Ecstatic that her newfound friend was so polite, not unlike her father, Aquene beamed at him as she nodded happily. Were she not so pleased to finally have a close friend, she might have suspected his motives, but... well, she was still a foal.
"All right, thank you very much," she said with a curt smile directed back towards him. Eyeing the cave entrance curiously, she smiled back at him again before trotting into the darkness, expecting him to follow.

Meshach followed happily and once they were in the cave he started to smirk a little. He just had to decide what to do. He needed to think of some way to scare her which would be highly amusing and it needed a lot of planning!
He took some time thinking and then decided but kept it to himself, after all telling her would be pretty stupid!

Glancing back at him curiously, she mistook his mischievious smirk for a smile of genuine happiness, returning it with one of her own as they continued on into the cave. The eerie darkness made her a little nervous, and she subtly shifted closer to her male friend for comfort. After all, being as chivalrous as he was, he wouldn't mind protecting her if something jumped out at them, right?
Flinching slightly at a slight sound echoing through the empty space, she edged ever so closer to Mescach's side. "You don't think there's anything else in here, do you?"

"Of course not!" He chuckled and continued to walk, letting her be at his side. He was rather glad she was it would be rather amusing if he did something while she was beside him because then he wouldn't know who was doing it!
They continued to walk for a bit and then Meshach took his opportunity, moving his tail slowly he raised it enough to touch her back and move it away quickly. He was longing to see her reaction.

The cave was deep and dark, as she had expected it would be, but that didn't make her any less nervous. Not for the first time, she wished she had her father's bravery, or at least that ever-burning light he had on the end of his tail...
She was just beginning to relax at Meschach's assurance when something touched her back, and she leapt into the air with a surprised squeal. Golden eyes darting about wildly, she eyed her male friend with some amount of suspicion and panic. "Did you do that?"

He held the laugh back as she jumped though it wasn't an easy thing to do. She looked hilarious though he looked worried, after all he had to if he was going to get them any further into this cave!
"No? What happened?" He looked around though of course the cave was very dark and he couldn't see anything but that wasn't what was interesting him. Oh he loved having a cool tail like his. He would have more fun yet, they just had to get into the cave a bit further.

Calming down a bit, but still trembling in her anxiousness, the small filly ruffled her wings in nervousness, golden hues darting back and forth in the darkness. "Um... nothing, I guess... maybe it was just my imagination."
Would he be doing this? No... she was sure he wouldn't delight in scaring the daylights out of her... not even her sister did that. What was the fun in watching someone else jump in fright? He was so polite, and he'd even called her beautiful... no, she resolved, there was definitely something else behind this. Perhaps her imagination was running away with her again.
She ignored the small fact that her imagination had never played tricks on her like this before.
Offering a shaky, but forcedly brave smile, she straightened and nodded to the colt. "Let's keep going."
