Oathkeeper laughed, remembering he'd said something like that to someone before too. "Its okay" he assured her, "Many mares think I'm a little too aloof sometimes or just plain 'not their type.' But---as goes for family. Nah, little ones aren't so bad & I feel lucky to have a head start on parenting since I took care & well-raised one of the teepee's mare's daughters. Paris, the mother's just too immature to be having kids and she of coarse, didn't want any responcibilities of raising the one foal that stayed with her---so I took her in and raised her as my own!" he smiled cheekily.

Auriga smiled with delight, glad he hadn't made her feel too embarassed for her blunder. "How very kind of you! It must have been difficult, although rewarding, to help raise a foal..."

Auriga lay down on her side, her head in the grass and she smiled with a deep sigh. "As much as I love being free, I hope I get to do that some day.... And I think it's crazy that you weren't their type... You're great company, and so pleasant to talk to..."

"Rewarding? Definantly! But hard---nah---the only thing I found hard about fostering the lil' filly til she became an independant mare was that she has wings!" he laughed "And well---seeing as I don't I couldn't do much in the category of teaching her to fly! But I helped keep her spirits up, and she eventually figured it out on her own" Oathkeeper nodded. Shaking his head lightly in the cool night breeze he smiled cheekily, "Well" he replied wittily, "If you have the right kinda stallion, you won't feel like you've lost any freedom, but at the same time you'll have companionship and feel loved!" Pausing for a moment he let the pleasantly flattered feeling from Auriga's comment on him being 'great company' settle in. "You're great company too. I'd like it very much if I could have your company more often---because you're---awesome too" he blurted without thinking proper phrasing through on that one. "

Auriga raised her eyebrows. "Wings! A wing Soquili... I bet she got up to plenty of mischief out of reach!"

Auriga sat back up and looked at the white stallion with a smile. "I hope you're right.... I don't think I could be with anyone who would take away my freedom...."

Auriga stood up and grinned at him as his last words slipped out. "Thank you, Oathkeeper..." She gave a bow with her head and grinned wider. "I feel like we're being very lazy. Care to go for a midnight stroll?"

"Well I wouldn't take away your freedom" Oathkeeper replied without thinking. His own words caused him to blush slightly. "I mean---I believe---a mare should be always free willed and keep her own independance, even in a coupling." The stallion was clearly trying to save face. He felt kinda bad since he knew that when one has an attraction to another, they've just met and are out for friendly talking---well, that can always cause problems, such as making the other feel uncomfortable or awkward. "Oops---lazy, right uh sure! Wouldn't mind a stroll! Good to uh---stretch the legs!" he stammered, not knowing why such shyness has just come over him. "Where to?" he asked, trying to gain some of his former repose.

Auriga couldn't help but laugh as Oathkeeper blushed. His nares went a lovely colour of pink.

"I'm glad you feel that way... it may be useful to know..." Auriga couldn't resist a wink as she laughed again and turned to walk off through the field, the long grass still swaying gently. The clear sky meant it was anything but dark, and she walked confidentally down a small valley, turning to see if he was following.

The wink sent Oathkeeper even more red in the face. He couldn't help but nervously chuckle---at little confused on whether she meant that in a flirty way or was just teasing him. As they walked, Oathkeeper kept perfect pace with Auriga. He was a quick stallion after all, and had it been daytime (since at night he's a little less energetic,) he would have asked her if she'd fancy a race. "Where are we going? If you don't mind my asking?" he inquired, trying to strike up conversation after his mild embarassment.

Auriga smiled at the stallion next to her. "I don't know... a random walk! To see if we can find anywhere interesting... And if not, we can still carry with conversation! It's just too clear and bright a night to waste..." She nodded upwards, despite the fact thay had been staring at the same sky for ages previously.

"Do you know of anywhere interesting around here...?"

Remembering back to where he'd met a saddled stallion named Sibalto, he nodded. "There's secluded glen with a lake & waterfall nearbye" he suggested, "I'll bet the stars reflecting in the water there look really magnificent, that and a cool dip on this warm night might feel refereshing." Sounded romantic though and he was hoping Auriga wouldn't take that wrongly.

Auriga's eye lit up. "That sounds incredible! I'd love to go there, if you'll take me..." She beamed widely. A stallion who offered to take her to water? This certainly was her lucky day!

Auriga danced on her hooves, flicking her tail. "Let's go!"

Smiling brightly, Oathkeeper led the way. When they arrived, it from 1st glance was apparent his guess was right. You could indeed see the thousands of glistening stars reflecting brilliantly on the lake's surface. "Ever wanted to go 'swimming in stars?" Oathkeeper questioned Auriga, nodding to the star-filled lake, "Now seems like the most perfect time too." With a serene smile, he nickered, "Ladies 1st! Or should I go in 1st to make sure the water isn't too cold?" he asked, trying to be as polite as always.

Auriga smiled as she followed Oathkeeper. She couldn't help but gasp when they go to their destination. It was as beautiful as he'd said it was.

"Dear, Oathkeeper, swimming in stars is my hobby!" She laughed before prancing into the water, her nose held up in mock importance. She wandered in to stomach deep and dipped her entire hed into the water. Coming back up for air, she turned to look at him through a dripping forelock, grinning widely.

"Come in! The water's lovely!"

She certainly was enthusiastic, never missing a beat. Oathkeeper admired that and, upon her request, went galloping into the water himself. After dipping his whole self below the surface as well he laughed, "Is there anything that doesn't make you seem perfect?" he teased the mare. Geniunely, she seemed flawless to him. He decided to test Auriga's playfulness and lightly splashed her in a fun-loving way. The stars reflections rippled and glistened majestically around them as they swam.

Auriga laughed and leapt around in the water as Oathkeeper joined her. She flushed at the nares at his comment. "I'm not perfect! I just happen to love water, and the stars, and you've combined the two so I'm feeling particularly cheerful!"

She squealed as he splashed her before laughing and splashing back. Her forelock stuck to her face, making it rather difficult to see. "Bah! I'm waterlogged!" She smiled before nudging him playfully.

He laughed as she splashed back, but then took on a calm & tranquil repose. Swimming nearer, Oathkeeper removed the forelock from her face and looked her gently in the eyes. "Well, I think you're perfect" he stated sincerely & boldly, I might add, for he was slightly shy when treading the beginnings of possible romantic ground. He smiled, more brightly than the stars.
