the others as his mind seemed elsewhere...
-------------------------------------------------------------
Sitting there for a moment, Shinsei yawned slightly and stood up slowly as his eyes opened slowly and he rose to his feet. Looking about the city, he wondered if that girl was alright...but quickly dismissed the thought and began walking back towards the direction he'd come. Heading slowly onward through the city, he suddenly caught the scent of an unfamiliar person...another one? That beast from before was weak...did she bring friends with her? He turned about and ran off towards the direction of the smell as he stopped near where several girls were playing rope and looked about before catching a glimpse of a dress on the opposite side of a rock. Walking forward, he looked down to see a girl asleep against a rock "Yep, definitely another one...but she seems in a better condition than the other...hey, wake up." he said as he nudged her with his boot. Yes, he was a rude person when he acted, but curiousity for him meant getting answers there and then.
