One violet ear swiveled to face Osha. Then she turned her head, looking thoughtful, "Mm...Ok!" Well it didn't look like anyone else was going to get them. And you could not roast marshmellows without the sticks. That was just plain silly! She hopped to her feet, her tail brushing against the log, and skipped a bit away from the fire. She gave a playful tug to Holden's tail as she passed, grinning, "Hey Holden!" She couldn't forget Mr. Striped-Tail, nope. She then waved at Osha to follow, "Come! Need to get those sticks!"

Ophiera waved energetically to Holden, as well, though she didn't go over. He had a funny face! Like he was wearing one her mother's masks!

Ophiera toyed with the fastenings on her capelet. When it fell off of her shoulders, she leaned over awkwardly and picked it up, then dropped it haphazardly on Nadia's shoulders.

It sort of clashed, but it didn't look half bad. Ophiera looked as if she were giggling, though no sound came out except a strange movement of air, soft, barely imperceptible.

What was this? Everyone had abandoned him. Well, Gavin could stand for that, now could he. Ina and Osha were going to go find sticks, but they'd invited Holden instead of him. Hmph. Fine, he'll just go hang out with the other two girls instead. He pushed himself off his own log and went to go sit on the other side of Nadia.

"Nadiii looks funny," he smiled, noticing the clashing colors. Osha would be appalled, he was sure. Or he might be excited, who knows? "You should show Osha when he gets back with sticks."

The sticks that he hadn't been invited to go get. Oh well. The fire place was better anyway. Lots better. They were the ones who were missing out.

Osha didn't know Holden very well and wasn't entirely sure why she was inviting the quiet kid with the funny face, Holden?, but she did. Oh well. He didn't seem like he was coming along... His colors weren't very interesting either. Black and white. Strange. Maybe he'd ask the kid about it after.

He blinked as Ina summoned him. Multi-tasking wasn't Osha's things. Pondering colors and walking at the same time apparently didn't go together. "Coming!" he answered, trotting to catch up with the wolf girl. He looked at the woods ahead and cringed. Hopefully they wouldn't find creepies like that time he rescued Elisa from the yucky log. The young boy stepped into the woods, carefully avoiding a rather sticky looking spiderweb, and started gathering sticks. He took care to pick long sticks, because these were going over the fire, right? So they had to be able to reach.

Osha held up a few minutes worth a stick hunting, which was really only less than ten. "Enough?" he asked Ina.

Peering through the undergrowth at the kids, Dacian made certain he could keep them in sight. They seemed to be having fun, at least...although he could always speed this up a little bit.

"Kiddo's, come on back - I have an idea!"

After they had headed back, Dacian took a look at the sticks that had been gathered. Ther weren't very many, and they really weren't quite right for smore's...but he could fix that.

"Watch this guys, hm?"

Making sure all the kids were watching, he shifted from the scary story telling, to magic tricks to keep them entertained. Murmuring words, too quietly for the children to make out, a small, awkwardly shape stick laying on the grass beneath his hands began to grow and change shape: until it was perfect for roasting marshmallows.

Except, it was stone. Which apparently wasn't the reaction that Dacian had been aiming for, judging by the expression on his face.

"Well....I guess that works."

He continued on from then - managing to keep them all wood.

Ismet remained on his log, glowering at Dacian: show off. The boy would probably be content to stay there all night, really.

Green eyes widened as Ophiera's cape draped around Nadia's thin frame. She gripped the sides of the fabric and smiled at the other girl. This was pretty cool! She fully planned on giving it back - in a minute - but for now she nodded at Gavin and shallowly kicked her feet. "Funny," she agreed. Whoever this Osha person was obviously had good taste.

Nadia lowered her hands and was about to offer the capelet back to Ophiera when Dacian started his tricks. She watched as he turned a normal old boring stick into a piece of rock! Ooo. When he was done turning bumpy sticks into smooth skewers, Nadia looked up at the man in awe. Through all the excitement, she had somehow failed to notice the mostly-blue boy keeping to himself.

Ophiera watched Dacian's trick, too, kicking her feet slightly as she watched. Her mouth formed into a little 'o' of amazement and interest. Her mommy had told her stories about magic - about Uncles Stephen and Matt being silly and doing silly things - but seeing it was so much better!

She held her hands over her mouth as if she were giggling.

Boys were so silly. Ina hadn't asked Holden to come at all. She had simply been saying hi. What was wrong with that? Those silly guys needed to cool their jets. Or something. Ina continued to head into the trees, aparently unimpressed with Dacian's magic. That or it just didn't fit the bill. "NOoo, we need sticks! Not rock-shaped sticks!" Geeze, didn't he know how to camp? So instead she gathered sticks with Osha. Granted, the two of them were within sight of the camp and since Osha was quick Ina was satisfied quickly.

She looked at Osha's bunch and then at her own and nodded approvingly. "Yep, that's good," she said with a swish of her tail, hurrying back to the fireside. She dumped her load next to the log, "NOW we've got sticks!"

Osha was slightly bewildered by Dacian's display. He'd never seen anything like it before and happened to get a little stuck on watching him shape some sticks into rocks. Or maybe they were already rocks and he just made them look different? Either way, it was weird, and Ina didn't seem to like it very much.

"'Kay," he chirped happily. Ina was happy, so it was good. He dumped his sticks in the pile and went to sit next to Gavin...except Gavin was gone! He was over with the girls. Osha sighed and shuffled over to his side, gazing at the girl he was talking to.

... He raised his eyebrows. "...colors hurt," he noticed, blinking at her rather...loud outfit.

Dacian seemed not at all bothered by his little error of sticks into rocks, rather then sticks into skewers, and he seemed content as he opened up a bag of marshmallows for the children to roast. And he seemed eager to roast one himself.

Then his wrist started buzzing. Or, well, a device on his wrist. After some time spent poking buttons on it (what did they do? Who knew), he frowned at the marshmallows.

"I have to run back to the labs...Gavin, Ina, Ismet - would you three watch everyone else for me? I shouldn't be too long."

He wanted to roast marshmallows so he really didn't want to take too long - waste too much time, and there wouldn't be any left! Although some people might have thought leaving a few kids and toddlers alone in a campsite was a bad idea, he wasn't concerned; Ismet was mature enough to make sure nobody fell into the fire.

And bears? Oh, he doubted they would come. Or bandits, or chainsaw-weilding maniacs and so forth...

Dacian didn't give much time for them to protest (if they had wanted to), because a moment later he had headed off into the woods, back towards the compound.

Ismet seemed even more grumpy from his new status of 'babysitter', and simply glowered more at the others from his spot on the log.

Holden wasn't quite sure what to think of Dacian leaving. He never really care about having adults around, but this was an adult he had just now had found out was magical (which was the greatest thing Holden had ever seen) and had said Gavin, a boy who had thought Holden was an alien, the rather frieghtening looking blue boy and Ina were in charge.

Holden liked Ina at least and he moved closer to her as the only adult left. There he just stood and looked at the pile of sticks Ina had collected, mostly waiting for something to do, some kind of direction.

Nadia held her tongue at Osha's comment. How could colors hurt? With a shrug, she pulled off Ophiera's cape and offered it back to the girl. She looked around at the older kids and then down at the marshmallows. The idea that anything could be done with a pile of sticks and a bag of white puffs simply boggled Nadia's mind. She turned to Ophiera briefly.

"Why you dun talk?" she whispered.

Gavin watched intently at Dacian's trick, but like the others was confused at the turn of events. Stone? That sure was weird. Not really exciting either. However, he didn't have his chance to comment, since Dacian had already run off to go do...something. Probably to do grown-up stuff. That meant they were alone. No adults. Whoo! No grown-ups! But wait...

He blinked, looking over at Ismet. "I'm in charge? With you? And Ina?"

No one had ever given him a position authority before. Even though he hadn't done anything, it still felt quite good. That meant if any monsters or something came through he'd have to protect them all. Whoo, again! Too bad Haki wasn't here, she would have loved to be in charge. She liked telling people what to do and all.

((Sorry for my slow response, guys x.x))

"Apparently. Just keep them from setting themselves on fire."

Ismet didn't seem all that happy with it: but then, it would have been a shock if he was happy with being left alone with a bunch of toddlers. It was bad enough he was forced to come out here with them - not he had to babysit them.

Feh.

Maybe it was just because the protector of the group had left, but it seemed almost as if the forest around them had become more threatening. Wind rippled through the trees nearby, and -

A howl. Just the wind, right?

It looked almost as if something was on the edge of the campsite, within the shadows...was it just imagination? Perhaps branches moving?

It was scary now for the little raccoon boy. With the sounds and sights of things around them, be them something real or just the wind, it terrified Holden. He had never really been that scared before and when he was Tristan or Hamlet usually made it better right away.

Holden shook but as always he didn't make a sound, just shook and looked around uneasily.
