Edward huffed indignantly as he sat back on his haunches and gave Ronan an even stare when he started whining himself, about leaving. "We're waiting for Lilianna" he said matter-of-factly. Obviously the guy didn't know... he wondered if he'd even known anything about the little love triangle... probably not. All the same, he would wait tell he was asked before relinquishing information. Edward wouldn't be going anywhere without Lily.

A pause...before Ronan looked back and forth between Ed and Setsumi. "Hold the phone." The adult lifted himself up, raising a skeptical brow. "He's going with us? With another kitsu?" A lady friend of sorts it seemed. Didn't matter much to Ronan. "I thought this was something else Setsumi."
Her head nudged to the side, glancing quickly at Ronan before resting forward on her paws once more. "Nothing to worry about. They're coming." She closed her eyes, ignoring the rest of his words. He'd understand that was her own way of saying drop it. Besides, it was nothing more than a vacation of sorts.

Well Ed wasn't about ready to drop it as he stared at Ronan, and then Setsumi with slight confusion. "Something 'else'?" Ed echoed, frowning a bit, "What was it supposed to be?" he asked, a glance being given towards Setsumi. Had there been something she wasn't telling him? He didn't know why Setsumi or Ronan had wanted to go on this trip, but Setsumi had invited him... and he invited Lily, to which she said was fine.

"Kid, don't you ever stop whining?" Ronan stretched lazily and sat down normally, enjoying the bird's eye view of the fullmetal. "It's just a vacation down memory lane, nothing to worry your little braid over."
Trust Ed to poke for more information than needed. Green eyes flitted to Ronan, allowing him to answer for her. She confirmed his words with a nod, smiling to Ed. "The final destination is a place long not visited. It's still nice enough for you and Lily to stroll around."

There was the faintest pop signifying an arrival as a kitsu apparated in front of headquarters. However it was not the one they were waiting for but a male, chocolate of fur & dressed in black wizarding robes over his suit with a gold and red scarf about his neck despite the summer weather. Dark eyes took in Edward with a quick note of appraisal and a soft nod before turning to the other adults with a polite and friendly air. "I apologize for the interruption. Ronan, good to see you again. And Miss Setsumi? I saw you when you visited our home but I don't believe we had a chance to speak. I thank you in advance."
Slowly he turned his head so he could see all three of them. "Liliana will be here soon, I imagine. I would like to talk to Edward before that time." His gaze focused on the alchemist. "Alone or right here, Edward. Whichever you prefer."

Ronan was given a glare... he wasn't whining! However, Setsumi's explanation caused him to look thoughtful for a moment, before he smiled, "Oh... well if you're sure." He didn't want her to feel obligated about them coming along if she'd rather not, but well... he didn't expect Setsumi would tell them 'no' anyway. And if it was as they said, then there was really nothing to worry about.
However, Ed's attention soon turned to the arriving kitsu and he blinked... surprised to say the least to see Lilianna's father. "Evening... uh... Mr. Lupin?" He'd never addressed him formally and didn't want to be rude. "Sure... here is fine." He didn't expect anything spoken was of a private nature if Remus was giving him the option, and Ed trusted the both of them... even if Ronan could be a pain.

The colorful male twisted at the pop, blue stripes stretching when he finally found the source. It took but a moment for him to recognize the face before he gave a cheery grin. "Hey, the doctor is in th house. I still owe you and Ginny much for helping me." He soon plopped himself on the couch with Setsumi, leaning against the arm rest with ears perked.
Her chin finally left her paws when the cloaked kitsu made an appearance. A soft smile crossed her maw. "Remus Lupin. It has been awhile." Ah, the father of the daughter who claimed Ed's heart. Clouded ears flickered and eyes glanced down at Ed. Seemed it was time for that talk. Interesting.

Flicking an ear he nodded simply at Ronan with a soft "you are welcome." Tails flicked with a smile to the female, softly saying "yes, a while." Of course Remus Lupin did not want to be rude but at the same time he wanted to finish speaking to the teen before Lily and her impromptu 'escort' arrived. "Edward, you know you are like family to us." A small grin & a slight huff with a glimmer in his eye that indicated he was speaking of before this latest development. "Perhaps that is why we did not see your feelings for Liliana before this started. Or perhaps because you did not permit yourself to feel them. I do not know. But then it matters little, now. Does it? Though considering everything, it is difficult to determine if either of you are rushing things now."
Banded tails flicked. "What transpired between you is between you, but... Well I am certain you understand how very fast things must have happened today." Remus had caught some of his daughter's discontent the last week or so. In the way she was quiet when home, In the way her head would tilt thinking she heard Ed's voice, in the way she did not seem to ever be reading. So he was disappointed that she did not stick to her decision, yet at the same time glad she found out now rather than after certain displays of mately affection had transpired.
His gaze did not waver from the smaller male's golden eyes. "I know you have skills. I understand you have experience traveling both here & before. Liliana has skills, but for that one bout with the one called Envy she is untested. It is my fault for letting her get that way, I suppose."
"But you... if you fully intend to be my daughter's mate you must be ready to protect her. And I do not refer to only the physical."

Edward listened carefully, the teen being fully attentive and serious as Remus spoke what was on his mind. He hadn't really thought about it, but he knew that this talk would have come sooner or later. He was glad that Remus caught them before they left.. and felt somewhat guilty for making him come out here at such short notice. But well.. hind sight is 20/20 as they say.
Boy did he know about how things had happened quickly today. He wasn't sure he'd really recovered from it yet, although Ed's spirits had certainly lifted by now. He couldn't read minds, but he had an idea what Remus must be thinking at this moment. Likely shocked with Lily's shifted decision, and the fact that she would be traveling away from home.
Once Remus had finished speaking, Edward straightened himself and looked Lily's father in the eye. Determination shone in Edward's golden gaze, and confidence.
"I'll do my best to protect her, in every sense of the word. She means the world to me."
He would never intentionally allow any harm to come to Lilianna.. be it mental or physical, and he didn't want to be the one to cause any sort of pain in her either. He loved her... fully, completely, and unconditionally.

Blue paws hung over the edge of the couch as Ronan joined Setsumi in pose. So, Ed was going out with the one named Lily? Heh, when had all this transpired? Ears teetered like balances at this topic, one he never heard and frankly, hoped to never give. A shudder cut through him with a twitch to his maw. Let's...not travel with those thoughts, shall we. Tails inched about ever now and then in a curl, waiting for the two to finish their conversation.
A smile flitted to Setsumi's lips. Spoken like a true father. Bravo to the gentleman. She was pleased at Edward's response. Nothing cocky, just determination and honesty. She only hoped that other goals in his life wouldn't distract that devotion. Like it had to others. Eyed blinked and turned with a smirk to Ronan. Obviously, this was a speech he'd never once heard.

He is much like Harry when like that. The father thought with a slight grin, liking the determination and loyalty he saw in his new son-in-law's golden eyes. In truth, Remus felt both of Liliana's options in a lifemate were good ones. Endless of course perhaps more like Remus himself, both bearing the pain of things that had happened to them in their lives, Edward more of a spitfire. What mattered to the concerned father most was his daughter: her overall happiness, & security. He and Nari had talked of the three's dilemma, and though they felt sympathy for all involved it was their daughter they would support though neither was much pleased that she had changed her mind. More that she had changed it than the choice itself.
But his thoughts were circling again. My dear Liliana... I feel I've failed you in raising you to have brought such pain into your life. Both fine males... I pray in your choice you will find in time the joy & peace I share with your mother...
He nodded at the teen, fondly. Almost affectionately. Edward was so different from any of his own flesh kits, but by matter of proxy he was now one. Still Remus worried that the juvenile though older than Hemi had not yet reached his full growth. But Ed's confidence showed a hint of the teen's full maturity. The wizard was content. Liliana would learn much she needed to on this journey with him. "I suspected as much, Son."

Hearing Remus' words, Edward's expression changed completely. Eyes growing slightly large and ears tilting back as he called him 'son'. One thing that Edward had always lacked in this life and the last... was a good father figure. Hearing those words, truely touched him to the core of his being. It made him feel... like he had a home to come back to.
A soft, and thoughtful smile then look over his expression. He really didn't know what to say, so he just nodded. He really didn't care to get all emotional here and now. Eventually Ed did find his voice, looking to Remus meaningfully, "I'll bring her back safely, I promise." And promises were not something that Edward took lightly. He was a kitsu of his word.
He was just starting to realizing just how lucky he was. Not only did he have Lilianna in his life... but he was now a part of her family. Even before, they had helped and supported him. He owed them all a great deal.

Ronan watched the conversation quietly, intrigued by the topic. How touching, it made him almost gag. His maw lifted in a silly grin as his tails moved to rest at his side. Wasn't the household the Ginny lived in packed with a family of kitsus? Seemed it just got bigger by two. He silently congratulated the shrimp, but showed no physical display of such. Merely a yawn and a chin to his paw.
A nice little title, one Ed had been neglected for so long. Setsumi smiled while looking between the two. Remus was the perfect model to be the tempered boy's father. She could imagine his delight in the bond, seeing she herself was taking joy in this moment. Eyes widened slightly, and the femme chuckled softly. "I take it that Lily has no idea of your location, Remus?" Too bad, maybe this encounter would have filled her with ease after so much conflict.

"See that you do." He said softly, then stepped forward to give the teen a light hug. "And you too." Drawing back he gave Setsumi a grin that was rather impish for the usually sedate scholar. Banded tails swayed behind him errantly, and an ear flicked lightly. "Correct, Miss Setsumi. She had other farewells to attend to after leaving home, and I did not wish that either Liliana or Hemi know of my intentions." Remus' smile was almost wily.

Slightly surprised by the hug he recieved from Remus, Edward returned it in like manner. Again nodding slowly as the words reached his ears, "I will." They would all come back safely, Edward would do his best to see to it.
Sitting back, the alchemist looked between his father-in-law and his adoptive mother as they spoke. Raising his brows as he realized Lilianna didn't know of this visit, and that she was saying her own farewells. He had a good idea of who were recieving them.
