A twinkle of amusement lit Shishio's eyes, a light chuckle coming forth from his lips. "Yes, neither of those would do for anything more then light conversation." A sibling and a two-legger... this stallion needed to get out more.
Not to say that Shishio felt that a stallion's only purpose in life was to find a pretty mare and reproduce. It was more of a... bonus... that comes when two Soquili truly love each other.
Though... Shishio had seen children brought about more from convenience than any form of love on the parent's parts... but that was beyond the point.
One was to go through life and learn from it, helping where one could, changing things for the better... and once one felt that all one could do was done, then one could go about 'mate-hunting.'
"Perhaps you could focus on yourself, on doing what you love to do, and then the proper mare can find you? A female that you would want to spend the rest of your life with would, after all, be interested in the same things you are... and that would lead her to be in the same places, no?" The stallion rose one eyebrow. "Unless you are looking for something... more then what you know? If you are looking at all?"

A raise of his eyebrows, and those neatly mentioned words had sent the dark stallion thinking to himself. He had not truthfully taken time to actualy relax and think of what he wanted as a future. Foals and pretty females were always nice to see, but as for himself, and the prospects of being within those pictures, seemed slim to none in his head.
It was always that serious stallion, with the shiny fur and the mane that was long and well kept. He had always figured as a colt that the prettier they were, the harder the mares fell for 'em. Course back then he thought all fillies were icky and probably as vicious as his sister when it came to words.
Returning to the outside world, and to the stallion, he awarded the thought with a soft snort and a shake of his head, sending his mane flying to and fro for a moment. "The idea of being myself and letting fate take me asunder sounds like a much nicer plot. I don't think it would be right to act like someone I wasn't, to get a girl and have her only find I'm really someone they weren't for." he stated. "You've got a good head on your shoulders, I think. I haven't pondered this stuff in a long time, really."
A really. Really long time.

Shishio snorted. The sound could have been taken for a laugh.
"A mare should like you for who you are. For you. Not for some face you put on to mask your true nature, nor any aspect of your physical appearance." He nodded once, silently agreeing with himself and the stallion's previous words.
"Any who is attracted to another on a purely physical basis... that sort of love would wear out over time. There is a certain number of times one can look upon beauty without it being dulled... by either time or repetition. I do not believe anyone could truly claim to be 'in love' if all one knows about another is that they are beautiful or handsome. Yes, there would surely be some form of talk in which basic information is exchanged, but... it wouldn't be the same as being attracted to someone's mind." He gave a lopsided grin, something rarely ever found gracing his expression.

"The talk about a relationship that is based on looks and not love, reminds me a saying that Jack woudl say. "Simple minds. Simple Pleasures," or well, throw in a few enlongated S's in that one." he muttered, towards the other stallion, before giving his own soft snort in amusement, "I'm sure there are some who would rather a relationship like that, but they are.. um. "Vain" as I've heard it called. I guess." He had sounded intellegent until he hit that word barrier. But he was trying!
"I think when we part ways, I'll go search my father out, and ask him why he was so attracted to my mother. If I'm going to get anywhere in life,I think I should start with the beginning, don't you think?" he thought briefly, before looking to the other with almost a questioning glance. It was always better to think outloud and be told what was right or wrong, then to never try at all. In his opinion.
