Wasn't one of the Anime Physics rules something about the blood in people's bodies being extremely pressurized? Hence Mikami's little geyser.
Anyway, with the ending and all, it seems like Light was being shown as a tragic hero, having good intentions, but ultimately being undone by his pride, leaving him to die alone and defeated.

I really liked the ending. It really surprised me when Matsuda was the one to shoot at Light xD That was cool. And L was there!!! heart heart totally suspencful and at the same time sad I find. Light's a wacho but I felt bad for him too. If he had never stumbled across the Death Note he would be a normal guy. Mikami=very scary xDDD

I tried to not cry... But I still feel so awful...
As a manga the ending is different so there's no effect against me, but seeing Raito lying on the stairs... *crying*
The ending was great, but sad.
Everysingle series will have an end, and so has Death Note.

Haha, but it was surely fun to see Raito so energetic.
I didn't know Mikami was such a psycho O_o He kinda scared me...
I first was like "wtf O_o" when he pulled his finger off (or did he?...)
It has to be Near who killed Mikami, damn...

The blood geyser from Mikami really threw me off for a second...
Kind of reminded me of Kill Bill blood. XD
I actually cried...
I've always liked Light as a character and that one scene where he runs past an image of himself as high schooler was really intersting.
I got volume 12 today and I actually prefer the anime ending, even if the manga explained a bit what happens afterwards.

caffeine add!ction Angelyn_25 I loved the part where Raito laughed. Crazy.. Sounded a lot like Tamaki. (Ouran High School Host Club) Weird.. I can't believe only one person dubbed those two. I know. o_o There are bits where you couldn't believe they had the same voice actor, but then there are also scenes in the anime where he sounds exactly like Tamaki. And Mikami and Kyouya have the same voice actor, and Takada and Haruhi. xD It's a conspiracy. Really? I had no idea that Ouran and Death Note shared Seiyuu. Weird Yah Mikami really scred me. I felt srry for him though because Raito was Kami and then he totally lost it. You could see all logic and exsistance crumbling in Mikami's eyes. It was sad....for him.

The anime has a habit of overdoing a lot of dramatic moments. Mikami's death made me laugh. gonk
The overall ending of the anime was good. I understand they didn't have the option to finish out with a 'S/he died a year later blah blah blah'.
<3 Matsuda looked so damn cool.

Hmm...while both made me cry, because I'm such a shameless fangirl, I still prefer the manga ending. He got a very romanticized death in the anime, it doesn't suit how pessimisstic and nihilistic the series can be. And some fans have said that it seemed that Raito was redeemed at the anime end (I personally don't see it-realized the true effect of what he had become, yes, but redeemed? Not really-but each to their own), and the point is, Kira shouldn't be redeemed. If he was, it would've been Crime and Punishment instead (because Light-o is so much like Raskolnikov, and vice versa).
When I first saw Mikami's suicide, I was like: "...o.o" and then, "LOL IT'S KILLBILL!MIKAMI! 8D"
...I still want a refund on my swimming lessons, though. :/ Why didn't I get the whole package when I had paid for it? To blow off Auntie Em!

Jade the Hatless I thought it was good. FAVE parts: - Mikami bug eyed, teary, face closeup when Light is bleeding on the floor (you wanna scare kids? show them that) - When Near squeezes the little Kira doll and it makes a squelch and there is a close up on faces. Made me think of someone passing gas, and everyone trying to figure out who it was. -Near's "shocked" face when Mogi tells him NO! (awesome) It's different from the manga because in the manga Light does not runaway (And he talks way more in my opinion not that that's a good thing), they do not say Misa kills herself, Mikami does not kill himself until he is in jail, and Ryuuk says what he says out loud while in the warehouse(?) and takes Light's life there. I just wanted to say that. Anyway... Ha ha!! Yes, I loved those parts very much. Alot different from the manga. I liked the anime ending better, but that's just my opinion. I showed Mikami going crazy in episode 36 and 37 to one of my friends and she went crazy herself. Hold on, I saved the im.... Me:{linky to video} Her: OMG WTF WAS THAT!?? WTF ARE YOU WATCHING!!?? Me biggrin eath Note Her: My god! Dude... WTF is wrong with that guy!? Me: His name is Mikami, and he actually was cool in the other episdes, but seriously goes crazy. Isn't that Mamaru Miyano?? and I was right! And when I first heard Haruhi's voice I was like, "that sounds just like Takada! OMG! They used a girl for a guy's part!?" *watched the rest of the episode* "Oh... I see now..." But I didn't know Kyouya was Mikami... YAY!! But Mamaru Miyano kicks serious a**. I mean Raito and Tamaki? Seriously PWNs, plus he's incredibly hot... O.o
