Once everyone who seemed to be tagging along had come through the door and it was shut Valefor seemed to calm down a little. She still poked playfully at Aear with a wing curl before just sitting and looking up into the branches of the orange tree and enjoying the familiar smell of the spot.
Then something to shift out from under mental feet. It felt... the best way she could have described it was her personal "gate to the Farplane" opening. Suddenly she felt sort of... wobbly. "Aear... stay here. Please." She padded over to the gate and opened the latch before padding out into the grassy alleyway behind. Everything was wobbling... shaking... no, she was. Rippling might be a better word. Was it just her or was her skin and fur imitating the surface of a disturbed lake?
It could only be described as an explosion of pyreflies and sparkling lights that erupted from Valefor's body, growing to envelope a space far larger than the kitsu had occupied before it faded. When it was over... no kitsu stood there. Valefor was an Aeon once again. She stood up slowly and shook herself, hair-tail whipping around behind her head as her lamp and rings rattled loudly. She raised her head and voiced the cry that was like the screech of a hawk and the tolling of a giant bell rolled into one sound, face no longer just a mask. Then she looked around almost in confusion for a moment before walking akwardly over to the gate on her tiny feet and thrusting her head and long neck through the opening to look almost pleadingly at the Audio Rikku. Valefor wasn't equipped to speak normally now... and she wasn't sure if she could communicate non-verbally very well to someone who wasn't a summoner in order to explain.
Maybe it hadn't just been the door at work a few minutes ago... and while this wasn't exactly unwelcome, it was unexpected and... decidedly akward.

The Rikkus both blinked, the voronwe falling to a sitting position on her rump. "Fayths... Vilg Valefor!!! You're.... you're you again!!" The Al Bhed had seen a lot in her time as guardian and Gullwing, and the audio had seen a lot since. But she was not prepared for someone to switch once they were here and in their new form. What would happen if both audio & voronwe Rikkus returned human at the same time? Rikku did not dare step near the gate. Neither of them. Though neither looked away, more stunned than frightened.
Trelweny took a step forward as if in a dream, eyes glazed though it was clear she could see the gate & the aeons return to her original self. Before the human could near enough to step through a white and blue form was between her and the entrance, gently stopping her progress as he let her mind stay where it was. Probably in thrall of the 'voices' of the Farplane. Or maybe listening to the aeon. She was no summoner, but the widow was a Talant of high ability behind her inhibitions & blocks. AearHwesta was not ignorant of that. However he did not look at Trelweny, his russet gaze focused on the full aeon, much larger and somehow even more beautiful than ever. "So this is ye true form, Valefor-luv? Ye just keep surprising me with yer beauty."
Checking that the human was truly stopped the angelic ladies' kitsu padded fearlessly towards the gate to nuzzle massive head thrust through it. She still smelled like Valefor. Less kitsu, more other-worldly, still all female. A low rumbling purr vibrated through his body. No matter the form, Aear would always love and want her.

Valefor made her Aeon form's rumbly growl of a purring sound at Aear and preened him gently before looking up at Trel. Tell the Rikkus it's ok. This started when I came in... I think it's because I have a foot in the Farplane, even now. I don't think it will last, and if it was going to effect them I think it already would have. If anyone was going to pick up on that, it was Trelweny.
Valefor gave a quick flap of her enormous wings and drifted backward into the alley so she'd have more room and then folded her wings and resettled herself, peering around. There was Farplane magic in this place... but how? Is it because she was trying to recreate Zanarkand as exactly as she could? Or was it just the Farplane's sometimes perverse seeming sense of humor?

She would not always be able to hear, 'turned off' as she normally was. But like when Mirror was stuck in his psychic scream Trelweny was lost within herself & able to access the power she contained though without any of the the training useful to appropriately use it best. *Rikku.... Everything is fine* Her 'voice' echoed to all present, not controlled enough to focus only on the Rikkus. Aear flicked an ear at the sending, and licked lightly at Valefor's neck as he padded to remain with her.
*It won't last & it won't happen to you. You're not linked to the Farplane.* The girls relaxed, grinning sheepishly at the aeon for freaking like that. "Well, if that's the case, I'm sure not letting Yunie bring Tidus here! Wouldn't want to chance him becoming a dream on her again, no matter if he wants to see his Zanarkand again or not!!" Adamantly the audio stepped her foot down, but she was grinning.
AearHwesta cast his russet gaze to seek the aeons. He had heard enough. "So how long do ye think ye'll be like this luv? And what would ye be wanting to do? Seems a waste to sit in an alley, when ye can be soaring the skys. Free."

Valefor looked up at the sky. Aear had a point... and she wanted to show him to the port. But it wouldn't be very nice to run off and leave Trel and the Rikkus...
She stretched her neck out toward the Rikkus and flicked her head in a "come here" motion and then lifted her head to jab toward the general direction of the blitzball stadium while flaring her wings. Even without words there was no mistaking that she was asking if they wanted a ride into the city proper before she went galavanting around for a while.
Though there was still the issue of Trel's "zoned out" state. Valefor concentrated on closing the "gate" to the Farplane to just a trickle rather than the rush it had been. When she was done she waited a moment, but she didn't feel any of the odd tremors she had when she came in that foreran her transformation... This was going to take some figuring out.

Aear smiled, oddly calm. The Rikkus, realizing they were about to get a ride on an aeon whooped happily & between them pulled a now 'waking' Trel towards Valefor & helped the woman 'aboard' so to speak. The angelic nuzzled the large female, a familiar rumble coming from him that she would be able to hear & feel but the girls upon her back clearly missed. "We fly now, aye luv?"

Valefor nodded and motioned for Aear to go ahead and take off ahead of her. It was for his safety, really... the backwash from her wings was a lot more powerful than it had been in the smaller kitsu body. Once her passengers were safely aboard and Aear was safely in the air she gave a triumphant screech and launched herself into the air, the air of her passage making the tree branches whip around and the fences rattle.
Once high enough she switched to thermal gliding, enjoying the whip of the wind in her scaly feathers. Ah... she hadn't gotten to take leisure flights in her previous life very often, and the feeling was... pure joy. She would save the acrobatics for after she'd deposited the girls by the stadium, though.
The flight only took a few minutes and she turned into tighter and tighter corkscrew turns until she landed on the rail around the outer edge of the walkway surrounding the stadium. She landed with her back to the building so the girls could climb down her tail, which was safer, and so she could take off directly.
She turned her yellow eyes to Trel, deciding it was best to ask whether the woman could still "hear" her or not, just in case. How long before I need to pick you up? She knew the woman would have things to attend to sooner or later and didn't want to keep her too long if it could be helped.

Aear could be obedient when he chose, and he trusted Valefor. Taking off before her he looked to watch her rise, a pleasurable rumble vibrating his body. This is what he had picked up from her. This otherworldliness. This power. The sailor made a vow that whomever earned the right to be her mate had better ... well there was a lot. Too much to list idly.
The Rikkus turned their faces eagerly into the wind. "Better than the Celcius!" The Audio called out gaily, the voronwe eagerly barking her agreement. Trel's eyes were bright & wide now, looking out over Zanarkand as it felt to move beneath them rather than the other way around. All were somewhat disappointed for it to end but eagerly slid off to explore the blitzball stadium. Trel blinked, catching the thought though she was not in the state she was before and mentally adjusting to believing it had been spoken aloud. She gave the aeon a warm smile. "When you're ready to go back. The house can run without me for a while & Aiden will take care of Theron should he get up from his nap before we're back. And if we really need to go, I'll contact AearHwesta on the communicator." With a wink Trel tapped in front of her right ear.

Valefor nodded to the girls and emitted a rumble that sounded like her version of a laugh. The bathrooms should work if you really have to go. Might want to check first though. Even her 'tone' was teasing.
She motioned for the girls to back up a bit before launching herself skyward once more, making a couple of idle cirles around the top of the stadium before making a soft cry to Aear and heading toward the glittering sparks of sunlight reflected off the sea. There would be no boat here for Aear to sail in... at least not unless they decided to commandeer one of the currently ownerless ships in the harbor at some point. She herself would have to figure out how to control the transformation before it would be safe for her to board a ship on this side of the door. But all that aside...
It was the sea air filling her lungs and the fragrance of the strange tear-drop shaped white blooms lining the cliffs that finally started to settle some of the disparate and agitated emotions that had been floating around inside of her of late. Home was a powerful thing, and it filled her with a joy that was ill disposed toward being contained. Out over the water just past the entrance to the harbor she engaged in an aerial display of loops and twirls and rolls that would have put a courting hawk to shame simply for the joy of dancing on her beloved winds.

Trelweny laughed as if to some unknown thing, subconsciously catching Valefor's thoughts but unable to actually 'hear' and knowingly remember them. She waved, jogging to catch up with the Rikkus who were chattering excitedly about the size of the stadium.
The Angelic kitsu stayed airborne throughout the drop-off. Airborn & quiet. His russet gaze remained on the aeon.
He whirled through the air to follow her, a smile reforming on his maw at the familiar yet odd smell of sea air. Aye, it was the sea. Joy flicked in his eyes seeing the harbor & her boats grow beneath them as they neared. Odd crafts, some of them, unlike any ship AearHwesta had seen before.
And then he was lost in the wild beauty of Valefor's dance. It would have been beautiful in any form... but what really brought the life to it was the female's pure joy. Brought life and beauty to the dance and a small ache in the sailor's heart. He had thought he had brought her joy... but seeing this, the ladies' kitsu knew he had never given her any joy even close to meet its match.
Yet he was only sad for his lack. He loved the lasses; wanted them to be happy. So he was delighted that Valefor was here... the happiest he had ever seen her. Russet eyes shone with love at the scene. Not true love, but love nonetheless.
"Ah luv... ye're a sight to behold in any shape." The sailor said softly, not expecting her to hear.

Slowly Valefor's dance shifted from sheer exuberance to something purposeful, though it was no less artful. And now she danced for Aear; maybe she heard him, maybe not, but it was obvious she picked up on his ache. And then she did something she'd never done for anyone before and began to sing. The Aeon's cry of hawk and bell then also took on something of a whale's haunting calls, a melody that would have been unearthly even back on the true Spira. She could not speak to him in words right now, but even so she did her best to convey the message. This is for you, dear Aear. I still had friendship, but I had forgotten love, and you taught me love again. No one else can ever take THAT place in my heart.

The sailor knew something of this dance, though the moves were new to him. Heart & body ached for the the female in more ways than one. At the same time, AearHwesta knew he was experiencing something so profound and beautiful there would never be anyway he could describe it. Even to himself. The sound was haunting lovely.
He ached for her & for himself, as something within him -body or heart or both he could never tell- seemed to pick up on her silent message. Perhaps it was that she was female. Or the dance. Or simply that he had loved her as no one else, even with all the females he had loved in his life. Other than Valefor, only Seer could sway his heart so. And they were both so beyond his reach when the cards were on the table. I not be made for family life, luvs. Much as I might want it. For ye & she... ye deserve much better than me. But we can share a dance... whenever ye wish Valefor-luv. Until some lad fills yer heart... an' can give ye the family ye deserve tha' I cannot... His russet eyes were moist. Slowly he flew to join the dance. Offering, but not pushing, a partnered dance.

Valefor smoothed her dance to join Aear's, and for some time she sang as they danced. Then an idle glance above told her something strange, for Kitsyn had described to her how time never seemed to change in the recreated places. But the sun had moved, perhaps not so much that it was immediately attention... but she just knew, and they'd been in here for probably almost an hour.
And then she felt something else and drifted out of the dance and down to a bluff above the sea, touching down shortly before the pireflies erupted again. The light was far more gentle this time as she slowly shrank back into her kitsu body, and she just sat there, looking thoughtfully up at the westering sun.
This place... it was almost like what the Fayth did with Zanarkand, and what caused Sin, but it was not fueled by death and sorrow and the lives of dreamers. It was a piece of something caught between Spira itself and the Farplane and the magic door, a piece of the past that was timeless and yet... here time would pass.
She knew Aear had joined her by now, and so she pointed upward. "It moves..." He would see, and know, and they could take a moment to share the marvel of a recreated place that seemed to be breaking all the previously known rules.

It was beautiful. Wonderful.
Aear nodded as he followed the aeon-who-was-once-more-a-kitsu's paw. He himself had little dealings with the magic door aside from the playroom for the young ones, preferring the seas and his Hiril Anorfalf -and the company of females though lately only being around Seer & Valefor herself curbed his loneliness. Still he knew of those places & rooms linked so far. "Aye. It moves. Like when we link to a place, nay created a room."
But something was not right. "But if we've linked to a place... where are the inhabitants?" The sailor looked confused over this.

Valefor considered it for several moments. "If we'd linked to the actual place, it would have been the ruins. But it's not. I thought I felt something strange when I was remembering... it's like this place is something inbetween the real Zanarkand, your door, and the Farplane - where the souls of the dead go in Spira. I was turned into a Fayth when I became an Aeon... it's more complicated than this, really, but my body was turned to stone, basically, and my soul bound between Spira and the Farplane, traveling back and forth between. In the Farplane, I was my original self, but on Spira I became the Aeon. In fact most of the survivors of Zanarkand became Fayth in an attempt to keep it alive through the Dream. The version of Zanarkand that Tidus comes from. They manifested Zanarkand, rather than an Aeon or anything like that..."
She mused silently to herself for several moments. "I'm still an Aeon. I'm still linked to the Farplane. I think in remembering the original Zanarkand when I made the door, it did something in-between linking to the actual place, and making a recreation... because of the Farplane magic." She looked over the empty cityscape. "And I didn't remember the people when I made the door. It would have been... painful, to see my friends and family again, after a thousand years and not being human any more. It would hurt whether they knew it was me or not. Especially since I doubt they'd be the real them... they'd be like the city, something between reality and a dream."
The city looked so empty, though. Perhaps... it would be better with people, to sail the boats and turn on the lights at night and make the city sparkle and live. And it would certainly give Trel's household an experience that went beyond merely interesting. "I think I could put people in it, though. But not anyone I was close to. It doesn't seem right to have this whole city here and have it empty, does it?"
