LordEon
Wow, you've all got really neat and cute character pics... Mine's just a bit plain still... And naked. o.รณ
Ahem! I'm Eon, an 18-year-old student from Nottingham (in the UK) on his gap year, who spends far too much time on his computer and not enough time looking for a real job. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I work(for nothing) in a local charity shop for two hours in the evenings, which can be quite enjoyable... But I'd sooner do a job that actually pays. :p
I've been a Sonic fan since around 1993 when I think the AoStH series started in the UK, and gradually my knowledge of the Sonic universes has expanded since then to encompass all of the mainstream Sonic universes (Japanese, European, and American) to some degree. It's hard to pick favourites, and they've shifted over time, but I'd say I like the gaming universe best (which is implied by the fact that my sprite comic is primarily based on that universe, albeit altered somewhat to suit my own designs).
My sister owned a Master System with about two games once, and I think I played on it more than her. I myself got a Gamegear with Sonic Chaos (Sonic & Tails), but could never finish it and now I've misplaced both. Eventually I got a Megadrive (Genesis) off a friend who let me borrow it for so many years that by the time he had a Playstation he didn't want it back, so I got to keep it. The collection of games that came with it were just a little more impressive than the Master System and Gamegear. Finally, in February 2001 I got a Dreamcast, exclusively to get Sonic Adventure, because it was on offer, and luckily Sonic Adventure 2 came out that very June. However, had I known that both games were going to be ported to the Gamecube and that the Dreamcast was about to die, I might've excercised some patience. Got a Gamecube with Sonic Heroes this year, and I'm hoping to get some more games for Christmas.
As for comics, I collected over 100 issues of Sonic the Comic, but stopped getting it at #200, because I was wasting money on stories I already had once it went reprint. Despairing of StC at that time, I came upon Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog in Forbidden Planet in January 2001 and became a regular customer there, though by summer 2002 I was collecting the new Transformers comics, not StH, which I'm sorry to say was disappointing. I guess I was hoping for a comic book version of SatAM.
Anyway, yeah, I have more interests than just Sonic. My other great obsessions are Transformers (which I've loved even longer than Sonic, so long I can't remember not loving them), and anything written by JRR Tolkien. His world is a fascinating place and I love reading his works. Besides that, I enjoy a good read, I have a wide taste in music (just not stuff where the artists insist on screaming into the mic or swearing every other line), I like various films too (my tastes aren't really genre-specific with them). My long term career ambition is to rule the wor--Ahem! become a journalist or reporter of some kind. It'll become clearer when I've been to university I hope.
Anyway, I'm done now, so you can wake up. :p
