Further ahead of the two travellers, Sakura and her bounded animal were playing a game of fetch to pass sometime before they felt like moving onward.

"Someone could have worned us about the heat," she moaned angrily, "Don't you agree Keichi."

Keichi let out a sort of barking laugh. he replied pointedly bringing back the stick.

Sakura sighed angrily and took the stick from him. "Ready to start moving again?" she asked.

Keichi looked at her with a frown in his eyes. he asked earnestly.

Sakura laughed, "Fine, but it's always just one more throw with you."

CLUNK. The arrowhead implanted it self firmly in the makeshift target. Faia smiled to herself as she went to recieve the five arrows.



Sky tossed her head, sending her gray mane flying.



Faia smiled at her partner as she ran a slender hand along Sky's back. Her hand was cushioned by the soft fur. She sighed and rested her head on the unicorn's back.



Sky snorted and turned her head back. Faia smiled again and stood up.

"Definitely!"

She spoke aloud, surprising Sky slightly. Faia held back a giggle as she ran a hand through her slick brown hair.



Sky's sapphire eyes looked curiously at Faia. Faia nodded as she collected her things: a knapsack and quiver.

"Ride or walk?"

As if to answer, Sky threw her head back. Faia chuckled before mounting up smoothy. Her olive pants seemed to melt into Sky's fur as she sat firmly on Sky's bare back.





Sky snorted once before running down the path. Her hooves thudered on the dirt, sending up a cloud. Her mane blew behind her, mixing with Faia's hair. Sky whinnied, throwing her graceful head into the air. Her horn caught the gleam of the sun, making it shine. Suddenly, the unicorn came to a stop.

"As I said, my name is Sai. And this," He gestured to Souun, "is Stratus. So, tell me about yourself. You said that you are a Combatant, how long have you been traveling? Do you have any marks yet?"

"Actually, yes. I do have a map, and a compass. We just need to keep heading directly north, which is right where you are facing. And I don't have any marks yet either. I actually just left home earlier this morning." Sai said.

Stratus said.

Sai replied.

Sai asked.

Stratus replied.

"Yeah, we should walk. We're never going to get anywhere if we don't anyways. So, how did you meet Vix?"

"He was. I had noticed him between the desert and the mountain. He was flying over us, us being the Sage from my village and me. We followed him for three days before we finally caught up. When we did finally catch up to him we used a combination of immobilization spells and a gravity spell to hold him in place so that I could cast my binding spell. It worked out in the end. I was able to complete the spell just before my Sage was about to lose focus on one or both of the spells, mostly because Stratus was putting up so much of a fight.

"We also trained for an additional year before leaving, at the recomendation of my villages Sage. So that we could study more, and get to know each others limits and abilities better."

"Well I guess that means your much stronger than most of us who started. Since you have had an extra year with your companion." Kin said trying to still maintain his friendliness.
