"Oh you have no family? I hope I didn't offend you or anything by talking about my family. I know some of the members in my tank get upset when people talk about family and they don't have any. Yes I have many friends who aren't my family that I share my tank with."

She gave him a warm smile with a mild shake of her head. "No blood kin, law. My tankmates are my family, more than friends really. Don't worry... nothing you said has been offensive in any way. You've made me think, is all. Think on things I don't often dwell upon."
Gracefully she brushed the hair away from her face as it spilled across her shoulders. Her smile never faltered though it remained soft and small. "It must be nice to speak with friends. Would you tell me about it?" The wistful tone was back, faintly coloring her voice.

"Well thats good I have no intension's of hurting or offending you. My best friend is Thoth he is kinda crazy and dreams of being a rock star. Although most of the times he is pretty wrapped up in his music if I ever need him he is there no matter what and sometimes he keeps me company when I am babysitting my family. He is pretty cool you might like him."

She laughed lightly, a smile in her blue eyes. "He certainly sounds interesting. Music is certainly a good thing." Elanorriel vaguely knew of rock music, for there was much of it in her human's collection. However "What does it take to be a rock star?"

Hide thought about her question for a second "Well you need a band and instruments, Thoth is always talking about his perfect guitar. Oh and he said something about back up singers they have to be girls and you need a cool outfit and fans. I'm a groupie I can't play an instrument so I just hang out with the band for the most part" he laughed a little "Well if he had a band together yet" he put a fin behind his hand and sighed

Elanorriel listened, then lightly closed her eyes, raising the knuckle of her right index finger to lightly stroke the underside of her chin. "Certainly sounds exciting."
Her eyes opened slowly and she looked to catch Hido's eyes. "You can't play or you have not learned?" Bright blue eyes watched softly, looking for clues that would reveal the cause of his sigh.

"Well maybe if I have hands it would be easier to learn. But Thoth can and he doesn't have hands so I guess I just don't have musical talent is all. It's no big deal though cause I enjoy just being with my friend." as he was talking a thought hit him "Oh I have written a song or two for the band once it gets under way." He smiled a very big smile cause he was rather proud of his song.

Elanorriel was nodding lightly again. One could say it was a habit she had when listening. As was her quiet look that bespoke an aura of trust. "Mae... everyone has their own unique talents. But you write songs? That is something every musician or bard needs. Songs."
Her smile took on a happily concerned & interested undertone. "Perhaps you are more to your friend's band than his best friend & 'groupie', mae?"

"As it should be." The evolved female agreed with a nod.
Her delicate features pursed softly at Hido's request. More in thoughtful surprise than anything else. "About me?" She repeated, a bare trace of an incredulous tinge to her tone. "Now that's something I do not often think about."
Not consciously. Elanorriel grew silently thoughtful. "I suppose I'm something like a guardian of our tank. I try to be there for the others, and to guide them away from unhealthy or dangerous choices." She gave a light shrug of her bare shoulders. "I speak Elvish, read, contemplate & enjoy nature. Sometimes I sing with Madrigal who has a lovely voice. In all there's really not much to say. I don't go out much."

"Well we have that in common, the not going out much part" he laughed a little. "I am sure the other in your tank appreciate your advice. I would love to here you sing. Maybe you could talk to your friend about possibly being in my friends band. Do you think she would like that?"

Her smile grew the faintest bit, bringing a gentle warmth. "I suppose I could sing, if you would like. I tend to sing in Elvish, when left to my own devises."
But she was shaking her head. "But no... I don't think I could convince Madrigal to join a rock band. She can be -how shall I put this?- emotionally unpredictable, though she gravitates most often to a fearful shyness." A note of apology in tone & smile. "A rock band would probably terrify her, though I know you meant well."

Her laugh rang out merrily and light as she shook her head, two toned hair floating behind her. "Oh no. Although I would not be afraid, I doubt it is something for me. Too loud, from all I've heard, though interesting in its own regard. Not something I think I would be suited for."
She smiled gently, hoping to ease the disappointment of two misses. "Here. Let me demonstrate how I sing. Pretend it is my ... 'try out' if you wish."
Pulling herself upright with an ethereal grace Elanorriel gave him a soft smile and began to sing.

"Aww ok" As he listened to her sing he started to move to the song even tho he didn't know what she was saying "Wow you're really good, I wish I knew what you were saying"
