kingpinsqeezels You should always be respectful to your hosts, they might do stuff to your food if you aren't. Note to self: If I ever eat over at kingpinsqeezel's house, remember to be VERY nice.

And plus, unless you are insulting me thoroughly, which I doubt you'd do, I wouldn't take offense.

Dis Domnu I'm not quite a convert in the traditional sense, but I guess you aren't either. My mom is Jewish, with more agnostic beliefs than anything. My step-father is Christian, but is pretty secular. I grew up in a house where we weren't taught religion at all, and were told to go out and discover for ourselves what we believed. I've gone through a whole bunch of religions. I've courted Asatru, Wicca, Islam, Agnosticism, Atheism, Deism, Pandeism/Pantheism, and others. I still haven't settled on any one religion, but recently I've been delving into Judaism. A little hard to do since there's no Jewish community to help with my studies, so everything has been online. I guess I do consider myself a convert, although the process is far from complete. awwww sad I need to give youa big hug, don't know why I just think you need a big supportive hug ::big supportive hug and a cookie::. Can I ask you something, which one of the different relgions that you looked into was the one that was ditched the soonest, and why? Cause I know when I was looking at religion I looked into Buddhism, but I wasn't good with the whole no structure >.> I'm one of those people that need structure. I need to be told what to do to get from point a to point b and be in good shapte, but I need the flexability to have my on life. Judaism just kind of fit everything I wanted. Shoujo Kakumei J-chan I'm in the process of converting Orthodox, but I'm not as observant as I was a year ago (as I'm posting on Gaia during Shabbos) because of the field I work in now. really you're less observant now, what changed do you think? I'm suffering from that too >.>. I don't know what changed, before judaism was all I could study about, now it's like you have to make me read something.

I had a friend in high school that did the same thing. She went through the conversion process, would go to synagogue with my parents and became like another member of our family. I don't think her grandparents or father really understood why she was doing it, but they didn't try to stop her.
She eventually found out her mother was Jewish and was able to feel more at peace with her choices. I'm not sure if she finished her conversion, she moved away for school.

Buddhism is another one that isn't so weird because they are just like all about peace and loving and it's what everyone wants. I've never heard of the other two though, would you care to enlighten me a bit?

Deism we learned about in Euro! I'll let him do the explaining, though, as my teacher probably didn't explain it to us right. sweatdrop
My one sentence definition: G-d is like a clockmaker. He made the world but now just sits back and watches it tick.
As for Asatru, not a clue.

Deism is the belief that God created existence, and that God is logical. After the creation of the universe God sat back to watch what happened.
Asatru is the Norse religion. Think Loki, Thor, Odin, Tyr, etc.
