"No, I don't need anything." She told him seriously. His tough-stallion 'I'm fine's were starting to irk her just a tiny bit. She figured he didn't want to trouble her with his needs but she could see he wasn't 'fine'. "My two-legger might come for me." She added softly as she laid her head down. "There won't be much she can do...but I don't want her to startle you." She said as she tried to stifle a yawn. "I owe you quite a lot. Thank-you." Flower added.
Then it dawned on her. She didn't know his name. Well that most certainly wouldn't do! But it was only polite to offer one's own name first. "I'm Flower...by the way...might I know the name of my rescuer?" She asked quietly, her eyelids heavy.

"Copper." he said with a nod and a polite smile. "Lovely name 'ya got there miss. Fits 'ya well." he said and nudged extremely lightly. "Rest yourself now....Wanna lullabye?" he asked happily. He had always loved lullabyes. They calmed the young and even the old at times. He certainly found them comforting. He carefully curled his own body around her little one to keep her warm and prepared a song if she wanted one.

She smiled softly as she laid her head down. "Mm. Sure that'd be lovely...thank-you." She murmured, her voice thick with drowsiness. She'd indulge herself just this once in something so foal-like. His speaking voice was soothing so, she assumed his singing voice would be even better. She wondered what songs he knew and if they'd be different than the ones she'd grown up with. They probably were since they came from different places. Her muscles began to slowly relax, she felt more secure all ready.

Copper took a breath and began his song, "Hush-a-bye don't you cry, Go to sleep, little baby. When you wake you shall have All the pretty little horses. Blacks and bays, dapple grays, Coach and six white horses. Hush-a-bye don't you cry, Go to sleep, little baby." It was a short song but when he was done he was already yawning. He knew his voice had not been good in some places but he was happy with the song. Out of all the songs he'd sang, this one was his favorite. He didn't know why.

Half way through the song Flower's eyes had slipped closed and her breathing slowed to a much deeper and rhythmic rate that would suggest sleep. She owed this stallion her life, and she would do everything in her power to repay him properly in the morning.
She never knew a stallion could possibly ever make her feel safe and secure, let alone one she just met. Friendship, she found, was attainable if one were careful in their choices of company but seeing this side of a male opened a whole new world of possibilities to her. It may not have seemed like much to him, but through his kindness and song he opened a whole new world for her.
