i feel the same but mine's switched around, i can play flute but i can't plat trumpet

there are some fingerings to help you reach ome high notes. Like a high d is just your thumb, middle finger on your left and the rind finger on the left. then high e flat is all the fingers except the thumb is playing the part of the key that you play b natural with (if this makes sence) sweatdrop and then high f is index on left, ring on left, index on right, and thumb

if you need higher registers here's a chart that may help you out

Ok so I asked my bd if I could take a flute home over summer break so I could have another instrument to play. Well, I being a trumpet player, can't hit the upper register! So would the lovely flute players be ever so kind as to help the poor stupid trumpet player hit the upper register sweatdrop

i have a friend that plays the trumpet.
she says that you have to pucker your lips tight

tighter ambesure, faster air flow, and on the high E natural, don't use your E flat key, it makes the note come out a bit easier, which you need cuz even seasoned flute players have issues with that note. It's evil!

Just be careful not to use harmonics, I had a bunch of freshmen flute players come in this year who played harmonics to hit there high notes. Those take a lot more air than the high fingerings and they come out much clearer. I spent a whole semester trying to get the high fingerings in their muscle memory (My bd is too busy with other sections so that's my job as section leader.)
By the way, good for you for learning the flute! Your band status just rose!

When the zetas fill the skies...

Trust me, its not just new players. This is my fifth year of playing french horn, and its still hard to hit those high notes. All I can say is a tight embouchure, and fast air. If you hit it once, try 10 quarter notes in a row, without cracking. If you crack or don't hit it, do it again.
Its tough, but it comes with time.

Its just our leaders in disguise.
