"Sounds like a plan." Genshin relayed a smirk towards the old man then tilts his head as he watches the man instead of the cards, for the old man is the one controlling the cards. Genshin grabs Fury by the hilt lifting it and holds it horizontally in front of his chest as he waits for the old man to make his move. But maybe Genshin made his move already...

The number of cards floating in the air around the old man continued to increase as he began to advance towards Genshin. His stride was rigid, almost as if marching as part of a larger formation, and doing so poorly. Arcs of energy lanced between every last one of the cards, creating an impossible web before the single one facing Genshin unleashed a massive energy beam. It seemed as though there was a great deal of power behind the attack, likely enough to bring down a building.

Genshin, having the blade Fury well within his grip still being held in front of him in the horizontal fashion as previously stated earlier, was prepared for just an attack to be instantly devastating, but this didn't seem to be a big attack at all to Genshin. I know he can do better, this has to be a... WHAM! The beam hits directly towards Fury, turning the blade flat against the beam while the left hand holds upon the metal as the right keeps a firm hold on the hilt, Genshin's feet set into the ring's apron like cement as his body is pushed backwards almost towards the ropes. Genshin's eyes darted back towards the ropes, then he decided to use the prowess that was given to him by his homeland.
Suddenly, the beam of energy delivered by Argus was being pushed back then as Genshin takes two steps forward, he swings the blade Fury towards his right deflecting the energy upwards toward the sky to release it into the atmosphere. Veins pulsating slightly, subdue under his skin as he stares forward knowing the man had something else prepared. Again, the ring trembled beneath Genshin's feet.

The beam strikes the blade and simply seems to stop there, fading away instead of producing a big ruckus or lasting long enough to be deflected skyward. Three cards are left in its wake, plastered to the blade that so willingly blocked the beam. Another moment and the sword would be gone, relocated and set to return once the fight had completed. An odd quirk to the dismissal would note that it had not been teleported and, by and large, did not seem to exist anywhere, but also at the same time seemed to be exactly where it had been a moment before, and where it will be again in due time. One card came forth and grew to a large size, the five of staves, despite it being the wrong type of card for the decks he employed. From this card emerged five swords that looked like Genshin's Fury, but were indeed not the blade at all. Each of the five lanced out with the intent of skewering the man. However, after the apparent illusion of the previous assault it would be difficult to determine if they were real or not.

Genshin notices the fact that the beam dissipated due to the arrival of his blade towards it. A firm grin upon his hand as he turns the blade vertically downward, but then there was an opposing force towards Genshin's blade to make it transcend this plane, but at the same time, don't but by other means trans-locate from its current position to a different one. Genshin wouldn't allow that, for the Will of Genshin is entwined with the blade Fury and also with the blade PAIN, so when the card tries to make the blade lose existence for a short amount of time due to the fight. Genshin stopped it from maneuvering by sheer will power.
But Genshin's body continued to maneuver forward since the deflecting didn't occur, his forward momentum did. His pace quickened, as he suddenly slashed the blade horizontally directly towards the old man sending an incredible wave of energy, becoming negative by the second, having for the ropes to react towards it. In doing so, lightning bolts from the rope itself goes directly towards the horizontal like energy veering straight towards the old man. The energy acts like a buzz-saw blade charging straight for the old man as Genshin drops low slamming Fury deeper into the ring watching the random bolts of lighting go towards the energy and go by him and through him at the same time, but the damage would go noted but not reacted to. After all, it's the thrill of pain that thrives him.

It looks as if the old man splits in two, each darting in an opposing direction as the blast nears. The cards begin darting around between them, forming a long ellipsoid shape where the cards would move slow around the left one (from Argus' perspective) and quickly circle past the right. Bolts of energy would attract to single cards, mainly near the center between the two as that was the easiest apparent location. The blade itself would sink into the cards, streams of energy dancing past where they cannot block it, but apparently leaving it to do little real damage. There are now six cards on Genshin's blade, wrapping around it now and almost becoming one with the metal despite the continued use of the blade.

But the man didn't split in two at all, Genshin isn't going to fall for some illusion like that, and apparently, that's what the cards were used for as well. Now, Genshin's nose begins to sniff the air like a wolverine looking for a dining meal as he continues forward directly to the center of the ring. The cards themselves would find it hard to bond with Fury due to its elaborate nature of being fueled by emotion. The more anger and 'fury' Genshin felt, the more the blade begins to shine in its metallic state. The cards meet to Genshin's blade, but only to Fury's apparant barrier which formulated during the beginning of the match.
A shadowy hand begins to formulate lifting from the ground to grab directl upon the hilt of PAIN while Genshin lifts his right hand upwards and standing with his blade Fury touching the ring's surface. Hopefully, there'll be something to prepare for here as Genshin's fingers rub together in a brief fashion.

As six became twelve it seemed to not matter that Fury was encased in a field of protection, they'd cling all the same, whether to barrier or blade. Furthermore, it seemed that the cards were feeding off the emotion flowing through the blade just as it might empower the blade. If Genshin was trying to find the old man by sense of smell it would be quite clear that both of them were Argus. Then again, it could simply be an illusion that was just that good. Each of the two men throw their arms towards Genshin, a storm of bladed cards surging forward with all intentions of slicing him to ribbons.

"Now." And wham, that's when it happens, the blade of PAIN finds the actual body of Argus due to the shadows having pure senses of knowing which is their master and which is the real deal. The illusion won't fool them due to their sort-of separate consciousness that they shared partially from Genshin.
"Hmhmhm... I can see through the illusion, and know that your cards are nothing else but a trick to play with my eyes, my friend. Now, let's get serious, and really start this battle off." After his fingers suddenly snap a negating apparatus created by the shadows themselves, Genshin's eyes were then closed as well. Genshin wouldn't sense anything, not even feel anything, if there were anything to feel it was the great sensation of PAIN that'd would occur to him when the blades hit against his body. But, the cards hitting his body wouldn't have any effect due to the negation release of the shadows prowess. With this, both men would begin suffering the losing of their powers becoming nothing but mere mortals, and this is where Genshin's toleration of the match shall begin.

The only problem was the simple fact that there was no distinction between either of the two, not even any magical force, or lack thereof, that might represent an illusion. Hell, there wasn't even any true illusion in play, nor any form of invisibility, but something a bit more substantial and less magical. Even if the magic within the cards was negated they were still sharp as a ******** and were launched at Genshin with only a 'hand' guiding them, not propelling them. Furthermore, if the magic within is negated the many many wounds caused to Genshin would leave behind no pain. After passing Genshin the cards would return, drawn back to the two with the more speed and force than their initial pass at the man.

The situation was simple then, Genshin took not much damage in that transition of different attacks and such, but yet, his blade was supposed to be covered in cards, but they were flaring off of it as he kept a hold on the blade. Yet, PAIN found its destination, and going directly through the old man since he didn't realize the fact that the shadows were the ones leading the blade directly to the man for they can recognize what's on them and what's not. The ring was covered with the shadows from the beginning of the match, and Genshin just grinned as he closed his eyes.

As previously addressed, it was impossible to telll which was Argus, if either were Argus, or anything of the like. The effect applied to everything, not simply Genshin, not even just him and his blades, but every last damn thing that could ever possibly think of observing him or the match in general. Even if the blade had any possibility of ever finding Argus, the blade would simply slide through him and out the side, showing no damage done aside from what looked to be paper shreds on the blade. As the cards returned to the two men and began running between them they would both flick their arms out to the side. A moment later each card would slightly increase in size and then split in half before making a similar assault upon Genshin as they had before, coming from two directions in a sort of crossfire.

There's a way, as previously stated in the first post the shadows covered the ring itself. And never was it stopped, thus, now the shadows having the ring covered makes it easier for the prey to be noticed. That's if, he's standing on the inside of the ring or on either the turnbuckle poles, otherwise, the man wouldn't be truly noticed at all. PAIN, the blade didn't move on its own accord, what happened was that a shadow lead the blade directly towards a source. If the old man was on the ring's surface or any other parts of the ring, besides the ropes, then the shadows quickly lead the blade to go directly to its point of interaction.
If not, then Genshin will just stand there until the cards came, then swiftly dip his upper body under the cards as if performing in a limbo contest then stand right up. (Edit) As more cards came, he'd do the same, then step forward back, and suddenly go into an aversion rampage making sure that none of the cards would touch him, but then he'd notice something from his left side, Argus' right and he suddenly feels his left hand extend towards Argus, Is that the fake? With a smirk upon his face he throws an energy ball directly towards the suspected fake, but at the same time does it with the other with the shadows flaring behind the other where PAIN's to be giving a stab to. One of them would react, so... which one is it. His eyes are closed, thus his senses and connection with the shadows alert him when to move. Without any usage of sight, though, this perspective illusion won't work.

As the energy ball and blade move in for the attack a darkness enwraps both elderly men, but not one involved with lack of light. A momentary lack of perception -a mere blink of each of the six senses and beyond- would hide the simple fact that the blade seemed to slip through and the energy ball wasted itself somewhere behind the Argus it targeted. The sound of shuffling cards accompanied the return of perception, whereby it appeared as though missing bits of the old man were replacing themselves with cards from the surrounding cloud as they returned to him. With a smirk on each of his lips the elderly men began to advance on Genshin, each hoping for a direct assault as the cards built a shell around them both.
