Trents head lifted from the spot he laid at. His eyes focused on the pup, kind and soft pools of yellow and white.

"The Goddess," He began taking a breath, his voice more calm and soothing then ever. "The Goddess protects this tree and used to protect the pack that dwelled in the heart of this tree." He took another breath, "She is a kind wolf who wishes for our pack to thrive. Though recently she has been sadden by the massacre of most if not all of my kind." Trent believed that there were some survivers scattered among these woods. Either they had been out exploring at the time of the attack or they had fleed. It was an assasins way to flee if they had reconized the enemy as to long.

"Any ways, i seems you have brought joy to the goddess. She hasnt seen a young pup in a long while." He smiled at Misto, "since you are so blessed it would be an honor for you to stick around." He put his head back down on his front paws, "Only if you so choose."

A goddess... The pup mused as Trent began to tell him, eyes widening lightly in the moonlight as he looked around the den. All of this was living, breathing almost, enchanted and so real to a point that he could hear it's hushed sigh as the lunar-taken wind blew through it's leaves. His paws flexed, grasping lightly at the smooth, soft soil beneath them. It was almost over-whelming.

The offer to stay though, cast the pup out of his thoughts and he looked towards the alpha. Quaxo gave a grateful dip of his head in response. "Thank you, I'd like that." The pup looked towards the older wolf and gave a soft sway of his skinny tail for good measure. "But I have one question....who are you?"

Trent was amused at this question. He would have laughed but he knew that it was a serious question.

"Well," He looked back up at the pup yellow and white eye alike focused, "Thats a tough question," He smiled, "I go by Trent but is that really who I am young one? Who are we really?" He gave a laugh, "The title of Alpha has been cast upon me but thats not just who I am.I am also a poet. What about you young pup?" He was enjoying him self. " What mystery lies in your heart?"

The pup raised a brow at his laughter, the straight expression never leaving his features. He certainly never meant for that explanation, and he supposed that it was his own fault for bringing it on.

But he paused, pondering over his name. Qauxo... The name he had been birthed with, it didn't sound right somehow. It wasn't him, not at all, it was as though he was speeching the name of a complete stranger. Plus, it wasn't a common name, it would be easy to be tracked by. "I am.." he paused for a moment, hesitantly wracking his brain for an answer. His ineffable effanineffable...Deep and inscrutable singular name... This was the time, his second name. All reached the point upon a certain time in their lives in his pack, his former tribe...His was now. "My name is, Mistoffelees." The pup replied calmly, as though he had known it his whole life. "My mysteries are my own..."

Trent cocked a brow at that answer, quite impressed by his name. No wonder he was in the goddess's favor. Smart cunning pup.

"Misto," He repeated happily, "I like it," He gave the pup a nod of acceptance. "Are you intrested in magic young Misto?" Trent smiled giving Misto a tilt of his head. Something he didnt do to often but he was truely curious. This pup was highly spirited and in the goddess's favor. Of course the Alpha's intrest had been peeked.

Misto... The nick-name was foreign to his ears, but yet somehow familiar to him. Deuteronomy was right about that... "Magic?" The pup looked towards Trent, slightly confused. "But magic is nothing but intricate illusions, is it not?" He wrinkled his brow lightly, looking at the older male. Even if it was, he still enjoyed it. So for that he gave a soft nod, then looking down once more to the small flower he curled so delicately around.

"Depends on what kind of magic you mean," Trent nodded at the young pup, "Illusions and tricks are good fun but real magic comes from with in your heart." Though it was cheesy, and Trent knew this, it was true.

He layed his head back on his paws. "How would you like to practice some magic?" His eyes were closed now. He could feel the dancing of the moon light on his fur. Rays shown here and there through the spaces between the roots of the mighty sacred tree.

Real magic comes from the heart? No matter how sappy that sounded, the skinny pup was still enthralled with the thought. Real magic? The mere thought of it was amazing to him, and he was eager to learn more.

"Yes sir." Mistoffelees replied earnestly, nodding his head towards the larger wolf.

"Then we can start tomorrow Misto," He really loved saying Misto. Each letter rolled off the tongue with his smooth voice making it intoxicating for Trent to say. "Tonight your first lesson is patience," Trent laid his head down and smiled. His eyes shutting. "In order to know ones heart you must have Patience."

The sky was full of stars that evening, not a cloud in the sky. The moon gifted the two with brillent beams that seemed almost surreal as they provided the oak with light. The creatures of the forest were singing in respect to the beauty of the sky and all was fine and safe. Trent knew that Misto would be a natural with magic. He could tell the very second he laid eyes on the pup. He seemed to be touched with it.

Tomorrow? Truly, the pup didn't want to wait until tomorrow, patience could be damned. The night was young, there could be plenty of time to learn tonight. Patience was not one of the pup's strong points, Deuteronomy had told him that himself.

With a flick over an ear, Mistoffelees lay his head on his paws, golden gaze staring adoringly at the moon. Truly he was a creature of the night, and the urge to howl and romp amongst the wilds of the foliage itched deep inside him, especially with the moon so full and bright. But he kept it at bay, watching as the alpha closed his eyes and went to sleep. He had the fleeting notion that he should possibly find somewhere else to sleep, instead of in such a close proximity to the other wolf, but the thought passed as he felt his fur rub against the inner bark of the tree. Nothing, while he was inside this tree, would ever hurt him. And so, with that notion, Mistoffelees closed his eyes as well, falling into the recess of unconsciousness.
