She looked back over to him, wondering the reason for his question. She shook off the feeling, it was too late to ask him drilling questions.
"Yes, I plan on staying in the pridelands for a while. Eaither untill I get mt strength back, or untill I feel the need to go somewhere." She yawned, her mouth opeaning wide. "That pribably won't be for a while though." she said as she scratched her ear, "I've been away from this place for too long."

Habu listened carefully to what she said, trying to keep himself awake. It wouldn't be good to fall asleep now, he was talking to someone and that would be very rude, for one. For another, he guessed it would do about as much good as it had when he'd decided to go for a walk.
"Oh," he murmured, trying to think of another relevant question, "Where's your favorite place you've been?"

"Out of all the places?" She thought. "Man, that's a hard one." She laughed lightly. "I'd have to say the mountains." She thought back on the cool temperature, and the beautiful scenery when the sun set across the ridges.

Habu offered a smile as she thought about it, intently trying to guess what her answer might be. He always loved the Pridelands himself, and what he's seen and felt of other areas were mostly from his visions, and they were so scattered and strange he couldn't say he knew much about them. Such thoughts only reminded him of why he wasn't able to sleep tonight.
"What about the mountains puts them above the rest?" he asked curiously and in a low voice, closing his eyes and trying to envision it based upon what he knew, "The mountains you just came back from?"

She smiled at the thought, and closed her eyes, imagining she was back. "The air was cool, and he grass grew tall, taller than it was here. And it was the most beautiful shade of green." She breathed in the cool night air.
"And there was rain. The coolest rain would fall almost all the time." She smiled and opened her eyes to look over to him. "The beautiful colors that danced over the ridges. Pinks and oranges as the sun set."

Habu remained quiet as she decribed the scenery, the tall grass, the rain and the sunset. His eyes stayed shut as he formed a mental image of what she described, using her words and his own experience. Slowly, his eyes opened again and he had a mysterious smile on his face. Between his uneasy mind and his fatigue, he was very pleased to find that his imagination was the limit for how he saw these mountains. It wouldn't have surprised him if he'd been thrown into a random trance, and that would have been frustrating and awkward.
"It sounds nice," he said, "You're very good with descriptions, Jina. I could hardly say anyhing about the jungle other than how it has a lot more trees."

"Thank you." She said as she met his eyes. It was the first time she accuially looked into them. It was now that she noticed that he had two different colored eyes. One that matched hers, and one that looked like a cloudless sky.
She shook the feeling off, "It's nice to sit down and talk to someone. I haven't been able to in quite some time. It's nice to have your company Habu." She said softly.

Habu laughed at the compliment, glad he wasn't too uninteresting to talk to despite the time of night and his near lack of conversation material. He got a lot of questions about his eyes, but tonight he didn't seem to notice her noticing the odd colors.
"I'm glad I stumbled into you tonight," he replied brightly, "Probably the best way to spend a sleepless night." Good conversation was certainly much better than tossing and turning in pointless efforts to get some sleep.

"I'm glad I ran into you too." She nodded, feeling a bit flattered by the comment. She then seemed a bit perplexed by his statement.
"You weren't able to sleep?" She asked, her eyebrow furrowing. "Mind if I ask why?" The only times she wasn't able to fall asleep was when she had nightmares of her father passing or the disappearance of her mother. She hated those dreams, they always made her feel like a cub when she was at her weakest.

Habu smiled at her until he was asked about his inability to sleep, at which he looked a somewhat embarassed. He didn't mind her asking, and he didn't put too much thought into what the best way to answer would be. He didn't know how to explain it entirely without sounding a little crazy- unless she knew about gods and seers. Habu was related to a god and a seer himself and he hadn't known much about it until recent times.
"It's a long story," he answered first with a shrug, "I've been having some intense dreams and nightmares lately."

She looked down, "I hate nightmares.." She said sadly. She couldn't imagine what he was going through, and thought it too much of a personal question to ask what the dreams were about. If he wanted to, he would share. She wouldn't pry into his personal life.

Habu frowned at her comment. He was certainly of similar mind when it came to nightmares, they were awful and very personal. His "nightmares" didn't even make sense, so he could hardly provide an example to continue a conversation about it.
"I agree, especially when they are persistent," he nodded matter-of-factly, wanting to add non-sensical to that list as well but quite sure that nightmares very often defy logic. "It's times like that you miss having someone like your mother around to make it better." Mothers always knew how to make you feel better, and having someone to comfort you often helped with nightmares.

She nodded lightly. She missed her mother. Her warm red fur, her strange ways of life. She believed that everything had a purpose. Her mother had taught her to thank the animal for supplying her with food.
"My mother left me when I was still a cub." She said sadly. "She left me with my father, I hanven't seen her since. I miss her hugs."

Habu frowned when he heard how her mother had left when she was a cub. He knew he was lucky to have known his mother so well, and he appreciated the time he'd had with her before she'd gone off.
"My mother left not long after I was getting too big to keep calling a cub," he said with a small sigh, "I guess that just happens sometimes. At least our fathers were still around." Habu glanced off in the direction he had come from, where he still stayed with his father. It wasn't quite the same as having your mother around, though. When he turned back to Jina, Habu offered a meek smile and tried to think of a way to lighten the conversation once again.

She gave him a light smile. "Yeah." She remembered the times she had with her father. "My father taught me how to hunt." She laughed lightly, remembering the sight of a full grown lion trying to catch a gazelle on his own. "He was more teaching himself and me at the same time." She looked back to him with a smile. "He had a hard time in the beginning. He was always able to make me laugh."
