"I take it we're resting the night at the beach?" Blue paws moved forward at a normal pace, sinking and resurfacing from the sand with each step. They were moving closer, the palm's shady forms soon taking shape. White eyes flickered across the golden environment before falling back towards Setsumi. "Of course you already know my plans, so don't bother fretting." Of course, just because there were guests doesn't mean he'd change his plans. Besides, it was much more interesting at night were it was cooler in the air. Ears perked as the air already cooled immensely, as they were now at the rim of the beach. All they had to do now was pass some feet of soft sand and tall trees.
Setsumi glanced occasionally to the others, making sure they were all in a close group. Getting lost in a blurry desert wasn't something she didn't want to spend time on. "Why not, it'll be needed." As to his own antics, she nodded simply. She on the other hand planned to just sleep. Eyes moved up, squinting in the bright light to observe the frilly tops of the palms. "Well, here we are."

The sight of the palms, and the fact that they were 'there', seemed to revive Edward rather quickly. Eyes getting big at the thought of seeing the ocean. Suddenly, a form clad in a red coat streaked past Ronan, cackling madly in a joyful fashion. Water! Finally! He was going to go dunk himself in the ocean and then.. and then... well he would figure that out soon enough. He would still be sandy and briney when getting out of the ocean, but it didn't matter.. he wanted to cool off for real.
The teen kitsu making a bolt for the trees and the water beyond. His front paws sinking into some soft sand rather suddenly as he ran.. thanks to his automail. "Oof!" his chin hitting the sand as he half fell, but it didn't stop him! He was soon off like a shot once more.

The winged female did not know Ronan's plans, but curious though she might be the comment was not directed at her so she did not ask. Not while she was a 'guest' and it was not likely something that would affect her. Or if it did she would learn of it soon enough. The colorful male seemed less thrilled with having them along then Setsumi. Or perhaps just her. Lily did not want to give him any reason to regret her joining the group.
As her intended took off from her side with a mad laugh green eyes blinked in the sea of her red fur briefly. Then she laughed lightly quickening her step as if feeding off his excitement but not drawing the pressing need to be cool Edward most likely was feeling. There was another laugh as Ed fell, nearly covering the flash of concern in her eyes. She started to trot with steps that were sinking more than her careful steps of before, eager to go with Edward in his wild run for the ocean yet content to follow more sedately too.

Ronan simply sat and stared as Ed made a hasty and clumsy dash to the waterline. He waited till the boy was beyond the trees before placing a paw to his head, a laugh escaping his maw. "That kid sure is something else. Makes for a good laugh, if I do say so myself." So long as they didn't bump heads, which, in it's own way, was entertaining as well. He sat back as Lily soon followed, giving a grin to Setsumi as he stood and finally approached the water.
All that Setsumi could do....was shake her head at Ed. Oh boy, how he ever survived in life, she'd never know. A soft chuckle left her as she stepped out of his and Lily's way to the beach. At least now that could actually relax and enjoy the desert. Trotting faster, she nudged into Ronan, grinning as she darted to rush into the cool, shiny water. Why not break an honest grin every now and then?

Once Ed came in close sight of the ocean, he had to just stop and stare.. his mouth agape as he saw the endless surge of the sea and the crashing of the waves, as if he'd never seen the ocean before. If he'd ever seen it in his past life, then it was nothing but a faded memory... for he'd certainly never seen it in this one. "Wow..." was the only word he had to describe it. It allowed Lilianna a moment to catch up and he looked to her, golden eyes sparkling, "Isn't it amazing?" Tossing his coat and shoes aside, he ran the rest of the way with a laugh and a shout. SPLOOSH! Leaping into the crisp, salty water, he felt instant relief from the heat, although Ed stayed where it was shallow.

There was a slight giggle from her at Ronan's comment on her chosen, unable to argue, loving how Edward could make her smile. Make her want to act like the playful kit she never had been. Lily did not need Setsumi to get out of her way since she was going more casually and had been taught not to bowl others over, but flashed a thankful smile for the gesture.
Her green eyes however returned to focus on the teen alchemist. gold tipped paws hurried now over the less deep dunes of the beach to catch up, just short of a full run. Seeing him pause she put on more speed, coming up behind him just as those gold eyes of his sparkled at her with the awe of the sea. Crimson head nodded, though she had yet to truly look up and see more of the ocean than backdrop for Edward. It was not until he had removed coat and boots, heading out into the shallows with a splash that her green eyes actually swiveled to take in the sight before them, then reiterating her love's words of mere moments before. "Wow. Amazing."
She had seen the ocean before, in a sense. From within the spherical dome of Luca Stadium through the magic door at home. But that was like looking through a window. It did not capture the cool, salty breeze or the surrealistic effect of looking out over the waves into the endless blue beyond. Awed she padded lightly into the moist sand where just the last but of waves reached their fading fingers onto the beach, shivering as the cool water danced across the hot pads of her paws. She stepped further, and a massive shudder ran from her nose to the tips of her tails and through her wings as the shock of the next wave over her paws shook Liliana out of her daze. Her eyes sought Ed's dancing with delight.

Ronan smirked at the bump, darting after Setsumi as she raced to the water. Though once she had left the dry land, he skidded to a stop, sand puffing up at the disturbance. He enjoyed sunbathing, why ruin it now? Sticking his tongue out, he turned and found a shaded area under a palm, flopping lazily in the sand. The nearby shade only a place to roll into later in the day. For now, he lolled to the sound of the waves.
Of course he wouldn't follow, and Setsumi slowed to a walk once the water was knee high. Ears and eyes watched as Ed finally got the chance to cool off. Lily enjoyed the moment slowly, seeming to soak in every little detail. The femme moved closer to the red girl with a grin. "First time actually at the beach?" Obviously, a book couldn't replace everything. So it had been a good outcome for the young lady to join on this trip.

By this point, Edward had laid himself down in the water, a content look on his face as only his head was above the water... letting the waves wash over him as they came and went. His body and the automail cooling to acceptable temperatures and eventually he pulled himself out.. completely soaked and dripping, but it didn't matter. Giving himself a shake he padded over to join the two most prominent female figures in his life. He felt salty.. but atleast he had coold off. Gold eyes again locking with Lily's green ones.
He waited for Lily to answer Setsumi's question, before he spoke up with a question of his own. "Where are we going next?" Obivously they would likely be staying here over night, but he was curious to where they would be heading in the morning.

Liliana looked slightly embarrassed, ducking her head a little at Setsumi's question to break the thrall of the view enough so she could answer. "I've seen the ocean through the blitzball stadium during our games at home..." oh it was hard sometimes to remember to hold her wings to her body while swimming, but Zell had insisted once she had been training a while that she needed to join them in playing blitzball. At the time it was another good distraction from her constant thought of Edward & Endless. "But never a real beach. The family's grown too big for outings, like when Trelweny took everyone to the beach the summer before I was born. And I'm afraid I've never been to the ports, where Uncle AearHwesta docks his Hiril Anorfalf."
Bringing her head up she gave the other female a small smile before letting her eyes lock to Ed's intense golden ones with a happy flutter of her heart.

The girl's embarrassment brought a smile to Setsumi's face, finding it an unneeded expression. Not many other kitsus had ever seen the beach either. The only reason she herself had aver seen any was cause of her constant traveling habits. Her head tilted at the mention of docks, wondering is she had ever crossed them before. Surely she would have remembered seeing any ships about.
Her eyes too turned to Ed as he approached, ears moving back at his question. "Already set on moving forward, are we?" She shook her head head to herself with eyes closed, before turning to return to the shore. "You'll just see once we get there." Tails swished above the waves, as the female was determined to keep her feathers away from the water. She padded away from the couple, paws shaking off the wetness, before she headed over to Ronan and curled into a resting heap.

Edward lifted his brows and he pouted slightly as he was told to 'wait and see'. He was just curious, was all.. but rolled his shoulders as Setsumi headed away from them to go rest. He watched her go for a moment.. wondering.. before looking back up to Lily with that smile of his. He nosed her shoulder, "C'mon.. lets go find some shade."
With that, the alchemist trotted across the warm sand and to a thick clump of palm trees away from the other two adults. After traveling in a group all day.. it would be nice to sit and relax, all by themselves.

Lifting her wings a little to feel the breeze beneath them and across her fur, Liliana twisted to lick back an errant fur messing up her pattern along her side. She smiled softly as she trotted after Edward, laughing inwardly as she accepted that she did look like her mother's fan. Feeling both frisky and a little... out of place, Lily trotted until she was ahead of Edward & looked back at him hopefully.

Lily: *inclines her head, inviting Ed to go off alone with her; flicks her tails almost shyly*
Ed: *blinking curiously, follows after Lilianna and comes up alongside her to follow*
Lily: *licks lightly at his cheek* I sometimes feel... imposing. You know... us being together. *blush, ducks head behind hair* I mean.... they're friends, right? Setsumi's mate is someone else -Terasu looks nothing like Ronan. So this can't be easy on her.
Ed: *smiles at the lick and nuzzles back* Yeah.. they're friends... Elian is Setsumi's mate. I met him once... haven't seen him since. *kisses softly* Don't worry about it.
Lily: *kisses back with a small purr, then blinks* Elian? I'd almost swear that was the name of Uncle Ember's son. *shakes her head and smiles covering Ed's face with little kisses* That's silly, isn't it? *giggles and kisses him properly, intending to do as he said and at least try not to worry about it*
Ed: *lifts his brows... then laughs as his face is covered in kisses* Are you sure you want to kiss something covered in sand? *grins, claps his paws... and puts them to the ground.. creating an indention in the sand and drawing up water from and underground reservoir to created a shallow, clear pool* I dunno about you..but I could use a bath.
Lily: *watches wordlessly, enjoying watching Ed do his alchemy, tails wagging. it was different than her magic, but still she felt it had its similarities to transfiguration* Why? saying I'm dirty, or do you just want to get me wet? *dancing green eyes and tone indicate she's teasing, moments before lowering her shoulder in a move Zell taught her to push Ed into the water with a laugh*
Ed: *laughs* No.. I'm saying -I'm- dirty.. but as for getting you wet.. *grins... and then is pushed into the water with a splash and sputters* Hey! No fair! *uses his paws to splash back at Lily*
Lily: *giggles & pulls a wing in front of her face like a shield as she looks away from the splash; she manages to shield her eyes though the rest of her drips from where the water hits. Shaking it off she laughs again* All's fair in love & war? *tilting her head a little, she folds her wings and slips into the water beside him* Guess I should have let you get undressed first? *nuzzles, then starts grooming his ear*
Ed: There's nothing fair about war... *sounding slightly melancholy for a moment, but soon perks up* Love is another matter. *blinks at mention of his clothes* Eh... yeah.. *realizing it'll take 'em awhile to dry now. Grins at the grooming then moves away to step out of the water for a moment to remove said clothes and place them upon rocks to start drying then returns to sit beside her and sink almost entirely in the water with a relieved sigh*
Lily: *watches thoughtfully as Ed goes melancholy, noting not to bring war up if she can help it* they needed a wash too. *grins and licks at Ed's head as he returns, pleased to see him relaxed* I'd offer you my fur shampoo if you wanted it... but I think you'd smell funny with a hint of vanilla
Ed: lifted his head slightly and wrinkled his nose, "And smell like a girl?" he laughed, "I think I would like it better on you." *enjoyed every moment as the water cooled his body and automail. Releasing the tie on his braid, he submerges himself completely and remains under for a few moments, eventually coming back up for air... after all, sand isn't pleasant in hair or fur... Then without warning he leaps up to pounce and push Lily into the water and quickly releases so she can get back up. Revenge!*
Lily: *she was giggling, Ed having a reaction to sharing her shampoo much like Hemi had; then she was watching him happily, tails wagging beneath the surface of the water as much as they were able, just thinking happy thoughts. Yip! fall over sputter. laugh* guess... deserved that? <3
Ed: *laughs* You bet you did! *drapes his paws over her shoulders and grabs Lily's ear playfully giving a gently tug before nibbling at her nape and nuzzling between the ears*
Lily: *laughs, winces more in surprise than pain t the ear tug, then closes her eyes in pleasure at the rest* hmmm.... maybe I should do it again... *nips playfully at Ed's flesh paw*
Ed: Oh yeah? Just try it! *Lily might find it a bit more difficult to get the better of him a second time! ... Ed's toes wiggled a little as she nipped his paw. His tongue grooming the wet fur on her neck in a deeply affectionate manner*
Lily: *she'd been practicing against the much bigger (than her) Zell so anything could be the outcome. of course she was still not a fighter, just at least a little less defenseless & certainly more toned. she purred into the grooming* I will... sometime... *it didn't seem that sometime was now though* darn it, Edward... you're the one needs a bath and here you go relaxing (and not relaxing) me again and I want to get YOU. *pulls a move that SHOULD flip their positions... if she did it right*
Ed: *leaps clear just in time but then rebounds to pounce towards her chest with intention of pushing Lily onto her back and pinning her there, should it work* Can't catch me that easily! *He might be small but he's also quick and slippery!*
Lily: *two could play at this game! barely rolling clear of his pounce, feeling the motion of his body beside her even before re reached the water she waited until the moment his feet touched down to swipe her backlegs through the water to try and knock him off balance. But the motion was slowed, accustomed to training on dryground, not aquatically*
Ed: *the slowed motion gave him enough time to predict and again he lept clear, scampering through the water and aiming to n** at Lily's rear with a clearly suggestive motive behind it Grinning mischeviously, Ed put some distance between him and her, waiting for his betrothed's next move.*
Lily: *pouts at missing, though not much once her mind caught up with WHY... then yips as her rear is nipped; wet tails swaying. turns on him, passion growing again in her eyes, with a bit of daring & delight too. contemplates her options, then disapparates, to apparate overtop of him*
Ed: *smirks triumphantly although that look she turned on him causing his heart to skip a beat... and then she disappeares. Blinking as he realizes that she's now over him* Heeey.. no fair, I didn't use alchemy! *Although he physicaly wasn't resisting. Hm.*
Lily: *giggles and sets about grooming him, with much the same diligence she would have used on Hemi but with a definite difference as her tongue caressed Ed's fur lovingly* Fair? Didn't we go over this already? <3
Ed: *huffed... pretending to be indignent.. but really can't complain from getting a free bath from the kitsu he loves most. Eventually a contented, rumbling purr resonates from Edward's chest... golden eyes falling shut as he enjoys the attention. His tails sweeping under her in a similar, teasing fashion as she had done to him some nights before*
Lily: *shivers as his tails brush the inside of her legs, the grooming taking a decidedly more amorous direction though she is still making certain not to miss an inch or even an strand of fur*

Satisfied that Ed was now completely cleaned the crimson female spread her brown wings outs just under the surface of the water before snuggling into his side. She was happy, and probably more excited than was safe to be as she shivered pleasurably as their fur mingled in the water. He affected her so... wonderfully. Just being him. "hmm... I could stay right here for a while..." Lily did wonder where this place was they were heading and what it would be like. She still had no clue how far away it really was, and wondered now the range of her communicator.

The sound of the waves were the only thing heard in the crisp night air, all kitsus laying in slumber. An occassional swish of the palm leaves shuddered above, before falling once more into a calm stiffness. A set of black tipped ears rose, and Ronan's head soon lifted from the sandy ground. The natural light from the moon and stars was fabulous, reflecting off the glassy water and making the male's whit eyes seem to glow. Peering around to check were all the others were, he stood and stretched quietly. The feathered adult was not too far, but no poke was needed. She already knew were he was going, and he had assured her he'd be back before daybreak. With one last glance, he prowled as quietly as he could in the loose sand and headed out passed the palms, to the dead terrain.

After getting sufficiently clean, Edward had laid out some palm branches to make a bed while his clothes dried on some nearby rocks. Having curled up and fallen asleep next to Lilianna, something seemed to make him stir some time later. Call it intuition... or maybe he had heard something. Either way, Ed's ears lifted and soon followed by his head as he looked around groggily. Catching a glimpse of a kitsu's shadow moving away, he left Lilianna's side and stepped out past the palm trees and saw Ronan moving towards the dead lands. A frown creased his maw and Edward silently followed at a distance, wondering what on earth was going on.

It was not the movement that stirred Liliana from her slumber, long accustomed to the alchemist when sleeping. It was the cool sea breeze stirring warmed fur that had only recently been the side pressed to Edward's body. Groggy green eyes opened slightly, to see where he might have gone. The moon enabled her to see the white of Ed's wings even in her sleepiness. Edward?
Part of her wanted to follow him. The rest however was exhausted from the day's activities. Even with her training of the last month Lily's stamina & endurance was nothing to match that of her intended. Curling her tails and wings around her the crimson female buried her nose into the spot he had vacated to fill it with what lingered of Ed's scent as she curled into a tighter ball. He would be back. The witch trusted in that, her cheek pressing into the cool metal of the pendant around her neck.
Probably nature call, or male bonding... She thought sleepily, drifting off once more.
