He KNEW that he liked this mare. She might not be the flashiest thing on four legs, but there was a certain spark to her that he was certainly liking. And here he'd thought he was just going to have a quiet snack in solitude! Shame on him for excessive pessimism!
"Considering I have no toes, your task will either be insanely impossible, or else easier than you can possibly imagine, Nanala-Chica. But I can understand your desire to have me where you can see me, considering what a fetching speciman of stallion I am."
As he spoke, Guilian struck a somewhat dramatic pose with his neck arched, one front leg lifted slightly, and his wings half-spread; he'd always been a dramatic one, and liked to make an impression as he could. However, he only held that pose for a few breif moments before returning to his causal stance as though he'd never left it, innocently querying of the mare, "So, do you live in this region, Chica? I haven't seen you before, but I'm a bit of a transient when it comes to this neck of the woods myself, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything."

As he posed she tried to keep herself from laughing but after almost snorting she just had to laugh. Had she been the impressionable sort she could have fallen for a scene like that but as it was the image was just funny. He was impressive, she had to give him that, but with the wings he looked too much like a preening bird for her not to think it funny.

"Well, you'll never know until you try!"
As Nanala burst into laughter, Guilian found himself chuckling as well, her slightly muffled snickers inspiring his own deeper rumblings. At the same time, though, he at least ATTEMPTED to look serious, shaking a wing at her in mock disaproval. "What, you find me laughable, Chica? I swear, you have hurt my feelings beyond all repair and now my self esteem has been shredded! You ought to be ashamed of yourself."
Luckily he had back-up esteem!
"Ah, so it is the family connection, eh? Have you been successful at finding your brother yet, Chica, or are you still on the hunt? Am I a substitute in the meantime, or is this what you have left over?" Either was plausible, really! And he wasn't going to complain, regardless.

"And try i shall." She managed to stop laughing and grinned at him.
"I couldn't have hurt it that bad. Big strong stallion like you must have plenty to spare. Or..." Her grinned turned playful. "If you ask nicely maybe i'll glue it back together for you."
The wings were amusing when he used them as the two leggers used hands. She never would have thought they could be used like that.
"I have found him. Sadly his little love doesn't care too much for me and i didn't want to cause trouble between them." She was happy that Nuka had found someone. "Figures he'd find a girl who's got more bite than i do. You are the entertainment that i've run into while exploring."

Interesting mental image there; how WOULD one glue together esteem? That sounded extremely complicated...or rather, extremely silly! But silliness was healthy, and had it's place. Too much seriousness meant that everyone was grim all the time, and THAT...meant frowns. No thanks, smiles all the way!
Such as now, even while Nanala was discussing the complications of familial relationships. Not wanting to be the third wheel was something that he could understand, and kudos to her for the respect she was showing. Nodding as she spoke, Guilian tilted his head to one side attentively, only to laugh again as she ended with what HE was. "Well, Chica, if your brother is anything at all like you, I'd say he's need the fire to keep him in line. While there is much to be said about tempered passion, sometimes you just need someone as...intense (or lack thereof) as you are. And I'm the entertainment, eh?"
Now THERE was an amusing idea. He did so love to entertain...and be entertained, as the case might be. "Tell me, am I doing a decent job with this entertaining, Chica?" Smiling, he subtly moved closer, extending one wing tip as he did to gently run along the curve of her jaw. "Or do I need to step things up a bit?"

"I think it's more that both their fires keep each ther in line" From the way the mare had spoken she'd have bet she was just as bad as Nuka. "One starts getting a tempter and the other's there to get worse to make the other hush." It sounded perfect in a way.
As he brushed a wing against her she turned her head and nipped lightly at a feather. "You're being at least passably entertaining. Sure you can do more? Looks like you're trying your best." She grinned at him impishly. He was being entertaining after all but she could always do with more.
Besides he could come up with something she wouldn't think of.

Ah, romance of the monogamous sort. Far too complicated and risky for Guilian's blood, not when a tiff or a pregnancy could mean months of forced abstinence. How those stallions survived he had no idea, as he'd only managed a few days when Izusa had cornered him with HER news. Imagine being tied to that one mare for life! No thanks. Not when there was the whole world out there, filled with mares of all shapes, sizes, colors, and moods.
Like Nanala, for example. She was definitely an interesting mare, and if he'd committed monogamy with someone, he'd never have been able in good faith to have had this entertaining conversation, and certainly not anything more; therefore this was all under the category of 'thank goodness for independence.'
Chuckling as she nipped at his wing, he tapped her gently on the nose in a teasing reprimand, then ran the wing gently along her neck in a feathlight, teasing fashion. Her words were a challenge now, and a challenge was something he couldn't take lying down (metaphorically speaking, naturally). Leaning close, he whispered lightly into one ear, "Well Chica, we'll see how entertaining I can be then...and I'll show you just how possible it is to be interested in a WHOLE mare at once!"
How was that for a challenge?

This was defiantly worth running away from home. She'd have never gotten conversation and games like this with the herd she'd grown up with.
She snorted as he tapped her with a wing and her brow raised as he leaned closer and whispered to her. A challenge huh? She could match that one no problem. "You keep me entertained for more than five minuets and then maybe i'll believe you that you can be interested in more than one half of me at once."
She grinned at him and leaned up to playfully n** at his ear. If he was going to play dirty then she could too.

A challenge added onto a challenge. She certainly liked to up the ante, didn't she, little minx? Ah well, never let it be said of Guilian that he wasn't willing to go extra lengths to prove himself!
And just think, he'd actually thought (albeit briefly) that she was one of those markedly depressing mares who was all for monogamy. Sometimes, it was simply nice to be proven wrong.
"Only five minutes? Well Chica, we'll see how time treats you versus how time treats me, and see were we go from there..."

"So, Nanala-Chica, would you say you were suitably entertained?" Grinning, Guilian was once more perusing the raspberry bushes, his appetite back but not quite enough to make him forget his manners. "I'm pretty sure that was longer than your requistite amount of time, but it's always a good idea to get another opinion."

She generally didn't go for stroking stallions ego's but Guilian had most defiantly proved himself entertaining. "I don't know if i should tell your or not. Might make your ego so big it pops." She smirked at him before leaning down to get some of the berries for herself. She'd worked up an appetite after all that.
"Couldn't have that after all. Without it you might not be so amusing." Turning to look at him again she let her grin return. "I'd say it was plenty long enough"

Just the sort of thing he liked to hear. Unlike SOME stallions out there, Guilian prided himself on his attentiveness to the mares he spent time with, always striving to make things as enjoyable for them as possible. Even with Nanala's teasing, he knew that things had gone just fine.
"Contrary to your opinions, I'd say that my ego is exactly in proportion to what it should be, Chica; it's stood me in good stead thus far. Besides, it's an integral part of what I am, and who wants to deal with a stallion who's not all there?" Not him, that was for certain, even if he WAS that stallion. "But I'll take that as a positive, thereby conclusively indicating that it IS possible to like a mare for both her mind and her body, thank you very much." If he did say so himself.
But now that the gloating was over and the ever-present hormonal issue had been dealt with, he could get back to the conversational side of things; another difference between him and the 'leave as fast as possible' crowd. "So, what are your plans now, Chica? Are you going to hang around even though your brother's mare is...unique? Or do you plan on returning home?"

"Exactaly. It's perfectly proportioned as it is now so if i filled it anymore you'd just get all out of whack." She flicked her tail against is leg before turning slightly to munch at a bright red patch of berries. They were even more delicious after exercise of a sort.
"Why ever would i want to go back to nothing but the boys chasing after me for fun they're not going to get?" She stopped munching for a moment to look back at him. "Besides, no one at home could keep up with my conversation. I think i like it out here far more."
Going home would be boring and she didn't want boring anymore. She wanted fun and entertainment and whatever she could get out of life. It was all one big game and she was not about to loose it loafing around doing nothing.

"You say it like I can't improvise!" Guilian couldn't even fake the grumpy sound he'd been shooting for, he was still feeling to relaxed; instead, the words came off as a petulant mumble, if that. Then again, he was in a good mood, so why worry about intanglibles like mock-upset?
As she hit him with her tail, he stuck his tongue out at her, not particularly caring if she saw it or not as he himself turned back to nab another mouthful of berries. Savoring the sweetness of the fruit, he flicked one ear towards Nanala, listening with interest to her plans before cracking up.
"Fun they aren't going to get, Chica? Don't tell me that in your amusing little anti-love diatribe earlier you were actually discussing your previous situation?" How sad. Stallions had no right to act like rutting boars, not even when they were newly matured. "I can't say I blame you for leaving, if such was the case, Chica' hopefully you continue to find the rest of your time here pleasurable. It's certainly a nice place to live, with many fruit stands, rivers and lakes, woods...basically whatever you want. And the Soquili aren' that bad, either, if I do say so myself."

"You shouldn't try to sound put off when you're happily satisfied Guilian. It fails miserably." She snickered at his mock upset failing to come off how she assumed he hoped. It would be a sad way when a stallion could be upset after saying they'd had that sort of fun.
She didn't think it was necessary to inform him of everything about her past but she couldn't lie about that. "Unfortunately that's exactly what i came from. It was few and far between when someone bothered to wander toward our pastures that wasn't that way."
She already figured that this place had everything she'd want. After all her brother seemed happy and perfectly settled. That meant that she could roam around freely and find every sort of fun she could get into. "I'd say my experiences with the native company haven been pleasant so far. I'll just have to make sure that record sticks"

With a self-deprecating shrug, Guilian accepted her critique smiling. "Well, I try to be an honest stallion, Chica; that goes for expressions as well as works and actions, and it obviously stands. As for the rest..."
He tsked lightly, shaking his head in amazement at the idea of stallions like that existing. If either of his sons ever even THOUGHT of treating a mare so callously, he'd have cracked their skulls faster than they could say 'sorry.' Ah well, their own loss for their selfish behavior, and his gain. And Nanala's gain, while he was thinking about it!
"Well Chica, you seem the type to jump and and handle yourself; I have to admit that you lucked out in this encounter, meeting me..." Unable to resist the moment, he basked briefly in his own amazingness before continuing on with the same smug grin, "But there are others out there who will undoubtably provide you with company, companionship, and pleasant conversation. In some cases, you might even get all three!"
