((The AI systems on those satellites are pathetic compared to a Culture Mind. I don't care how intelligent you think they are, a Culture Mind could hack it to annihilation in a matter of microseconds. Check out an actual description of a Culture Mind, they are so massively intelligent they have to keep 90% of their intelligence in Hyperspace because their isn't enough room for it. One square atom of a Culture Mind contains more intelligence than any human brain and they are 15 metre diameter spheres (that's the section NOT in hyperspace.) In that 15 metres they can store more information than you could fit on the surface of a planet the size of Jupiter if you had the text in size 10 font stacked to the height of skyscrapers. And can process all of that information almost instantaneously, to take a quote from the books.
The Culture is your civilizations Outside Context Problem. The sort of thing civilizations only encounter once and come across them in the same manner that a sentence comes across a full stop.
The usual example given to illustrate an Outside Context Problem was imagining you were a tribe on a largish, fertile island; you'd tamed the land, invented the wheel or writing or whatever, the neighbours were cooperative or enslaved but at any rate peaceful and you were busy raising temples to yourself with all the excess productive capacity you had, you were in a position of near-absolute power and control which your hallowed ancestors could hardly have dreamed of and the whole situation was just running along nicely like a canoe on wet grass... when suddenly this bristling lump of iron appears sailless and trailing steam in the bay and these guys carrying long funny-looking sticks come ashore and announce you've just been discovered, you're all subjects of the Emperor now, he's keen on presents called tax and these bright-eyed holy men would like a word with your priests.
To your civilization, the Culture are an Excession.
Deffinition of Excession by Iain M. Banks: Something Excessively powerful, intelligent and/or aggressive.
In this case, the first two.))

((If you managed to get past the initial AI, you'd still have to contend with the AI of each weapon system, and the power system, not to mention to AI of the sensor system and the AI of the communication system, and the back-up AI in case one of them goes haywire.
Anyway, before you could even manage that, the satellite would send a message to the other satellites that would something along the lines of virus alert, and the other satellites would have opened fire faster than a fat kid can eat a cupcake.))

((As I said, that isn't a problem for the Culture Mind, if it can take over one of your AI's in a micro second it won't take it that much longer to take over another couple. Now ever if they would send a message as soon as it realizes it's getting hacked it's too late, as soon as it realizes it's being hacked the Mind would already have overpowered it, the Culture Minds tech level compared to your AI is almost at the point where they might aswell just lay down for it, not quite, but close enough.
And a fat kid eating cake isn't nearly fast enough ^_^. As I said before, biological lifeforms are extremely slow, the Culture doesn't realize why other races rely on them so.
Anyway, if you were just going to open fire where's the problem? You've lost a single defence satellite, yeah, but you still have plenty of others and an even bigger reason to try and shoot the unarmed ROU out of the sky. ^^))

((Eh, alright. I'll concede the loss of the satellite. But to your unarmed comment, I have two things to say:
1. We don't know that your ship is unarmed and
2. You're threatening us with force. Instantly, that marks you as hostile and therefore assumed as the enemy.))
Federation Dojourian Defense Grid High Orbit, Dojouro
The satellites destruction was noticed on the status board of the local Golan Defense Station and the automated intelligence system sent a message to all the satellites on this face of the planet to acquire a targeting lock. The final firing message would have to be sent via controller of the central system. Basically, the ROU was now experiencing around one thousand five hundred targeting locks. Aggressive AI was brought online in all satellites so that another attempt to do that would be much harder. Another message was sent, this time, with a much angrier tone.
"This is your final warning. Remove your ship from Galactic Federation space, hostile, or we will open fire. Your aggressive actions will not be taken lightly. Repeat. This is your final warning to remove your ship from Galactic Federation territory."
Communications with the ship were cut after that. If it made one more movement that was not leaving the system, the ship would receive a hell fire in the form of ten thousand plus ion and proton missiles coming its wave in under one second.

Dojouro System Authorized Hyperspace Lance OSF 2nd Home Fleet Exiting from a space fold operation, a large fleet belonging to the OSF Navy appeared between Dojouro and the planet closest to it. It was truly odd for the OSF Navy to send this many ships for a simple visit. It was even uncommon for them to send a fleet this large into combat but seeing that the OSF's beloved Fleet Admiral Mirumoto was onboard the OSS Orion, the entire 2nd Home Fleet had been dispatched to make sure that he was safe.
One Hyperion-class ship began to move away from the fleet although it was being escorted by two larger Cronus-class ships. The small group halted its advance approximately 100 kilometers from the OSF 2nd Home Fleet. >>>Galactic Federation of Free Worlds >>>OSF 2nd Home Fleet
Greetings. We are the OSF 2nd Home Fleet. We have come with OSF Fleet Admiral Yokoturi Mirumoto. Our purpose here is merely to show our ties to your government, after an extended period of isolation on our part. At the time the OSF 2nd Home Fleet was completely unaware of the situation happening around Dojouro. This lack of knowledge was mostly due to the fact that their sensors had not corrected themselves yet after the space fold operation. In truth it would still be another few minutes for that the happen.

Command & Control, Fort Dojouro Dojouro High Orbit, Dojouro SystemThe long range hyperspace probes had already picked up the ships of the Omega Star Force and identified them as they approached the Federation's capital. The commander of Fort Dojouro, Rear Admiral Kittan Ritona, fielded the communication, as he had been contacted when the OSF vessels were detected. >>>OSF 2nd Home Fleet >>>Fort Dojouro C&C: Rear Admiral Kittan Ritona
Greetings to the Omega Star Forces and to Fleet Admiral Yokoturi Mirumoto. I am Rear Admiral Kittan Ritona, commander of the Federation defense station Fort Dojouro, and regional defense commander. Your vessels are welcome aboard the station or you can proceed straight down to the planet. I can acquire a landing vector for either the station's flag hanger or the presidential landing platform in Dojouro City.

Dojouro System OSF 2nd Home Fleet OSS Orion
The Orion's communication's officer quickly received the transmission and alerted the Fleet Admiral. >>>Fort Dojouro C&C: Rear Admiral Kittan Ritona >>OSF 2nd Home Fleet: Fleet Admiral Yokoturi Mirumoto
Thank you for your hospitality. I will take you up on your offer to board your station, so this ship's crew won't have to go through the hassle of landing and lifting-off in an atmosphere. All the other ships of the fleet except for this one, will hold their position. Think of them as nothing more than added defense while we are here. The fleet was truly massive for OSF standards. There were about 300 ships. Only the Orion, the two Cronus-class ships, and a few Iapetus-class ships were a few kilometers in length and all of the other ships were under six hundred meters.((Yeah I just realized I forget to mention how many ship came along))

((Eh, it's chill.))
Command & Control, Fort Dojouro Dojouro High Orbit, Dojouro System
Command and Control sent landing coordinates to the ship, directing their shuttle craft to Hanger Bay 1B. Then an order was sent to Hanger Bay 1B to clear the hanger and make preparations for a foreign dignitary. Then, Read Admiral Ritona left C&C in the command of the Lieutenant and walked at a brisk pace toward Hanger Bay 1B.

Dojouro System OSF 2nd Home Fleet OSS Orion
The Fleet Admiral left the bridge of the Orion along with a squad from the 9th Security Battalion that was dispatched with the fleet to be his bodyguards. He calmly made his way through the ship towards the shuttle bay. On his way their he was joined by the one person on the ship he didn't want to see, Walter Dorian. In his head the Fleet Admiral cursed the new political protocols that were placed on him by the United Hellene Government, in the old days there was no government that the OSF represented so a political envoy was useless. It seemed the Mr. Dorian was intent on joining the Fleet Admiral on his trip to Fort Dojouro and the Fleet Admiral had no choice but to allow him.
In a number of minutes Fleet Admiral Mirumoto, Mr. Dorian, and the squad from the 9th Security Battalion made their way to the shuttle bay. They all board a waiting VC-33 MK transport in a brisk speed, so they could quickly take off. Once everyone was on board and strapped in the transport launched from the Orion's shuttle bay.
After several minutes of travel along the landing coordinates that were provided by Fort Dojouro's C&C, the transport finally arrived in Hanger Bay 1B. Once the transport came to a complete stop, its doors opened. The first off was Fleet Admiral Mirumoto, followed by Mr. Dorian, and the squad of marines from the 9th Security Battalion were the last to exit.

Ships were cleared from the hanger, as well as personnel and equipment. Waiting were an honor guard and the Rear Admiral, who had arrived just recently. The blast shield was lowered and only the air shield, which was able to passed through, remained.

Fleet Admiral Mirumoto advanced from the shuttle with Mr. Dorian and the marines following closely behind him. The Fleet Admiral and his escort stopped in front of the Rear Admiral. "Fleet Admiral Mirumoto of the United Hellene Government's Omega Space Forces. Rear Admiral Ritona, I presume?" The Fleet Admiral extended his hand as a gesture of kindness.

Rear Admiral Ritona bowed his head and then accepted the man's hand and shook it. "You presumed right, Fleet Admiral. I'm very pleased to meet you. If you would please follow me, I'm going to take you to a conference room off of the station's Command and Control. I've forwarded a message to the Head of State and he is on his way up to the station as we speak to greet you properly."

The Fleet Admiral gave a friendly smile after hand shake. "Very well then, after you." Fleet Admiral Mirumoto thought he heard a slight mumble from behind him then glared at the man known as Mr. Dorian. After receiving the look the man gulped and straightened himself, out of both nervousness and fear.
The Fleet Admiral then turned his attention back to the Rear Admiral. "Well all that wasn't necessary on my account. However I suppose such things are protocol, which is why I had to bring that one along." As he said the words, that one, he indicated Mr. Dorian. A man that the Fleet Admiral didn't like in the least.

Admiral Ritona nodded. "Your people haven't actually dealt with this Head of State as far as I know. I'm pretty sure your last dealings were with Head of State Tahiri Veila Panjirinanu, and Head of State Karson would like very much to meet you." He accessed the door out of the hanger as crews headaed over to the shuttle to refuel it.

The Fleet Admiral returned the nodded but it was also an acknowledgement to the Rear Admiral's statement. "You are correct, we have not dealt with him. Had I known that I would be meeting with him I would have brought the president instead of Mr. Dorian to represent the United Hellene Government." Yokoturi followed Admiral Ritona as he moved toward the doors, in turn the marines and Mr. Dorian also followed behind.
