IMAGINE - The Fantasy Guild

Back to Guilds

This guild is intended for those who have a love of the fantasy genre, perhaps a growing interest in it, and for those who write in it.

SK, I've moved your Narrative thread to the Writer's Circle as it's more about writing in general rather than just fantasy.

Historical Subforum (The Museum): I'm taking ideas for the historical subforum in the thread "Who's interested in history?" here in the Foyer. I'd appreciate any ideas people have for it so I can get it up and running in the near future.

I've altered the name of the General Fantasy Discussion to the Fantasy Café, and the Extended Fantasy Discussion to the Fantasy Conference & Museum. This means that a new subforum won't be created for historical discussions, but rather they'll be in with the Fantasy Conference (aka the EFD).

As the Fantasy Conference & Museum contains both in-depth fantasy discussions as well as those that are historical, there will be another rules page for it. Although it is the same subforum, they're separate areas entirely. Please direct your attention there.

Banners Updated accordingly.
As usual, if I've missed something let me know.

Also, if you didn't notice, yesterday I did get the guild banner (the little one up in the top right corner) updated with the proper name. 3nodding

That's great Jen! wink

I am intent on trying to get more interest into all other areas of the guild, especially the Fantasy Conference & Museum, Games Room, Film & Anime Lounge and the Writer's Circle.

I think people are only really using the RP Hall which is not what I intended the guild to be for. The RP Hall is an additional bonus to the guild, and other areas need to be used as well. I'm all for that area to be heavily populated, but the rest of the guild is being neglected. Maybe I'm not right to think this, but part of me wants to lock the RP Hall until people are willing to use the other areas of the guild. In truth, they'd probably then leave and go somewhere else, and I don't want that to happen but this guild is primarily interest-based and NOT RP-based. People should take that into account before joining to be perfectly honest. I'm not trying to be harsh, but myself and the other crew members have spent a lot of time refurbishing this guild and if only one area is being used it's not really beneficial. This is what's bothering me about it.

Please don't take this the wrong way.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

I've added a new thread to the Writer's Circle: Extracts from the Gifted

*Refrains from using profanity.*

What is everybody doing? I mean regular members rather than crew (though it does apply to a couple of crew members too).

I've added two new dicussions to the Fantasy Conference & Museum, even thought the rest of the damn subforum isn't even being used. There are the odd few posts in other subforums, but everyone's "role-playing". People don't seem to understand that role-playing is in fact an addition to the guild, and activity is required in other areas of it as well as it is primarily interest-based.

I don't want the RP to stop in any case, but I want people to use the other subforums as well. I put up a contest weeks ago and evidently nobody's bothered checking the marketplace because otherwise members would be applying.

I commend SK for his good work in the Role-playing Hall, but the other so-called Role-playing Co-ordinators are liable to be removed from their positions if they have been active on Gaia and the guild but not doing the job they said they wanted to do.

There's also the recruiters and chasers. A couple of them have had trouble getting online recently, but otherwise the only ones doing their jobs in that field are Hypnocrown, Avalsidal and Dragoon_Arcadia.

Calimouse has begin her administration within the Writer's Circle with a new contest that I have actually entered myself. That's good work on her part.

Dragoon_Arcadia, the Games Room needs work. Don't tell me you have no idea what to do, you asked to be the Games Room Manager. Do something to attract more attention there please.

I'm not sure what to do with regards to the Tavern. When we didn't have an area for general chat, people complained about it, and as soon as one is made, it's used for a little while and hasn't been hardly at all of late. It can also be a place to discuss ideas for the guild as well if need be.

The Fantasy Cafe is picking up a "little" but not enough, and the Fantasy Conference & Museum is generally meant to be the main subforum but nothing is happening.

I fully appreciate all the work that is going on - SK, Jen, Hypno, Dragoon_Arcadia, and Calimouse. Avalsidal, I know you've had a lot going on recently, no worries.

I've made the Guild's rule thread into more of a rulebook with more information on it. Hopefully this will help things a long a little better.

The Games room and Film & Anime lounge are getting very little attention. I had an idea to merge them as well (maybe?) and using the other subforum for something else entirely.

Any suggestions welcome.

I have also added this - Featured Threads and updated The Directory thread.

The Library has been added to the subforums. Several people wanted a place to discuss only books, so it's been done.

I've rearranged two of the forums; the Fantasy Cafe (now the Museum), and the Fantasy Conference.

I decided it was better to put all of the fantasy topics into one subforum and to have a separate one for historical discussions. I believe it will be easier to navigate this way.

The RP Hall seems to have gone rather slack. I've not had a long look over there, but SK seems to be the only one doing anything with regards to the Role-playing Co-ordinator title.

I would like to ask everyone who is a Role-playing Co-ordinator to post their work and suggestions into the Crew Worker's Diary.

As requested, a summary of my work in the Role-Playing Hall. Membership is small (as seems to be the case throughout most of the guild). This means that roleplays are very slow - some haven't even gotten off the ground. Jenannen has been waiting a long time for characters in the Dragon of Gold Inn to react to her new character, and this in turn is part of everyones waiting for the Dahmarka Tower crew to leave the inn and begin said roleplay. I think some members have gotten frustrated with the slow pace and quit, compounding the problems. I have promised to help run several roleplays, including Dahmarka Tower, but until these get started I can't do a lot.

Tidied up some of the forums, and made a few threads to write in and also answered some.
