"An option? Better than nothing." If it meant she would soon stop having to worry about whether or not she'd be able to continue end's meet, having a possible candidate was better than having no idea as to who would make a suitable hunter. With the pack growing, Aleni, although known for being quite the hunter, had occasional thoughts of what the alpha would do to her if she were to, God forbid, waltz on back with little to nothing for the pack to dine on.
If Irons could scrape up an able hunter, who wouldn't need constant reassurance of a job well done, there wouldn't be any problem. Granted, she knew they could do with more, seeing how the pack was continuing to grow, but one more hunter meant more food for the pack. It didn't mean she'd hunt less, oh no. Aleni would never use having more hunters around as an excuse to spend more time laying about, doing nothing. All it meant was she wouldn't have to worry about being the sole provider for a large pack.
As the alpha spoke, she tilted her head to the side, allowing her eyes to rest on him once again. "Loose cannon?" A very vague idea came to mind as to what he meant by this, but she was having trouble not imagining a crazed, murderous wolf foaming at the mouth while running around killing everything in sight. "Of course, of course. If this hunter chooses to accept, I shall watch over him, and within the next month, he'll either be hunting for the pack, or dead. I hope it doesn't come to that, but I will do anything that will ensure we won't have a troublesome wolf in our pack." After a moment, she grinned sheepishly, deciding that she would have to correct herself before it came off in a way she hadn't meant. When she said 'our', she had been getting at a fact that it was a pack to which they both belonged, not that she was under the impression that she was also in charge. "That is to say, your pack."

Irons could not quite restrain himself from giving her a small smile that boarderlined a smirk, "Well, for the sake of arguement, of course it is mine... but were a wolf to come and injure my own wolves, or my person, though that I doubt, but it would affect you, my huntress. And I do not wish that, in any sense... for what kind of Alpha would I be, if that happened?" He shook his head. It wouldn't happen, oh no. He did not trust the new one yet, so he was merely taking precautions. Nothing would take what he had fought for from him. Not when so many had died for it. Especially not now that he finally had his heir taken care of.
"You are stronger... or at the very least smarter than the new one. Not to worry, you will still hold the top position of hunter in my pack... The new one is hardly the leader type anyway," And Irons liked to think that he wouldn't make some stupid move like trying to claim leadership of the Bones Pack for himself.
There was stupid, but then there was moronic. Irons hadn't earned his reputation as a vicious killer simply by prancing around like an idiot. It would take a lot to impress him.
