((sorry, pretty much after 7 or so i can't come on at all cause its so frigin hot and my computer tends to die on me...))

Sasha carefully looked over all the items, but didn't see anything that she thought she really needed. Not that she coud afford half the items. She would need to find a way to make some more money.

"I don't suppose you've seen anyone new around here lately? I mean besides me and my friend? I was supposed to be meeting another friend here, but he hasn't showed up yet, and you have such a fine establishment, I'm sure that if he was in town, he would have come here." Flattery almost always worked when information was needed, and it was certainly a lot cheaper than bribery. Not that she had enough to really bribe someone, and it could be that this killer had never even come into town.

[Nice idea.]

The old man frowned, deep in thought. Then, with a sigh, he shook his head.

"Nah, I'm sorry, miss. Ain't seen anyone lookin' for ya. I woulda known if a stranger'd come into town..."

[Kunai, if she doesn't become a little more active, you may need to change your tactic. Moving to Subania will get you a lot more personal attention. And though it may be nice to bag the little pyromancer, you never know what beneifts being alone might bring. Just a thought.]

Well that idea flopped. Sasha let out a long sigh, and than gave a quick smile to the old man before leaving. She walked slowly towards the road that led away from the town and back North. She doubted that anyone else had seen any strangers if the owner of the general store hadn't, so their was no point in hanging around.

Maybe she would miraculasly stumble onto his camp or something. She was pretty sure he came from the North, maybe even New York City. Their was nothin to the South except for her old town, but if he'd come from that way it would have been much easier to kill Renzt on the trail when there was no one else around. She seriously doubted that she was the target, although it could have been Rob. He could still be feeling a little touchy over what had happened, but he was too much of a wuss. He would just tell his friends that Sasha had left from far or something.

Maybe the killer was still even nearby. Maybe he had arrived too late at night to find Renzt, so he had waited till this morning. Maybe he was still getting ready to leave! Sasha decided to just go around the town once. It was small and wouldn't delay her trip by much. If she didn't find anything, she would just continue on, but if she found him, well she wasn't sure what she would do yet, but one thing at a time.

With a plan firmly in mind, Sasha started to walk around the village.

[Ooh! I can't wait to see the plan in action. Nice post, BTW.]

The town was nice and quaint. Walking around gave her a great view of what it had to offer her...

Sadly, there were no libraries. Only...guild...factions?

Hm...

What was there....? Hm.

THE ILLUSIONARY AND DELUSIONARY

THOR'S HAMMER

THE FUN HOUSE

HALL'S ARROW

Okay. Not bad. There was also an armory nearby...

KRIS' BLACK ANVIL

Okay. Nice. So...what else did she need to find around town?
PostPosted: Sun Jul 08, 2007 1:09 pm

((I have to go, I should be back on in a couple of hours, sorry! crying ))

Well, maybe she would just take a quick break and look at one of the local factions. She had never been in one before, but these looked interesting. Maybe if she joined one, they would help her find her mysterious killer. Of course, they might just be like big clubs, because how big of one could there really be in a village of this size. Maybe these were just branches, but she would never find out unless she chose one.

She finally headed towards Hall's Arrow because it looked like they might have some expirement in fighting, and in her opinion, arrows were way better than hammers.

HALL'S ARROW

The guild HQ was much smaller than the front gave on. However, it seemed like the main room to which she entered really wasn't more than a front, concealing the rest of the building. It was a nice little cabin, decorated with mantles of numerous animals and beasties...it was also surprisingly warm in there...weird.

Right in front of her was what seemed to be a reception desk of sorts. At the front, boredly staring at the floor, was a teenage girl, not much older than Sasha. Her blonde pigtails and bubblegum lipgloss gave off the impression that she wasn't exactly there to hunt.

As Sasha entered the room, she sat up in her chair, revealing a door that lie behind the desk...which most likely led to whatever riches and wealth of knowledge this guild hard to offer. Smacking her lips and waving unenthusiastically, the girl greeted her newest customer.

"Hey. What do you want?"

Wow. What customer service.

"So what's so special about Hall's Arrow? Why should I join this faction as opposed to, say the Fun House?" Sasha asked, getting right to the point. No reason to be circumspect about it. Maybe this was a bad idea. She really had never even known anyone in a faction, she heard of some that were really violent, although that was what she needed at the moment. Better just stick with it.

Before the receptionist could answer her first question, Sasha went on asking "Is this the only building for Hall's Arrow? How many poeple are here? Why that name exactly?" She finally realised thatnone of her questions had been answered and stopped talking and just looked at the girl pleasenlty.

((Sasha))

The girl rolled her eyes and droned,

"This is one of 4 franchises for Hall's arrow. To become a member, you need to have killed 10 monsters, or participated in their hunting. We currently have 178 members across the country, have 5 open quests for beginners, and specialize in bowmanship and hunting skills. When you join, you will be able to switch your job to Hunter and take the Hunter exam. If you pass, you will gain that skill set.

*sigh*

In addition, we sell cheap hunting supplies, give free combat advice and bestiarial tips, and all members gain an automatic +4 bonus to their DEX and AGI, while experiencing a -3 defecit in INT. Any questions?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 08, 2007 5:37 pm

Well then. That certainly wasn't going to do. She hadn't even killed 5 monsters. Maybe by the next town she came too she would have all the requisite kills, but not yet. "No questions, thankyou."

With that she left to conitnue to circulate the town. She was pretty sure that she didn't have anough of anything to join any of the factions, and she doubted that they would help her with her killer anyways. The likelyhood of finding him was growing smaller every minnute she didn't see him, and all that time spent inside Hall's Arrow meant that he had almost for certain left already. But what the heck, it couldn't help to look. She wandered on a little bit more before spotting the armory. Her 50$ would not pay for much, but there would be more poeple to ask about her, ah, friend. So on to the armory!

The wait was long and dull. It was always long and dull. As usual, it gave him a chance (unfortunately) to think. Janus's thoughts shifted to the dream he'd had, and instantly regretted it. Whatever visions spackled into his mind were mere nothings, he assured himself.

Something about it was getting to him, though. This freak girl was like him. Well, not really. Nobody was like him. She was kinda like him, though. And the more he waited, the more he began to feel guilty. For some reason, Janus couldn't help but feel that Freak Janus was winning. That he really was just a heartless, bizarre, outcast freak.

I feel for ya, girl. I feel for ya.

Janus was shocked for a moment, then shook the warm feel from his mind. What the hell was he thinking? There was nothing he could relate to this chick.

I can't take her back.

She'd be a nuisance, Janus justified to himself. A goddamn thorn in my side. She's not worth my time, not worth the trouble. He'd probably have his knife embedded firmly between her shoulder blades before he could deliver her. Wouldn't do any good to damage the delivery.

"You're in luck, girl," Janus said in a low voice, "changed my mind before I could get the job done."

A stomach's growl served to punctuate his sentence. Sadly, he'd have to go a little longer without a meal.

The merc hobbled over to the cart, started it up, and settled himself in the best he could.

Then he hauled a** towards Jona's little "hotel".
