Oathkeeper looked positively thrilled. Win or loose he loved a good race. It was a way of building up his stamina and testing his skills against all sorts and types of other Soquili. "Exellent! Well to be fair, you pick the destination and I'll pick the starting point? And rules you'd prefer to follow by?" he began, "Not that I'm a cheat, but just asking since everyone has a unique style to racing."

Sibalto nodded, considering the other's statements. Rules... "No real rules, I should think... Just a general request for gentlemanly behavior should do, I think... Don't you agree? I have a feeling we're both perfectly capable of acting like reasonable stallions and testing each other's speed..." He chuckled softly. "My favorite finish line is always the river..." He nodded to the ribbon of blue and diamonds. "But that is just my personal preferance..." He liked Oathkeeper... In times of need, he had a feeling he could go to the other for guidance.. As he would like that Oathkeeper would think of him... Elders of a sort, he suppossed... Isn't that what they did? Offered friendship and council?

"Oh I wouldn't dream of any unsportsmanly behaivor. I've always greatly disliked the so-called 'stallions' that put pride and other immature behaivor before friendship and proper conduct" Oathkeeper replied with a friendly laugh. Sibalto definantly seemed to his such a good new friend. And a friend that shared in the same respectable outlook was all the more enjoyable to be in the company of.
"To the river it is then, my newfound friend" he smiled, "May I do the honors?"
"On your mark. Get Set. GO!"
He took off running gleefully.
(Of coarse no earlier than Sibalto. xd )

Sibalto nodded serenely, easily agreeing with the other's statement. He'd seen many races end in fights rather than anyone's victory... Frankly the practice irritated him. "Oh if you'd be so kind." Sibalto grinned and tensed, poised beside Oathkeeper, waiting... Waiting. "May the swiftest of the day win." It was his usual thought. For the next day they might rerace and the opposite win.. It was speed and luck and fate and chance... GO! He leapt forward with the white stallion, a laugh leaving his throat at the easy rush forward. He lived for speed. Loved the run. Loved to race.

Man---kids must make you old...happily so, of coarse--- Oathkeeper thought, laughing to himself as a grey speckled behind of Sibalto seemed to pass him quicker than he imagined. Or maybe it was just his currently content lifestyle that had taken some of the 'dash' out of him. Being more, impowered, by thoughts of his loved ones and remembering how enjoyable the thrill of air rushing through the mane was, allowed him to catch up a bit.
(Thats not god modding right? Just double checking.) xd

(*glares at gaia* I have replied to this twice and it keeps getting eaten.. No, that's not godmoding... Its fine... <3)
Sibalto chuckled as he pulled away, snorting as the other quickly seemed to catch up... Good thing this wasn't so much of a sprint! There would be hardly any time for the interesting switch of who was in the lead. As the thought crossed his mind, Oathkeeper drew even and then ahead, by a nose, then a head, and slowly a whole length. Not so fast! With a snort the dappled grey flattened his ears and poured out more speed, trying to catch up. Now here was living!

The river was nearing, it was neck and neck! Oathkeeper just wanted to burst with glee. But it was so close---would they tie? Both we're strong; mind, body, heart and soul. Oath was sure he'd met his equal. Kind of like being kin, but from different bloodlines. He smiled to himself, allowed himself to enjoying the feeling of practically flying. Oathkeeper was quite sure Sibalto, his friend, would catch up.

Sibalto allowed himself a laugh as he drew even with Oathkeeper. There wasn't enough time for one or the other to pull ahead, was there? NO! The river was too close, and they were still tied! Nose and nose, tails streaming like banners. Like and not like... Brothers, in spite of different families. Sib continued on, splashing right into the river with a joyous shout. "A tie!? Ahh well! Well run, Oathkeeper... Well run indeed..."

Indeed a tie. Oathkeeper splashed amounst the shallows, letting out a laugh. "An equal! Hooray!" he chuckled. After all the thrill of the race was more fun than a victory anyday. "Whew. Oh my" he added, as the sun was sinking in the sky. "I ought to be back to the good old herd about now. And you to your lovely Firefly, I'm sure" he added.

Sibalto chuckled as he turned to face the other, bowing his head. "To equals, and friends.. I'd be glad to race you again, any day, Oathkeeper. My thanks for the entertainments..." He too glanced at the sky, wincing slightly. "Ahh yes, I imagine we should return.. I told Firefly I would check on Imri before I came back home... And he lives a good gallop from here..." He stepped back onto the bank and shook out his mane and tail, water flying from his coat like diamonds. "Until next time, Brother?" He offered with a smile.

"Until next time indeed" he smiled back, turning tail and he himself heading back to his lifemate, herd and life.
