A year or 2 ago they had a Rugrats show where you could move anywhere you wanted as long as you where in your spot on a certain count. I would have loved to be in that one.

In my band we always watch old drum corps tapes in the hopes that we'll absorb some of their style. They've had some pretty neat shows, though I can't recall the specifics off the top of my head. sweatdrop
My favorite show to have marched in was last years, when we did John Barnes Chance's 'Incantation and Dance' and 'Variations on A Korean Folksong'. At the climax of the closer we had the color guard bring out one of those parade dragon things - it was hidden under a cover on back field - and then it exploded into a dozen flame flags. The looks on the audiences' faces were priceless. biggrin

I'd have to say my fave one was one that my high school did. It was Harry Potter, they all got whiplash, I was an eighth grader

LuckyDan Who was it in the DCI last year that did the 007 show? That thing kicked some royal rear. As for performing, my favorite set was the one I did freshman year... If you guys know Rhythm and Brass, the main percussionist (David Gluck) came in and worked with us on a pilot of his Dark Side of the Moon/Wizard of Oz show. It was a *lot* of fun, not to mention I'm a little partial to it, as it was my first year of marching. Cavies 04 and my favorite shows are scv 04 "ATTRACTION: The music of scherezade" and oregon crusaders 05 sands of time, and phantom regiment 05 rhapsody in blue/american in paris

I liked Westfields show two years ago. They had like 12 bassons grooving on a platform. Then there is UMass with their 16 + sousas.

I'd have to say the coolest one that I've ever seen was in my freshman year. UMass Amherst did a Gladiator show, complete with a fight sequence.

There was this awesome show last season...Marion County. It was called 'Passions'. At the very beginning, there's only one sax player...and then the rest of band appears out of nowhere and the guard has these huge flags, and everyone was like eek whoa....

Not exactly a field show, but I went to see my former private teacher's drumline perform at an indoor percussion competition. One school had emos playing guitar. Awesome to the possum. The rocking-est of the other schools (Not the one I was rooting for) did a performance honoring Dimebag Darrell, based on some of Pantera's music. It was a-freaking-mazing. As a boy behind me said (mimicing the judges speaking into their little tape recorders that mean so much to our happiness) "That performance was too good for words. I give them a score of a bazillion."
