I live really close to Berklee, so I'm within walking distance of lots of music stores. There's a Daddy's Junkie Music, and some drum store I can never remember the name of.

You're probably thinking of Jack's Drum Shop. They've got good stuff, but I feel they overprice a lot of the time. The Daddy's there has some great stuff from time to time, though.

Good thing I've never actually bought anything from there. I just remember walking past it and never being able to take my eyes off the drums, but now they've moved and they're upstairs, so I can't just casually walk by anymore.

I always go to Long & Mcquades musical instuments, it's about a 45 min drive from where i live and just like one of the other guys you are allowed to play the instuments(even like the 2 000$ guitars!!!). I was buyin a crash cymbal there and they let me test it out like really loud and no one cared. they've got great stuff there. That's also where i got my first drumset(CB drums beginners set). They have used cymbals there that are really cheap even though they only have a couple marks on them!

There are two music shops I go to. One is called the Starving Musician, which has a great selection of used drum parts, and I forget the name of the other on at the momment, but it practically halves the prices and give you a bunch of extra stuff for free when you buy something if you take lessons from the guy I take lessons from. This is because the owner is really good friends with my drum teacher.

A Sound Education.
Amazing drum-sets.
And they have all the drum books I need there.
(:
